Outlook Express - Not Deleting Emails In Mailbox

I still get emails on Outlook Express even after I select "On Mailbox & Handheld." Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Sorry the above information (i.e. option 1) is wrong!
You need to set the option to Mailbox & Handheld.

Outlook Express not sending email

Hi, I've been using OS 9 for a while now on an old Rev. 1 Blue and white Power Mac, and it's running well, and I've got nearly everything I need going except for one last thing.
Outlook is recieving my mail from a pop server and is supposed to be using smtp to send email. I have all my login info loaded into my account on Outlook, but I get the following error when trying to sync outlook with the SMTP server:
"Mail could not be sent to account "Embarq".
The specified server could not be found."
It reports the error as number -3150.
Any clue as to what's up here?

Can not delete email

Since upgrading to 2.2 I can not delete email. When I try to delete, I get a message that says "Unable to Move Message The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash." I see that other people had the same problem as referenced here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8512901&#8512901 but their problem went away, and mine remains. Have restarted the phone to no avail. Any advise? Thanks.

Do you go to your settings under Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select your mail account and then go to Advanced settings and make sure Deleted Mailbox says On My iPhone and then the TRASH folder is seleted? Maybe try also unchecking the TRASH folder and rechecking it.
Sometimes if you have another e-mail account besides the ones that your having trouble with, try deleted mail from it and then go back to the trouble account and try again.

When launching and opening tabs from links in outlook express not all tabs appear

Since upgrading to Firefox 21 when I click on links in emails in Outlook Express not all the links open new tabs, but when I attempt to close Firefox it says there are more tabs open than are being displayed. Firefox also becomes sluggish to non-responsive during these "evolutions". If I open Firefox first before clicking links in emails it does not display this behavior.

The DDE fix does not appear to address the same problem I'm having. I receive no error windows or indications of any kind, the tabs just never appear, yet when I close firefox it will ask me if I want to close all "X" tabs ( and X appears to equal the number of tabs I tried to open).

If you hold the command key down (the one with the ⌘ on it) and hit the + key you can make the fonts larger. Might help out, I know as I've gotten up there in years I've had to use it more and more
In the mean time while twtwtw mulls this over, can you supply any further information? Did the system crash or didi anything change before you started having the problem? Are you really running 10.5.8 as your profile says?

can not delete emails, namely the emails can not be moved into 'Papierkorb'

I suspect the answer lies with whoever maintains hotmail.

Not deleting email

Have got a BB 8310 i have email setup on the BB no problems getting emails but when i delete emails from my outlook it is still there on my BB as unread but if
i delete from my BB i get option to delete from handheld and mailbox
why is that ????/
i have checked wireless reconcilation is on in mailbox option and delete as prompt

You're on a personal BIS account or a corporate BES account?

Why do I "HAVE" to have "OUTLOOK EXPRESS" for my email? I hate it and don't want it so what can I do about it??

I used to have HOTMAIL for my email and now it's been PERMANENTLY changed to OUTLOOK EXPRESS. OUTLOOK screws up my emails when I want to forward something; if I send someone an email that I got from someone else it shows ALL the information of who sent it to me, etc. I do NOT like OUTLOOK and would like to know how to get rid of it without changing my email address. I know if I switch to gmail I won't be "forced" to have it but I would just as soon not have to do that. Please let me know "IF" there is anything I can do about this.

Not directly; OE is not supported by iTunes. You need full Outlook. Address Book in later versions of Windows is supported.

Mail in Mountain Lion - not deleting emails

i have Mountain Lion and have noticed by emails from an exchange server are not deleting. I cannot move them to trash - an error appears. I have deleted the account and re-submitted.
This occassionally happened in Lion but now my inbox is getting overwhelmed with items to delete

I think I might have solved it myself!! I did two things almost at the same time and it has solved my problem - i am just not sure which did it.
- I deleted some emails - reduced the size of my mailbox which is large.
- I select Rebuild from the Mailbox menu option.
One of those did it!

I have iphone 5c. Having email problem. Does not delete emails showing in inbox from date 8/27 thru 9/23. When deleted, these same emails repopulate in inbox. What is going wrong? How do I fix the problem?

Ihave iphone5c. Does not permanently delete emails showing in inbox. When they are move to Trash then inbox at first shows empty. However if you leave Mailbox and return then all the emails that were previously deleted and now repopulated in Inbox. I have tried various things like marking them "read" before deleting, then moving them to Trash, and they still return. What is going wrong and how do I fix the problem?

What your describing sounds lot like Nortons anti virus, but other do it to.
Multiple copies of the same email over and over are almost always anti virus incoming mail scanning. Turn off scanning and the problem goes away turn it back on and it resumes.
My guess is that your filter issues, and search problems are also related to this uniquitous and most ignored security tool that messes up far more than it should..
Deleting the index
I assume you mean the global-messages-db.sqlite. if you don't close Thunderbird and delete it now. Searches will be incomplete until it rebuilds and the time to do that will have a lot to do with how much mail there is and how busy the computer is.
Now create an exclusion in your anti virus program for the Thunderbird profile folders. My guess is it is trying to scan the files in your profile every time Thunderbird tries to open them and generally turning things into a tug of war, which Thunderbird looses as it just does not wait around if files are locked. It expects exclusive access to it's files immediately, not in 10 minutes when the anti virus has done it's thing. So things get added to the index but not removed. Mails don't move as the destination or source file is "in use" etc.
