Outlook Contact Card - Organization Tab disabled users

In Outlook there is a Contact Card showing detailed information about that person. the Organization tab shows the contact's "Manager", "Shares Same Manager" (other contacts with the same manager), and "Direct Reports" (people
that report to that contact).
The problem i am seeing is that Users disabled in Active Directory (people that have left the company) are showing up in the Organization Tab.
How can i filter out disabled users from this list for anyone using Outlook?
I cannot permanently delete users from Active Directory until after a disabled account reaches a certain age. Also i would prefer not modifying the disabled Active Directory user accounts.
We mostly run Outlook 2010 with a few people running Outlook 2013

Hi,
Outlook has no control over this, it just displays what it got from the server end. And to my knowledge, there is no such a feature to filter out those users from that list, at least on Outlook client.

  • Adding link to the photo and Name in the outlook contact card -Enterprise wide

How can I make the name and photo in the outlook contact card link to my profile page? I read articles where it is mentoined that the URL is set in Registry, currently my organization does not have any link associated with photo and name in contact card.
I want to implement this across the organization , any deployment or changes that I need to do to implement this across?
Appreciate if you can provide details on how this is done. The url will look like this:
    https://www.produrl.com/userid={userid}
How can I dynamically add respective userid in the link?Appreciate your response on this.

So you want to redesign the contact card in Outlook? Are you using SharePoint? If signed into sharepoint via the social connect, there is a link to the mysharepoint page under View source. I don't think you can change the link or customize the card,

  • URI dialing changed Outlook contact card

Hello I have provided all the versioning info etc at the bottom of this post.
The issue we are experiences is as follows. Before enabling SIP URI dialing within our Jabber Client the contact details for a User would display the following fields
BusinessPhone = person's AD "telephoneNumber" field and the
Other = persons AD "ipPhone" field
This was accomplished by way of editing the following values in the jabber-config.xml file
     <Directory>
       <OtherPhone>ipPhone</OtherPhone>
       <BDIOtherPhone>ipPhone</BDIOtherPhone>
     </Directory>
After Updating the jabber-config.xml file to the one listed below, the following display problem is now occurring in Outlook contact Cards.
The person's Telephone number is being replaced by the SIP URI (See Screenshot)
Is there a way to have SIP URI dialing turned on but continue to show the proper phone numbers in the Outlook contact card? If so how is this accomplished?
    Jabber for Windows = 10.5.0
    Windows Version 7
    UCM = 9.1.2.12900
    IMP version = 9.1.1.419000
Our Jabber XML file looks like this

     </Directory>
    </config>

Thanks Christopher for the update on 2013
could you comment if there is any fix to how jabber itself displays contacts differently after enabling URI dialing. I find the users are confused by seeing a uri form and not selecting it even though it's a valid way to ring an extension. Should be nice to have both the uri and ipPhone listed.

  • Lync Contact Card - Organization details

    Hi,
In Lync contact Card when we open/expand, we are able to see 5 tabs as Contact, Notes, Organization,What's New and Membership.
In this "Organization" is showing the details of Manager and Team members who are sharing the same Manager and hierarchy continues till the last level.
I would like to know, is this information is static or created on need basis.
If its static and stored somewhere, pls suggest how to get the details.
Objective is to get the details of hierarchy level mapped. Pls suggest the way how we can get it.

  • How to Sync pictures from AD for users in Outlook Contacts?

Hi we recently enabled adding profile pictures to AD from sharepoint.   This works fine, the attribute shows in AD and the pictures show in Lync.   Now in Outlook there are soem inconsistencies.   I am are running
Outlook 2010 windows 7 64 bit.    The user pictures from the Global Address List show up fine in the people pane, however for users that I have a local outlook Contact created for the pictures do not show in the "people pane",
or the outlook "contact".  however the picture DOES show up in the outlook "Contact card".  If I click update on the outlook contact I get a message "no changes were found for this contact".
If I delete the local contact and re-add them the picture is there.  I don't think the solution is to delete and re-add contacts, as the reason to have the local contact is generally because we have added info that is not in GAL.
Any way to force the sync of the picture from AD for local contacts?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

  • Outlook contact not added Email do not show all information i Lync 2013 Client

I have seen if no Email address is added into contact personen I only get emty Card of user i Lync 2013.
When I add Email adr. into contact person and wait a littel then user get all information right i Lync 2013 user Card.
IS this right or should it also showing user and all information from Outlook contact Card into lync 2013 client Card?

Lync aggregates contact data from Microsoft Exchange GAL, Outlook and Microsoft Lync Server.
So you can see information from outlook in Lync user card.

  • Outlook Contacts Advanced Find

Hey guys, trying to do a search of the "Department" field for the contacts in my GAL in Outlook 2010. Noticed however that I'm only able to search on the first word contained in the Department field for any particular user. If the department field
contains more than one word, I'm not able to search on it. (See screenshot).
For example, the attached screenshot shows a user whose Department is "Investor Services". If I search "Investor" in Outlook Contacts using Advanced Find, this user shows in the results. However if I search for "Services", I get no results. Exchange
server is 2007. Also getting the same results with a subsidiary company of ours who just moved to Office 365 (searching on the Department field only works for the first word in the field).
Tried posting the question in Exchange forums, since it seems like an issue with Exchange Search Indexing not indexing the entire contents of the field. (See
here). It was suggested I try the Outlook forum instead.
Anyone else have this problem? Is this by design, and if so, is there some kind of work-around other than downloading the GAL to my local contacts?
    Shaun

    Hi Shaun,
Per my test and research, this is by design.
    Thanks,
    Evan

  • Contacts emailed as an 'outlook' contact arrive as a vcf unless uisng old POP3

I was redirected here from the Office Outlook forum.
I have been trying for some time to work out how my wife and I can quickly update Outlook contacts between us whilst preserving all the additional data such as profiles, large notes field etc.
I have an Exchange 2010 provider (and 2010 client) and when I forward a contact in 'outlook' format, it arrives at the destination as a vcf having 'lost' much of the Outlook specific data.
If I do the same operation but send the contact via another POP3 (Additional account on my client) to my wifes POP3 (BT ISP), then the file arrives in the correct .msg format preserving categories, notes etc. The same applies if I send it from by POP3 BT
to myself at the same address.
If I send it from my POP3 BT to my 2010 Exchange, then it arrives as a vcf.
All the emails with contact attachments in my sent items are shown correctly.
All the above were using the same client (2010).
I also notice that if I drag the contact from Outlook to a folder somewhere, then it can be dragged into the contacts folder on another client OK.
Any clues how to preserve the receiving format? In my case, if I move my wife to the same exchange domain, then can one email contacts in the Outlook format correctly? We do not want to have a common 'shared' address book as that gets 'complicated' with
    Android phones on the account.

As soon as I introduce my exchange server as the sending platform, then somehow the attachments arrive as .vcf whether I send them to a POP3 account or otherwise. I suppose this begs the question; if you send or receive contacts which have been sent outside
an exchange environment (or a specific mail domain on exchange), do they automatically get stripped down to vcf files?
    Hi,
It seems to be by design. I tested in my environment. When I send the Contact as an Outlook Contact to an external internet user, the attached Contact would be saved as a VCF file instead of an Outlook itms file.

  • Stack overflow exception when selecting the Organization tab on a contact card

I have encountered a reproducible crash in the Lync 2013 client.  The crash happens after selecting the "Organization" tab when viewing a contact card.
The crash appears to happen because of a stack overflow with MSO.DLL.  I have applied the latest hotfix for that module but the crash persists.
Before I open a case with MSFT, can anyone offer any insight?  Perhaps this is being seen elsewhere?

I actually think I may have figured this out.  I took a network trace during the crash.  What I found is that Lync is performing repeated LDAP searches over and over until it crashes from the stack overflow.  Digging into
the searches, I found the same two user CN's being alternated one after another.
It appears that this crash may be the result of a "Circular Reference" where the two users are each listed as the others manager in their user object.
    Example:
    User1: Manager = User2
    User2: Manager = User1
Proving this as the cause will take me some additional time as these two users are at the top of the Org Chart.  :)
I'll update this post with the results when I get them.

  • Lync 2013: missing tabs on contact card

I did some research on the web but I could quite find an answer, maybe I am the first one to experience this or I am just not clever enough.
We are using Lync Server 2013 and the the Lync 2013 client without an exchange server. The problem we are experiencing atm is that when we use outlook 2010 and lync client 2013, all users
have the organization tab on their contact card. All informations like phone e-mail address etc. are active directory informations. This configuration works just fine but if I change to outlook 2013 and lync client 2013, the organization tab automatically disappears
and the what's new tab shows up (this tab wasn't there before).
Actually I wouldn't mind the new tab but I'd like the organization tab back. Is it even possible without using an exchange server? I am just wondering why it is perfectly working between outlook 2012 and lync 2013 but is not when I use outlook and lync 2013.
I hope it is clear enough, if not, just ask please.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
The organization information was located directly over the IM, Call and video buttons of contact card in Lync 2013 client.

  • Disable sync of phone contacts to Outlook contacts

Anyone who can show me how to disable sync the contacts of my iPhone to Outlook contacts.
    iPhone5, iOS 7 and Office 2013.
    TIA.

    Hello hades1943
If you are using iTunes to facilitate the sync of your contacts, then head to the info tab in iTunes when your iPhone is plugged in and uncheck the box for contact syncing. If you are using a push service then all you would need to do is locate in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or if you are using iCloud the Settings > iCloud and turn off any contact syncing.

  • Lync 2010 Contact List Organization And Standardization With Microsoft Outlook & Exchange

    Hello All,
We are noticing some inconsistencies in regards to what’s being displayed in our Lync Contacts. When diving deeper into this, we noticed some users have modified "Full Name" field in Outlook contacts to names which they please then it replicates
    onto Lync.
We would like to standardize our Lync contact list using lastname, firstname format but the only options right now I am aware of doing this is making sure users don't have local contacts saved in their Outlook which we have gone ahead
and globally disabled feature "Save my Lync contacts in my personal contacts folder on the Exchange server" to ensure up-to-date contact details are collected from the GAL.
Is there anything else the group can recommend, as its creating a bit of a nuisance with non-technical users?
    Thanks in advance all!

    Hi JayJayTech,
You can run the following command to prevent Lync searches the contact information from Outlook Contact folders.
    Set-CsClientPolicy -Identy Global -ExcludedContactFolders "Contact;Contacts;Suggested Contacts,IPM.Contact"
    Best regards,
    Eric

  • Is there someway to disable the Outlook sync process when I hook up to my computer?  I don't mind the AOL e-mail sync, but do not want or need the Outlook contacts/e-mail sync.

With the phone connected, go to the info tab for the phone in iTunes. That's where you specify what contacts, calendars, e-mail accounts, etc. to sync and to what applications.

  • Links Don't Work in Contact Card (people view) Outlook 2013 SP1

I have Office Professional Plus 2013 SP1 x64 installed. When viewing contacts in "People" view, none of the links in blue work.  For example, clicking on the "Schedule a meeting" blue link under Calendar or "Outlook (Contacts)"
blue link under View Source doesn't do anything.
I have uninstalled and re-installed.  Also tried a new domain user (new profile) and same result. This is specific to this computer, as this works normal with the same user accounts on other PC's.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Or what mechanism is broken?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Since you mentioned the issue persists when logging on the PC with a new account, I think there should be something wrong with the Office installation. I suggest you run Office Configuration Analyzer Tool to get a report of the installed Office Programs:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2812744/en-us
The report you can get includes many parameters about your Office program configuration. It also highlights known problems that are found when OffCAT scans your computer. For any problems that are listed in the report, you are provided a link to a public-facing
article (usually a Microsoft Knowledge Base article) about each problem so that you can read about possible fixes.
Let me know if there you can find any problems about Outlook.
    Thanks,
