Outlook Recurring  meetings are deleted

I'm syncing my iphone 3g to outlook 2003. Outlook is synced with Oracle Collaboration suite.
What's happening is my recurrting meetings are being converted to non re-curring which is very frustrating as it's wipping half my week's meetings.

I had a backup. But it was of an OST file, which is the file that is kept on my local computer that corresponds to what is stored on my company's Exchange server. Since I was connected at the time to the Exchange server when iTunes wiped out my recurring appointments, the Exchange server got updated. But when I tried to restore the old OST file from my backup, Outlook complained that it was too old, and I had to delete it, and have Outlook create a new one from the Exchange server, which, of course, did not have the deleted appointments.
So then I disconnected my machine from the Internet, restored the OST file again, copied the recurring appointments from there to a local PST file, and then copied from the PST file back to the new OST file when I reconnected.
What a pain.

  • IPhone + Outlook, recurring meetings not adjusted for Daylight Saving (Arizona)

Anybody else out there living in Phoenix and syncing with Outlook?
I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1 and I sync my calendar with Outlook 2007 running on Windows XP.  Recurring meetings that were sent from another timezone are not showing the correct time following the Daylight Saving Time (DST) change on Nov. 6.
For example, I have a recurring meeting for Tuesdays that was originally sent to me July 26, 2011 (during DST, that is) by my customer in California.  In Outlook the time is shown as 8:00 AM Pacific Time.  During DST this meeting was shown correctly in Calendar as 8:00AM.  Today it still shows as 8:00 but should show as 9:00 (8:00 PST = 9:00 MST).
Phone Settings:  My iPhone's time zone was originally set this morning to "Set Automatically ON" and it had selected Denver although I'm in Phoenix.  I understand that Denver and Phoenix now share the same time.  I turned "Set Automatically" off and selected "Phoenix, U.S.A." then resynced, but the appoinment above still shows 8:00.
So how do I fix this?  I really don't want my customer to have to resend the invite just to fix an iOS bug.

Not sure if people are still looking at this post, but we did finally find a fix for the issue.
In the end we figured out that one of our exchange mail box users had something faulty in their profile. By "faulty", our exchange admins attempted to move the user's mail profile from one mail store to another, but exchange returned errors when attempting to do so.
In order to "fix" the issue we ended up deleting the mail profile completely from exchange and then recreating it from scratch - scary prospect when having to do this with someone high up the food chain... (prior export and reimport essential otherwise all data is lost)
(the user dealt with many meetings for multiple staff, and was a common factor between all users getting the issue)
I wouldn't call this specifically a MS issue as prior to ipad/iphones, these issues did not occur, and even while it was occuring, turning off mail on ipad/iphones meant the issue did not occur and other email clients had no issues at all
    - so it looks like something in the iphone is not quite robust enough to be able to handle a few errors
(alternative theory: perhaps it is the iphone that created the issue in the first place??? We don't know when the issue with the actual mail account started and not enough resources to trowel through log files looking for a needle in a haystack)
Anyway, not sure if this will help everyone with the same issue, but thought I'd share our experience

  • Outlook Recurring Meetings Never Fully Synch'd

Intellisync seems to be confused about my Outlook 2007 recurring meetings. I haven't deduced a definite pattern yet, but the basic problem is that the Tour 9630 and the Outlook calendar never seem to think they're synchronized. I have two-way sync enabled. I push the "Synchronize" button and I accept all changes. I then push "Synchronize" again and there are more changes. I accept all changes, but the next "Synchronize" shows more. This never seems to end. The changes seem to center around old instances of recurring meetings being copied from the device to the calendar. I tried the "Re-Sync" button on the "Confirm Calendar Edits" dialog, then I restarted Desktop Manager and Outlook, but the problem persists.

    That's seems odd per:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj688011.aspx
    What is the user experience?
Have you followed all the decommission steps? Have you tried Move-CsConferenceDirectory:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412968.aspx
"When you create a dial-in conferencing Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), those URIs are assigned unique SIP addresses. However, SIP addresses are difficult to translate to devices that are not SIP-aware; for example, a public switched telephone network
(PSTN) telephone can’t translate a SIP address. Because of that, Lync Server uses conference directories as a way to help these devices locate, and connect to, dial-in conferences. This is done by creating a SIP conference directory that is associated with
each dial-in conferencing URI, and is identified by an integer value rather than a SIP URI. PSTN telephones and other devices can then use these numbers instead of a SIP URI when connecting to conferences; the directory number is included in the PSTN conference
identification users enter when connecting to a dial-in conference.
Occasionally, you might need to move a conference directory from one pool to another; for example, if you decommission a pool you might need to move your existing conference directories to a new location. The
Move-CsConferenceDirectory cmdlet enables you to move conference directories to a different pool."

  • Outlook Multiday/Recurring meetings move to the next day on iPhone/iPad and Outlook for MAC.

Exchange 2010 environment.  Outlook 2007 and 2010 on Windows desktops.  Multiple day appointments or recurring meetings in Outlook do not appear on the iPhone, iPad or Outlook for MAC with the same date.  They are all moved forward to the next day.  Single day or non-recurring meetings are synced correctly.  Not finding much on this.  All users affected with these devices.

i have the exact same situation... called Apple Care and they were no help without the $29 incident plan... hoping for a solution before i go that route

  • Outlook and BB - items deleted from outlook calendar not shown as deleted in blackberry?? WHY?

Once meetings are deleted in Outlook they are for some reason still shown as active in my blackberry.  Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can resolve it?
Do i need to resynch them?
    HELP!

From what I remember, for them to be removed from the blackberry, they have to be in the deleted items folder while the phone reconciles, but I might be mistaken.
If you try creating a test calendar item, let the BB pick it up, delete it from outlook leaving the item in the deleted items folder and wait for the phone to reconcile again (or force reconcile now).

  • BAD: Outlook Calendar items are removed as they occur!

I canceled my ME.COM account because it didn't work at all. The syncing affected my calendar and it looks like it tweaked something in iTunes.
When I sync - it looks like iTunes decides to remove events from my calendar in Outlook 2007. This is *TOTALLY UNNACEPTIBLE*! If I sync several times a day (which I do) - my calendar entries that have passed dissapear!
THIS WILL NEVER WORK for business. I am very dissapointed in the way iTunes works - I can't remove apps etc.
This will drive me back to a blackberry if I am not able to get support from Apple. I hope they are listening.
I need to sync bi-directionally and trust that the middleware won't destroy my data! This is not the case - I can no longer trust that ANYTHING coming from the iPhone will not destroy my Outlook calendar!
Perhaps this is how Apple wants to ensure I switch to a Mac! Sorry for the rant - but I have tried unsuccessfully to get ANY support...

Haven't seen this exact issue, but as part of a "best practices" document we prepared for users, we've told them NOT to update or accept appointments from any mobile device ( including IOS devices), just to do it from the Outlook client.  Microsoft has also published a couple of best practices documents which you should look at if you haven't.  Also, recurring meetings are a huge issue; for example, the MS best practices is only to create recurring appointments that won't change much, if at all...if there is a recurring meeting that changes frequently, it's better to schedule multiple individual instances of it than one recurring appointment.

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, there is no direct GUI method in both Outlook and Exchange server to achieve this goal.
Maybe we can ask Script Center for help.

  • Outlook 2007 Calendar Monitoring: track send event for recurring meetings

    Hi,
I'm working on an Outlook 2007, VSTO 2010, .NET 3.5 add-in which monitors AppointmentItem objects changed on the user's calendar. Specifically I'm tracking the send event of the currently selected appointment in the calendar view. Currently my add-in is
set to cancel the send event and call Display() on the selected appointment instead.
I'm testing with Outlook 2007 SP3. The event handler is fired correctly for non-recurring meetings when the user changes the start or end time of the meeting and for recurring meeting occurrences / exceptions when the user changes the end time, but not when
the user changes the start time of a recurring meeting occurrence / exception. These are the specific steps:
Create a recurring appointment with e.g. 3 occurrences, add at least one attendee and send the invitation.
Set the Calendar to display a Week View.
Select the top edge of the first occurrence of the appointment created in step 1 and drag it upwards to increase the length of the appointment by half an hour.
Release the mouse button and press enter to confirm the change.
Answer 'Save changes and send update' in the popup.
At this point the addin should cancel the send event and display the appointment, but actually the event handler is not called. This behavior occurs only when I change the start time of an occurrence / exception. When I change the end time the event handler
    is called correctly.
Do you have any clue why the event handler is only called for the one change and not for the other? How could I work around this issue?

  • Outlook connector shows some deleted recurring events

We discovered an oddity that appears to be with the way Outlook shows a recurring event (seems to be an interpretation problem while reading and partially while writing). I'm using the connector from 139162-03 in either Outlook 2003 or 2007 set to sync calendar events every 1 minute and SCS6u2 on the backend with patches from around 2 months ago.
    Simplest way to reproduce:
    - On either a Sun web interface or in Outlook, create an event that recurs daily for 2 instances (or any equivalent way of making it recur twice, such as by setting the end date)
    - If you delete the second instance from the Web, Outlook will display it fine (given ample time to sync up completely).
    - If you delete the second instance from Outlook, the Web will display it fine, but the second instance will reappear in Outlook
    - Considering the previous two lead to a difference while the result on the web looks the same, there is probably a difference in the ICS for those events on the server but I have not checked.
    - Similar things hold true for deleting certain days of the even when recurring more than 2 times.
    - If only the original recurrence is modified, the deleted recurrence re-appears in Outlook with similarities to the original event, not the one that was deleted.
    - I'm not 100% sure on most of the behavior description since I may have been confused by changes that have not completely propagated through yet, but one thing I am sure of is a 2 day recurring event will have the second instance show back up pretty soon if the second instance is deleted in Outlook.
Initially I'm wondering if anyone else can reproduce this. We will most likely take it up with Sun's support soon but I thought I would try here first. Thanks.

I was able to find two recently created bugs which I assume are related to problem behaviour:
bug #6874243 - "deleted instances of a recurring series are still visible in OC"
bug #6883111 - "Moving an instance of a recurring event with attendees actually moves the first instance"

  • Outlook Sync Error with Recurring Meetings on SharePoint Calendar

We have a SharePoint (Foundation 2010) calendar that users also connect to Outlook (2010/2013). We are experiencing a problem with emailing recurring meeting requests to the SharePoint calendar; the item is received and populated properly on the SP calendar
but Outlook fails to sync the item.
The Outlook client then displays a send/receive error: [ Task 'SharePoint' reported error (0x80004005) : 'Failed to copy one or more items. For details, see the log file.'
] The error in the log file reads: "Error mapping item #140"
This issue only occurs when recurring meeting requests are emailed to the SP calendar list. Recurring meetings sync properly with Outlook when the meeting is created directly on the SP site and when created directly on the calendar view within Outlook.
I will appreciate any insight to this matter.
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi,
This issue may occur if Outlook cannot connect to the Sharepoint List so that
Outlook changes cannot sync to the Sharepoint. Please try the following steps and check if it helps:
    1. This error message could be caused that the PC with the Outlook installation couldn´t access the CRL from the HTTPS certificated used on the SharePoint server. To check that open the sharepoint Web site, and check the SSL certificate. There is an entry
for the CRL. Now check from the affected PC if the CRL could be accessed.
    2. Check AAM configuration and we can try to browse the URL
http://intranet ; then we can recreate the connection to Sharepoint in Outlook, try to sync it and then check the result
See this thread with similar problem:

Since this question is also related to SharePoint, you can also post in SharePoint forum to check if we can get good ideas there:

  • When I try to synchronise my calendar it all goes wrong when I have recurring appointments which I enter on Outlook. These are in the format ' first Tuesday of each month' as I play Bridge with different partners on different days each month so it is NOT

When I try to synchronise my calendar it all goes wrong when I have recurring appointments which I enter on Outlook. These are in the format ' first Tuesday of each month' as I play Bridge with different partners on different days each month so it is NOT every 4 weeks necessarily, it depends on the month.  These get lost on synchronisation or sometimes end up on a totally different day/date.  What can I do as it is very annoying.
Also it altered some theatre dates where I had entered both date and name of play - the name of the play vanished when I synchronised not just on i-pad but it deleted the info from Outlook as well.

Others have the same complaint.  iCal on the iPad can do recurring appointments, but not in the format you want (First Tuesday of every Month).  It will do the same DATE each month (e.g, the 25th of each month), but for now it does not do a particular DAY of each month.

  • Emails deleted on iPhone also are deleted on Outlook 2010

My boss has an older iPhone 3g that has been receiving pushed emails from an exchange server via forward to a Yahoo account and an iCloud account.  With the Yahoo/iCloud system he could deleted messages on the iPhone and they would remain in the Outlook 2003 inbox.  He is receiving a new PC with Windows 7 and Outlook Professional 2010.  The iPhone and iTunes are configured for Active Sync on the new system.  With Outlook 2010 and Active Sync emails that are deleted on the iPhone are now deleted on Outlook 2010.  The Exchange Server is 2010 running on Windows SBS 2011.  All software programs (iPhone, iTunes, and Microsoft software) are up to date with current releases.  Is there a way to delete emails on the iPhone and have them remain in the Outlook 2010 inbox?
    Thank you, Louis

Thank you diesel, I will have to find another way to tell my boss.  Using the Yahoo account and iCloud method he could clear his iPhone of emails and know they would still be on his office computer.  I guess he has a choice to make.
    Thanks again, Louis

  • Exchange Calendar Sync & Recurring Meetings

I'm having a problem with recurring meetings in my Outlook calendar.  I have a Touchpad and Pre Plus synced to the calender.  A couple of times when I recieved notice of a cancelled meeting for one occurence in a series, I clicked Remove from Calendar and it was removed from the Outlook calendar on my computer.  It was not removed from the calendar on the Touchpad and Pre, even after syncing.  If I try to delete the occurence from the devices it does not work - on the Touchpad the event disappears for a second or so and then re-appears.  On the Pre it just remains on the calendar.

  • Recurring meetings or tasks?

    Hi everyone,
Is there a way to schedule recurring meetings/tasks/events in a users calendar?
    Best regards,
    John

    Hi John,
Are you using Outlook for email? If yes, you could set up the meeting in Outlook and then sync to SBO with the Outlook Integration add-on. If other users are included in the meeting, this may be better since you can't invite/include other users in SBO meetings.
Otherwise, what you want to do is not feasible if you don't want to use Follow-up as a workaround (which I can understand since that's not what it is). It would probably be a SDK.
