Outlook email account not working

I am not a MAC person but I have tried everything I can think of. This is for one of our customers and we are just trying to help them out. It is running Mavericks OS with Outlook 2011 v14. The issue is we can put different email addresses in but the one we want to use will not work.
-For example: We put put in [email protected] and it works. We can put in [email protected] and it works. send receive no problem.
-We change it to [email protected] and it says it sent but never gets delivered. She can receive just fine. EXACT same settings and same server for all the emails. Also tried [email protected] and same issue
-We have deleted all of the email settings and started over / no luck
-We have compared outlook to another identical machine /no differences we can find
-We put [email protected] on 2 different windows machines at our office using outlook and it works fine so I do not see how it can be server related.
I have never had anything like this happen on Windows or MAC and I am out of ideas.
I would appreciate any advise no matter how crazy it might be.

Bump.
Really finding no solution to this.  It makes zero sense.  Any help would be appreciated!

  • POP Email Account Not working after update to 1.1.1

After I updated to 1.1.1, I noticed my email wasn't working quite right, so I did a complete restore, and in the process of setting everything back up, I can not get my personal pop email account to work. After creating a new account with the "Other" option, I enter all the correct information, and when I hit "save", I get this message: Secure Connection Failed, Certificate for "Personal" may be invalid.
It then gives me the option to Cancel or Continue, but hitting continue just hangs. Any thoughts? It was working properly before the update, and my desktop client is still connecting and receiving emails, so nothing has changed on my ISP's end.
    Thanks,
    Kenton

Given that other posts mention two prompts: first that "certificate may be invalid" and second "would you like to connect without SSL?" (paraphrase), I decided to hit "continue" on the first dialog and see what happened in my case. After doing so, I was NOT prompted a second time, so it would SEEM that my SSL connection completed normally after all. For others in this circumstance who require/demand SSL, you may want to try continue on the first prompt to see if it just works.
By all appearances, I still have a secure pipe to my email. It's a shame that this prompt and the results of "continue" aren't better at indicating what the actual issue is.
Note that in my case, I'm probably prompted about the certificate because I don't have a globally-signed SSL cert. I am just using one that I created myself and imported into the Mac OS X keychain. This cert was sync'd beautifully (thank you Apple!) to my phone originally, and appears to still be working. A check of the mail prefs on the iphone still show both inbound/outbound mail to have SSL "on" so it doesn't appear to have been disabled by 1.1.1 or by my pressing "Continue".
I believe that this 1.1.1 update was a deep enough update of the OS that it is merely warning me again (in an unfortunately cryptic way) that the certificate is not signed by global cert authorities. I think it did the same thing when I first set up the iPhone (1.0) but hasn't prompted me again like this on any updates since.

  • Setting up email account not working

i went on my blackberry and set up my email account and nothing happened. no email icon on home screen, no emails, nothing. then i tried getting a new service book and registering by going options-> advanced options-> Host Routing Table -> register and then reset my blackberry again and set up the email account again and it still doesnt work. i even tried setting it up on the website and it says "a email icon should appear on your home screen" but nothing appeared. I have a data plan so im sure i can set up a email but its just not working. I googled all the instructions online and tried them all at least once and none of it works )= any suggestions or new ideass?
    thx in advanceeee

oh days? lol, it should happen with a couple hours at the most.
Are you certain you've got your device PIN registered on your service provider's network?
I would suggest you double check with them that ALL is correct and your plan is correct. It must be if you are able to login to your BIS BlackBerry account site.... but still, if not email is setup after "days" you've got some larger problem.

  • New iCloud email account not working - duplicate/ambiguous directory match error

I set myself up a new iCloud account this morning once I got iOS 5 loaded on my iPhone 3GS. I was able to create a new @me.com email address, but I think I might have stepped on someone else's existing address as when I send it email, I get a rejection immediately with "duplicate/ambiguous directory entry". iCloud email doesn't work on iCloud.com, and iCloud mail account on the iPhone tells me the user or password is incorrect.
Other than that, iOS 5 is working great so far!

Same symptoms - let's look at the "cause". I was digging in my iPhone settings and although I did everything as prompted in the iCloud setup here is what has actually happened under the hood.
First - What iCloud guided me to do.
•I had a @mac Apple ID I decided to use it for iCloud
•iCloud said I neeeded a new @me address to use mail and iMessaging and asked me to set one up
•I set up a new @me email address
    Sencond - The Results
•I can receive email at my new @me address (expected)
•I can login to iCloud online with my old Apple ID (expected)
•I can not send outgoing mail - error on password (unexpected)
Third - Under the Hood (Settings that are a little odd)
On my iPhone, under Settings -> Mail, Contacts, etc -> iCloud -> Account,
At the very bottom under "Advanced" is the email info, now this should be the new active @me address but its NOT! It's my old AppleID with the @mac address - which of course no one can use for "real email" anymore.
iCloud on my phone is attempting to use my @mac address for outgoing messages!!!! ARGH!
WORSE is you can not edit this! You can click and see details, change the "name" but you can not change the address!
I think this might be the issue for all of us on this thread - check it out and see. If so it's something we will def. have to have a fix from apple for. :-( That or perhaps delete your iCloud account, your existing Apple ID and get a new @me Apple ID that will work for email as well. (PITA!) I hope we get a fix from Apple.

    Hi,
Currently having an issue with my me email account on my new iPhone 5s. I restored from an iPhone 5 backup a few months ago when setting up my new phone and I can't seem to get my emails or calendar working for my me account. It still works fine on my ipad though so I don't believe it is down to the account itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you :)

After upgrading to Yosemite, one of a few other problems, is that I can't connect to my Telus email account. I re-entered username, and password, I get a message that the password can't be transmitted securely, I go ahead anyway but it still doesn't connect, i called up Telus i spent 3 hours on the phone trying to resolve this problem , Telus got it back ,but only for a while, they finally gave up.I called Apple they got the Telus Email back , but still can not keep the server working, i really complained to apple about this new OS X update, and told them they are creating more problems , with those awful updates, they apologize , and trying to fix the problem, my TELUS account is still not working.I will try again tomorrow. What a day wasted on the phone

Hi.  I have a Curve 8330 on the Sprint network.  About a day and a half ago I stopped receiving my emails on my phone.  I can't send email either.  SMS, MMS, Blackberry messenger all work fine.  My email account works fine if I log in through the browser.  My wife has the same phone and also has a hotmail email account and hasn't had any problems.

As far as Snapz Pro X 2 functionality, some major backend Digital Rights Management changes enacted by Apple may be what is preventing you from recording movies you were previously able to record using our software. Basically, our program can no longer access videos before the DRM protections are enabled, unfortunately we have no control over these changes. Please see the following FAQ:http://www.ambrosiasw.com/support/faqs/products/snapz-pro-x /Why-does-the-content-of-my-capture-display-as-a-checkerboard
BTW I am current on the latgest version.
Does anybody know how to work around my problem? I need to be able to record videos on my computer.

  • Verizon email account not working

I have a 2nd Gen IPAD that's been working fine for a couple years now and it recently stopped sending email.  I've gone through the Verizon support desk and all the settings are fine.  My home computer uses the same settings and it's fine.  The IPAD will receive email just fine, it just can't send email.  I get the following error,"The connection to the outgoing server smtp.verizon.net failed."  I'm using the new Port address: 465, I'm using SSL and Password Authentication.
    What's the issue?

you probably already have - but google 'verizon e mail set up' and get the current stuff.  your error is something in the set up of the outgoing server.  double check the port, the server name, and re input your password.
From time to time they change their settings, and whgile most of the time they migrate users to the new settings  If you recently upgrade your ios, or made other changes to your account, they may be seeing this as a new account needing the current parameters.
If that does not help, look through their support pages.  If you are having this problem, other verizon users are as well.  And there may be a help article sitting there.
sometimes, as dumb as it sounds, it is easier to delete the mail account and start over....

Why not just create an Apple ID for her and then you wont have any problems. Login on iMessage and Facetime using her ID and do the rest with your ID. It will work i tried it on my iPad

  • Access to Outlook Anywhere does not work

    Good evening,
I recently installed an Exchange Server 2013 CAS / MB.
Until now, the server presented a few errors (mainly in the
event log) that does not seem to significantly influence functionality.
This week I published the server on the Internet and verified various malfunctions
related to the access from outside.
    In particular from outside:
    1 - OWA does not work with Windows integrated authentication, it works with the Forms based authentication;
2 - Outlook Anywhere does not work from internet.
I've done a lot of research and testing without success.
With regard to the first issue (which is not a priority but can relate to second one)
add that in Firefox I get a first authentication request. If
I enter credentials it ask again for identical authentication (repeatly), if I cancel it shows a second one that instead allows me access (are slightly different).
I assume that the first is the integrated Windows application and the second is basic authentication.
Internet Explorer shows me only the first authentication request and if I cancel shows blank page.
    The problem is
    priority 2:
Outlook connects without problems on LAN network, the Internet
seems to download the correct information
(autodiscover), but then does not connect
to the server (connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable).
If you manually edit the settings,
    auto-configuration server returns as
a [email protected]. If I change
manually the server (and proxy settings
http), the result does not change.
    - Setting information -
    The server is installed
in the LAN network and is exposed on the Internet through
a firewall (Pat on port 443, et al. not 80)
    on a public address.
The public and private DNS have been configured with a
    host record (A) and two
    CNAME (webmail and autodiscover).
    The internal Outlook clients connect
    with autodiscover and HTTPS /
    NTLM / SSL (Outlook connectivity
    status).
    IMAP, SMTP, POP, ActiveSync function.
Exchange remote connectivity analizer retrieves Autodiscover information but doesn't pass test for RPC/HTTP access (it discard accesson
port 443 and try port 80, SPF isn't configured).
    The navigation to the url
https://proxyexternalURL/rpc/rpcproxy.dll  has the same behaviour like problem 1.
Test-OutlookConnectivity returns unmanaged error ('WARNING: An unexpected error has occurred and a Watson dump is being generated: Failed to find the probe result for invoke now request id -- and probe workdefinition id --').
Errors in eventviewer: 5011 - WAS (one time), 139 - MSExchange OWA (some not ripetitive), 3028 - MSExchangeApplicationLogic (every 6 hours), 106 - MSExchange common (many during working hour), 65535 - application (some at nighttime 00.00 - 03.00 a.m.), 1006
    - MSExchangeDiagnostic (every 30 min), 6002 - MSExchange Mid-Tier Storage (about every 5 minutes), 5 - MSExcahnge Workload Management (one time).
    Ask for further information.

    Outlook Anywhere (RPC over HTTP).
Has been used an account for which
    outlook anywhere works. The account
for which the outlook anywhere does not work is
    an administrative account and therefore
can not be used in the test.
    Autodiscovery returns the
    same result for both mailbox.
    I'm testing RPC/HTTP connectivity.
Testing RPC over HTTP has not been exceeded.
    Test steps
Microsoft connectivity Analyzer is attempting to test the Autodiscover service for user_test@domain_name.test.
Test the Autodiscover service has not been exceeded.
    Test steps
I'm trying to contact the Autodiscover service with each method available.
I was not able to contact the Autodiscover service with no method.
    Test steps
I'm trying to test the possible URL for the Autodiscover service https://domain_name.test/AutoDiscover/AutoDiscover.xml
The test of this potential URL for the Autodiscover service has not been exceeded.
    Test steps
I'm trying to resolve the host name domain_name. DNS test.
I was able to resolve the host name.
    IP addresses are returned: xxx.yyy.zzz.www
I'm testing the TCP port 443 on the host domain_name. tests to check that is open and listening.
The door has been opened properly.
I'm testing the validity of your SSL certificate.
The SSL certificate has not exceeded one or more validation controls.
    Test steps
Microsoft connectivity Analyzer is attempting to obtain the SSL certificate from the remote server domain_name. test on port 443.
Microsoft connectivity Analyzer got the remote SSL certificate.
    Remote certificate subject: E = it_staff@domain_name.test, CN = * domain_name. test, OU = it staff, O = domain_name, L = city, S = state, C = test issuer: E = it_staff@domain_name.test, CN = * domain_name. test, OU = it staff, O = domain_name,
    L = city, S = state, C = test.
I am validating the certificate name.
I could not validate the certificate name.
More info about this issue and how to resove it
    The host name domain_name. testing does not match any name found on the certificate and server = it_staff@domain_name.test, CN = * domain_name. test, OU = it staff, O = domain_name, L = city, S = state, C = test.
I'm trying to test the possible URL for the Autodiscover service https://autodiscover.domain_name.test/AutoDiscover/AutoDiscover.xml

Microsoft connectivity Analyzer is attempting to obtain the SSL certificate from the remote server autodiscover. domain_name. test on port 443.
Microsoft connectivity Analyzer got the remote SSL certificate.
    Other details
    Remote certificate subject: CN = webmail. domain_name. test, OU = it staff, O = domain_name, L = city, S = city, C = test issuer: CN = domain_name-DC1-CA, DC = domain_name, DC = test.
I am validating the certificate name.
    I validated the certificate name.
    Other details
I found the host name autodiscover. domain_name. test in the voice of the alternative name of the certificate object.
    Elapsed time: 1 ms.
I am validating the reliability of certificates.
I was not able to validate the reliability of the certificate.
    Test steps
Microsoft connectivity Analyzer is attempting to generate certificate chains to a certificate CN = webmail. domain_name. test, OU = it staff, O = domain_name, L = city, S = city, C = test.
I failed to build a certificate chain for the certificate.
    Other details
Failed to generate the certificate chain.
May be missing the required intermediate certificates.
I'm trying to contact the Autodiscover service using the HTTP redirect method.
I was not able to contact the Autodiscover service using the HTTP redirect method.
    Test steps
I'm trying to resolve the host name autodiscover. domain_name. DNS test.
I was able to resolve the host name.
    IP addresses are returned: xxx.yyy.zzz.kkk
I'm testing the TCP port 80 on the host autodiscover. domain_name. tests to check that is open and listening.
The specified port is blocked, is not listening or doesn't produce the expected response.
More info about this issue and how to resove it
I encountered a network error while communicating with the remote host.
    I'm trying to
    find the
    SRV DNS record _audiscover._tcp.domain_name.test.
    I failed to find
    the SRV record of the
    Autodiscover service
    in DNS.
    Some clarifications:
    1 - xxx.yyy.zzz.www and xxx.yyy.zzz.kkk
    are two static public addresses
    of which only the latter exposes Exchange services;
    2 - The certificate
    *. Domain_name.test is not related
    to Exchange services;
    3 -I imported the certificate
of the issuing CA on the standalone test PC to validate the certificate.
3- The port 80 is not open and are not published SRV records.
    Best regards.

  • I am having real problems with my hotmail account not working on my iMac

I am having real problems with my hotmail account not working on my IMac but works absolutely fine on my Iphone 5. Can anyone help with the setup for iMac. I am with BT for my Broadband. I am cionverned if I route my Hotmail accoutn to GMail will iy stop working on my Ipone.

How are you accessing Hotmail?  Via your web browser?  Are you using Apple Mail?  Outlook?
The answer will be different depending on how you want to access Hotmail.
If you are using an email client (like Apple Mail, Outlook, Entourage, etc.)) then you need to set up a mail account in your email software.
The incoming Hotmail settings are these:
    Incoming server: pop3.live.com
User name: Your full Hotmail email address (aka "me @ hotmail.com" or "me @ live.com")
    Password: Your Hotmail password
    POP port: 995
Use SSL to connect : yes
    The outgoing Hotmail settings are:
    Outgoing server: smtp.live.com
User name: Your full Hotmail email address
    Password: Your Hotmail password
SMTP port: 587 (override the default port if necesssary)
Use SSL to connect : yes

  • Exchange email will not work when offline

Anyone know when Apple will fix this issue?  Email will not work correctly unless connected to wireless.  This makes it impossible to be productive while flying.  This is exclusive to exchange servers as it woks on POP accounts.

I know that.  When I work on my laptop I can file, reply, delete etc. and when I land it updates all the folders and sends and recevies all the mail.  the iPad will not let you file or delete emails unless connected.  This makes flying time completely unproductive.  If I have to have a laptop to do email why have an iPad???
