Outlook shared calendar link to sharepoint 2010

Hi,
I have an outlook shared calendar named "Managers Calendar", we have maintained all meeting schedules for 2014 inside this shared calendar (many events inside, kind of difficult to create again in sharepoint calenadr), is that a way to sync this
outlook shared calendar to SharePoint Calendar?

It should have, click on the ribbon .. I have seen on sharepoint 2010.
otherwise you can use another option , export in excel from outlook & than you can paste the entries by opening the share-point calendar list in
access view. (you have to use the same columns as sharepoint uses)

  • How to raise mail notification when ever the new event is added to calendar list in sharepoint 2010?

Hi experts, I need guidance or the way how we can raise mail,
When ever the new item is added / updated / deleted / cancelled to a calendar list in SharePoint 2010.
Shall we achieve it through using SharePoint designer 2010.
If its help to fix the requirement.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Dhayanand Kalimidi

    >I need to send the mail before 1 week from the date
This is different requirement. Initially you said you want send email when item is added / updated / deleted in list. For this you can use default alert to send instant email as  suggested before.
Now if you want to send reminder email then you can use designer WF and calculate the due date by using variable. Refer this link for your ref:
    http://mysharepointchronicles.wordpress.com/2012/11/05/sharepoint-list-with-workflow-email-reminder-set-to-send-30-days-from-created-date/

Remember event receiver can not send reminder email or scheduled email so for this either use designer WF or create timer job.
    Hope it could help

  • Access Outlook Shared/Delegated contacts in Word 2010's Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)

    Hello Nerds,
Is there any way to access Outlook Shared/Delegated contacts in Word 2010's Quick Access Toolbar (QAT).
I am able to see shared/delegated contacts in Outlook by clicking "Open Shared Contacts" but Word's 2010 QAT does not have any option to add/open shared contacts.
    Thanks much

    Hi,
Do you mean add Delegated Access or Shared Contact command to QAT in Word 2010?
These two commands only belong to Outlook, so we can’t add them to QAT in Word 2010.
More reference about Add commands to Quick Access Toolbar:

  • Displaying outlook shared calendar

Hi, I am trying to display a shared outlook calendar on a web
page. I can get my own calendar to display using this:
    <OBJECT ID="Calendar" WIDTH="100%" HEIGHT="70%"
    CLASSID="CLSID:0006F063-0000-0000-C000-000000000046" >
    <PARAM NAME="Folder" VALUE="Calendar">
    <PARAM NAME="Namespace" VALUE="MAPI">
    <PARAM NAME="Restriction" VALUE="">
    <PARAM NAME="DeferUpdate" VALUE="0">
    </OBJECT>
Anyone know how to link to a shared calendar? I am guessing
it has to do with the value attribute in the folder param, but
whatever I am trying is not working!
    Thanks!

I have seen a lot of weirdness with MOSS 2007 calendars syncing to Outlook, but as far as fixes, its normally not too bad. for this particular issue, you might just want to remove the calendars from their outlook and re-add them.
However, normally the most common issue is that outlook will allow users to create calendar entries that are invalid in SP.  i.e. the SP calendar has a required field, but Outlook does not allow users to edit that field as its custom (or outlook lets
you keep the title empty which also causes weirdness in syncs).
I would look and see what columns are required on the list, then export the list to excel and look for any items which have empty required fields.  Either, update those items, or delete them from the calendar, then resync to Outlook and it should be
    good.
There may be something different, but this is the most common thing I see on these issues, let me know if it helps or not.

  • One calendar view does not show up when configure calendar overlay in sharepoint 2010

I created 5 views for a calendar and wanted to create a calendar overlay to show all 5 views.
    Events 1
    Events 2
    Events 3
    Events 4
    Other events
but one view named "Other events" is not showing up when selecting view from "calendar" list.. (only the other 4 views are shown)
I checked that the view is created correctly and listed in views section in list settings.
    Don't know why ?
    Appreciate any advice

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that one of your calendar view didn’t display when configured the calendar overlay.
Was the “other events” view created by the Calendar View format?
You can only select the view created by the Calendar view format when you configure the calendar overlay.
I had tested with five view as your description, they are all the calendar views, and all the views could display when I configured the calendar overlay as below.
You can recreate a new view or a new calendar, then check whether it works.
There is an article about creating Calendar Overlay, you can check with it.

  • Outlook Shared Calendars

Ok so I have a client who uses Office 2010 who wants to share three calendars between three computers. They're using pop servers through their web host for email and not exchange. I know you can no longer use the "share calendar" option. What are
my other options. I don't mind paying a reasonable amount for a third party service or software if needed. I need the calendars to sync automatically. Any suggestions, I know of some possible solutions using sync software and google calendars, I'm just seeing
if there are any alternative options I could have missed. Thanks.

You can publish your calendars to Outlook.com or to a WebDav Server, but you'll need to check with your provider.
    Here's some more info:

  • Outlook shared calendar problems

    Hello,
I shared a calendar through Microsoft Exchange quite a while back and it's been working fine for all colleagues.  One of my colleagues has been experiencing problems with his after never having done so before.  If he tried to open an appointment
or meeting, outlook stops responding, crashes and has to reopen etc.  I've tried deleting the calendar and re sharing but that's not made any difference.  Can anyone help me please?

    Hi,
Please follow Eduard's suggestion to create a new Outlook profile to have a try. If it doesn't work, please also restart Outlook in safe mode to check whether the issue persists:
In the Start menu, search field or Windows key+R to open the Run command, type
    outlook.exe /safe
and press enter. Note, there is a space between outlook.exe and the /.

  • Is it possible to link existing Sharepoint 2010 lists to SQL server databases?

I created a SQL server database and added a table to it. Then I used Sharepoint Designer 2010 to create an external
Content Type using this table. Now I can alter the according Sharepoint list which then again performs CRUD operations on the said database table.
Now I want to do the same with a existing list which already contains data. In other words, I want to synchronize already filled lists to a table in my
SQL Server database. As I am new to Sharepoint this is the only solution I can think of.
I would create a table in my database which contains the very same columns as my already existing Sharepoint list does. Then I would proceed as described above. Namely I would use
Sharepoint Designer to create an External Content Type. This would generate a new list which would be connected to my database table. Now I would copy the complete data from the
original list to the newly created and synchronized list. This way the data should also be synchronized with the database table now. Now I would simply delete the
    old list.
I somehow have the feeling this is not a clean solution for my task. Is there any easier or cleaner way to do this? Is this even possible?

It's clean enough, although if I remember correctly you can't bulk upload the data to an external list. If bulk upload isn't available, writing a little script that syncs the data is probably the easiest way to do it, and then delete the old list.

  • Outlook 2013 window missing Last Modified By information for Sharepoint 2010 calendar appointment

We have been running Sharepoint 2010 for about a year now, along with Office 2010. We have recently begun testing the upgrade to Office 2013. What we've found is that when in Outlook 2013 viewing a synced Sharepoint 2010 calendar appointment, you no longer
see the Last Modified By information at the bottom right-hand corner of the window. If you try viewing a shared Exchange calendar's appointment that is not on Sharepoint, you do see this information.
Can anyone else confirm this, and suggest whether anything can be done to restore the functionality?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you can’t see the “Last modified by” information at the bottom right-hand corner of the window when you view a synced SharePoint 2010 calendar appointment in Outlook 2013.
In my environment, I create a calendar event in Outlook 2013, and the result is that I can’t see the “Last modified by” information at the bottom right-hand corner of the event window when I click on this event.
It’s by design that it will not show the “Last modified by” information at the bottom right-hand corner of the event window when we click on this event in Outlook 2013.
As a workaround, I recommend that you can follow the steps as below to change the current view to list view and show the information.
      1.  Open your calendar in Outlook 2013, go to “View“ tab, click on “Change View”, select the “Manage Views”.
      2.  Select the “List” view, click on the “Modify”, click on the “Columns”, select available columns from: All Mail fields, select the “Changed by” to add and move it up.
      3.  Go back to the “Change view”, select the “List” view and it will show all the calendar events with the “Changed by” information in a list.
And, if you want to set other settings of the current “List” view, you can click on the “View Settings” to modify it.

  • Issue with Copy of events from Outlook Calendar to SharePoint 2010 calendar(mapped in outlook)

There is a issue while copying events in Outlook mapped SharePoint 2010 Calendar.
This issue only seems to happen when user copies an event from his Outlook calendar to the SharePoint 2010 calendar.
He is able to create a new event in the SharePoint calendar from Outlook.
He tried below steps, but still no success
    1.
    Open your Outlook calendar.
    2. Open the event you want to copy.
    3. From the File menu, select Info.
    4. Click the Move to Folder button.
    5. In the Copy Items To dialog box, scroll down to the SharePoint Lists item and select the SharePoint calendar to which you want to copy the event.
    6. Click the OK button.
    7. Click the Yes button when prompted to continue.
Please let me know if there is any possible solution for it.

    Hi,
I have done a test as your steps. I am able to copy an event from my Outlook calendar to the SharePoint 2010 calendar.
    1. I suggest you test in another compute, perhaps your Outlook results to that issue.
    2. Please create a new site collection, then test again, compare the result.
    3. Maybe it will take some time before the copied event displays in the SharePoint 2010 calendar. So, wait a minute, compare the result.

  • Shared calendar problems on Sun Outlook Sync

    Hi All,
I'm having a few problems with Sun Outook sync ver 7.2.402.1
In Outlook 2003, clicking the calendar icon at the bottom of the left pane, displays the calendar view. Within that calendar view, clicking Open a Shared Calendar displays a dialog that allows the user to enter the user name of a shared calendar. When the user name of a known shared calendar is entered, the error Unable to display the folder. Your profile is not configured to support this operation for this user. is displayed. This occurs also with contacts and tasks.
I am running Windows XP sp2 (fully patched)
    Outlook 2003 sp2 (fully patched)

    Many thanks in advance !

    Hi,
Sounds like you are hitting this issue (from the comm-suite-5 connector release notes - bug# 6292026 mentioned is still not fixed unfortunately - http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-4432/6n6j7s831?l=en&a=view):
    <snip>
Opening a shared calendar link does not hook into subscription (Outlook 2003).
Workaround: To view a shared calendar, select the shared calendar folder in the folders list.

This is supposedly a Outlook 2003 only issue although I haven't confirmed this.

  • Can I create a shared calendar on iCal from the New iPad?

My company just gave out iPads for use to all field employees. My coworkers and I currently have an Outlook shared calendar that we utilize for scheduling our work. We can not access the shared calendars on our iPads, therefore I would like to create a shared calendar in iCal that we can all access for sharing our schedule as we were doing on Outlook. Is this possible?
NOTE: The idea is that I would like to use the iPad as the sole resource, instead of carrying our laptops around just to access the shared outlook calendar/schedule. The laptops are outdated junk that requires roughly 20 mins of time just to power up, connect and sign in to our servers...very inefficient.
    Thank you!

I have a bluetooth 2 keyboard from Brookstone, will it work with the iPad?
