Outlook sync after Eastern Standard Time Change-All events are 1 hour late

After sync'ing with outlook this past weekend, all my iphone calendar events are 1 hour late. the Eastern Standard Time change must have affected this. The time on my phone and my laptop are the same however. Anyone experienced the same issue?

This year, the government has canceled the daylight saving time , that's why happening this problem to me so I changed the time zone in iPhone from Cairo,Egypt (GMT+2 with daylight saving) to Harare,Zimbabwe (GMT+2 without daylight saving , no change in time from summer & winter) & now working good, no change in time after sync. , But it's very stupid thing from apple that they didn't add an option in time setting to enable or disable the daylight saving time like any other mobile.

Symptom
Scheduled reports that are supposed to run once a day, run multiple times.
Duplicate instances are being created.
Environment
BusinessObjects Enterprise XIR2 SP5
BusinessObjects Enterprise XIR2 SP5 + FP5.x
Reproducing the Issue
A report is scheduled to be run on a daily basis - this is a Recurring schedule.
Normally the report runs once a day, at a particular time.
After Daylight Savings Time change, the report runs at the specified time, but immediately after the successful instance, another instance is spawned.
Many more instances spawn after each instance completes.
Cause
This is a known issue: ADAPT01318487. This issue is because of DST and how our code handles this change.
Resolution
There is currently no known fix for this issue. There is however a script that can quickly resolve the problem.
The issue it seems is related to Daily recurring schedules.
What this script will do:
it will run a query to display all your DAILY Recurring jobs
you will have the option to choose your jobs and reschedule them by 1 hour
you will then highlight the same job and change them back by 1 hour
by modifying the schedule times, you are modifying the schedule itself and this will keep the issue of duplicate instances from occurring.
Exact Steps to Complete:
Stop the Job Servers.
Double click on the .hta file.
Change the System Name to that of your CMS name.
Add the Administrator's password.
Click Logon.
Click List All Recurring Instances.
Select All.
Make note of what it says in: Schedule Selected Recurring Instances: Should be 1 hr earlier.
Click Reschedule Selected Recurring Instances.
Choose All instances again and change Schedule Selected Recurring Instances to 1 hour Later.
Click Reschedule Selected Recurring Instances.
Now start your Job Servers.
The issue should not occur again.

- The multiple spawned instances issue ONLY affects XI3 SP3+ only. For XI3 SP1 and SP2 all Fix Pack levels this is not an issue as it was introduced as a problem in SP3.
- 1568239 notes the Java version and can apply to all O/S environments and is updated to reflect that.
If you are located in Europe you can also apply the patches in advance of the DST change to avoid the problem. If you are in Americas at this point utilizing the clean up scripts for this year is the approach needed to clean up the spawned instances and reschedule the existing schedules.

Can I switch calendars (Ex. "night shift" to "day shift" cal) with a repeating event, but ONLY for that one event?? It asks "for all events or only this event" if i change the time. But it changes ALL events when i try and switch calendars. Any help??

I have 2 calendars set up for my work schedule, a "night shift" and "day shift" calendar. I've set up repeating events fro Fri/Sat/Sun 3-11pm "night shifts" and Mon/Tues 7am-3pm "day shifts". But lets say for example that I swap shifts and instead of working nights on Saturday like I normally would, I am now working days. I want to change that in my calendar. When I go to change the event, if i change the TIME it asks if i want to change all event or ONLY this event. no problem....just this single event. but when i go to change the event from the "night shift" calendar to the "day shift" calendar, it changes ALL the repeating events, and not just that one single event. can anyone help with this??? am i doing something wrong? is there a way to do this or not with the new iCal program??? i used to do this and never had any problems. You need to follow iPhoto terms since we only know what you tell us
what are you calling folders - in iPhoto folders can not hold photos - albums hold photos and folders hold albums or other folders
The basic default view of photo is by event (iPhoto '08 and later)

Does Roaming data syncs for the first time when app data are in download and installation process?

I will store user Id in "HighPriority" Roaming data. When user will install app in another computer (with the same Microsoft Account), app will get user Id from Roaming data. Then I can implement all data sync over my cloud service.
There are 2 scenarios:
1. User downloads and installs app in another computer, but roaming data syncs/downloads for the first time only after several minutes -
It's bad for my app :(
2. User downloads and installs app in another computer and roaming data syncs/downloads at the same time (then I can get user Id immediately)
- Its great for my app :)
Which scenario is real in practice?

But anyway:
The drive is Makintosh HD from my Macbook and it is shown in the event mediathek and in the projects. Since I`ve recognized this problem I installed FCPX again and consequently the event and project directory created by FCPX is where it should be and it shows all the test events including it`s files.
So what happens? Opening FCPX you see only one event and that a new empty event. All previous events are not shown there even if you can see them in the finder. So if you import again the clips they are in this new event library. After closing correctly FCPX and reopening there again is nothing than an new and empty event. What it does is that it recognized that i.e. there are events with previous numbers and so it creates an new one with the next available counting number.
If you want to open one event from the finder it by clicking to the file it opens FCPX but it says it cannot open the clicked file.

thanks. yes i am aware of the VoiceOver feature but it is NOT the solution to my problem. as you said, it is a solution to a different set of issues. i want the text to speech ability because i there are books i need to read but do not have the time to sit down and read them and have become used to listening to them read to me either by a professional human reader or with the text to speech software on the Kindle.
I think Apple makes the best audio devices but i am really disappointed in this inexplainable shortcoming. if apple can give us siri they ought to be able to design a nice little button that i can push to turn on text to speech while i am in a document, book, magazine or webpage. clearly it is possible as apple has added the "reader" button in safari to have web pages dropped into the reader format.

Thanks for the question, and what a great question it is!
With time zone support on, you can edit an individual event and change the time zone for that event. This list will include options for your default time zones, UTC, and "floating" - the latter of which is what you are looking for. Floating changes the event to occur at the specified time, local time.

Ical invites seen off by 1 hour in Outlook for IST (India Standard Time)

I have this strange problem since I migrated to MAC recently and started using iCal. Earlier I was using Thunderbird with Lightning. I am in the India time zone (IST). Whenever I create an appointment using iCal and send invites (using MAC Mail) to meeting participants, the Outlook users among the recipients see the meeting at a time that is an hour ahead of the scheduled time. Lightning users get the invite correctly. Both my Mac and the recipients are using IST timezone.
Please note that India does not use daylight saving. I dug into the problem a bit and I have a speculation about what is going wrong.
India used daylight saving briefly in 1942. The VTIMEZONE specification generated in the ics by iCal seems to specify that daylight savings is used since May 15, 1942, and standard time is used since Sep 1, 1942. My speculation is that Outlook interprets this as saying that daylight saving is in force today (July 2013), probably just ignoring the year specification. Other calendar applications possibly are unaware of this bit of world war II history.
Any way that I can get iCal to not include the timezone information or to modify its 1942 memory? Currently, I am creating all appointments using UTC but that's obviously not pleasant.

Hi, any thoughts here? I tried replacing the system timezone file for IST with a vanilla +0530 GMT offset one (in /var/share/zoneinfo) but that didn't work (even after a reboot). Does Mail (and other such applications) not use the system timezone definition files?

Hiya Katrina! I might have accidentally made some progress on this one yesterday.
Every time I've seen it reported and I've tried to do some work on it, it has only affected one user account on the PC.
So ... it might be related to a damaged icon cache for the affected user account. (There's one of those for each different user account on the PC. This is what I accidentally learned yesterday while trying to research a fix for a slightly different problem.)
If that's what is going on, rebuilding the icon cache might get folks past it:

... Trouble is that that's all educated(?) guesswork/speculation, and the procedure looks a bit hairy. It's the sort of thing where I'd definitely be setting a System Restore Point for the system prior to giving it a go.

Converting unix timestamp to date after Daylight Saving Time change

in one of the products we use the internal scheduler stores dates (and times) in an Unix-like format, that is seconds since 1st of January 1970. We have used this SQL to extract the actual date:
TO_CHAR(t.next_fire_time/(24*60*60*1000) +to_date('19700101020000','yyyymmddhh24miss'),'yyyymmddhh24miss')
Everything worked fine until the time has changed this weekend from UTC+2 to UTC+1 (we are located in Eastern Europe). Since then the query above returns one hour later than it should.
I.e. timestamp *1320067800000* is returned as *20111031153000* even thought correct is (and the actual time the event was scheduled) *31-OCT-11 02.30.16.000000 PM*
I found queries like this on different forums and no one seems to worry much about the daylight savings. Is this a configuration issue in the DB or is it a bug in our code?
I tried selecting the SESSIONTIMEZONE and DBTIMEZONE and both were +1.
Any help appreciated.

I have managed to sync my iPhone 4 to my btyahoo calendar with caldav. All entries appear on the phone calendar on the correct date, but the time given is always 5 hours later than the (correct) time on the computer. How can I rectify this?

Why do the times for each event or appointment appear on the phone calendar exactly 5 hours later than the correct times entered into the Yahoo calendar on my P.C? Is there a way of rectifying this, either on the Yahoo calendar site, or on the iPhone?

IPhone time changes itself to 1 hour fast

Hi, I have had an 8GB iPhone for about 3 days. Everything had been ok except for the time and camera...so I took it to the store today and the Genius was unsure about the time problem but replaced my phone due to the camera issue hoping the time issue would also be resolved...(camera issue = photos have red center with green halo)
So I got home with the new phone and synced it. It was initially fine but I hooked it back up with the computer to add some pictures and when i did it immediatly added 1 hour to the time. Now I am unsure what to do as the first phone also did it for the Genius at the store (so we are pretty sure it is not just my computer since theirs did it too).
I now have all of the automatic time features turned off so that the time has to be set manually and it is still changing the time itself and adding 1 hour to the time.
I have all of the most current software updates (iTunes & iPhone)...since my phone is so new, I have not used the phone without the most current update.
Is anyone else having this problem and if so have you been able to resolve it and how? I would just hate to have to go back to the store again if it is something I can resolve myself...

is the time correct on the computer? Is the time zone correct?

ICloud's calendar has shifted the times of all events by 16 hr

I have just moved to iCloud. Mail and notes seem to be working fine, but the iCloud calendar is off by 16 hours. There does not appear to be any way to set this thing straight. The preferences provide no time zone option, but they instruct the user to tap the iCloud icon in the toolbar. That's not helpful. How do I tell iCloud calendar what continent I am on?

Well, I finally figured it out myself. It is not very intuitive. By double-clicking on the account name in the upper right of the main iCloud window (in one's browser), one can change the time zone. However, by itself that will not cause anything to appear differently. Nor will telling iCloud to refresh the calendar. It is necessary to logout of iCloud and then log back in. That sets all events in the right time zone.
