OUTLOOK FOR MAC 2011 ERROR CODE 17900

I KEEP GETTING AN ERROR CODE 17900 (INCORRECT USERNAME OR PASSWORD) WHEN RETRIEVING MAIL USING OUTLOOK FOR MAC 2011. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE ADVISE?

It is a pop account through btinternet.com. We have several email pop accounts, the others are fine. The username and password are both correct, but not accepted for the default pop account and continues to ask for the same information.

    Hi everyone,
I also met this issue before few days ago and I was looking forward a best solution for solving this issue too. In the midst of lot of answers
from different users and consultants, I got a blog that was recently published by someone, and then I move towards the blog beside that I discovered a nicer solution. It’s my personal experience. If any of you want to get free by barring this issue then you
also can try this solution once along with if you too wants to switch from Mac Outlook to Windows Outlook, here is a good solution for that matter too.

  • Unable to attach PDF to email (Outlook for Mac 2011)

We are pushing out software upgrades for CS5 and MS Office 2011 for Mac. We've discoverd that we can't use the Attach to email feature in Acrobat. The spinning rainbow wheel pops up for about a minute, and then Acrobat is non-responsive and we have to force quit. We can still drag and drop an attachment so we have a viable workaround but obviously we'd like to be able to use the automated feature.
    All software is up-to-date.
In the preferences panel of Outlook, we have selected Outlook to be the default mail application.
As a sidenote, this feature doesn't work with Acobat X beta either. However, in the beta version of Acrobat X, if we declare Apple's mail application to be the default, it works fine. Unfortunately we use the Office suite as part of our enterprise system, so that's what we need to work with.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've logged a ticket with Adobe but I haven't heard back from them yet.
    Thanks for any advise.

    Take the bhama way
figured out how to make it work.  I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro (mac)
and MS Outlook for Mac 2011.
For those who are interested, this is what I did:
    1. Create a folder on desktop to save your pdf¹s files you want to email
to.  Mine is named, "PDF to Email"
    2. Open Automator, create a "Folder Action"
    3. At the top, "Choose Folder", choose your newly created folder on the
    desktop
    4. Choose the "Rename Finder Items" action from the action list.  I chose,
"Don¹t Add" on the add a Copy Finder Items Action menu.
    5. On the "Add Date or Time to Finder Item Names" I chose, "Name Single
Item" from the first drop down menu.
    6. Click on "Options" at the bottom of that window to select the "Show
this action when the workflow runs" so you can rename your         file
something other than the Acrobat default.
    7. Choose the "Create New Outlook Mail Message" from the action list and
add it below the "Name Single Item in Finder Item Names"
    8. Choose "File>Save As" and give your file a name.  Mine is, "PDF to
    Email".
    9. Close Automator
    10. Open Acrobat X Pro.
    11. Go to "File>Action Wizard>Create New Action"
    12. Here you choose, "Save to>A Folder on my computer"
    13. Choose the folder on the desktop that we saved earlier
    14. Save the file, with the action name you will remember.
Now when you are in Acrobat X Pro and you want to send that .pdf file via
Outlook for Mac 2011, follow the steps below.
With the file you want to email open, go to "File>Action Wizard>(Action
you created) Mine is "PDF to Email".  It will take a few seconds, but you
will get an "Action Completed".  You will get a pop up that allows you to
name/rename the file. Then it should open your Outlook with your .pdf
    attached and ready for sending.
You might need to tweak the actions to suit your needs, but this should
    work for you.

  • Outlook for Mac 2011

I just migrated one macbook Pro to another both using OS X 10.8.5.   When I try to open Outlook I get an error message that says "This identity cannot be opened with this version of Outlook".
It worked and still works fine in the original machine and Word & Excel work fine in the new machine, but not outlook.   I tried removing Outlook for Mac 2011 and reinstalling but I get the same error message.
    Any ideas out there?

Or better yet, start using mac mail. I went back and forth between the two for year, and without getting into specifics or details I went back to mac mail and never looked back. Simple and does everything it supposed. Mac version outlook got stripped of a lot of functionalities that the pc version includes. With rare fixes, updates, and frequent problems between lost mail, corrupt identity files and mail which hangs up during the sent process just shows you that they half as*ed the mac version of outlook. Save your frustration and switch.

  • Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 is Crashing w/ OSX 10.9.3

Hello - I have been using Outlook for MAC 2011 on my MacBook Air (OSX 10.9.3).
Suddenly today it started crashing the minute I log-in to the application.  Here is the detail of the info I received from the error report:
Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0
    Error Signature:
    Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS
    Date/Time: 2014-06-03 00:23:42 +0000
    Application Name: Microsoft Outlook
    Application Bundle ID: com.microsoft.Outlook
    Application Signature: OPIM
    Application Version: 14.4.1.140326
    Crashed Module Name: CarbonCore
    Crashed Module Version: 1077.17

    Blame Module Offset: 0x00008be7
    Application LCID: 1033
    Extra app info: Reg=en Loc=0x0409
    Crashed thread: 12
Earlier versions of the above crash report said "Crashed Thread: 9" (instead of 12)....not sure if/how that makes a difference.
Can you tell from the above what this might be related to, and tell me please how I can get past this?  At this point, everything in my Outlook is completely hidden from my sight (including all of
my tasks) until I can get back in again.  It's pretty debilitating. :(
    Thank you so much!

  • Setting up icloud in outlook for mac 2011

I have tried to set up my iCloud email account in Outlook for Mac 2011. Incoming works fine. Outgoing doesn't. I have trawled over the support pages for the correct outgoing server info but on using the settings I am no further on. I did see a post by someone who had found the same problem and copied the settings that Mail uses which seems to be different for incoming than Apples recommendations. (but thats not a problem for me!) and unfortunately the outgoing in the Mail settings for my iCloud account simply shows "iCloud" so I am none the wiser!
Can anyone help? Incidentally my icloud account for email works fine on my iPhone and iPad.
    thanks

  • Sharing photos via Outlook for Mac 2011

I am using iPhoto 11 v 9.1.1 (527) and Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 v 14.0.2 (101115). I have Microsoft Entourage selected for "Email photos using" in the General Preferences dialog box (Outlook is not available as a choice).
When I attempt to share photos via Outlook email via:
    Share> Email >Compose Message
I get the following error message:
Microsoft Outlook got an error: Can't make {subject:"8 great iPhotos"} into type property of draft window.
Is there some way to make this work so that I can share photos via e-mail using Outlook?
I know I can use the media browser, but that doesn't allow you to add captions, or to control the size of the image.
    Thanks, Dave

    Yes - as noted
If you search the forums some people report to have found a solution Request Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback and Microsoft address this issue permanently
At this time Outlook is not supported but some people have reported to find a hack to solve this - have you searched for the post?

  • Imac is 4 months old.  Using installed Outlook for Mac 2011 but now want to use ical so that I can start to use iCloud to sync with my Ipad2 and iPhone.  How do I move my calendar from outlook to ical on the iMac?

This is my first attempt at using this forum so please be patient with me.  I am new to the apple world.  Bought an Imac desktop computer back in October and installed Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 because I was used to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and outlook.  Now I am being told that I should be using ical for my calendar so that I will be better able to move to icloud for use between my Imac, Ipad2, and Iphone.
The question is:  how do I move my calendar which is in "Outlook for Mac 2011" into ical on my Mac?  Do I have to remove the Outlook entries from the computer and reinstall them back to the same machine or can I somehow move calendar entries within the machine?  I appreciate any help I can get.  Thanks.

I also already deleted my phone number from iMessage on my MBP.

  • Want to use Outlook for Mac 2011

    Hello!
I want to use Outlook for Mac 2011 for my calendar, email, and contacts on my Macbook Air, iPhone 6, and iPad Air.  Is this possible to sync with all these devices with this program?  I am more organized with Outlook than using the different Apple programs.  It has more options.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

If you have outlook on all 3 devices, should be okay. However, I am suggesting you to probably try the Apple's and get used to it as you are using all notebook, phoneme and tab with Apple. Might save you some money with that.
