Outlook contacts to mac mail

Hi
How do I import Outlook Contacts from my PC (Windows XP) to Mac Mail?

There are a number of ways to do this... one that I have found to be reliable is to install the free Plaxo plugin (http://www.plaxo.com) -- first on the PC, then sync... then install it on the Mac, and sync. The added bonus is that contacts changes made on one computer will be synchronized to the other.

Can I set up Groups of contacts on Mac Mail?

Yes, you can. Is "Mac OS X (10.7)"  still your current system?
You can create groups from the File menu in the "Address Book /Contacts" application.

  • MS Outlook export to Mac mail

May I know how to export email from Microsoft Outlook to Mac mail? It is because I cannot find a way to do it, please help.

    Hi wajic,
    Try http://www.techhit.com/outlook/exportimport_outlookmac.html
I had exactly the same problem and frustrations, but MessageSave solved my problem in 2-3 hours from spotting it on Google to importing successfully all my emails from my Outlook to MAC APPLE Mail (or MS Entourage, if you like).
However, it has a slight cost ... but doesn't everything these days , but the good news is a 40% discount for MAC users at the moment.
I paid £23.03 which I thought was good value for money, considering it worked. It allows exports of Messages (including attachments), Contacts and Calendar for import into MAC Mail or MS Entourage.
Try the evaluation copy (limited to 50 messages) and judge for yourself.
    Hope this was helpful

  • Connect Contacts on MAC Mail Software

    I have another question.
I am wondering if it's possible to connect the contacts I have on the server and I can see on my webmail to the Macintosh Mail software. Is it an LDAP? I am not talking for the global userlist. I am talking about the personal address book each user has.
    Thanks,
    Savvas

Is it an LDAP?Yes the contacts are stored in an LDAP repository.
I am not talking for the global userlist. I am talking about the personal address book each user has.I don't personally own a Mac so I cannot say what may or may not be possible. What I can say is that although we store the contact information in LDAP it is unlikely to be in a format that can be recognised by the Mac Mail software although other forum readers may be able to confirm this one way or another.

  • What is the best way to transfer my Yahoo mail account email, email folders and contacts to Mac Mail?

A new version of Yahoo Mail has unexpectedly been dumped on long time users a few days ago, leaving many of us with functions that no longer work and are unstable. There was no announcement of a Beta or a possibility of retaining the old Yahoo Mail. It was like "Here it is, like it or not. We don't care."
My son said "Why don't you use another email client?". I thought of Mac Mail immediately. I have found a lot of instructions as to how to move my Yahoo mail components, and they sound pretty easy, but what I haven't found is what happens to my Inbox email, my archived email and my contacts. Do I have to move all those components to Mac Mail manually, and if so, will they now reside on my hard drive? Maybe I'm getting in over my head here. Some of the instructions say all I need is just my Full Name, Email address and Password. I guess I'm a cynic. It just sounds too good to be true. What happens to the stuff that was on Yahoo?
I have a couple of other reputable email accounts, but I would have to go through all my friends and businesses and inform them of the changed email addy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've never bothered w/Yahoo Mail latest upgrades or updates.
You can switch back to the old version of Yahoo Mail by going into your Yahoo Preferences and/or check the top right hand corner of its website.

  • I suddenly cannot search my Address Book (Contacts) in Mac Mail.  Seems to be "stuck" on one contact

I suddenly cannot search my Mac Mail Contacts.  Normally, when I type in a name, it immediately comes right up to that contact.  Only way I can see a particular contact I want is to double click on that name.  I want to be able to see it to the right of the list of all my contacts on the left.  Thanks in advance for your help.  I've tried quitting the application, but it's not helping.  I've also checked and all my Software Updates are up to date.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
Not exactly clear, but in Address Books tool bar, is Groups & Names shown, or just Names?

  • How can I find/set up the AOL contacts in mac mail

I have both mac mail and AOL mail both together on my macbookpro. However the AOL contacts are not available in mac mail. I have to use safari to open AOL, sign in and copy down the contact i want to e mail. very inconvenient.  there has to be an easier way! I do not want to add 28 pages of printed contacts (one by one) in the mac address book.

I found this in AOL help >  How do I sync my AOL Address Book with the Mac Address Book?

  • Copying Outlook Contacts to Mac Address Book

I've searched through the forums and whilst this topic is raised quite a few times it hasn't really been answered.
I have got 3500+ contacts on my work PC in Outlook. I have installed Outlook for Mac 2011 on my new imac and I have the full contacts copied across into it.
However when I sync my iphone with my new imac I cannot sync the Contacts with Outlook as it doesn't give me that option.
The question is how do I copy my contacts into the mac Address book.
I have all the contacts saved as a PST file. I have also copied all the contacts individually as .MSG files. It would appear from previous questions that I need to save them as vcards which Outlook for Mac doesnt offer!
    Any top tips?
    Thanks

I've just had the same problem - after syncing my iPhone a couple of days ago I returned to find all my contacts (bar those added in the past couple of days) had gone...not the best time.
There didn't seem to be either any software that could do the job nor a way to export from Outlook 2011 to Address book (Lion) as iSync has now gone, nor a way to Export & Import other than via a CSV (text file) which would mean I'd lose all the associated photos,
That was until I worked out that
    Open Outlook 2011
Click on the Contacts button in the sidebar
Click [CMD] and A - to highlight all the contacts
on the top menu command 'Contact' click on 'Forward as vCard (cmd+J)
Email all your contacts to yourself as attached individual vCards attached to an email message.
Open up the email and save the attachments to a suitable directory on you computer (i.e. 'Outlook\backup\')
the next bit is so easy..
Drag and drop all the vCards into the LHS panel (you'll see a green dot with a white plus symbol in the centre) of the Address Book.
A few 'yes' answers to the questions regarding importing vCards and you've done.
    then
EXPORT the ADDRESS BOOK ARCHIVE TO A SUITABLE PLACE as a back-up!
    Hope this helps!!?

  • Outlook express to Mac mail

I've just bought a new iMac and need to transfer data from my old PC (Windows XP). I plan to use an external hard disk.
But how can I transport my Outlook Express Mailbox to the mailbox on my new iMac? I understand I need to create mbox files? How can I do that from my PC? I'd be really grateful for some quick advice if possible. Thanks a lot!

Ksheldon, several questions to make sure how you should proceed:
    - what was the OS on your old Mac
    - how is it connected to your new Mac
    - do you have a copy of your old data on your new Mac?
If properly connected, you may give the Import function a try (in Mail, File menu, import mailboxes). Follow the instructions and see if it can find your Outlook data.
    Also have a look here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=455571&tstart=0
Although Outlook Express is listed as an import option it apparently gives problems. Makes sure you backup old Mail data before you play around with it.

  • PC Users are unable to check Outlook while my (mac) Mail is open

Ever since I upgraded to 10.4, whenever I have my Mail application open, the PC users are unable to check their IMAP mail through Outlook. The PC Users and myself are all using different accounts, but are checking the same server.
At first, this seemed like it was a coincidence... but then I shut my powerbook and they could check their again. I have to use a web mail client to check my email when I am on the network at work.
Any ideas to resolve this issue? Mail is set to check every 5 minutes.

AA8 and AA9 allow Reader Rights so the user can save the form. This is restricted by the license to 500 uses. In the long run, the only advantage of the Reader Rights is for your users, not for you. You can always import the data into the form and have the same result as they had in the form. It is not necessary to transmit the full form to you, only the data. If you were developing a web form that would likely exceed the 500 uses, you would have to negotiate a price with Adobe for Reader Rights (thousands of $$ should be expected).
If saving is important in a company environment, not online, then you may want to read the EULA carefully as to the exceptions. You will still have to have at least AA8.
I guess the printing problem was answered.

  • Using on a Mac cannot send by default from IPhoto? Only Outlook, IPhoto and Mac Mail shows as options.

We have both Outlook and Thunderbird installed on our IMac. When using IPhoto and we want to send a picture we are given the choices for Outlook, MacMail and IPhoto but not Thunderbird which is our default mail setting and works with everything else. Any clue how to integrate this so it works properly? Thank you!

You could drag the picture out of iPhoto and drop it on the desktop or into the download directory, then attach it from there.
