Outlook Move Emails to specific folder rule issues.

Hello,
We have found fallowing issue in our Outlook/Exchange environment:
If we setup rules in outlook 2010/2013 to move emails from specific sender to specific folder emails are moved to that folders but also they appear in a "Recover deleted Items" folder. if we move emails manually no issues. If we recover them they
will appear double in the specific folder.
We are using two Exchange  2013 Servers in DAG with latest cumulative updates. CAS/MB roles combined.
Any Ideas?  Thanks in advance!

Hi,
When creating this inbox rule to move emails from specific sender to specific folder emails, please make sure the following field is unchecked.
If we choose this field, then situation like yours will happen.
Please also check if there are any other inbox rules or transport rules relative this issue.

  • [Exchange-Online][EWS][C#][Windows 7] Move email based on their categories

    Hello,
I'd like to move emails in the Inbox to a separate folder based on their category.
I'm using Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices (15.0.0.0) to connect to an ExchangeVersion.Exchange2013_SP1 instance. I'm using C# in VS2013 and the .NET 4 framework but can take examples from other versions if they exist.
I've tried using SearchFilter without much success through ExchangeService.FindItems, but the 'Categories' property seems to be tricky to configure.
Does anyone have an example of how I can select/move emails from a folder based on their category membership?
    Thanks,
    Mike

It should work okay what matters is what's stored in the Keywords property eg
The only other thing that would be important would be that Indexing is working okay in Exchange as this query relies on the Indexes (eg check your event logs on the server to make sure you not getting any indexing errors).
One thing you can do to test this is use the EWSEditor
http://ewseditor.codeplex.com/once you have connected right click the folder when the Items are located and select Search from the menu. Then using the AQS option try running some queries against the folder try the Conical version(which is what I gave
you) and the non conical Category:Clare . If it works okay in the EWSEditor but not in your code then you have an issue somewhere else in your code. I would also do the simple thingss like try then with a new message you send yourself as it maybe something
to do with Items not being indexed in the past etc.
    Cheers

  • Can't move emails from one account to another in native Mail app IOS 7.0.3

I can select an email and click on move, and MAIL looks like working (the animation seems to move the email to a different account folder) but indeed is not moving the email! This was working with the previous release of IOS
Mail works if I try to move email to a folder belonging to the same account.
I need to move email from my university account to my gmail to store it! And I can't create an alias in gmail because of my university (stupid) security policies.
Thank a lot for your help.

    Hi Kobe Zhang
    Option 1:
Your MSN account might be deleted but the eprintcenter wont be deleted along with it.
You should be still able to login to eprintcenter account using the old msn id and the same old password for eprintcenter account which you used regularly.
If you have forgot the password, i dont know how can you recover it.
If you get a chance to login then you can remove the printer from the old account and then claim it in your new account created usign hotmail ID.
If you are not worried about changing your printers email ID, here is option 2.
One more option is to de register the printer and register it again to cloud to get a new email address which can be used to claim the printer in your new account and then customize your email ID there. But be aware that you might not be able to set the same customised email ID which you have used in your old account.
    Kind Regards,
    Olilloyd

  • How do you forward, or move emails in Nokia Messag...

Help!! I cannot seem to find any command for forwaring emails in Nokia Messaging. I find it hard to believe Nokia did not put this utility in their email client.
It is not rocket science. Also, there is no way to move emails from one folder to another. I am looking to move certain emails from the Trash folder back to the Inbox. Even the simple Gmail client has both commands!
We are not asking Nokia to re-invent the wheel, just to copy it!!
    Can anyone help??

Hi, it's all done by keyboard shortcuts.  Go into your mailbox, select options and the help section - you'll find a list of all the shortcuts.  'f' is forward, 'm' is move . . .

  • Outlook 2013 expands wrong subfolder when rules move email

Running Outlook 2013, Windows 7 Pro, exchange email with Office 365 directly from Microsoft.
    No other accounts attached.
I have set rules for email from some senders to go to certain subfolders in my inbox.
Email is sorted by date received.
When a new email arrives and is sent to the correct subfolder and indicated by the number of unread emails in the left hand column.
when I open the folder for that sender, Outlook expands the subfolder for 2 days previously, not todays subfolder where the new email resides.
I set each folder completely collapsed when I leave that folder.
    This is persistent and repeatable.
For example, I have a folder called "Purchasing" with a subfolder in it called "Apple stuff".  When a rule sends a new email to the "Apple stuff" subfolder a small blue number "1" appears beside the "Apple
stuff" subfolder.  Assuming today is Tuesday - When I open the "Apple stuff" subfolder the "Date:Today" folder is collapsed, the Date:Yesterday" folder is collapsed, but the "Date:Sunday" folder is expanded. I have
to collapse the "Date:Sunday" folder and open the "Date:Today" folder to see the new email.
Why does Outlook open the day-before-yesterdays sub folder - persistently?
How do I get Outlook to open the correct subfolder, or can I?

    Hi,
I'm not able to reproduce this issue on my Outlook 2013, Today and other Dates are all expanded by default.
I'm wondering whether this issue was caused by some 3rd-party add-ins or a corrupted view. We can perform the steps below to troubleshoot this issue:
    1. Start Outlook in Safe Mode. Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
If then the problem is gone, disable the suspicious add-ins in Outlook to verify which one caused the issue.
    2. We can start Outlook with the switch "/cleanviews". This will restore default views, all custom views you created will be lost. Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /cleanviews" in the blank box, press Enter.
Check the result and hopefully we can fix it.

  • How do I move multiple emails from Inbox to a specific folder?

I have left a lot of emails in my Inbox that should have been moved to specific folders. How do I move them in bulk to their specific folders other than moving each one individually. I have highlighted the messages concerned by searching and then selecting all. I then click on move to....
Nothing seems to be happening....I'm sure there's probably a step I'm missing here. What would it be??
A similar problem occurs when I want to do a mass delete of emails from a specific sender....

I did all that and nothing happened. As it happens, I did manage to deal with the problem, but in a rather convoluted and tedious manner. I went into Edit, Find, and Search messages, typed in the criteria and the messages I wanted moved came up. However, there was no option to "Select All" so I had to highlight each one and then move the lot to the specific folder....that also worked for the delete problem. That is a workable solution to my problem, but the lack of a "select all" option made it very time consuming. However, I guess it's a notice to me to remember to sort my emails more often.
    Thanks for replying....

  • Issues with subject line when moving emails to another folder

    Hi.
For the past few months I've been having a problem moving groups of emails from my inbox to another created folder. When I move a group of emails to another folder the subject of all the emails swap with each other. The issue seems to be with the iPhone native mail app only as when I connect via iPad or web the emails are correct.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Not that I'm aware of.
Mail.app isn't a particularly scalable database in general, so you might want to look at your workflow.
For better or worse, email is often ill-suited as a general information-storage and transfer mechanism.
You might be able to set up a Rule to perform the move when the message arrives; if the mail messages involved are uniquely identifiable.
It's also possible to implement server-side rules, depending on what you're up to, and what your own mail server or particular your mail provider supports here.
I'm using a combination of these two approaches locally.
Or swap out for a different mail client or a mail-handling package; a package or a tool that's better suited for the scale that you're apparently working at, and the requirements you have.

  • Rule to move Read mail to folder in Mac.mail

I Would like all my email to arrive in my Inbox and automatically be moved to a specific folder once I have read it. I would like to set a Mail rule to do this but can't find a way. Any tips appreciated.

Mail rules can't do that. you can set up an apple script that moves all read messages from inbox where you want. you can then set up a launch daemon or a cron to run this apple script periodically. However, I'm not completely clear how you want this to work. something like this will activate as soon as you click on a message and it's status changes to read (that takes only a couple of seconds). How can you be sure that you've finished reading it before the rule applies?

  • Delete emails from a specific folder in Exchange 2010 SP1

    Hi all,
Since Exchange 2010 SP1 does not have “-DeleteContent” parameter in mailboxexportrequest any more, how do we delete emails from a specific folder of a user mailbox? (Personal folder, not default folders).
Please note that the ASQ for searchquery in Search-Mailbox does not support “folder”.
If going for retention policy, is there a way to tag a retention policy to a specific folder of a user mailbox without user attention?
    William Yang
    William Yang

    Hi William,
Yes, you may not run the Search-Mailbox to delete items in specific folder at the moment. Hope it will be back soon.
You can create a Personal tag, users can apply personal tags to folders they create. But users have to select related Retention Policy using Outlook or OWA manually.

  • Move email from Inbox to Local Folder using Message Filter moves header only, not contents.

I created a Message Filter to move email from Inbox to a Local Folder based on Date. The email headers were moved, but not the contents. Since I'm using IMAP, all the emails were deleted from the server.
I searched for similar problems and I followed one suggestion to "repair" one of the target Local Folders, but that made things worse. Now the header information (Subject, From, Date (now set to the date the transfer was done, not the email received date) is all blank.
The Local Folder properties indicate the email is contained in
    mailbox:///C:/Users/Ted/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/c65xcqqf.default/Mail/Local Folders/Archives.sbd/2010
I can see the messages from other Local Folders here, but the ones "moved" are empty.
    Should this location be changed?
Is there some way to recover the email contents?

  • How to Filter Email or Direct Email to a Specific Folder

    Hi
I've just bought a Blackberry Z10 but I cannot find how to filter my email. I was able to do this on my older Blackberry Edge.
What I'm trying to do is filter emails by subject, sender, or other parameters. Alternatively, I would like to be able to direct email from specific senders into a seperate folder. As I said, I could do this on my BB Edge but I've searched the web to no avail.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks George

    Hi George,
Thanks for your question on email filtering.
What type of email account are you using - ActiveSync, Gmail, Hotmail POP/IMAP etc?
What type of email are you trying to filter - junk email or emails from a specific contact?
    Thanks!

  • Move emails from apple mail to windows outlook

    Hello Everyone,
I have recently bought a windows laptop as majority companions in my office have windows only. I also have mac book pro having apple mail as my e-mail client. I work in a small company in which e-mail is the life blood of our company. So now what I need to do is move all my emails from apple mail to outlook that is present in windows laptop. I haven't found any answers or discussions regarding this topic on this forum site. Can any one please help me get over with this problem or atleast guide me or direct me to the forum where solution for this query is posted.
Your help will be really appreciated. Thank you.

If both system are using the IMAP mail provider all you have to do is setup the connection to the mail server and all the emails and folders will be copied down to the windows computer. That is what IMAP is for. The mail stays on the server, and can be store on the local computer also, and when you connect to the server with another device, computer, phone or pad, all the mail with folders gets copied to the other device.
But I think some of your mail was gotten using POP so it is not longer on the server.
Or you have emails in local folder only and they would be on the server. But you can create folder on the server in one mail program, or on the mail web interface and then copy those emails into those folder on the server byt copying them in one of the email programs. Then when you logon with the other device all of them will be downloaded to the other device.

Sorry but this didn't work. I have around 4000 mails in some what 45 folders. Using IMAP i can transfer only one file at a time, that will take me days to transfer that amount of files.
Are there any other options available...???

Who is the email account provider?
With an Apple iCloud account, there is a preference setting with the account settings on the iPhone to archive messages - save deleted messages in your Archive folder.
I believe the same is available with a Gmail account.

  • Can you manually move files within a folder to put them in a specific order?

I am new to mac, I was wondering if there is an app maybe that you could move files within a folder (ie photos) to make them in a specific order and then rename them, I used to be able to do this with my windows xp..... cant seem to make it happen with my new macbook pro and from what i can gather it cant be done? can it? Thanx in advance.........

Thomas, I have set the view to maunally but when i move the icons they return to where they were sitting..?
In the Finder? You probably have a sort selected in the Sort By submenu in the View menu. However, the order of icons in icon view won't have any influence on the order of the images in the slideshow, I think. Use iPhoto, this is one of the things it's made for, the Finder is not.
