I installed and I cannot get outlook express to work

Outlook express will not run on win 7. There is a similar free email client called Windows Live Mail that looks and feels like it. Should you want to export your mail from OE let us know.

Hello there! thanks for the reply. of course, i made a mistake, i meant to ask about MICROSOFT OUTLOOK in fact, not outlook express. It sometimes happens that when i hit the reply button, it opens up an error message, that prompts me to the VISTA procedure for resolving mistakes, which often doesn't work. But once it did point me finally to a window telling me that there is no upgrading for that error for MS Outlook for windows vista.
Do you have any advice? you think i should remove and then re-install MS outlook?

Transfer mail from Outlook express 6 on Windows XP to Mail on iMac

I want to transfer mail from Outlook express 6 running under Windows XP to Mail on a Macbook Pro running Tiger.
I have a network set up and can access the outlook identities, but neither Entourage nor Mail will recognise the entities when I try to use the import function. I suppose they are looking for outlook express 5 which runs on Mac OS 9.
Is there a way to do this. I would think that if Apple is keen for people to move over to Mac, this would be an area which will be a concern to a lot of people.

When I try to send a link to someone from Firefox it's defaulting to Outlook Express instead of Windows Live Mail which is what I use. How do I change that?

The size in the website for reading can not be increased. Outlook express does not come with Win 7, they have moved away from that software. Microsoft offers for free download Windows Live Mail that you can configure for your email accounts.

You can sync contacts with applications such as Mac OS X Address Book, Yahoo! Address Book, and Google Contacts on a Mac, or with Yahoo! Address Book, Google Contacts, *Windows Address Book (Microsoft Outlook Express)*, Windows Vista Contacts, or Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007 on a PC. (On a Mac, you can sync contacts with multiple applications. On a PC, you can sync contacts with only one application at a time.)
The address book used by Outlook Express is called Windows Address Book. This is selected under the Info tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes.
If you have manually entered any contacts in your iPad's address book and Windows Address Book includes contact info, you will be provided a merge prompt with the first sync, which you want to select.

Open Outlook Express and go to "tools...accounts".
Click [Add...] --> News...
and finish the wizard with relevenat entries:
Display Name: Your real name or an alias.
e-mail address: your e-mail address (or a fake, ending in .invalid if you want to keep it private or are worried it gets harvested).
News server: newsgroups.ni.com
Finish the wizard.
Now select newsgroups.ni.com and press "Newsgroups..." and subscribe to whatever you desire. You can also
"go to" any newsgroups without subscribing.

I am very new to the iPod touch and it is aslow learning curve for me.
I would like to be able to read and send emails from my ipod. I am with shaw.ca Outlook Express. I figured out how to load my email address in to seetings but I want my contacts there-how do I sync those in?

Iassume you are using Windows SP. if so you can Windows Mail (not Windows Live Mail). You can import your Outlook Express contacts into Windows Mail Contacts. Windows Mail Contacts will sync with your iPod.

How to import Outlook Express WAB into TB

I copied a WAB file that was exported from Outlook Express in a Windows XP machine onto the desktop of a different computer running Windows 7 Home Premium. I then clicked on import > address book> Outlook Express file. It says done, but it never finds the WAB to import and the new address book it created is empty. I have hundreds of emails saved in outlook express on my windows XP machine that I would like to transfer to my new macbook pro. Is there a way to do this?

you can just import it, file->import mailboxes
IIRC that will pull it, never tried it on my own stuff though so im not sure how much and of what it pulls

Having problem sending mail through iMAC to PC outlook express.

i have iMAC MAC OS X 10.3.9 and using mail to send/receive messages.
I m having problem sending messages to outlook Users as when i send any message to them with different font colors so they receive message but in all Black color,and while when i send the same message with different Font color to Mac users so they receive same message which i sent with different Font color.
In both conditions my message in sent item shows all colors which i have done but outlook users do receive message but with all Black color. Plz give me an opinion to solve this problem.

I hope this is the right forum for this post, I don't see one that looks more appropriate .....
I have a brand new iMac. I have an older XP PC with a lot of email in Outlook Express (not Outlook). I want to move it.
I've googled how to migrate the mail, there are lots of responses about using 3rd party utilities, etc.
My question is, is there an Apple "endorsed" method? What's the best method? I'm not keen on installing random applications from other countries to convert all of my mail, etc.
Any tips/advice would be appreciated!

Outlook express ipad synching contacts/address book

Hi, I have just got ipad3, eventually sync'd outlook express across from windows xp, with the help of BT (quick £25.00 quid) so now up and running with emails, sort off. Now trying to sync over contacts/address book. I have tried various options offerred, including apple. So far no luck, It should be easy or am I just hopelesley optomistic? Any easy answers out there? help please.
