Outlook Contact Photos

Is anybody having problems when they use "include contacts' photos" from Outlook? My contact's photos sync with my iPod classic, but they are all distorted on the bottom half of the photo (digitized, pixelated, messed-up colors, etc.)
I also use this feature with my iPhone and it works fine. The pictures look great. But with the classic, they are all messed up.
Dan

I've got the same problem with my 80GB iPod Classic. The only difference is I'm on a Mac and I'm using Address Book for my contact pictures.

  • Any photo sync apps that don't wipe out outlook contact photos?

My primary contact list is on my exchange mailbox.
If I take a picture on my phone and assign it to a contact the photo properly syncronizes to my exchange contacts in a few moments; however all of the photo syncing tools like Sync.Me that I've used do not populate the outlook contact photos.
There used to be a product to synchronize facebook contact photos directly to exchange, however since outlook started supporting the facebook social connector the developer pulled the tool from the web.   The shortcoming of the facebook / linked in social connector is that it does not populate the photos in the contacts.  It just dynamically shows the current facebook/linkedin photo when reading emails in outlook.
So Sync.Me doesn't send contact photos to exchange, and outlook social connector does not download the pictures to contacts which means they don't show up on the phone.
Worse than that, if you use something like Sync.Me it actually erases the photo from the outlook contact.
Does anyone use iphone with exchange and have a solution that works both ways?

Is there any news on the matter?
    Man thanks.

  • Adding link to the photo and Name in the outlook contact card -Enterprise wide

How can I make the name and photo in the outlook contact card link to my profile page? I read articles where it is mentoined that the URL is set in Registry, currently my organization does not have any link associated with photo and name in contact card.
I want to implement this across the organization , any deployment or changes that I need to do to implement this across?
Appreciate if you can provide details on how this is done. The url will look like this:
    https://www.produrl.com/userid={userid}
How can I dynamically add respective userid in the link?Appreciate your response on this.

So you want to redesign the contact card in Outlook? Are you using SharePoint? If signed into sharepoint via the social connect, there is a link to the mysharepoint page under View source. I don't think you can change the link or customize the card,
    beyond what is listed here:

  • After changing contact photo on iPhone, photo no longer shows up in outlook

I had my contact photos all setup on my iphone, and syncing correctly with iTunes and showing up correctly in Outlook 2007. The photos are stored on the iPhone, and set either by selecting the photo and doing "Assign to Contact", or in Contacts, Edit, Edit (the picture) and "Choose Photo". They would show up as a thumbnail in the Outlook 2007 Business Card view, and also in the detail when you double-click a contact. This part of the process hasn't changed.
What has changed is iOS4. Now, when I go in and change a contact's photo on the iPhone, it no longer shows up correctly in Outlook 2007. It shows a blank space when showing the Business card view, but shows the photo correctly in the detail if I double-click a contact. Even if I change it back to the photo that it was, it still won't show correctly in Outlook 2007 Business Card view.
Contacts whose photos I haven't changed since iOS4 show correctly in both places in Outlook 2007.
Anyone else seeing this or have a fix?

    Hi!
I'm having the same troubles and after searching for a while i found
    the following solution:
    In short (from http://gyoo.com/blog/?p=48)
    First, some figures:
    iPhone camera resolution: 1600×1200 (72dpi)
    iPhone screen resolution: 320×480 (160dpi)
iPhone contact picture display size: 64×64 (160dpi)
iPhone contact picture display size on call: 320×270 (160dpi)
    Outlook import resolution: 72×96 (72dpi)
    - On your PC, resize the image contact to 320×320 (160dpi),
knowing that 25 pixels on the top and bottom will be semi-transparent when on call.
    - On your PC, create a folder iPhone Photos\Contacts and move your contact photos inside Sync the photos into your iPhone with iTunes through the Photos tab.
    - Select the iPhone Photos folder as source.
    - Manually associated the photo to your contact on the iPhone
    (Edit ->Add Photo->Choose Existing Photo)
    - Sync back the iPhone with iTunes.
The photos will be associated automatically into Outlook with the good resolution this time.

  • Contact Photos in iPad and iPhone but not on Outlook 2011

    Hi,
If I create a contact on my my iPhone or iPad the contact photos are seen in either device but cannot be seen in Outlook 2011 or in the Contacts app (v9) of my mac.
The opposite is also true: if I create the contact in my computer (Outlook 2011 or Contacts v9), the photos show up only in Outlook or in Contacts v9 but not on my iPhone or iPad. Contact info is OK in all 4 places.
The contacts are stored in an Exchange server (don't want to use iCloud at this point).
I'm running IOS 8 on an iPhone 5 and iPad mini. Yosemite runs on a MacBook Air.
Any idea how can can I fix this?
    Thanks.

You could also try to remove folder ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub-shared/  to the Desktop.
This folder is the local copy of the photos in the shared Photo Streams on the Mac from the user library.
The user library is hidden by default. To open the hidden User Library:
    Use the Finder's "Go" menu.
Click "Go", then hold down the options key, until you are seeing "Library" in the drop down menu appear and click it.
In the Finder window that will open navigate to the folder ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub-shared/.
Remove the folder and restart the Mac.   It will take some time, until the folder will populate again. Don't delete the copy you removed, just in case.

  • Syncing contact photos between Outlook 2011 for Mac and the rest

Hello, I installed Office for Mac 2011 and when it synced the contacts (through Exchange), most of the contact photos now no longer show in OWA or in Outlook 2013 from my Windows PC's. They are not lost: In Outlook 2013 (for windows) they appear instead
under "Notes", in the form of a thumbnail jpeg. On my Mac, however, the photos show up correctly. None of my windows accounts (e.g., windows phone) now show any photos any longer. I tried some troubleshooting: I deleted all my contacts from everything,
and imported them back to Outlook for Mac and synced them, but the photos still show only under "notes" in the Windows accounts.
How can I solve the issue? I see the same problem reported by other people, but I am not aware of a resolution.

    Hi,
I think we can go to the Microsoft Office for Mac forum:

  • IOS contact photo showing up in Outlook and Lync

    Running Exchange 2010 SP3 UR7 and Lync 2013, all on-prem.
We have a weird issue where someone called up stating their picture was in email and to have it removed.  We don't supply pictures in AD so normally everything is blank when you email or IM someone via link, no pictures for anyone shows up.
My manager said he noticed it as well.  We found out that when he has a contact on his Iphone 6+ and he sets a picture (it is an active sync enabled device) it shows up in his Outlook client and his Lync client.  As soon as he changes it on
his Iphone, it changes in Outlook and Lync.  I believe it is only visible on his PC and when sending emails out, no one sees the picture.
How is this doing this or how do we stop it from happening?  I'm just assuming it is something in active sync that is doing this.

    Hi,
Generally, if the user change their own photo in Outlook or Lync or ActiveSync device, the photo would be synced to AD automatically. Once the picture is synced to AD. Other domain users would also see this picture for this user. It needs time to update
    and sync.
If the user changes the photo for a contact in ActiveSync device as what Willard says, the contact photo would be synced to mailbox only for this user view. It would not be synced to AD for this contact and other domain users would not view the changed photo.

  • Contact photo Outlook Exchange 2010 Issue

I use iPhone 4S with OS 5.0.1. I use Exchange to sync my mail, calendar and contacts with my Exchange 2010. However, when I sync my iPhone contact photos with Facebook on my iPhone, contact photos are not visible on Outlook but instead appear as empty squares. Any ideas? Thnks!

Same here - I've been Google’ing a lot, and it seems there may be a problem with the photo resolution from FB against Outlooks (which looks like demands 72 dpi?!?)
Actually, if you open a contact on the iPhone, then "edit" and edit the photo (without making any changes) and then save, the photo will appear in Outlook in a couple of seconds. However, if you re-sync with FB, the photo will disappear again
This has worked before, so I really hope they can sort it out....
    iOS5 and Outlook20007 btw...

  • How to Sync pictures from AD for users in Outlook Contacts?

Hi we recently enabled adding profile pictures to AD from sharepoint.   This works fine, the attribute shows in AD and the pictures show in Lync.   Now in Outlook there are soem inconsistencies.   I am are running
Outlook 2010 windows 7 64 bit.    The user pictures from the Global Address List show up fine in the people pane, however for users that I have a local outlook Contact created for the pictures do not show in the "people pane",
or the outlook "contact".  however the picture DOES show up in the outlook "Contact card".  If I click update on the outlook contact I get a message "no changes were found for this contact".
If I delete the local contact and re-add them the picture is there.  I don't think the solution is to delete and re-add contacts, as the reason to have the local contact is generally because we have added info that is not in GAL.
Any way to force the sync of the picture from AD for local contacts?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

  • Custom ID card creator and MS Outlook contact objects

I'm working on a project where flash based photo id badge maker like this one quickidcard.com imports data from Outlook contact object, (name, dept, photo etc.) and using XML creates an employee id badge from a template. My problem is that MS Outlook 2010 doesn't seem to support XML natively so the data has to be parsed. I made it running with PST export and XML parse but it's not scalable and drags when more than 20 contacts have to be imported at a time. CSV and vCard export approach is even slower. It's kind of hard to believe Outlook has no direct XML support while Word and Excel use XML as native. Has anyone faced similar problem or has any recommendations how to bite Outlook from Flash perspective?

correct. I think Outlook exporting objects to PST is the bottleneck. That's why I'm looking for a solution that can hook up to Outlook directly instaed of using export call

  • Outlook contacts up to icloud

How do you get outlook contacts from a pc up to icloud, I have downloaded the windows for icloud, I can only see that you can places photos up to the drive, please.... there has to be an easy way, I even went to the apple store and did a 1hr basic icloud training and they were  not 100% sure how to do it either and rec to download windows for icloud... but where do I go know.. thank you in advanced

    Thank you, pvonk, for responding.
    1. I'm about to show my ignorance about computers:  Your first two sentences seem to me to be completely contradicting each other...so I have no clue what you were trying to tell me there. Sorry.
    2. I have no contacts in  iCloud, yet.  In the Help, it said it "pushes" contacts to Outlook automatically.  I took that to mean that, unless there was some way to tell it not to, any modifcations I made to contacts in my iPhone would (if I used iCloud to backup my iPhone) would end up also changing my Outlook contacts. So I haven't yet told my iPhone to send its contacts to  iCloud.
    3. I currently do back up my iPhone Calendar to iCloud. (I don't use the one in Outlook anyway...didn't care what happened to Outlook Calendar).  So far, it doesn't seem to change my Outlook Calendar...not sure why not, it is supposed to...but it gave me hope that there was a way to also not mess with Outlook Contacts???

  • Contacts created on the iPhone do not get synced to Outlook Contacts

For some reason, contacts created on the iPhone do not get transferred over to Outlook Contacts.
I sync the iPhone to my work computer for Calendar and Contacts. I sync to my home iMac for tunes, video, and photos. So far this is the only problem I've encountered. Calendar entries created on iPhone sync to Outlook Calendar ok (and vice-versa). My iTunes sync setting on the work PC is Sync contacts with Outlook. All Contacts. The other two choices ("Selected Groups" and "Put new contacts created on this iPhone into the Group") are greyed out and unavailable.
    I'd appreciate any advice....

I have been unable to sync Outlook 2002 and iPhone 2G since I upgraded to 7.7 and 2.0. Don't want to have to upgrade outlook but will do so if I know it will work. Anybody not having the problem???
I have spent hours trying to resolve. Please help

  • How to get the contact photos from the address book on the ipod ??

    Hello !
I figured out that it was available to sync the address book (on Mac OS)with the contact photos and find them on your ipod nano chromatic... But I have Windows and I can't make it work with Outlook. I can sync it with itunes and have the contact names and few infos but not the pictures, there is just a grey silhouette instead of the contact photo. Is there anybody that know how to get the contact picture on the ipod (with Windows OS) ?
Thanks a lot in advance !
    Hyrekia

Hooray !! I have found how to do it !! There is a new option now on itunes when you sync your ipod with outlook. You just have to check the box entitled "add the contact pictures". I'm not sure it was there before, but I did an update today !!
    I'm really glad !!

  • Contact Photos and wallpaper

Whenever I take a contact photo for somebody and they call or I call them it always takes up the wholebackground instead of their picture being in the upper right hand corner and my original background being in the corner, why is this? I want the contact photo to be up in the corner and my background be in the background. Anybody know how to fix this?
    -David
    [email protected]

Any photo taken with the iPhone and used for a contact's profile photo, will take up the whole page. The way to eliminate this issue is to assign a photo not taken with the iPhone and assign that photo to Outlook contacts. Also if you have any phones that will sync with the PC or laptop you are using, Outlook will automatically assign those photos to the contacts of your desire. After non iPhone photos of contacts are synced to the iPhone, they will then show up in the upper right hand corner of the screen during the ring and the entire conversation. My advice is to take photos with another device or phone and sync them to Oulook. This is the guaranteed way of what you're wanting. My 8125 has hundreds of photos of friends and family contacts and all of their photos are in my screen that way. Fortunate for me, I like the full screen look, so I took new photos and reassigned them all.

I want to sync my Outlook contacts on my pc with my iPad3. How do I do that?

Have you synced your iPad with iTunes - have you transferred anything from your computer to your iPad such as music, movies, tv shows, and photos?
If so, how did you do that?
The Info tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes is where the Movies, TV Shows, Photos, and the other tabs for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes are located.
