  • Excluding public folders when enumerating Outlook folders

    I have an Outlook plugin that searches all Outlook folders for certain information.
    However, some users have been complaining that the plugin searches public folders as well, which are huge in certain corporations, and that in turn makes the search very slow.
    I now use the following mechanism to search Outlook folders:
    NameSpace nameSpace = outlookApp.GetNamespace("MAPI");
    Folders accountFolders = nameSpace.Folders;
    try
    if (nameSpace == null || accountFolders == null)
    return null;
    for (int i = 1; i <= accountFolders.Count; i++)
    MAPIFolder accountFolder = accountFolders.Item(i);
    MailItem res = null;
    try
    res = ScanFolder(accountFolder, mailId, scanUI);
    finally
    if (accountFolder != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(accountFolder);
    if (res != null) return res;
    return null;
    finally
    if (accountFolders != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(accountFolders);
    if (nameSpace != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(nameSpace);
    I've tried to look at the MAPIFolder object, but I didn't find any flag that could help me distinguish standard folders from public folders. Is there a way to do that?
    Thanks,
    Jan

    Read the PR_MDB_PROVIDER property (DASL name http://schemas.microsoft.com/mapi/proptag/0x34140102) using MAPIFolder.PropertyAccessor.GetProperty, convert it to hex using MAPIFolder.PropertyAccessor.BinaryToString. For the PF store objects,
    PR_MDB_PROVIDER property will be pbExchangeProviderPublicGuid (78B2FA70AFF711CD9BC800AA002FC45A) - you can see that property (and others) in

  • Mapping Outlook folders to iCloud

    Hi,
    I've setup my iCloud account ****@me.com in Outlook 2010 But the Outlook folders don't seem to map correctly to my iPhone. Inbox is ok, but now have 'Trash' (was always there on phone) and Deleted Items (created after setting up Outlook) 'Junk' and 'Junk E-mail', 'Sent' and 'Sent Items' etc
    Is there a way of only keeping the original mailbox folders on the phone and having them carried over to Outlook instead of using Outlook's own folder structure. Seems pointless have the duplication, surely 1 'Sent' folder makes sense as would 1 folder for Trash, Junk etc???
    Thanks in advance

  • Outlook folders not synchronsing to curve

    Hi, my second post of the day...
    Is it possible to synchronise my outlook folders with my curve 9300. Outlook/e-mail account is a office 365 and it has been setup on the phone as a Internet mail account. We no longer have a BES.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Sorry, but OTA, folder sync is only available for BES-level legacy BB devices, not personal-level email accounts. Refer:
    Article ID: KB28745 Unable to receive email messages on the integrated account when the messages are being forwarded to another sub folder in the email client
    With the newer BB10 devices, server-based folders are fully available for all accounts.

  • How can I save email from GS3 to outlook folders at office?

    Blackberry had a handy feature in which you could save email from BB to Outlook folders on the office computer. I cannot find anything similar on the GS3. Is there a way to accomplish this?

    BB created a dedicated network connection to handle transactions like that to keep it secure, Android doesn't have anything like that so you have to trust a 3rd party company to do this for you and at this time I do not think there is any that has a secure method of doing this.

  • Outlook folders not stored after adding in Sync Wi...

    In PC Sync you can run a wizard to change the settings.
    There are two things going wrong with choosing the folders in Outlook that you want to synchronise,
    You find the folders in this manner:
    Open PC Sync in the main PC Suite window -> Click the button with the spanner (tool); the wizard starts -> Select the data you want to synchronise (Calendar, Contacts and so on) -> Click the spanner tool, this time with a star -> A window asks if I'm sure that I want to change the settings, I click the 'V' -> I Pass the window with the question to select a PC application, I click the arrow -> Again it is asked to selec the data (Calendar and so on), I click the desired categories and click the rightarrow again-> Again the question is to select the profile (only Outlook). At the bottonm there is a button with a folder-icon on it, click the buttton-> four data categories are shown: Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, Notes, each with a fillable field and a button with an opened folder. All the fields are filled with the standard folders (like Personal folders\Calendar) except the field for Notes, which is empty.
    Problem 1: I choose a subfolder in Contacts by clicking on the button. It takes about 10 secs for the list of Outlook folders to open. I click the desired subfolder. It is shown in the field for contacts. Suppose I keep the field for Notes empty and click the 'V'. An errormessage window appears asking me to fill in a folder in Contacts, whilst there is a folder in the field Contacts. Do I fill in a folder in Notes, than the window with the category fields closes normally.
    Anyone familiar with this strange situation?
    Problem 2 is more annoying. I fulfill the wizard and there are no errormessages. I end up with a synchronisation.Then I restart the whole procedure: the wizard is run in exactly the same way. But the folders that I filled in are gone: I see the same default folders returned that you saw the first time and again there is nothing in the notes field.
    This problem is very old. Some times the folders stay stored for a while, but now I can't even store them at all.
    Anyone?

    1) as the other poster suggested that you have teh
    show artwork checked in preferences.
    I do, and it does display artwork for songs that already have artwork before they're uploaded.
    2) you are not manually updating - if you are you
    have to delete the original song (no artwork) from
    you iPod and add back the changed (i.e. with artwork)
    version (for songs not all ready on iPOd just skip
    your step 2 and problem should be resolved)
    I see, that's the problem there. I don't automatically update, because my music library contains songs that I don't necessarily want to put on my iPod.
    Bummer.
    Do you know how to maintain two Libraries? Like one library exclusively for auto-updating the iPod and another with everything? I can handle the movement from ALL library to iPod library manually... It seems redundant, but it would make my life so much easier!
    Thanks for both of your replies... very helpful!

  • Acrobat X Pro converting Outlook Folders to PDF

    I'm having an issue (Or more specifically one of my users is.)
    He has a process flow of exporting EMail folders to PDF when he is done with a related project.
    This keeps his mailbox small and his projects easy to reference.
    Recently when he tries to convert a folder to a PDF it seems to succeed.
    All of the e-mails are readable, but it breaking/corrupting attached documents where it used to neatly embed them into the relevant PDFs.
    They still show up with the correct names and file extensions, they still show that the PDF has an attachment.
    When we attempt to open it however the documents don't work with what ever their native program may have been.
    (Usually blueprints or the like.)
    He accesses Outlook and Acobat Pro through a Citrix farm.
    Is there any settings or permissions I should be looking at to ensure this works correctly for him?
    I haven't been able to find the root cause.

  • User Account changing positions exchange outlook folders needs to move to the new user account

    I have an executive assistant that is moving to another EA position in the company. Her mailbox is structured with 3 or 4 hundred folders in her in box. The person that was in the position she is moving to retired so she has been logging in to that account
    and doing the same thing to her in box.
    When she does move to this position she is going to want to move the files from the retired account to her account and move the files in her account to the new hires account when they are hired.
    My question is what is the best way to handle this situation? Move mailboxes somehow? Export
     and import pst or csv?
    Office 2010 EA that is moving Office 2013 on the EA that has retired. The mailboxes are on an exchange 2010 on site server
    Thanks in advance for any help.

  • My MS-Outlook folders are missing

    I am using Outlook 365. When I open Outlook all of my folders are missing except for the Sent, Inbox and Deleted folders. When I close outlook and reopen them they are all back as if nothing had happened. This has been happening for about 2 days now. What
    can I do to correct this?
    Also, when I go to access a piece of mail I get a lag in the retrieval and the message that Outlook is not responding.
    I would appreciate any help you can give me as these problems are becoming more frequent and more troublesome.

    Do you mean you are using Office 365?
    Assuming you are experiencing the issue on Outlook client with an Exchange account. This looks like a view related issue in Outlook. You might need to run
    outlook.exe /cleanviews to fix your view and try again.
    If you have ever installed any add-ins, you might also need to load Outlook in safe mode, this will disable all the add-ins and macros, use the default form: Press Win + R and type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press
    Enter. If Outlook works well in safe mode, then issue might be caused by some add-ins.
    If there is any misunderstanding here, please let me know. Thanks.

  • Really simple question about Outlook folders that I cannot effectily google an answer for.

    If I create custom folders in Outlook, (Example: Budget, Meeting Minutes, etc.) is there any functional difference in having these folders placed under my Inbox,  vs. under my top level mailbox side by side with Sent Items, Deleted Items, etc?

    Hi Andy,
    There should be no difference in functionality for these two kinds of folders. You can perform all the operations on these two kinds of folders without any difference, for example, delivery messages, create view settings/rules and etc.

  • Except Outlook folders' system, all other suddenly disappear after a custom backup

    As I don't trust Microsoft, a have prepared a daily backup for the PST files onto a different location on the local drive as well as to a network drive in the office. The backup is a BAT file with xcopy command. The BAT instructs Outlook to close through
    taskkill command before starting copy.
    As soon as the backup finishes, Outlook is opened (through 'start Outlook.exe'). The backup system works fine. However,
    SOMETIMES, when the Outlook opens, all the folders, except those of the system (Inbox, outbox, etc) , simply disappear!! At this very moment, my colleagues in the office fear having lost all the e-mails. I just ask them to close and re-open
    Outlook then the folders come back uneventfully.
    Can someone from Microsoft explain why the folders disappear? It is quite strange because it does not happen in certain computers (we have fifteen in the network), but randomly.
    If it help, we use POP3 and all computers retrieve e-mails from at least ten different email accounts being all of them filed in one only PST file.
    We used to use Windows Mail on Windows 7 (of course through a tweaking) and now we migrated all e-mails to Outlook as it appears to be more professional for many reasons. But, once more, I'm fearing that it may be not so good.
    Rogerio Martins

    Hi,
    Since it doesn't really cause the emails/folders to lose, and not all computers have this problem, I may assume if it's 3rd-part add-ins caused the folders not display at the first start.
    Have the users start Outlook in Safe Mode, if the issue will never reappear in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify my assumption.
    Start Outlook in Safe Mode:
    Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
    To disable add-ins:
    1. File -> section Options -> section Add-Ins
    2. At the “Manage” dropdown list at the bottom select which type of add-ins you would like to enable/disable
    3. Press “Go…” and make the changes
    4. For some add-ins you’ll need to restart Outlook for changes to take effect.

  • Using iPhone to back up/transfer all outlook folders

    Hey all!
    I'm upgrading from Vista to Windows7 and need to transfer my existing Outlook personal folders and calendar. If I sync before the install of Win7, making sure all the correct folders are checked beforehand, then sync again once I've installed Win7, will my Outlook calendar and personal folders transfer to my laptop from my iPhone?
    I'm presuming not, though not sure if I'll be pleasantly surprised?!
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Peter,
    In the NSS326 under backup, now click on remote replication and you can enable rysnc to alllow backups. Also at the bottom you can create jobs to replicate to another rsync server.
