Outlook password

When I attempt to set up an e-mail account with Outlook, it asks me for "the password my Internet provider has given me." Where the hell do I find this?

www.verizon.net/port25
It might work elsewhere, because elsewhere may not have this important change.
So What kind of email are you using.  Is it one of verizon's [email protected]?  or is it a company email?
From the Advanced tab, review the area underneath Server Port Numbers. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field enter the number: 465.
Once you are finished, select OK.

    Try a reboot:
To reboot your iPad, hold down the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears. If, during this process, a slider appears on the screen to power it off, ignore it and keep holding the buttons down.
Rebooting your iPad can solve a lot of problems. Once you do that, go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and make sure the correct, new password is entered in that account.

  • Outlook Password Prompts events

Few mailboxes (not many) where reported with outlook password prompt and I'm trying find events related to outlook password prompts..
Need help on, where to find the event logs related to outlook password prompt.. Do I need to configure any perform or new captures to captures those events ?

    Hi,
I'n my experience this can be cause by additional mailboxes mapped to the account.
On the client that is experience the password prompt, right click on the Outlook icon in the bottom right while holding shift. Then select Connection status. You should be able to see the connections to the exchange.
Check is there is any connection that is in the state connecting when you get the password prompt. The Type will tell you what kind of connection this is and if it's an additional mailbox or mapping.
When a user has full permissions to an mailbox it is automatically mapped to the user.
You can disable this if wanted.

That would be question for the Outlook or client forums I would think
You can disable the credentials manager with a GPO or by uninstalling/disabling it

  • How to recover the Outlook password?

I have just started a new job, and am on my own in an office (no IT support).
I am using Outlook 2007, but we can't recieve any emails. The pst file is almost 3GB so i have made another one and am trying to clear old stuff from the old one to the new to free up space. However, it wont let me delete or remove any emails or folders from
the old pst. I can't change the settings because it's password protected, but no one knows what the password is (could have been set by an old employee years ago). Is there a way of recovering the password and accessing the settings of the old pst so i can
    start clearing stuff?

    Hi,
Microsoft has added password protection capability to many features in Office programs to help prevent unauthorized access to important information. If you are unable to access information because you do not know the correct password, please realize that:

  • Outlook password prompt after CU7 installation

    Hi
I have Exchange 2013 in a resource forest. We use linked mailboxes.
The clients are connecting using Outlook Anywhere.
    As Authentication we use NTLM.
This Weekend I installed CU7. This morning all users received a passwort prompt when starting outlook. After entering the password, Outlook can be closed and restarted again without a password prompt. But after a reboot of the client, the password prompt
    comes again.
    Any Suggestion?
    Regards
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
I have never seen CU7 removed WindowsIntegrated authentication from AutoDiscover VD before, maybe some other reasons cause this. Great information. Thanks for your generous sharing : )

  • Outlook Password Not Working

     Hi all,
I ma having an issue with Outlook 2013.
It seems that for some reason it will not recognize my Username and password for Synching folders.
It works for sending and receiving messages, but when it tries to synch folders it comes back as wrong.
How can this be possible, doesn't it use the same UN/ PW for sending/ receiving as synching??
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
What type of account do you use? Exchange, IMAP or POP3?
Please go to webmail to change the password for your account, then go to
Control Panel, search and open Credential Manager ->
Windows Credentials -> Under Generic Credentials, find
    MicrosoftOffice... -> Click Remove.
Then start Outlook again, type in the new password to try again.
If this issue persists, I suggest you create a new profile to setup the account:

Only you create Outlook/Microsoft account & its password is known only to you.

If you've forgotten the password (Outlook), please visit the Microsoft website and see for the Forgot the password link. It'll have options for helping with that.

  • Outlook Password input Screen

    Greetings
I have a small Bed&Breakfast client that has the following situation:
    1) 5 people use the same Reception PC at all times of the day.
    2) There are programs running on the PC that require that the same user be logged in all the time (so I can not use multiple Windows Profiles)
    3) He has just upgraded to Outlook 2013 from Thunderbird
    4) Each user, when they log into their mail, gets access to their own IMAP mail account and 2 shared IMAP mail accounts
This is what they had in Thunderbird:
When you start up Thunderbird, it asks for your profile. Each user selects their own profile. When their profile is selected, an add-on was installed that asked for a personal password that was used to access their personal mail account. Only if the correct
password was entered, would Thunderbird start up properly.
They would like the same in Outlook
However, you can not password protect an OST file (which would be the Home Run solution, in this case)
This is not for major security protection, just simple prying eyes from other employees, all equally technophobic
What I have set up so far:
    1) Each employee has their own mail profile setup in the Mail Control Panel program.
    2) Each profile connects to their personal mail account and each of the two shared accounts, all filtering into their own .OST files
    Solutions I have tried:
    1) I added an empty PST file to their profile with a password on the PST file. While it did ask for a password before logging in, if they hit the "Cancel" button they would get access to all the mail accounts
    2) I tried to find a program that would password protect the OST file at the file level. Unfortunately, all the programs I seemed to find would put the file into a "vault" and there was no program the would just put up a quick password box before
allowing another program to access the file
    3) I tried my hand at some "cut and Paste" VBA programming. This was the most successful as I got an almost perfect solution (A popup asks for a password, and if the right one is entered then Outlook opens, otherwise Outlook shuts down), which you
can see below, except that it does not show "****" when the password is entered in the InputBox.
My vague attempts at some VBA programming:
    Private Sub Application_Startup()
    Dim oProfile As Outlook.NameSpace
    Set oProfile = Application.GetNamespace("MAPI")
    Retval = InputBox("Enter password:", "Outlook Security", ,8000 , 3000)
    Select Case oProfile.CurrentProfileName
    Case "1. Employee 1"
        If Retval = "password1" Then
            Exit Sub
        Else
            Application.Quit
        End If
    Case "2. Employee 2"
        If Retval = "password2" Then
            Exit Sub
        Else
            Application.Quit
        End If
    Case "3. Employee 3"
        If Retval = "password3" Then
            Exit Sub
        Else
            Application.Quit
        End If
    Case Else
    Application.Quit
    End Select
    End Sub
Like I said, this code works brilliantly and does exactly what I want.... except it shows the password when the user types it in. Now, I realise that their security is a joke, but they are not happy that anyone looking over their shoulder (which could be anyone,
even guests at the B&B) can see their password.
So then I went to go add a UserForm....
And that is not working at all.
    Private Sub Application_Startup()
    Userform1.Show
    End Sub
Is how I call the Userform... but then Outlook opens before anything is typed into the form.
And putting the Select Code On the OK button does not seem to do anything.
Can anyone please help me to either:
    1) Implement the Select Case solution with the Userform
    2) Have any other ideas how I can give them what they want...
    Thanks
PS. Please use detailed instructions as I am not a VBA programmer and I am just muddling around with it. Thanks you

Id the users are technophobes, remove the Outlook icon from the desktop and Start menu and add an icon to your own app that will prompt for a user name and password and launch Outlook with the specified profile (Namespace.Logon) depending on what the user
    specified for the credentials.

  • Outlook password prompt for mailboxes on Exchange 2013 CU1

I migrated a few users from our Exchange 2007 SP3 Update 10 server to Exchange 2013 CU1. Now in Outlook they are getting a password prompt, and it won't accept their password. Our public folders are still on Exchange 2007 if that makes a difference.
    I tried running
         Test-OutlookConnectivity -GetDefaultsFromAutoDiscover:$true
but it says it doesn't recognize the parameter -GetDefaultsFromAutoDiscover:$true
    Here's the values for Get-OutlookAnywhere:

  • Outlook password non alpha-numeric characters

i just updated my password, including an @ symbol. The password works with AppleID and outlook via MSN, but when I try to update or reset the password on iPhone and iPad (both iOS8), they can't recognize the password. Anyone with workaround or similar issue?

There might be another option that I'm not aware of, but this might just do the trick for you (I don't have a live Oracle connection available to me at this moment so I couldn't test it, you might need to debug it):
    select * from tablename where 0 <> length(replace(translate(lower(columnname),'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz1234567890',' '),' ',''));
What it does is it takes the string from the column, converts all letters and digits into spaces, removes the spaces and compares the length with 0. If the string contains 'strange' characters, they will not get removed and thus turnup a length greater than 0. Pittfalls:
    1) Make sure the number of spaces in the second argument of the translate is equal to the number of characters in the first argument.
    2) This doesn't make use of indexes...

  • Outlook password needed frequently

Does anyone else have the problem with Mail keep asking me for my outlook.com password. me.com and gmail.com never happens?

Sounds like a Keychain issue. Try:
in Mail, delete the outlook account.
Go to Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access
under Keychains on the left, select login
    for category, select All Items
use the search bar to look for all the keychain entries related to
    delete those keychain entries
in Keychain Menu > Keychain First Aid, put in your password, select repair, and start
I don't know if a restart is necessary at this point, but it wouldn't hurt
