    Thanks Jim...........

Thank you SO much. Everything I had tried just expanded the size of each columns. Finding that slender area to the right of the message columns was tricky, but it worked. Wish that was more intuitive.
    Thanks again.

  • Mail on MacBook Pro (Intel), loses track of which IMAP messages are read

I have this problem using two different IMAP servers (dovecot-imapd and SunONE.) Basically Mail keeps "losing track" of which messages have been read already. Messages I read and/or reply keep getting marked as unread. If I wait around long enough (or quit and restart Mail) ALL of my messages received since migrating to the MacBook Pro will appear unread. This did not happen with my PowerBook G4 – I'm thinking something is wrong with the Intel build of Mail.

Do you have "automatically synchronize changed
mailboxes" selected under the Advanced tab for the
    IMAP account preferences?
Oddly enough, one of them had it checked, and the other did not. Both evidenced the same behavior though.
In addition, have you used the rebuild mailboxes
function on the account's Inbox mailbox?
I'll do that now, and see what happens.

  • Can I transfer my email in outlook on my macbook pro (windows for mac) onto my ipad mini?Help!?

can I transfer my email in outlook on my macbook pro (windows for mac) onto my ipad mini?Help!?

Outlook is an email client and that does not indicate if your email is POP or IMAP. If you have an IMAP email account, all of your emails actions will automatically sync across your devices. If you have POP, it does not work that way.
If you are asking if you can transfer the current emails on the Mac onto the iPad, no you cannot, unless the email is an IMAP account and they can download onto the iPad again from the server.

  • HT203216 I can not reopen my microsoft outlook in my MacBook Pro?

I need help, I can not reopen my microsoft outlook in my MacBook Pro?

This is the iPad in the Enterprise forum and not the best place for you to get help with this issue since this doesn't seem to be an issue with an iPad. Being a question about using a Microsoft product, you might have more luck getting suggestions if you ask in Microsoft's own forums.
    Regards.

  • Outlook on my MacBook Pro.

I want to be able to use Outlook on my MacBook Pro
I already have Office so can I upgrade the package or do I need to buy Outlook as a full sepperate package?
    Thanks

Outlook is only available with the full version of MS Office 2011 for Mac - if you have the student and home edition, you won't get Outlook.
You can download the 30-day trial version from http://www.microsoft.com/mac/trial.

  • Outlook 2011 on macbook pro won't get mail unless it has focus

I have Microsoft Office 2013 on my Macbook Pro 15" retina. Outlook works fine for email when outlook has focus. If outlook is in the background, for example when I have Safari open as I do typing this question, Outlook cannot make a connection to my ISP and get mail. It displays a popup window for each mail account asking me if I want to try giving it the password again. If I say No to each popup and leave Outlook on top with focus, it immediately reconnects to the ISP and resynchronises all mailboxes, it just won't keep synchronised when it is in the background.
Anyone know a solution to this? It was the same under Maverick and is the same now under Yosemite.

I should add that I don't know if the Java download is responsible - could just be a coincidence that it was the last thing I did/downloaded before restarting.

  • Need guidance moving archived Outlook emails onto Macbook Pro

I am switching from a PC at work to a macbook pro laptop. I have successfully added my outlook exchange server email address to apple mail. However, I need to add my archived emails that are on my old desktop. Can anyone help or advise me? Do I have to purchase Outlook for Mac and use that program?
    Thanks~

Sounds like you have updated to 10.1.1?
Something is not right in the updating.
I think the last two Projects have something in them that did not transfer in the copy of the Library.
Try creating a separate Library for the last Projects on the Mac Pro then copy that Library.

  • How can I sync the contacts from outlook on my macbook pro with my iPhone

My iPhone 5 is backing up on iCloud and my music, etc is syncing through iTunes (11.4) on my MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3 but my calendar and contacts from Outlook 2011 are not syncing.  Does anyone know which settings I may need to change?  I have updated my operating system to OS X 10.9.4 and iTunes.

You'll need to find a way to export your Outlook contacts and calendar to Apple's Contacts and Calendar applications. There are some paid software apps that can do this but I don't know of any free way other than exporting each event/contact individually. Outlook 2011, when it first came out, synced well with iCal and Address Book (or whatever it was called) but that's no longer the case... maybe when Office for Mac 2014 comes out?
Sorry that I don't have an answer to what seems to be a common problem.

  • Cannot Read Body of my Mail on MacBook Pro

I am using Mail with the latest Mavericks on my MacBook Pro....and it is all updated to the latest software  updates. For the past 5 or 6 days, I cannot read the body of my mail. The headers etc. are visible but in the preview pane below, nothing shows. I think this started because I had left the computer for a few hours and it went to sleep. When I tried to get back on, nothing happened. I pressed the enter and other keys but it still kept 'sleeping'. I finally resorted to turning the power switch off and was presented with this problem. I have searched these forums and though there are a few instances of this, they either seemed to be with older OS systems or on the initial installation of Mavericks....I have had Mavericks since it first came out with no issues.  Also, the majority of these type issues seemed to be with the iPhone or iPad...and I still have not been able to get to the bottom of this.
I have tried to Rebuild the mailbox several times but to no avail. Sometimes the Mail also quits unexpectedly and I am given an error statement. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I have a 2008 MacBook Pro with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core and 8 Gb RAM....and about 40 Gb of free space.

    Humm,
In the Mail > Preferences I have it set to display in Classic view.
Side bar or Accounts in-boxes and other folders
Then a top window of Messages left or new in the In-boxes and the messages being "read" below that.
There are occasions when deleting a messages in the top window does not automatically select another.
This can mean nothing displays in the bottom box  (I just can't re-create it right now ).
If I change to the regular/default view I see the Side Bar still, then the Summary column followed by the Messages column.
The Summary I have chosen has three Messages related to it.
In the Messages column I have scrolled the first to reveal the contents but also show the Header of the next.  (I chose to show Full Headers so there is a lot of info here or not only the Sender but the Server(s) it came through to get to me).
I take you do mean the actual Header to the actual message  (the lower right item in the pic) rather than calling one of the columns "Headers" ?

  • How to set column headers in Mail on MacBook Pro?

In Mail on my MacBook Pro I have a number of columns set as a default view in Mail - To, Subject, Date etc
I want to add Mailbox (as I have more than one mail account) as a default header.
When I right click on the header bar and add it, it works but next time I log on it's gone again.
How do I add Mailbox as a column permanently?

Can anybody help me with this?
I anticipated it would be quite a straight forward issue.
I presume I've posted it on the right forum but please advise if not.
