Outlook on a remote Win 7 PC won't connect to our exchange server

Hi,
Since last Wednesday, users at our remote site aren't able to use their Outlook.  When they open Outlook, Outlook keeps asking for a user name and a password.  On the exchange server, there are several entries for EventID 4625.
EventID 4625 has the following failure information, "Failure Reason: An Error occured during Logon.", "Status: 0xc000006d", & "Logon Type: 3".
If one of the PC is brought back to the main office, it would work fine.
I have checked the firewall and opened a lot of ports for testing, but no luck.  The same setup had been working for more than 10 month.  A user first reported the problem on last Wednesday morning.  Can this be cause by the monthly software
update?
Thanks.
Johnnie

Hi Johnnie,
Thanks for your question. What's the version of your Outlook client? Could you please share the complete event log with us? We shall take a further look then.
This event (Event ID: 4625) is generated when a logon request fails. It is generated on the computer where access was attempted.
Since this was first reported on last Wednesday, right after the Patch Tuesday of Microsoft, it could be caused by an installed update. I haven't seen any others reported the same issue, you might want to go ahead to troubleshoot the recently installed
updates and see whether it's caused by a faulty patch.

  • Outlook can't connect to our Exchange server.

I give up, it just won't work.
When i add an account in Outlook and specify our server, it just stays at this window:
It never disappears. If i close it i get an unencrypted connection which i don't want.
I've probably configured it wrong somewhere, hints?

    Hi,
For this issue, please ping the Exchange server from the client to check if you can ping Exchange server successfully.
Did you create the Outlook profile automatically or manually?
In order to troubleshoot the issue more efficiently, could you please describe the message in the Windows Security?

  • Verizon iphone won't connect to MS exchange server

When I input my information to set up the account via my office Microsoft Exchange Server I get an error message on my phone saying it is unable to connect.
Anyone else have this problem and able to resolve it?

New iPhone 4 Verizon. I had trouble setting up Exchange Server for my work email. Our IT person on Monday morning had me enter my user name with a prefix that I would never had guessed on my own (domain\username)and it's working great since then. In fact, the work email is pushed to the iPhone FASTER than it gets routed to my desktop at work. The phone BINGS to notify me of a new email moments before my desktop does the same. Synchs my Outlook calendar to the iPhone automatically too. So perhaps there is some setting for you that needs to be tweaked when setting it up?

  • Outlook 2010/2013 clients, outside of our main office, can't connect to our Exchange 2010 server

    Hi,
Our remote users had been connecting to our Exchange server at our office since the Exchange server was installed in 2011.
Starting last Wednesday, Outlook 2010/2013 clients, outside of our main office, can't connect to our Exchange 2010 server.  Outlook kept asking for a username and a password.  At the same time, entries of Event 4625 were generated on the Event
    log on out Exchange server.
Events 4625 has the following properties, "Logon Type: 3", "Failure Reason: An Error occured during Logon.", "Status: 0xc000006d", "Logon Process: NtLmSsp", and "Authentication Package: NTLM".
By the way, I had used a laptop to test this problem.  Its Outlook work fine ion the main office, but it won't work outside of our office.
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks.

after lion 10.7.3 update messed my mac had to restore from time machine now Outlook won't connect with microsoft exchange, any idea?

I've had a similar problem.  On my first boot up after installing 10.7.4,  Firefox would not open.  Crashed every time.  Safari was not affected.  I have no idea if it was related to the flash plugin, but I did install a the latest version of that a couple of weeks ago.
Here's what fixed it: a second boot up.

  • Need free OST viewer tool to help to view OST files without connecting to MS Exchange Server and MS Outlook.

Need free OST viewer tool to help to view OST files without connecting to MS Exchange Server and MS Outlook.

    Hi Howard,
As I know, Microsoft does not provide any kind of inbuilt tool or free software to only view OST file, even without the connectivity with exchange server (Offline).
Try SysTools OST Viewer freeware which helps you to view all OST file save at your system in an easy way, whether you want to see the attachments or other items of OST file.
Note: This is a free inbuilt utility, but try it on your own risk as I am not much aware about it and its working. But this tool sounds good according to your requirement and hopefully it would give you 100% satisfaction.
    Thanks

Is there a way to sync outlook calendars with Imac, Ipad, Iphone calendars?  I am not running exchange server.

    hello,
BlackBerry devices do not support ActiveSync.
you have several ways, from best to less good :
    1)
if your company has set up Outlook Web Access, you can use the BIS connection of your device to connect to the Exchange server (email + Address book) through the url of the Outlook Web Access. The OWA needs to be accessible from outside the company.
    2)
if your company has setup an external link to the exchange server (can be accessible from outside the company), you can configure your BIS directly to the Exchange server (email only if I recall correctly)
    3)
if your company allows it, on your PC you can setup your email account to automatically forward all incoming emails to a third party email (like GMail or Hotmail), and then configure BIS to connect to that email provider. You will get push email. You can then setup a reply-to: field.
    4)
use a Windows Mobile phone that has the ActiveSync feature.

The two things to try first are renewing your network lease, forgetting the network and if that doesn't work to reset all networks. You might have tried one of these but I'll repeat the steps just to make sure.
Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the blue arrow to the right of your network name > Renew Lease
    If that doesn't work then
Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the blue arrow to the right of your network name > Forget this Network
    If that doesn't work
Settings > General > Networks > Reset All Networks > then reset your iPhone by
Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
I hope one of these will help.

My itunes won't connect to the itunes server. Can someone help?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.
When you repost, you'll need to include a lot more informaton about your system and the exact nature of the problem. As it is, there's nothing for anyone to base a diagnosis on.

When I set up in outlook, I have noticed this in advanced connection settings:
    the URL is required
    mail.ex4.secureserver.net
    Then check connect SSL only
Only connect to proxy servers with this principal name
    msstd:mail.ex4.secureserver.net
When I use the connect principal, it works fine, but otherwise if it is not checked, it won't connect to the server.
    http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Q_26423254.html
However, when I restart outlook, because I have multiple exchange accounts, they keep becoming "unchecked".
Everything worked fine about 48 hours ago, and now... all these problems.

  • OS 9 computers won't connect to OS X Server 10.3.9

    Hi,
I just installed Panther server on our network. I've got shares running and all of our OS X computers are connecting nicely. For some reason the few 9.2.2 computers we have won't connect to the server. The server shows up in the chooser, but when I click to connect I just get a spinning status bar telling me it's trying to connect. When I click cancel an authentication dialog box comes up, but when I click on connect I get an alert telling me that the connection has been unexpectedly broken. Does anyone know how to make this work? Thanks.
G5 1.6 Ghz (Server), 2nd Gen iMacs (Clients) Mac OS X (10.3.9) Server on OSX Server 10.3.9, Clients on 9.2.2

Unfortunately, resetting the PRAM, and the SMC, did not solve the problem.  Even though Bluetooth on the Mac Mini seems to be functional, I'm concerned that it only wants to allow connection to a keyboard or a mouse, or to transfer files to, say, an iPhone.  No Sound actions are available in terms of Bluetooth connectivity.
Question:  about 10 months ago, I noted the fan high at high speeds all of a sudden, and little I could do would correct it.  So, I downloaded smcFanControl 2.5.2, and use this to keep the fan at a slightly higher level than would otherwise happen, in order to maintain the CPU temperature below roughly 50 degC.  Would running this app interfere with reset of the SMC?  Or, with full operation of Bluetooth?
Alternatively:  would upgrading from Mavericks to Yosemite provide any benefit?

  • Apple Mail won't connect to GoDaddy pop server

    Hi all,
I have entered all the correct server information to connect to GoDaddy's pop server but Mail won't connect. I can connect to the smtp server without a problem. The same settings work perfectly in Entourage, so my information is correct. Has anyone else experienced this issue and fixed it?
    Here are the settings:
    POP: pop.secureserver.net
    AUTHENTICATION: password
    Thanks,
    John

Mine stopped wotking on the 9th, under the mail app on the left hand side, if you have triangles with ! marks in them, perform a left click and start "Mail Connection Doctor" This may help pinpoing the issue.
Mine is failing at trying to connect on port 143.
This worked for me, go the accounts settings window and in each gmail account enter the following info
    Advanced Tab
    IMAP Path Prefix enter [Gmail]
If you then tick "Use SSL" this should make the port 993
Authentication shold be set to "password"
Then save these settings, finally email is received, hope this helps.
Let is know how you get on.
