Outlook locking AD account - bug?

Ever since upgrading to Lion, running Outlook (mac:Office 2011) frequently locks my AD account (that I am checking email for). Is this a known issue?

Reason why I am asking here is that it was working fine until I upgraded to Lion, which makes me think it is related to the OS patch, not the product.

Hi SAP Gurus,
We are configuring the CIN Settings for our client and at the time of testing, while saving the Out going excise invoice the system is giving the error as “Balance in Transaction Error” and when pressed enter the system displays the error as “ system failure during locking GL account 5555 by 13113910.”
We have configured Out going excise duty condition types in the SD pricing procedure
and
also maintained the same condition types as mentioned below in the path IMG / LOGISTICS GENERAL / TAX ON GOODS MOVEMENT / INDIA / BASIC SETTINGS/ DETERMINATION OF EXCISE DUTY / MAINTAIN EXCISE DEFAULTS
under the headings
AR BED Cond – JEXP
AR Cess Cond – JECS
ECS AR – JHEC
And also maintained the settings in the Path IMG / LOGISTICS GENERAL / TAX ON GOODS MOVEMENT / INDIA / SPECIFY EXCISE ACCOUNTS PER EXCISE TRANSACTION and also in SPECIFY G/L ACCOUNTS PER EXCISE TRANSACTION .
But still the above mentioned error is comming.
Note : error in not coming when I am removing the JHEC condition type from the path IMG / LOGISTICS GENERAL / TAX ON GOODS MOVEMENT / INDIA / BASIC SETTINGS/ DETERMINATION OF EXCISE DUTY / under the heading ECR AR, But we need the JHEC(ie. Higher education cess) also in out going excise invoice.
Please let me know what is the issue and how to resolve it.

Dear We faced the same issue and almost for 20 days to get it resolved.
For this kind of error firstly Check have you activated the Liable for AT1 indicator in(IMG>>Log.General>>Tax on goods Movement>>India>>Basic Settings>>Maintain Excise registrations)
Also Have you assigned Proper GL account in (IMG>>Log.General>>Tax on Good Movement>>>India>>>Account Determination>>Account determination per Excise transaction type.
Here pl check the relevant GL has been assigned for
1.RG23A BED(for Both incoming and outgoing excise invoice updations against your ETT)
2 RG23C BED, (for Both incoming and outgoing excise invoice updations against your ETT)
3 .OFF SET,(for Both incoming and outgoing excise invoice updations against your ETT)
4 MODVAT.CLEARING, (for Both incoming and outgoing excise invoice updations against your ETT)

BlackBerry Internet Service with Microsoft Outlook Web Access account

I need to switch my 8820 to a new work account. They use Outlook Exchange 2003, but do not support BES. I have access via both regular desktop Outlook and also Outlook Web Access (from a different server). I read the procedure to use BIS in KnowledgeBase KB03133. After entering my email address and password, I get a message that it was successfully set up. But, I get no e-mail messages delivered. When I check the settings, it looks like it is not using the correct server for Web Access. However, I can find no way to manually enter it - I don't get the error message described in Step 5 where I can pick "I will provide the settings." I try to set up via computer but I get a message that my BIS cannot be accessed via HTML and need to set up on my BB.
Any suggestions? Would it work with a newer phone running a newer OS? Do I need to check with AT&T if it supports Outlook Web Access? Thanks in advance.

The trick to getting to the manual settings screen is to provide your valid email address, but an incorrect password...then, it will allow you to manually enter the settings.

How do I create a new folder to use for my Outlook 365 mail account? I know with pc all I had to do was to right mouse click.

New folder where? If you added the account in Mail app it should of created the folders to store that email automatically.

Just trying to back up my data. I have now closed my email account of my original email so cant receive email or remember security questions. Tried setting up another account but it doesnt allow access to iCloud. Now managed to lock my account for 8 hours. Unable to Chat with Apple as I dont have a contract. Tried submitting a telephone request - it just tells me to add a valid number (which I did offer up home and mobile) neither of which were accepted. You'd selected the correct country for you and your iTunes account ? The form has validation to check that the phone number is valid for the country that you select.

Shared Computer Outlook E-mail Accounts

I created a form with a custom e-mail submit button that sends the PDF form to the next approver that is selected by the user from a drop-down list. The form works correctly on computers that have only one Outlook e-mail account but the submit buttons do not work correctly when employess are sharing a computer (muliple Outlook e-mail accounts). Is there a way that when the Send By E-mail button is clicked, Outlook would, "ask" which account it should open?

IT was able to help me with proper terminology that may elaborate this issue a bit. Many users may share the same computer, under the same windows login username. To facilitate them being able connect to their individual email accounts, we setup Email Profiles by going into Control Panel > Mail (in Windows). We cannot select a default profile so we check the box for "prompt for profile to be used", which should come into play whenever the users opens Outlook or hits a "mailto" or "send to email" button from another application. The user will see a "choose profile" window appear and they can proceed to enter their username/password upon selection of their Email profile. Adobe seems to skip the "choose profile" window and will instead choose the first email profile we created on the machine, and ask for its username & password. Although one might think we could just put in the correct username and password, that does not work since Adobe (or perhaps windows) is trying to authenticate the wrong email account.

Outlook "lock" on .msg files

I am trying to confirm what I believe to already be true, if someone can confirm with documentation on this issue:
Users are saving Emails as ".msg", if the email/file is opened Outlook "locks" the file. If the email is closed and re-opened moments later (either by the same user or another on a shared drive) without closing Outlook and the OUTLOOK.exe process ending the user receives error:
"Microsoft Office Outlook"
Can't open file: "file location"... The file may not exist, you may not have permission to open it, or it may be open in another program. Right-click the folder that contains the file, and then click Properties to check your permissions for the folder.
This is obviously not a permissions issue and I have confirmed that is Outlook is "locking" the file by using procmon but I can't convince management that there is "no fix" for this. So here I am asking for anyone to either tell me there is a fix or tell me to find a new profession.

How to increase No. of attempt to Lock user account in DB

Hi,
How to increase the number of attempt [by giving wrong password] to lock the user account in DB Connection?
We have default feature as No. of attempt is 3 by giving wrong password to lock the user account.
Is it possible to increase the no. of times from 3?
Is it possible to find out who is the resource locked the account by giving wrong password?
Kindly give me input on this more.

You can increase the number of failed login attempts: the number of failed login attempts is configured in profile linked to user account http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/network.102/b14266/policies.htm#i1007339. Either you change the current profile or you can create a new one and link it to the user account.
You can retrieve profile linked to user account with:

How Many Times in a Week Will Apple Keep Locking My Account?

Twice a week Apple keeps locking my account and I have to go reset it with my old password or issue a new password. I have done both yet I can't go a week without being told I have to do it again...and again.

Ok, Finally I switched my coding to use DAO and DTO, and I learned it through internet.
I removed all of data access codes from my jsp file(lets say 'functions.jsp'). I then created one interface and two clasess.

PowerShell Script Get the User's Active Directory Fully Qualified Login Name for Specific Locked Out Accounts

I have a script which displays locked out accounts. It works great.
I'd like to display the fully qualified Active Directory Login Name instead of the LastName, First Name:
Example: Davis, Susan
Want instead: Domain\Susan.Davis
I'd also like to include an additional filter to look for only Domain\Susan.Davis OR Domain\Robin.Givens

Sorry, I should have mentioned that the cmdlets I'm using are part of the Active Directory module. You'll need to install the RSAT (Win7+) to use them.
If you'd rather stick with your DirectorySearcher methods instead of moving to the AD module, you can adjust your output by using something like this instead:

$domainname might not be what you're expecting, just FYI.
As for filtering, you can add to the if statement and check for your known usernames only.

Locking an account with password compare

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to lock an account using compare on userPassword or some mechanism other than the user binding directly to the LDAP service?
We have a service that binds as a service and searches for a DN based on the UID entered by the user. Currently the service then has to bind using the returned DN to use the password policy lockout features. I would rather that once bound as the service that it could compare the userPassword immediately.
Any ideas?

Hi,
You have to setup a user account in LDAP who has access to read (only) the userPassword attribute (ACI).
The initial bind should be performed under this user's credentials.
You also have to hash the user password with the chosen hashing algorithm.
You either do ldapsearch for userPassword and compare on the application level
or do ldapcompare to compare the values immediately.
However having a user (other that directory manager) that can read the userPassword
is not recommended for security reasons. I would stick in DSEE's internal mechanisms
for password lockout policies unless you're willing to write (secure) code
to invent it all over again.

Programmatically locking user account in OID Jdev 11gR1

Does anyone know an API using which we can lock a user's account in OID ?
Though there is a way in which we can unlock the account programmatically -

The only allowed value is 1];

I want to lock my account as we are doing a custom implementation wherein the account should get locked once a user enters incorrect asnwers to Challenge Questions more than a given number of times.
Will the disabling of the account help this case ?
