Hi,
Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express? Please note we support Outlook in this forum, Outlook Express is a component of IE 6.0 and few people use it anymore in the new century.
Anyway for the Hotmail POP settings, you can refer to Clark's reply.

  • Outlook Express, Outbox errors

When I send an email it stays in my Outbox, and tries to send mutliple times.
the only way to stop it from resendin multiple times is to click on the email in the Outbox, then close it and drag it to my
drafts folder?  Please let me know how to fix this problem

    Hi,
This issue may occur if your Sent Items folder is full. Please try to create a new folder and move everything you want to keep from the Sent Items into it, and delete anything in the Sent Items you don't want so you wind up with an empty Sent Items folder.
Then, in the left folder tree, click the Sent Items so the empty folder is displayed in the right message pane, then at the top of OE on the menu bar click File>Folder>Compact. Now, try to send an email again to check the result. See:
    http://forums.techguy.org/web-email/1024434-outlook-express-emails-remain-outbox.html
If above didn't fix your problem, please have a look at the KB article below and take the steps to troubleshoot the problem:

    Hope this helps.

  • Outlook express/Error occurred while launching. The end of file was reached

I can't get to my e-mail screen because this error message appears and won't
let me access outlook express after my classic enviroment 9 has loaded up.

    David,
No solutipn yet, but I'm still hopeful. However, I would appreciate your comments on the following:
    1. I still could not open Outlook Express, even after rebuilding the desktop--twice--and downloading it again. However, I just noticed that you recommended the use of a OS 9 CD, not a download. I'll look around for the CD if you feel that's the only way to go. Is it?
    2. When I downloaded the OS 9 Outlook Express, the window said to copy it to my Hard disk. I assume that means just to drag the Outlook Express icon to the top of the Hard Disk icon. Is that correct?
    3. If all else fails, what about those programs that have been around for years that facilitate the retrieval of otherwise lost files. Would such a program be helpful in this case? If so, can you mention a few of them? I want to retain some of those files, even if it means having to spend a hundred dollars or so for the necessary software.
    4. Yes, such mishaps can indeed be painful. Fortunately, although I am a bit of a fumble-fingers, the problems I have encountered since I bought my set in 1999 as the result of such clumsiness have been few. It looks like I've been lucky, but that I am paying for it now.

  • Error 4359 launching outlook express.

    Mac os 9.2.2
I was running illustrator 10 when I tried to open Outlook express.
Then I got an error message that said there was an error while opening the
    program error number (4359)
I tried taking all extra fonts out of the system fonts folder and trashed the preference folder, and rebooted with extensions off. Then ran techtools on it.
Still get the same error message.
    What else can i try?
    G4 400   Mac OS 9.2.x   21 GB HD

    Becky, welcome to Apple Discussions.
This text is from the link I provided above.
4359 = "Unexpected end of file" / "Memory is full" / "An unknown error 4359 occurred"
Description: These errors can occur if there is damage to an element of the identity that is used to start Outlook Express.
Solution: The most common cause of the error messages is a damaged preferences file for the currently selected identity. This preferences file stores the settings for the accounts and other settings for the identity. The default location for identities is: Drive: Documents: Microsoft User Data: Identities. NOTE: Your installation may be in a different path than the default path.
To rebuild the identity preferences file:
    1. Quit Outlook Express if Outlook Express is currently running. Locate the preferences file in the currently active identity.
    2. Place the preferences file in the Trash.
    3. Start Outlook Express again. The Setup Assistant rebuilds the account for this identity.
FYI - The OE preference file , named Preferences file, to Trash is located in each of your OE/Identies folders
If Trashing the above preference files does not fix your problem, there is another OE preference file, named Outlook Express Prefs, located in the System/Preferences folder. Trash this one also.
    Cheers, Tom

  • I need to use Outlook Express to apply for jobs and I either don't have it but when I try to send an e-mail on Outlook Express, it won't go through and gives me an error report.....I really need to be able to use Outlook Express to apply for jobs. Help!

When I try to apply for job and when I try to e-mail my resume' and Outlook Express comes up to reply to on, I put in my information, etc but when I hit send, it doesn't go through and says? POP and then error report and doesn't go through.

I can't provide a solution with or without the error message, but without an error message, you are making everyone guess at what you see. I have no idea what you see, and I think someone who might be able to help you solve your problem would need to know what that message says. Is "Outlook Express" (Windows Live Mail) your default email processor, if not what is?

  • Error 0x80007114 "Outlook Express could not be started" when trying to run Migration Assitant.

Trying to run Migration Assistant on a PC (Windows XP).  Error message "Outlook Express could not be started.  The application was unable to initialize the store directory.  Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. Contact Microsoft support for further assistance. (0x80007114)"  Then the Migration Assistant shows a box stating that Outlook Express must be stopped before running the assistant.
I have enough memory.  The disk is not full.  Outlook Express runs just fine on my PC.  And it was not runing at the time.
Apple Support (two tries) and my Apple store have essentially said this is a Microsoft problem.  Of course, Microsoft says it is an Apple program failing so it is an Apple problem.
MS info about the error indicates that it prevents OE from starting.  Than is not my situation at all.  The fix is draconian (as many are) and could risk my OE so I have not gone there - yet.  Hopefully there is another way.
Does anyone have any experience on how to (easily) solve this dilemma.  I am also trying on the MS side.
This is my first MAC.  I was convinced to go Apple by several folks who touted the excellent support.  It was purchased in July 2012 and has been a boat anchor since.  Support??
Thanks for any info you can provide.

So I had this as well.
I went to the file tab and went to export. From there I picked 720p and it worked. It may be different for you depending on the resolution of the video. hopefully it works for you too!

  • Sync error message about mail client - using Outlook Express, wants Outlook

I keep getting a message that "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client"
Outlook Express IS set as my default mail client, both on my computer and on the iTunes screen.
I use Calendar on the iPhone, but do not have sync requested on iTunes for this function.
I do have Outlook on my computer, but do not use it (don't need calendar function at home, but do like to have it on my iPhone since I carry it with me)

I'm having a similar problem. "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client." (iTunes 7.6.1.9)
I sync my contacts with Yahoo! (not Outlook).
I was syncing my calendar with Outlook. This was working just fine, but when I started to get the error above, I have tried turning off the calendar sync. No help there.
I am not syncing any email accounts via iTunes.
Anyone have any suggestions? Given that I'm not syncing with Outlook I don't understand the error. Thunderbird is my default mail client and I shouldn't have to change the system defaults to work around this bug.

    Hi, tsam -
    Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
That error is often returned when one or more of OE's databases gets too full.
Try compacting the databases in OE. This function is a built-in one, and can be done before the program actually loads. To do that, with OE not running hold down the Option key while opening OE.
    • If you're opening OE directly, hold Option down while double-clicking OE's icon.
    • If you're opening OE via the Mail icon in IE's toolbar, hold down Option while clicking that icon.
You'll receive a splash message asking if you want to compact the databases - click OK. Once that is done, you can get rid of the old database files (they'll have been renamed to indicate that they are the old ones).
OE keeps those files in its account (identity) folder(s). If you're not familiar with where those are -
    • Current versions of OE keep them here - (hard drive ) >> Documents >> Microsoft User Data >> Identities >> Main Identity.
    • Older versions of OE kept those in the Identities folder inside the program's folder.
"Main Identity" is the original default account (identity = account); if you've created additional accounts, there will be a separate folder for each in the Identities folder.
It would also be advisable to increase the Preferred memory allocation for OE. Adding 20 or 30 thousand to the original amount is not excessive - more is better.
Article #18278 - Assigning More Memory to an Application
    • Whenever you replace or update a program, you must redo any changes made to its memory allocation amounts - the changes are not carried over to a new or replacement version.
Also, when you update OE or IE, particularly if you have both the old version and the new version on the drive at the same time, reset the default choices for those in the Internet control panel.

  • Weird Outlook Express Error

Hi, I use MacOS 9.2.2 and OutLook Express 5.0.6. I have two email accounts. Lately whenever I go to retrieve email on one of the two email accounts, I get the following error description window: "Error: A message in your Outbox could not be sent. The server did not recognize the recipients. Explanation:
    5.1.1 <[email protected]> recipient invalid domain. Error: 5550
But, when I close the error message box my email is delivered. The other email account works just fine. Is there a fix?
    Happy Holidays!!

    Hi BDAqua,
You are exactly correct!! You have solved this error!!

  • One way sync from Outlook Express gets Unable to read application data error

I have a BB Flip, 8220, and am trying to use Outlook Express as my Contacts organizer.  I have started Outlook express "vanilla" and only have one records in Outlook Express.  I have 34 records in my BB Contacts.  When I run synchronize (and again, I am trying to do this one way, from Express to BB) I get the error "Unable to read application data", "Processing Device Address Book", "Record 34 of 34 Records".
I have read many of the threads.  I have checked the RIM.log file and it says one way sync.  Any clues on how to fix this?  I am on Desktop 4.6, do I need to upgrade to 4.7?
    Please advise.
    Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Well I fixed the problem.  What I did was run a Backup using the desktop mgr software, I then ran a restore, but I used the Advanced option so that I could open the ipd backup file and then select just the contacts database and push that from my computer to the device (using the right arrow copy button in the middle of the Advanced window thingy).  I then reran the Sync and it WORKED!
Doing the backup and restore must have fixed the corrupted record on my phone.  Wonderful.  I was nervous, but it worked jst fine.

  • Type 10 Error with Outlook Express 5.0

We have a PowerMac running OS 9.2.2 that can't open Outlook Express. Each time we try it crashes the system with a Type 10 error.
I've tried reinstalling Outlook with no success.

    Hi, Dan -
Try also compacting the database files. To do that, with Outlook Express quit, hold down the Option key and start Outlook Express up - you'll get a splash screen offering to compact the databases. Click yes.
It may also help to increase the Preferred memory allocation for Outlook Express. Adding 20 or 30 thouseand, or even more if you have the RAM to support it, is not excessive.

  • Outlook Express Error 0x800c0133 (corrupted inbox file)

I use Outlook Express. I can send, but not receive. I have deleted the many emails that had never been deleted, but still can not receive. I have been
told I have a corrupted Inbox file. Something about the Inbox.dbx, but I don't know or how to correct this error.

It may be possible to fix the problem using these steps :
    Open Outlook Express
Click "Local Folders" in the left side navigation
Select New Folder and name it TEMP
If possible move all of the email from your Inbox to the TEMP folder
Go to menu bar and select Tools -> Options -> Maintenance -> Store Folder and then write down the location of your
    inbox
    Close Outlook Express,
Use My Computer to go to the location is step 5 and then delete the file inbox.dbx
Open Outlook Express - The Inbox folder should be auto recreated.
Move your email from the TEMP folder back to your Inbox
I don't know if anyone is still looking for help with this error. It basically means you have too much saved
email in the version of Outlook Express your are using. You may want to try some of the methods listed in
    Outlook Express Fix Toolbox
    Link to free demo version:-

Hope this helps for people who are still getting this error. If you are getting it, I am sure you are dreading
the fact you may lose 'A lot' of your saved emails. Good luck,

  • HT4796 Error 0x80007114 Outlook Express cannot be started.

Window Migration Assistant fails immediately with the above error.  OE runs fine on the PC.

Here is what I am trying to do:
Windows Migration brings the following information from your Windows  PC (Windows XP SP3 or greater) to your Mac:
Email: IMAP and POP accounts from Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail and Windows Live email accounts are transferred to Mail. Email metadata such as read, replied, and flagged are transferred from Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Mail to Mail in OS X.
Contacts: Outlook and Outlook Express contacts, and Windows Contacts from the Contact home directory are transferred to Address Book.
Calendars: Outlook calendars are transferred to iCal
iTunes library, including music, photos, videos and apps and  games for iOS devices, except rentals
Home directory folders and content, including Music, Pictures,  Desktop, Documents, and Downloads
Browser bookmarks and homepage from Internet Explorer, Firefox,  and Safari are transferred to Safari
User settings including localization, locale, and any customized  desktop picture
The problem is obviously somewhere on the PC side since the Windows Migration Program fails on the PC but I am starting with questions here because surely someone in the Apple community has seen this problem and has a solution.
This is the first thing I have tried on my new Mac (first time Mac user) and it failed.  Not a good start Apple!!
The full error on the PC side is "Outlook Express could not be started.  Unable to initalize store directory.  Out of memory or disk full.  (0x80007114)"  SInce OE runs fine on the PC, I have no idea what this means or how to get around it.
Any ideas/help would be appreciated.  I really would hate to have to go to MS with this question...

The Share Point server is running SP 2010 SP2 and the Exchange server is EX 2007 SP 3 I am not sure what roll up. it looks like their is a permissions issue.  But could it be permissions with in SP or EX?  You help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi  ,
Towards the public folder permission issue, there are two permissions included, one is for the server side permission; the other one is for the client side permission.

To use Outlook Web App Web Parts, you must, at a minimum, be delegated "Reviewer" access to the content that you're opening. If you've embedded an Outlook Web App Web Part that requires authentication into
an application, you must pass authentication information through together with the request for the Web Part.
