Outlook de-activates my add-in when opening a saved e-mail (.msg)
Hi,
I have created an Outlook 2013 custom ribbon add-in (vsto) which works just fine. I can open an e-mail and my add-in tab is active and can do stuff.
I now save an e-mail as an .MSG and later double-click on it. It is then opened in an inspector even if Outlook is not running which is exactly what I want. But, and this is the problem, Outlook deactivates my
add-in and my ribbon tab is gone. I now have to go to manage com add-ins and re-activate my add-in.
Is there somehow a way to open the message without deactivating my add-in?

So your saying .. though I only deleted my e-mail account in account settings ... my e-mail account and all contacts are in the same file? is this because I'm using IMAP? I know in past when I used pop3 deletig e-mail account
did not delete contacts ...
If these files deleted... they must be somewhere I can retreive them maybe it's on my IP provider server?
By the way now my subfolders which were missing --that I could see on my webmail are now on my desktop outlook .. I guess it finally synced... but still nothing at all on contacts! Blah!

Problem occurring when opening and saving files in AI SC5 with Windows 7
Hi, I ‘am a Graphic Designer and first time working in UAE Windows 7 is basically the only OS here. My PC is:
HP Elite 7000
Intel® Core™ i5 CPU 2.67GHz
4GB RAM
32-bit
Now to the problem, not that knowledgeable in IT stuff so here goes:
1. Problem occurring when opening and saving files in AI SC5 with Windows 7. (You will actually see a “Not Responding” word coming out while opening and saving files, whether small or large files)
2. Locked layers occasionally are moved accidentally.(Working on multiple layers is normal so we need to lock it specially the once on top. But there are times I still manage to select locked layers)
3. After typing and locking the text, pressing “V” for the arrow key shortcut is still added to the text that is locked. (After typing I lock the text layer with my mouse and Press “V” to activate the arrow key… yes the arrow key is activated but the text is still typing the actual keyboard pressed)
I’ve only use the brand new PC and installer for a month now. Not sure if this is compatibility issues or something else I’m not aware of.

Cheers!!!Well I’m still wondering if it is compatibility issues because I’m also having problem with Photoshop CS5. These 3 are all bought at the same time (PC, Illustrator and Photoshop installers). The problem I’m having in Photoshop is not that too important, every time I Ctrl+O to view files, all PSD are shown in white paper like icons, no preview, and saving as well.
Or I just purchased a corrupted or pirated installers… Adobe updates are done every time I’m prompted. -
Office 2013 applications cannot be made to show the "Documents" folder when opening and saving files
(Windows Server 2012R2 and Windows 8.1 PRO)
We are redirecting the user's "Documents" folder to the network (using Folder Redirection). The OS hides this fact however, and most applications simply see the "Documents" folder when opening or saving files, including Office 2003.
Office 2013 however displays the actual path, which in this case is:
\\sever1\redirect$\username\documents
Even if you forcibly set the "Default local file location:" in the Options Save area to the 'Documents' folder in, say, Word, Word immediately converts the local path to the network path.
Is there anyway to get Office 2013 to follow the virtual path? All of other apps follow it and expose the users only to "Documents".

DanaThere's nothing in my FAQ concerning screen savers, so I'm unsure why you decided to take that approach. From your description, it looks like you only tried a few of the suggestions before throwing in the towel. That's fine, it's your call.
I don't have the problems you described with 10.4.7. Usually when folks have problems after an update, these are caused by either installing an update on an already-corrutped system or they've installed third-party applications or hardware that have been rendered incompatible by the update.
Before installing software updates, you may wish to consider the advice in my "Installing Software Updates" FAQ. Taking the steps therein before installing an update often helps avert problems and gives you a fallback position in case trouble arises.

after modifying a document in Pages ON MY IPAD AIR I found that there are horizontal lines across every line break when opened and saved it in DropBox. Does anyone know why?
Thanks a lot for your swift response. And sorry if it was a bit too hectic to go through my detailed query (which I did because it was misunderstood when I asked previously). As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

Program error when opening or saving. Any fixes or workarounds?
I've been having troubles with opening and saving files in Photoshop CC since upgrading to Yosemite. The problem usually occurs when the save or open command is part of an action. I have the latest updates of both photoshop and Yosemite. It sounds like it's a known bug but I'd really like a solution or a workaround. Any suggestions?
Any other suggestions? As I stated in my original post, I have the most updated version of both photoshop and Yosemite. It was the first thing I checked.

Do the folio overlays created using CS5.5 need to be created again when changing the file to a CS6 version? For example, a scrollable frame is created in the Indesign file/folio while using Indesign CS5.5. Then later, the file is opened and saved again after CS6 is now being used—it's saved for CS6, no longer 5.5. V27 is being used for DPS. Thanks.No.

GB problem when opening a saved song
I am using the most recent update of garageband for my ipad2. When i attempt to open a saved song, gb will not do it and simply closes. This does not happen with other songs. Can anyone advise?

In the FM'S u might have declared the import,export,tables parameters.So u have to use these parameters in the source code editor of FM.If u don't use any of these parameters and try to use any other parameters which also not declared in the FM source code,then u will get the error.pz check the parameters u r using in the FM....

CS3 crashes when Opening and saving files - also runs slow
Today, while using photoshop, it locked up on me & I had to force quit. It then wouldn't open a file either via Bridge or the open menu. I could create a new file, but it would hang while attempting to save.
I downloaded and ran the FixVCUIFramework, and it allowed me to open and save 1 file, before it started not saving or opening again. Running the Fix again has no effect.
I switched to another user account, and everything works fine - in fact PS runs much speedier in the 2nd user account than in my main account. I hadn't noticed how slow it had become in opening and saving.
Any ideas of where to look in trying to repair my main account? I don't want to have to migrate everything over to the 2nd account. Bridge in the 2nd account doesn't allow me to open all my folders, so I'd prefer not to work totally with a new user account.

An Archive and Install of the OS will give you a fresh system in your regular account while preserving your settings. Should take you less than 45 minutes.
But you may want to try deleting your Photoshop preferences and running the 10.4.11 update over your existing 10.4.11 system first. That may work too, and it would be faster. -
Photoshop CC 2014 Crashes When Opening or Saving PNG Files
I'm having an issue where opening or saving PNG files causes my copy of Photoshop CC 2014 to crash.
I've updated to the latest version, restarted my computer and have no plugins installed. I have also re-installed the program from the Creative Cloud application, although I haven't tried a full uninstall/reinstall sequence.
I'm running an x64 version of Windows and have tried both the 64 and 32 bit versions of Photoshop - neither works.
Other file formats don't appear to cause any issue - the problem is specific to PNG files (does Adobe Photoshop depend on any PNG library like LibPNG? Perhaps an older version has been installed by a different application?)
This issue seems to have occured in the past on the Adobe forums, but there is no clear resolution.Part of the information is missing but your running CC 14.1.2 not CC 2014, and14.1.2 needs to be updated to 14.2.1. Losing Add-Ins When Opening Multiple .DOCM Files
Our engineers are opening some 2003 documents with macros and converting them to 2007 .docm files. When they open up one file, the add-in toolbar is there with all the dropdown items and macros. When they open another file, the toolbar is there
but no dropdown and macros exist on the toolbar. Anyone can reproduce the issue on another computer. We also tried turning on and off trusting the macros and the same thing happens. Here is some of the different ways the engineer tried:
In Word 2007:
I disabled the trusted location I added (My Documents).
I disabled Trust access to the VBA project object model.
I set macro security to Disable all macros with notification.
Observations:
When I open the first document (*.docm) and enable the content the calculation toolbar menu items are present.
When I open the second document (*.docm) and enable the content the calculation toolbar is present with no menu items.
It doesn’t matter how I open the files (i.e., from Windows Explorer or recent files).
It doesn’t matter the order the files are opened as long as the macros are enabled in the order the files were opened.
If the first document is a *.doc and the second is a *.docm then this behavior is observed.
If the first document is a *.docm and the second is a *.doc then this behavior is
not observed.
I tried the following sequence:
1.
Open file A:
a.
Toolbar present, menu items present, macros disabled.
2.
Open file B:
a.
File A - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros disabled.
b.
File B - Toolbar present, menu items missing, macros disabled.
3.
Enable macros in file B:

I stopped after that…Are the files all based off the same template and has that template been converted?
Click on Developer Tab, choose Document Template. At the top under Document Template, see what the template name is.
If the template is still it dot format, try converting it to the new format. Make a backup of the dot file first.
Under the developer tab, try attaching the converted template to the files and see if this makes a difference.

Outlook 2007 Clients Prompt For Password When Opening
I am running Exchange 2007 Standard. New outlook 07 clients prompt for password each time it is opened. Older clients do not prompt for password. Is there any way for outlook 07 to not prompt for password? Users already logged into domain, should their credentials not be recognized automatically like with outlook 03?

I was having the same issue. SBS2008, Exchange 2007. Only being prompted in Outlook 2007 clients. Tried a lot of different things to fix it, but none worked. This started happening after a round of security updates but I could not find KB2412171 on the list. -
At my wits end with this issue, it seemed to have started with the 10.10.1 upgrade and continues with 10.10.2. Only when you are in an open application (it’s fine if I am looking at files on the desktop) and go to open or save a file the pop up window opens and then seems to open again and as I try to navigate through the files it pauses and I get a spinning beach ball for 15 seconds to a minute each time. Then the ball is gone for a few seconds and comes back again … eventually I can get to a file but it can take several minutes to get to one file through this process. The delays seem to get worse the more I try it. I have been dealing with a senior CPU adviser from Apple for the last four weeks on this issue and the conclusion after all of our testing and a half dozen data logs is that the engineers are continuing to collect information on the problem from others and will hopefully identify and fix it some time but can’t offer any further advise. As of now I am forced to run 10.8.5 (without any finder issues) on a second partition in order to do any meaningful work. I have a mid 2010 27” iMac with 16Gb ram and a 3TB fusion HD. Here’s what I have done so far to try and fix this:
- went through all of the cleaning and maintenance items using the OnyX utility program including;
fixing permissions, running all maintenance scripts, rebuilding system databases and deleting the system, user, internet and fonts cache.
- running Disk Utility repair and permissions.
- used Disk Warrior to rebuild and optimize the disk
- tried turning off Spotlight and iCloud.
- started up in safe mode
- zapped the PRAM and reset the SMC
- used terminal to delete Finder settings and disable auto-mount of network shares
- reinstalled a combo update of 10.2.2
- tried different user accounts
- did a fresh install of 10.2.2. on a second partition (the problem was still duplicated here)
I have to say I am disappointed of late with what seems to be a lot of bugs coming out from the latest Apple software releases. Am I going to have to live with this setup and just wait for Apple to hopefully identify this as a bug and offer a fix sometime in the future? … can anyone offer any further advise?

Photoshop CS3 crashing when opening or saving files
I wonder if anybody here know why this problem won't disappear even after reinstalling my Photoshop CS3? Whenever I try to open a file (any image format) or save by using Cmd+O, Cmd+S or the File menu in Photoshop, Photoshop is crashing. Brutal crash, goes down. This means I can't save anything I create. Exporting via "export to web" is working, but I can't save (or save as) PS documents.
I have deleted all prefs files etc, and reinstalled Photoshop CS3, but that did nothing.Hi. In particular, I would check for updates to your Photoshop application. The disk installed version of Photoshop CS3 had various problems with Leopard. As I remember, one of the problems was crashing when using the Open and Save dialog boxes. If for some reason you can't update to the latest version of CS3, or you're already at the latest version, you could try going into the Photoshop preferences and seeing if there is a toggle for Adobe dialog boxes vs Apple dialog boxes. I recall CS3 having such a setting but I can't find it in CS4 right now. I also recall having a similar problem with CS3 and Leopard until I ticked that checkbox one way or the other. Good luck!

Crash when opening Exchange ActiveSynch e-mail account settings (DAEAS)
Hi,
I created an Exchange ActiveSynch email account on a brand new IPAD with about 1 GB MEM in use and 10 Apps on it. I deleted all other email accounts from my IPAD. All worked fine for some days, but now opening email app crashes and app is closed after few seconds. This does not depend on the default account setting.
Trying to delete Exchange email account does not work either, because as soon as I touch the Exchange account button in email settings, it crashes and closes setting app.
Last action on email setting was, as I remember, that I enabled Calendar and Contacts in this account. I also remember, that emails worked afterwards.

Either Exception Type is EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) or Exception Type is EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Code is KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE
The Thread which crashed has about 500 continues entries of "DAEAS".
(process logs: dataaccessd_xxx, MobileMail_xxx, Preferences_xxx)
Logs have been automatically sent to Apple, if this is not done by email.
Trying to delete this account after rebooting failed also. Resetting IPAD (Content and Settings and also Network) and restoring backup does not fix the problem.
I also turned off automatic synchronization and WLAN / Mobile Networks to disable automated synchronization.
Other email accounts can be created or deleted, but as soon as email app is opened, it crashes due to still existing exchange account, which cannot be deleted in normal way.
Is there any workaround / tool, how I can delete exchange account without using the Settings => Exchange => Delete Account combination, because thread crashes as soon as I open Exchange Account menu. Is there any tool to clean email content or account settings from IPAD?
I do not want to spend time for a complete new installation and configuration process for all apps with "reset to factory setting" without latest restore.
Are there any other ideas?

Seems to be the Issue is Syncing emails, now I would recommend you to Remove and Add the Account and try and check if the emails are getting synced automatically.
Hope this is with Single User. If it is with Multiple Users then we need to check the permissions assigned.

View by when opening or saving pdf files
I am currently using Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.4 on Windows XP. When attempting to open or save a file through Acrobat or the Acrobat plugins, the file dialog box will start in the list view. If I attempt to change the view to details, it will change but will change back to list when attempting to open or save again. This has been reproduced on multiple computers which are very similar. This issue is only affecting adobe acrobat, as all other programs (including windows explorer browsing inbetween folders) already are set to show the detail view.
Is there anyway to either make the changes stick, or to permanently have it reset to detail view instead of list view?This does not seem to be Acrobat issue. It happens with other products too. Tried with Notepad and WordPad and it does not retain the File View settings. File>Open or File>Save dialogs are Windows dialog and settings that affect the file view is totally Microsoft's settings. I was browsing through the same issue and people have complaint about the same etc. However, I could not find the registry key which changes this setting.
