On my windows PC outlook express is NOT running and as far as i know, NOT installed.
How do I install Outlook Express??
I want to use my new Imac.....

Disk storage issues frequently happen if the hard disc is over 85% full.    Make sure your trash can is emptied after backing up any files you want to keep elsewhere.

  • Deleted emails in Outlook Express inbox

Deleted items in inbox of Outlook Express was emptied 'automatically' (without a command), probably my inbox was filled to much.
2800 e-mails appeared in the dust bin as a batch.
I transferred (relocated) them to: "Local setting/Application data/Identities", but could not be opened any email.
    Any suggestions friends,

If you carefully follow these instructions, you may be able to recover them.
    1. First CLOSE Outlook Express.
    2. Hopefully you haven’t emptied your recycle bin yet. DON’T EMPTY IT.
    3. Click to open your Recycle Bin and do check it. Do you see any files that end in .bak, like drafts.bak, sent.bak, and
especially inbox.bak. If you do, it’s recoverable. But DON’T right-click and choose restore YET. (If you don’t see the files there, they may be in another folder, which you’ll get to later. At any case, they’ll have the .bak extension.)
    4. If you’re not already viewing details, choose VIEW from the top menu, and click on DETAILS. This is so you can see the
    original file location.
    5. The original file location could look something like this:  - C:\Documents and Settings\Default\Local
Settings\Application Data\Identities\some string\inbox.bak  - (Default could be some other name, some string is the string that you were given, which is different for different users.)
    6. You’re going to have to find that original folder, but you might have to reveal hidden files and folders to do so. Local
Settings are usually hidden.  - Click START, Choose CONTROL PANEL, and Click FOLDER OPTIONS (for Windows 7, you’ll have to click on APPEARANCE AND PERSONALIZATION link first before you can click on FOLDER OPTIONS.) Then click
VIEW and look in the ADVANCED SETTINGS Window for SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS. Click that radio button if it isn’t already chosen, then click the OK button.
    7. Now you’re ready. Find that folder, and look for an inbox.dbx. That is your current INBOX.
    8. Right-click inbox.dbx and rename it inbox2.dbx, just in case
    9. Now you can go back to your Recycle Bin, right click inbox.bak, and choose RESTORE.
    10. That file inbox.bak should now be in the folder you just found.
    11. Right click inbox.bak and rename it inbox.dbx
    12. Now open Outlook Express and your inbox messages should be restored.
OR if that doesn’t work ..
From the Outlook Express Top Menu, click File > Import > Messages >
Choose the email program you use  If it was Outlook Express 6, then choose >Import Mail
    from an OE6
    Store Directory
    > Click OK, and browse for that folder you just found
    > Click and choose inbox.dbx or whichever file you want to restore, those messages should be restored.
In case both methods don't work, then use OE-Mail Recovery http://www.oemailrecovery.com/outlook-express-recovery.html

  • When I click on an email link on a web page, it goes to my Outlook Express inbox, not a new message

It used to open to a new message with the relevant email address in the "To" line. Now it just opens Outlook Express to my inbox.

    Hi, cor-el,
Thank you for responding so quickly!
I tried to follow the instructions, but it didn't work. There are 10 mimeTypes.rdf files on my computer!
I tried to follow the website instructions of
Tools -> Options -> Content / File Types -> Manage
but once I get to Content I am stuck. No Manage button. (there is nothing that says File Types)
    What do you suggest?
    Thanks again.

  • Is it possible that someone can disable my OUTLOOK EXPRESS by not letting me log in my password. and also not allowing me to log in to my gaming account.

Hiya, some time ago I had problems with various things on my pc, any way to cut a long story short I was linked through to some indians and I gave them remote access to my pc and they were cleaning up the Problems and faults, and threats, viruses etc. Telling me all the time that it was a free service etc, etc. So when I realised what it was really going to cost ie(£300) plus!
I immediately pulled the plug and told him that it was not me who made contact but them.
Anyway every now and again my PC starts playing up and I can't use my Outlook express. Because I can't get to contact them, in order to change my password. And also my gaming account, I can't log in becauseit won't let me type in my details,ie: Where I type in my user name it is got mumbo jumbo letters so I can't log in.
Also just about this time I get phone calls from indians asking if I am having problems and offering to sort them out, ie you're is running very slow, threats, we just answer no thanks and hang up. I feel they do infact have something to do with these things. is there anything I can do to put this right?
PS I have taken th pc to a local dealer who completely wiped and cleaned it, and who has serviced my pc several times because of things going wrong, At one point I was literally going to throw it in the dump, it was costing more than the Mortgage.

Did you buy a used iPhone? It appears that it's locked to that account.
However, before going nuts, try this step by step suggestion to change iCloud accounts.

  • How can I, As in IE, I want to click on an icon to access my email, Outlook Express?

I just switched from Internet Explorer 8 to Firefox 10. In IE8, I had an icon, a envelope, on my hope page that I could click on and open my Outlook Express email. How can I do that in Firefox 10?

    Your questions is slightly confusing...
You can set your Firefox Homepage to match that of IE

    Hi Billee.
The problem you are seeing is due to the session downloading the emails failing to complete correctly.
Usually when a session ends, the server receives an "end" marker, and OE (or indeed other mail client programs) recognise that no more exist. The mail client then makes a note of the last email received, so that if more emails are received, and OE checks the server - OE only requests the new emails.
(It's a little more complex than that of course).
If this session fails to complete, the end signal is not received and OE can't determine an end point, so effectively doesn't set one - hence you get them all again.
It could be that a local anti-virus/firewall is interferring with the download, perhaps causing a delay - but not necessarily causing an error message to be displayed. There could be a dodgy email on the server that is failing to download, causing a timeout and eventual stop.
I don't know how easy it is, but maybe you can login to webmail and move all the Inbox emails into a new folder (make one up). It may be possible to move 1000 emails at a time into the Inbox from this new folder, then attempt a fetch from OE after each 1000. (You could practice with just a few at a time to see if this works).

Why don't you try disconnecting your Internet connection.  This may delay things enough that you can stop the email in its tracks.

  • Outlook Express Disk is Full

Periodically I get an error message in Outlook Express that says I can't download mail because the disk is full. I've cleaned out all the old email, but I still can download mail. Is there any way to increase the size of the space for outlook express? Any other solutions I should try?
    Thanks!

    Quit all your Microsoft Applications.
Hold down the OPTION key as you launch OE.
Compact the database. Once completed, throw out the files prefixed with "old" in the MS Users folder.
    try that.
Zap the PRAM on reboot as well.

  • EMAIL issue: Cant download webmail to Outlook Express Again on a late Sunday night ET.

Not sure why this happens ,but it has happened more than once over the last 3 months.  it happened about 3 or 4 times actually.  It is still an open issue.  Also there was a network error on my Verizon wireless phone after that. The support person checked network and said it was okay and then said i need more space in Outlook Express.
Today, my phone email works, but i still cant get the webmail to download to my Outlook Express and all my Outlook Express inbox email is gone.  After the support chat person tried to help, i lose all of my Outlook Express inbox email..so he made it worse.  I want those messages back and i want this to work.  What causes this problem? and why cant it be corrected??? How do i find the ticket he opened? I want to update the ticket.

    Hi gcville,
Sorry you are having difficulty with your email. An agent with access to your account will reach out to you directly by email, private message in the Forums and/or the billing telephone number on your Verizon account for more information or to help you resolve your issue. Please remember to check your spam/junk folder if you do not hear from an agent.

  • Conversion from Outlook Express to Apple mail.

I just bought an IMac. Fine, but how do I transfer all my mail history and contacts from Outlook Express to Apple mail?
    Rudolpf

Try using a search engine with the following: outlook express to apple mail
There are several programs that can do this for you.
On a 4 year old discussion, I read if you have the Outlook Express data file, you can directly import the data.

  • I am not able to import my whole inbox from Outlook Express what can I do?

I need to improve my old but trust email and selected Thunderbird, I downloaded it and it set up most of my folders and a few mails into my inbox. Clearly not everything was correct so I read the help, and uninstalled Thunderbird, set outlook express as the default email client programme, downloaded Thunderbird again and this time all the folders were there with the emails within them - but the inbox only held about 5 emails.. (It should have about 1,500) not sure how to get my old email in... is there a cheat such as move all the email in inbox to a temportary email folder and then reinstall Thunderbird, and then simply move the email from the temporary folder back into the inbox?
Seems to be it should move it without having to do this , but strange things can happen!!

Outlook express is notorious for corrupt DBX files. not always such that things do not work in Ouytlook express.
Tools menu (Alt+T) > import and you can retry the import as often as you like. Each try will create an outlook expresss [number] folder under local folders with what it has obtained in them.
Note that import maiol only hey... your setting apparently came first time round.
I would suggest running one of the DBX repair tools on outlook express toi be sure.

  • My .dbx files were crashed. How to make outlook express repair?

My Outlook Express 6 repair basic kit, didn't help.

    Hey!
The solution to repair DBX files of Outlook Express consist of importing the corrupt files to Outlook Express and then accessing it again.
The very first step is to locate the corrupt DBX files by Registry Editor. After that, follow the instructions given in this post:
    nalavadebela.wordpress.com/2014/04/25/feasible-technique-to-repair-damaged-dbx-files-of-outlook-express/
You can also use Outlook application without losing your DBX files by converting all your DBX files to PST format.
SysInfoTools DBX to PST Converter helps you to process this conversion in batch, i.e. you can convert multiple DBX files to PST at one time.
    Thanks.
