Outlook Send/Receive
Hi,
Is there a reason why the send/receive settings for a user keep resetting anytime they restart their computer. In the organisation some users have a 3 minute interval but that will only remain for the day and as soon as they turn their computer on next morning,
the "Schedule and automatic send/receive every...." check box is unchecked. Can't seem to figure out why that is as it's only happening to a small number of users.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Hi,
What type of email account are the users using? Do they use a registry cleaner utility?
If Windows reboots, settings aren't always saved. Registry cleaners will often block changes. If you have a registry cleaner installed, please try disable it and then test the issue again.
In addition, group policy or log on scripts will also revert changes. Please contact your admin and confirm that if you are in such an environment.
Regards,
Steve Fan

AppleMobileDeviceSupport.MSI Generates Outlook Send/Receive Error
I had to install AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi seperately because on the initial install of itunes it errored. I updated to Vista SP1 and then installed just the MSI. Before I installed the MSI (and after the SP1 update) I was on Outlook and sent/received several times so it was working properly. But once the MSI was installed, Outlook started throwing 0x80042108 errors on send/receive.
Any suggestions/advice? Uninstalling the msi doesn't help!
Any assistance is appreciated!!I updated to Vista SP1 and then installed just the MSI.
Doublechecking something related to the SP1 install part of proceedings.
In your "Start" menu, right-click "Computer" and select "Manage". Click "Device manager".
Is your Device manager currently completely blank? -

Outlook 2013 send & receive is very slow or freezes
Hello. I recently purchased Office 2013 to install on my new laptop at the beginning of February. Everything was working fine up until a couple weeks ago. I am having issues in Outlook 2013, specifically I am not getting emails or when I send
emails they show as being sent but the customer never receives them. I have 2 email accounts setup and both are scheduled to automatically send and receive every 1 minute but even if I hit send & receive manually nothing works. Eventually the send/receive
window will open and freeze, showing "processing" or that there are 60 minutes left in trying to receive a message! I have never had an issue like this before and I need it to be fixed so I can continue to communicate with my customers! Please help!Does it throw any error code? Make sure the internet/network doesn't have any issues? Check whether the same mailboxes can be accessed in their webmail interfaces (say, OWA) and see you don't face any send/receive issues with that?
Do check whether you can repro the issue by opening Outlook in safe mode or not (Outlook.exe /safe)? If issue is not reproduced, then I would suspect one of the Outlook add-in may be causing this above issue.
You can check the send/receive groups. For more info, you can refer:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/why-use-send-receive-groups-HA102749372.aspx
Let me know how it goes.

As of 2014-March, the same thing happening on my system. This seems to have occurred, after the latest batch of 28 patches (including SP2 - KB2687455) from Microsoft Updates applied on 13-Mar-2014 and 19-Mar-2014. I have been running Outlook 2010
since it was first available.
An unhelpful error is thrown, after trying to manually perform a Send/Receive:
Not Implemented
While in Outlook 2010, clicking FILE > INFO reveals the following warnings in red:
"Upgrade in Progress. Your mailbox is currently being optimized as part of upgrade to Outlook 2010. This one time process may take over 15 minutes and performance may be affected while the optimization is in progress."
There's an "Upgrade Now" button but it fails to produce any visible result. Next to the button, another warning in red:
"You must upgrade to the latest version of Outlook Hotmail Connector to continue using this e-mail account."
Again, I do not have the Outlook Hotmail Connector installed. Nor have I recently upgraded to Outlook 2010.
I am unable to access ANY account settings, as well as poll my various mailboxes.
While reviewing the list of installed updates (Control Panel > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates), there are 28 approximate patches -
specifically, Service Pack 2 (KB2687455) - that were recently applied to Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010.
Microsoft, what the #$%# is going on?
I've read some related posts that suggest the core issue is other than what Outlook is reporting. The posts recommend the following. However, in my case, the below steps did not correct the
issue. In fact, the new profile would not allow me to view/manage the associated accounts or data files.
(1) Remove your current Outlook Profile. No worries - this doesn't affect your mail data (.PST files):
http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/outlook-help/remove-a-profile-HP010356455.aspx
(2) Create a new Outlook Profile:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/outlook-help/introduction-to-profiles-HA010355553.aspx
Note: Outlook complained "An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x80040154." However, exiting the Mail config window and relaunching shows that the new profile is intact.
(3) If you previously had the Outlook Hotmail Connector installed, reinstall it. If not, then just ignore and the warning should go away after creating a new Profile.
32-bit connector: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24677I was able to resolve this issue as follows. However, why it occurred is unknown at this time and
unrelated to a corrupted Outlook Profile, as mentioned on my prior post. It seems highly probable that it was caused by the recent batch of Microsoft Updates for this product which included Service Pack (SP) 2.
1) Performed a "repair" of Outlook 2010, via the Control Panel > Programs and Features.
2) Rebooted.
3) Prior to launching Outlook, returned to Control Panel > Mail and configured the location of my PST file (not in default directory).
4) Had to reestablish as off my mail accounts, settings/preferences/etc. This step was the most tedious and frustrating. -
Outlook 2011 for Mac users must click send/receive to get new mail from exchange 2013 server
I recently switched our primary CAS servers over from a single exchange 2010 cas/mailbox/hub server to a couple new exchange 2013 CAS/Mailbox servers. Exchange 2013 has cu3, and is hosted on windows server 2012. Anyone who has their mailbox hosted
on one of these exchange 2013 servers has an issue where they must click the send/receive button to get new messages downloaded to their client. This is only the case for outlook 2011 for mac client. Activesync clients, mac mail, OWA, and Outlook 2010/13
all behave normally.
Where can I look or what can I check to troubleshoot this issue?Hi,
Any good news from the Mac Forum?
Thanks,

Outlook 2010 Crashes After Opening During Send/Receive with a c0000005 Exception Code
Ok, I'm stumped! As soon as the user opens and loads Outlook, when it starts to do the send/receive, Outlook crashes. Here's a list of what I have tried along with the details that Windows
provided:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: OUTLOOK.EXE
Application Version: 14.0.6117.5001

Exception Code:

Fault process id:

Faulting module path: C:\\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\office 14\mso.dll
Additional information about the problem:
LCID:

I have:
Disabled add-ons
Tried Outlook in safe mode but still crashes
Uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook
Ran scanpst.exe
I have even installed this mailbox profile on a different computer that had a functioning Outlook profile on it, and it now causes the same issue after syncing from the Microsoft
Exchange server.
So, I logged into the Microsoft Portal online and checked for any emails that did not download from the webmail app to the Outlook box in case there was a corrupted email.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks!Hi,
Since the Faulting module is mso.dll, please browse to:
C:\\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\office 14.
Find mso.dll and rename it to mso.old. Then go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features to repair Office, a new mso.dll should be generated, open Outlook to check if the issue is fixed.
As you mentioned the issue persists on another machine with the same mailbox, I suggest you use the tool MFCMAPI to see if there's any items stuck in the mailbox.
To download the tool:
http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/releases/view/127629
Open the mailbox with the tool, then go to QuickStart -> Open Folder -> Inbox, check if there's anything stuck there which doesn't sync to Outlook. I suggest you order the items by size, since large items are more likely to be stuck.

Outlook 2013 Refuses Send/Receive
After my computer downloaded Windows updates automatically earlier today, when I click 'send/receive' Outlook 2013 (Microsoft Office 365) gives me a 'not implemented' error message.
I have disabled my anti-virus software. When I click 'Disable Scheduled Send/Receive' as suggested on some forums I get the error 'An OLE registration error occured. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program.'
I am running Windows 8.
When I try to uninstall Outlook I get 'Sorry We Ran Into A Problem. Error Code: 30175-4'.
How can I get Outlook to send/receive messages? Any help would be much appreciated.Hi,
Have you tried recreating your send/receive settings file (srs-file)? Navigate to
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook and then rename the
<mail profile>.srs file to <mail profile>.old. Restart Outlook to check if the issue persists. For more information about error 'not implemented', please refer:
http://www.msoutlook.info/question/825
For the 'An OLE registration error occured. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program.' error, you can try to run the
Regsvr32 ole32.dll command to check if it helps. See:
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/email/error-an-ole-registration-error-occurred/
Please let me know the result.

Outlook 2010 Send/Receive Issue
I have Windows. Office 2010. Norton Internet Security.
Microsoft Windows 8 x64 Business Edition (Build 9200)
Dell Inc. Inspiron 7720
iTunes 11.0.4.4
QuickTime 7.7.4
FairPlay 2.4.14
Apple Application Support 2.3.4
Using Outlook 2010, pop email addresses, if I edit a email in the outbox, it will get stuck there and not send. No errors. However, when i disable the iTunes outlook com add-in, it works as it should.
There is a bug in iTunes & Outlook 2010.Hi,
The user can’t send/receive any emails, not just can’t forward emails to his phone, right? If I’ve misunderstood something, please feel free to let me know.
Did he forward emails to his phone with Outlook rules?
Did he get any error message or the outgoing emails just stuck in Outbox?
Can he send/receive emails from web access? If not, please contact the user’s ISP to help resolve the problem.
If web mail works fine, we can follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue on Outlook side:
1. Please check if Outlook shows Disconnect on the bottom of the Window. Hold Ctrl key and right click on the Outlook icon on the tray, click Connection Status to check if your email account is disconnected.
2. If the user installed any security programs, please temporarily turn off them to check the result.
3. Try to reset Send/Receive settings to check the result. To do this, go to
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\
Locate the <profilename>.srs file and rename it to
<profilename>.old and restart Outlook to check the result.
4. If above not working, please try to create a new mail profile and setup the email account in the new profile to check the result.

Hope this helps.

Send/Receive progress bar is not shown in Outlook 2010
Hi friends,
when ever i press send and receive option or F9, am not getting the send and receive progress bar in the bottom of the corner side. kindly help meHi,
If you click the "Update Folder" button, will the Send/receive status bar appear?
Please browse to: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook, rename the .srs file to ".old", then start Outlook again to check if the problem persists. The .srs file stores the send/receive
settings and a new copy of it resets the send/receive settings, check if then the problem is gone.

I have to manually send/receive email since I upgraded to OS LION. Schedules don't work anymore, whatever I tried. Anyone with the same problem?
I use the following settings in Outlook and they work without problem. It may be that you will need to delete the account and set it up again. If you do delete it make sure that you back up any emails that are on your computer.

when trying to send/receive, receive error message "not implemented"
Also try to reset your srs-file to check if it helps. See:

run a repair of your Office installation to check the result. Same scenario and solution described here:

Outlook 2013 - "schedule an automatic send/receive" NOT functioning
Here is yet another bug in Outlook 2013 which remains at large.
Yes, "schedule an automatic send/receive" is not functioning, except in the case of Hotmail/Outlook.com
The only time new emails are getting download are when the Send/Receive button is clicked, or when the inbox of the account is selected.
Other than that Email is not getting checked/downloaded every thirty minutes as it is setup to do.
Oh, and please none of those generic "create a new profile" answers.
Thank you.Hi,
We have unmarked that thread. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
We have tried several steps to narrow down the issue in the previous thread. The issue is a little difficult, may not good to troubleshoot in the forum. We highly recommend you
