Outlook looses connectivity after DAG Failover

Hi team,
Im running a lab environment with 2xCAS (WNLB) and 2xMBX (DAG) servers. Since it's a lab environment I've set the DC as my FSW. All Virtual Directories are pointing to 'mail.contoso.com' pointing to the two CASs which is WNLB'ed.
To test the DAG Failover I set up a Database(MDB01) on MBX Server 1 which is active, made a passive replica on MBX Server 2. I shut down Server 01, which holds the active databases mounted. meanwhile two clients were running and both were connected. Once
the server got shutdown, both clients(Outlook 2013) went to 'Trying to connect to server' status.
Meanwhile checking the powershell on the Mbx Server 02, i noticed that the database was mounted. Went back to clients and open'ed up OWA, working as normal. However, the outlook client is still stuck in the 'Trying to connect to server' status. And
i opened up the 'Connection Status' and tried to 'Reconnect' but still no luck. I had to close and open up outlook to get back into the 'Connected' mode.
Any idea why this might be happening?
*Since unlike Exchange 2010's CAS Array architecture is no more there I didn't made any changes to any RPCClientAccess.... attribute. Both mail.contoso.com and autodiscover.contoso.com are pointed to the VIP of the CAS WNLB.
Cheers!

Hello,
After you configure a single namespace, you need to restart outlook to connect the newly configured namespace.
Before DAG Failover, I recommend you use netstat -ano | findstr ":80" command to check your outlook connect to CAS server.
In order to check the issue, please do DAG failover again, and then use netstat -ano | findstr ":80" command to check your outlook connect to CAS server.

Hi Cara,
Yes, here's the result from the query.

But whenever i restart the client it gets connected in no time. I'm confused in why after a manual DAG failover this happens.
Manual failover - I shut the active copy, the passive copy was also down for around 15 mins, booted up the passive server, it said Databases as Disconnected and Active Manager error in getting them mounted up and had a 99234343231 of CQL. So
to mark the server active did a 'net start clussvc /forcequorum'. This got the databases mounted up. But clients, they doesn't get connected automatically :(
UPDATE - The client got connected after like
15 mins. :s

After upgrade to 3.0, When I quit a wifi zone, I loose connection to cellular network. I have to restart the IPhone to find the cellular network. I am on FIDO with a candian number.

Data Settings for Pay & Go and Pay Monthly
(non iPhone tariff) customers
If you're a Pay & Go customer and have the iPhone OS 3.0 Software, you'll need to change your iPhone APN (data) settings. This will get features like mobile internet and picture messaging (MMS) working. Details below.
If you're a Pay Monthly customer but don't have the iPhone Bolt On, or a specific iPhone tariff, then you won't be able to get the full iPhone experience.
Here's what you'll need to do:
From the main screen of your iPhone tap Settings > General > Network
It has done thre same for UK pay and go:
http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/settings.html
Under Cellular Data Network
For Pay & Go customers. Tap APN and change idata.o2.co.uk and enter payandgo.o2.co.uk (Please note that "o2" needs to be written with a letter "o" and not a zero)
For Pay Monthly customers. Tap APN and change idata.o2.co.uk and enter mobile.o2.co.uk (Please note that "o2" needs to be written with a letter "o" and not a zero)
You don't need to change your username and password
Ignore the Visual Voicemail APN box - it's not available to Pay & Go customers or Pay Monthly customers (with a non iPhone tariff)
Under MMS
For Pay & Go customers. Tap APN and change idata.o2.co.uk and enter payandgo.o2.co.uk (Please note that o2 needs to be written with a letter o and not a zero)
For Pay Monthly customers. Tap APN and change idata.o2.co.uk and enter wap.o2.co.uk (Please note that o2 needs to be written with a letter o and not a zero)
You don't need to change your username and password
Turn your iPhone off and on again
If you're a Pay & Go iPhone customer, using your iPhone sim for the first time, you'll need to top up by at least £10.

• Datasocket Server looses connections after a few hours "Parsing URL"

Hi there,
I need some help cause the DataSocket server is doing some bad stuff...!
The server runs on a WinNT 4.0 platform as a datalogger. It works fine, but after a few hours it seems the server looses connection somehow, the datasocket status of the frontpanel elements tells: "Connecting: Parsing URL" .
The server has about 5 DINT variables and about 3 clusters containing INT variables (size about 30).
I really ran out of ideas aof what happens on this "old" machine, maybe someone had some preblems like me and solved them....
Thank for hints and tipps!

Hello,
what service packs for Windows NT have you installed?
Datasocket server crashes after a short period of time when diagnostic
window is open (Tools->Diagnostics). Disable the "Auto-Refresh"
option in the Diagnostic Dialog from the Options menu.

• Outlook cannot connect after mailbox move from Exchange 2007 to 2013

I am in the middle of migrating an Exchange Server 2007 to 2013. Everything went fine up until I moved the first mailbox. I can access the mailbox via OWA, but not Outlook 2010. When I checked the account settings, the server is incorrect. It shows [email protected]
If I manually enter the name of the Exchange 2007 server, it changes to the Exchange 2013 server, as it should. I save the settings, open Outlook, the connection fails, and the server setting is changed to [email protected]
I then ran the Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer. There are 2 lines which caught my attention:
AutoDiscoverInternalRpcClientServer
[email protected]
AutoDiscoverHomeMdbDn
/o=mydomainMail/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=[email protected]/cn=Microsoft Private MDB
I've checked and rechecked everything and can't seem to locate my error.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

Totally correct!

• My wifi connection looses connection after 3 or more computers on

I have 1 Ipad 1 imac 1 iphone 1 windows netbook my 2 more laptops 1 xbox360 when all these are on one or 2 looses connections then I have to reset the router then it works any one with a tip thanks.

All of your devices must share the same bandwidth provided by your Internet connection from your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Your Internet plan may not provide you with enough bandwidth to support more than just a few connections at one time.
What is the speed of your Internet connection plan from your ISP?

• Outlook not connect to mailbox after DAG failover

Hi,
I have very annoying problem with Exchange Server 2013
on my production servers.
Below is my setup
DC – Windows Server 2012
CASHUB1 – Windows Sever 2012 (Exchange 2013 Standard)
CASHUB2 – Windows Sever 2012 (Exchange 2013 Standard + Witness Server)
MBX1 – Windows Sever 2012 (Exchange 2013 Standard)
MBX2 – Windows Sever 2012 (Exchange 2013 Standard)
So what's happening? After I move user's mailbox database from MBX1 to MBX2, Outlook (2007 with latest update and 2010 with latest update)
is being redirected to the server that holds the mailbox, and it’s ok. But, the problem arises when I turn off MBX1 and leave only MBX2 running - users are not able to connect to the MBX2. The moment the operating system on MBX1 is started, users connect to
MBX2 smoothly and everything works fine.
My DAG is working fine because when I turn off MBX1, MBX2 detects that change, and in a few seconds the database becomes active on MBX2.
So, DAG works perfectly, but since the MBX1 is turned off no Outlook client can connect to MBX2.
Also, if my Mailbox database is mounted on MBX2 and if
turn of MBX2 in a few seconds the database becomes active on MBX1 and Outlook client get connected on MBX1.
Thanks

Hi,
As far as I know, in Exchange 2013,  Outlook clients don’t rely on the value stamped in the “RPCClientAccessServer”.
According to the error, we can try to Disable IPv6 & Change Hosts file:

• GPS looses connection after hours driving on 2710

Hi,
Every now and then I'm using the navigation on my 2710. Usually it does the trick. However after using it for a longer drive (4-5 hours) I find that gradually it will loose its GPS connection (crossed out satelite dish) more and more, and in the end will not regain connection anymore. Only solution is: remove battery, wait 20 seconds, remount battery and restart. Connection will be good for hours to come.
During the trip I usually charge the battery after a while, so it is not because the battery fails.
Who knows why this happens, and how to prevent it?
BvMNokia
Using 2710 since september 2010

@aspergerguy
Well the device gets warm, yes. Eather through sunshine or hard work. Not hot though. I charge the battery not continuously but only when needed. The thing is, that the device functions fine after a 20 sec battery removal (hard reset). In 20 secs the device will not cool down!! Also when I drive regularly shorter distances of about 1,5-2hours, the unit will eventually also acquire the same problems, even when the time used per trip is shorter. So it seems that there is some error in the software.
When I drive for about 8 hours, after about 5 hours problems start occurring (small intervalls of no sat connection). Since I drive mostly with young children on board for the longer distances, we will stop a couple of times during the trip (usually I take my phone with me and switch the navigation off in the mean time). This will somehow prevent the phone of making overtime.
Especially since the problems also occur when driving shorter distances regularly, I tend to think of a software bug (say some memory is not released by certain processes).

• RDP Services do not accept connection after cluster failover

Hi guys,
i am having weird behaviour on my Windows Server 2012 R2.
server 1
- 10.100.1.201
server 2   - 10.100.1.203
VIP - 10.100.1.202
when i perform remote desktop session to server 1 and server 2 after both servers are being rebooted, they are working perfectly fine. during the remote desktop session, i perform a cluster node failover switching node to server 2. immediately i perform
the task, my server 1 connection will hang and not able to login anymore.
strangely, when i am connection from the same server zone and perform remote desktop, they work perfectly fine and will not disconnect me from neither of the server 1 and 2.
i am suspecting the network routing mess up during the cluster failover, but from the route print, there are identical and has no problem with it.
any one here has the same problem i experience?
zhiyuan

Hi,
sorry if i lose you ... here is the story
node 1 - 10.100.1.201
node 2 - 10.100.1.203
vip - 10.100.1.202
when both server restarted, i can remote to both servers, no problem.
1. RDP to both node 1 and 2 together on their physical IP. Connected successfully.
2. checked the Active node on node 1. Perform fail over from node 1 to 2, node 1 RDP session loss connection immediately. checked on node 2, cluster node active on node 2. no errors.
3. perform node 2 to node 1 fail over. Node 2 RDP session loss connection immediately, node 1 session came back. checked cluster node active on node 1. no errors.
4. in order to have both can continue to rdp, perform restart on node 2 (the node cannot reconnect), after reboot, rdp back to normal.
5. firewall team confirm connection has reach server, server not responding to rdp apparently.

• Apple TV 2 loose connection after 20-30 minutes

When I’m waking up my ATV2, it always shut off after 20-30 minutes. The pattern is always the same.
I wake up my ATV2, I stream content to it using AirPlay (from my iPad) or I stream music from my shared library on an iMac using Wi-Fi and after 20-30 minutes, the ATV2 stop working. The TV screen has no connection (or data), the ATV2 light is on.
They only option that I have is to unplug and replug the ATV2. Then, it would work for hours (2-3-4 hours) without problem. I can listen to music or view content or use Airplay streaming with my iPad.
I have reserved DHCP addresses (using Aiport MAC address) for each devices (ATV2, iMac with iTunes), I tried to change the frequency channel (everything is Wi-Fi using a Time Capsule). All softwares are up-to-date (iTunes, ATV2 iOS).
The only thing I did not test is a cable between the Time Capsure and ATV2.
Any hint about what is going on and how to fix that?

Could be network activity. Try setting the sleep to never and see if that helps things.

Hi, everyone. every time that my macbook comes back from sleep it does not recognize my network, and start looking for all the networks in my area, so in order to reconnect i have to turn off airport and turn on and then it automatically connect and recognize my network, why is this happening.
please help, i am using airport extreme base station as my router.
Thanks

Try going to system preferences/network/airport and deleting all the unwanted old connections you have made in the past. Make sure the default is set to the top position of the few you decide to keep. By cleaning this up i found it always found the connection upon wakeup

• Wi Fi looses connection after long sleep and the performs poorly after reconnecting

I am having trouble with the Wi FI dropping after a long sleep. Then after getting back on line trouble with pages loading slowly. This just started when I switched to Road Runner Lightning using a Ubee DVW 3201B modem/router. My service provider is Brighthouse. They suggested that the MAC firewall is the problem. Do I need the firewall with  asecure router/ any help appreciated.

I have the same issue and have to cycle the wireless modem on the laptop. Doesn't matter if I'm on a preferred netowrk or no, or if I stay on the same network or move. I come out of sleep, I have to cycle the modem.
It's not life threatening, or anything, but it's a hassle. I didn't have the issue with Snow Leopard.

• PXI 8252 looses connection

In a realtime application we have the problem to loose connection to firewire compact flash. The CF is just a backup - but the whole process of data storage ist stopped occationally. The system ist running perfectly for hours - but then we have cases where we loose connection after 5 to 30 minutes, without beeing able to identify a problem. Cable connections seem to be perfect, restart may solve the problem - but not always.
Does anybody have experiance with firewire card 8252 - or in combination with PXI 8102 (which could also be the source of the problem) - that could help to undserstand the problem?
PXI 8252 has three firewire ports (A,B,C) - could ONE of these be a problem while the others work reliably?

Hi, thanks for answering.
we use bus powered connection.
After some more local discussion I should say that we use three systems in parallel - but only one fails sometimes. The difference for the very system is that three threats are running (-> higher load) and that we use a bus extention, so there are some hardware solutions which may have some influence on the stability.
Thanks, regards

• Outlook 2011 Connection Issue with Proxy Server after 10.8 Upgrade

Hello,
After upgrading my MBA to 10.8, my MS Outlook (Outlook Mac 2011) mail connection does not work for an exchange based mail account where a VPN/proxy server combination is involved. This was not an issue at all under 10.7. What's interesting is that it's not an issue with MS Outlook 2010 on my Parallels VM either under 10.8. There are no internet connectivity issues, I am able to connect to the internet using Safari and other browsers. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Manish

I was having a similar problem using Outlook 2011 running under Mountain Lion (10.8.2) on an MacBook Pro. When at work, behind our proxy server, I could not get Outlook to connect to a client's public Exchange server, but this worked fine without changing any settings when I was connected to our DMZ network or at home (no proxy server in these cases). My MacBook was configured to use "Auto Proxy Configuration", and Safari worked fine in all three locations (as did Apple mail)
Today, the Microsoft Office auto-updater downloaded an update, and since it was installed, the problem has been fixed and I've been able to connect to our client's external Exchange server event when behind our local proxy server (Outlook now reports that the latest installed update is 14.2.5)
