Outlook crashes when trying to attach file. Excel crashes when trying to save. (Possibly Connected)

A colleague is trying to attach a file to an email by clicking the attachment icon and it crashes, however it does not crash when you drag and drop.
When they try to save an excel file by going New File > Save as, it crashes, but when you right click in a folder or desktop and create new excel and then work on it and save, it works.
I already uninstalled, install compatibility pack again, reinstall, updated, disable all add-ons and ran them both in safe mode and it still crashes. Any ideas?

If you don't need the Trusteer Rapport software, you can remove it. If you need the software, you can try updating it or else temporarily disable it to see if that stops the crashes.

Before Snow Leopard, NO problems. After SL, I have problems in many areas.
Let's tackle one here: Mail freezes when I am trying to attach a file from my EDD. This did not happen with Leopard.

TB crashes with trying to attach files or pictures

I'm running Windows 8.1, TB 24.6.0,
TB often crashes when I attempt to attach files or pictures to an email. I noticed that it happens when browsing for the attachment file (or picture) in folders into which files are displayed in thumbnail and not so if showing only the file name (no thumbnails). Do you know if this has been reported or fixed?

I located this bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=802825 which indicates there is a third element.
Some have apparently been helped by updating their flash software.
You say Thumbnails, these often use third party DLL files to display them or generate them. Is there a specific file type in the crashing folders that is not in others, like PDF or word or some other application entirely. As the DLL has unloaded before the crash report is generated the devs are looking for a common link. Currently anti virus programs are suspect (scanning the files that are accessed to generate the thumbnails. But any observations you can offer would help here I think.

Trying to attach a file (I tried pdf, word, excel files) to a gmail when running in Firefox ended with an "Unable to attach file" statement. However, in IEX and Safari the same works properly.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Get error when checking out jsp file from cvs when Jdev is running in linux

I have JDev 9.0.3 andd CVS running in linux with same build version.
When I check out a project one jsp does not show up in the IDE but shows in the file folder correcly when I edit it thru vi.

When you are starting service in OS, you are actually starting the maxdb instance service .
You can set it in auto mode so that you will not get this error. The OS service only establishes the connection to SAP.
As a part of CS install, from CSADMIN part it is just required to send the certificate successfully to OAC0.
Normally no activity is required to be done to under SICF from CS install point of view.

I receive "there was an error attaching this file" when I try to attach pages document to email.

I think you're trying to send mail from a web page. It's a known issue with Gmail, at least, that it won't accept new-style iWork documents as attachments because it misidentifies them as malware. The workaround is to export the document in PDF format and send that.

Saved file will not show up when trying to attach file in mail

Sometimes... and only sometimes.. when I make a new file and then go back to my email or browser to attach the file it will not show in the place I saved it. If I click to list view SOMETIMES. I check the folder I saved it in and it's there.... .. go back to attach it.. it's not. Sometimes it will pop up if I toggle to column view then back to list view, but not always. Sometimes it's there the first time. Frustrating!!!

This sounds like a permissions problem. Have you recently Repaired Disk Permissions? Is the file saved on the same HD or partition where your Home folder resides?

Reader XI freeze when click on attached files in PDF

I am opening an encrypted (AES-256) PDF file that has an attached PDF and Excel document embedded as a file inside the PDF.
If I click on either the attached PDF or the Excel doc, Reader XI will always freeze.
This will not happen in X or 9. Yes, I disabled antivirus. Same result. I tried several different similar PDF files with embedded attachments; same result.
This issue always happens, and I have tested it on three different computers in our shop.
This problem does NOT occur in Reader X. After I upgrade to XI, then the problem always appears.
Can someone else confirm this is a bug?

That will probably not be what the boss wants, as I already pitched it to him.
I am not knowledgeable of the fdf and xfdf ... so I will have to read up on that.
I did try to do a tester using fdf as my choice in document type, but it did not work. I would submit via email, but the document could not open and gave me an error.
appreciate the suggestion and will read up on the different formats you suggested.

Trying to attatch a scanned PDF to an email. When I do the image shows up, like it was just cut and pasted. not a seperate file that is opened. thoughts?

That's pretty much how Mail displays one page PDF attachments. Multi page documents will show as an icon.
But, it's all just for show, they'll both be sent as attachments.

Trying to Attach Files to an Oracle Database Engine

My client performed a complete backup of their Oracle folder (Windows). They simply used Windows Explorer by dragging and dropping the folder on to an external drive. Now that I have the files, I need to know how to "attach" them to my local Oracle database engine. I need to do this so that I can add a new Data Connection in Visual Studio. Or, if I login to the database server, I want to see my client's databases.
Can anyone help me?r
