Outlook no longer has any Contacts

After a Microsoft Upgrade this week (week of 9/9/13), when you attempt to view your contacts and you look at the folder sidebar, there is nothing and no contacts are shown. If you close the sidebar and then reopen it, you can see all your folders briefly and then they all disappear with a blue area where the folders should be. Looks like one of those Microsoft/Apple spats again. I uninstalled iCloud and reinstalled it to no avail. Will just have to wait for apple to update their iCloud program to fix the problem. Calendar works fine to and from all my Apple devices so it is not an iCloud issue but a Microsoft one.

I synked my iphone to my computer while it was logged in under another apple id and now all my wife's information os in my phone and all my info is gone. In the settings of my phone in the icloud section, it has my wife's email and I cannot change it. Any way I can fix this and get my contacts, photos and such back? Please help!!

If you're in recovery mode, all data is ALREADY lost. You've no choice but to restore.

I've already made sure the proper check boxes are on in Itunes and tried the reset sync history. Also re-downloaded Itunes again. Same problem.

Well, OSX 10.9.2 is free, which should solve the iTunes problem, but 10.9.2 isn't bug free, & you'll lose the ability to run any PPC Apps if that important, as well as needing to update many Apps & Printer Drivers.

ITunes no longer has any volume.

Last night when I was hooking my iPhone up to my computer I heard a loud pop. I couldn't figure out what it was at the time but as of this morning iTunes is silent when I try to play anything. If I open my files via VLC they play fine and the system volume is ok. However, in ITunes nothing ever comes out of the speakers. Additionally, I noticed that the volume slider at the top of iTunes is gray (though at 100%).
I tried deleting the plist files for iTunes and I even reinstalled iTunes. Nothing has solved this issue. Does anyone know what might have corrupted iniTunes or how I can fix this?

It started working

The "back" icon no longer has any color when it is available; it used to turn blue.

The "back" arrow, "home" and "reset" used to turn blue when I could use them. The "back" arrow always was blue whenever I could go back; now there is no color change at all. They are all white and gray. How can I put color back into them?

Thanks for your reply. That is what I feared. I never signed up for iCloud service because I was going to get a different phone around the time iCloud came about... oh well, it is what it is. At least I removed all Contact info on it at the time because I wanted to maximaze the space I needed for music!

EnvironmentConfig.addDataDir no longer has any effect?

I've been using various berkeleydb versions for almost a decade and a half with the same configuration in the DatabaseEnvironment setup:

        config.addDataDir(dataDirectory);
        File logDirectory = new File(baseDirectory, "log");

        oldLogDirectory.mkdirs();
        File tmpDirectory = new File(baseDirectory, "tmp");
        tmpDirectory.mkdirs();
        config.setTemporaryDirectory(tmpDirectory.getPath());
Suddenly, after a recent switch to version 6.1 of berkeleydb, the addDataDir call seems to be having no effect. Instead, all the database files get created in the baseDirectory. Oddly the log files are still going in the log subdirectory, old log files in oldlog, etc. Just data files seem affected. Weirder, if I use an existing database, it finds them, but new databases I create *since* the change go in the wrong directory. This seems simple as can be, so I don't see how I can suddenly be screwing this up after 14 years. When I examine the result of getDataDirs upon creating the tables it has the single directory I set it to. But it is clearly ignoring it for NEWLY created tables. So why is this suddenly happening?

KDZ is correct! setDataDir is deprecated. Replacement calls are addDataDir and setCreateDir. The java version of the doc is not as clear as it could be and we will correct that.   A better description is found in the C doc.

You are right, Adobe does not support CS5 because it is no longer sold.
Simply download the trial version of CS5 from this Adobe web site and input your serial number.

Cant get my Outlook contacts and mail set up without crashing...error message is "Apple Outlook DAV config has stopped working"

When I check the box to add Mail, Contacts, etc to iCloud, it goes through the setup about half way and crashes on the contacts. Error message is:
"Apple Outlook DAV Config has stopped working" Any suggestions? I can't get this stuff set up! Thank you

Welcome to the  discussion forums.
Try going to synching in the sources menu on your tv and selecting 'change itunes library', when it gives you the passcode check itunes to see if the tv is showing up as a new device, if so try entering the pass code. It may be that your tv is seeing itunes as a different library because of a recent upgrade.

Deleting an account from a device will not delete the information from the account, if that is what you are asking.

Did you take a look at the new feature Apple - iOS 8 - Family Sharing ?
Apple - iCloud - Family Sharing
Up to now, songs bought from iTunes could only be played by the Apple ID that has been used to buy them.
If you set up Family Sharing, your daughter can also play your songs and use the same contact info as before.
If you don't want to do that, sync the contact info to the address book on your computer, and sync the info back, using iTunes:
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB
If the iPad already has her Apple ID and contact info on it, restore the phone from the latest iPad backup.
