Outlook sync errors

Lately I have been getting this in Outlook on my home computer. I d not seem to have this same problem in the office accessing the same remote Exchange server. I do not see any resources about this on line.

If you were getting repeated errors on the same folder, for example, then it would be telling you something like maybe you have some sort of corruption.  When it's intermittent, then it's probably what I said it is.

  • Outlook Sync Error SOLVED - Multi-day repeating appointment cannot be converted for use on the Handheld...

*UPDATE 1/23/2009 07:08 AM* This is a partial fix. I no longer think the Recurrence Range is the culprit. It seems the Time Zones features between Outlook & Palm are not cooperating. This explains why my 12 am events are syncing as 6 pm the day before; I live in GMT-6:00 so it's moving my events ahead by 6 hours. Another event I set for 1 pm in Outlook was changed to 7 am on my Treo. I am going to start over and recreate each event, this time setting the Time Zones, which I hadn't done before. I tested it out and it worked with a single event... let's see how long it lasts. I've also found that using 'No Time' on my Treo is not compatible with Outlook. It's better to set a time with 0 minutes duration.
*UPDATE 1/23/2009 04:11 AM* This is a partial fix. My monthly and yearly problematic recurring events are now showing up at 6 pm the day before on my Treo, though my Outlook calendar is fine. I think this has to do with the Recurrence Range Start/End in Outlook, which is set automatically. If only there were a way to change this...
After a WHOLE LOTTA trial-and-error (like 3 days worth), I think I finally solved my OLERR:14-001 issue!
Problem: Syncing Palm Treo 755p calendar with Outlook 2007
    Error Message (simplified):
HotSync session completed with messages on [date] [time]
HotSync session started on [date] [time], and completed in [0] seconds
Outlook Calendar synchronization completed with messages
    Duration: [0] seconds
    Outlook Calendar
The multi-day repeating appointment titled [event] beginning [date] [time] cannot be converted for use on the Handheld. Please divide the appointment up into single-days and re-synchronize.
     OLERR:14-0001
    - Desktop overwrite HH Sync
Note: You will likely have several of these ‘Multi-day’ instances in your hotsync log (I had 58). You may want to change Calendar in hotsync to "Desktop overwrites Handheld" after you get this error, to avoid erasing events while you are fixing this issue. Otherwise, you may have to restore them from a backup copy (if you have one) and start over. You can switch back once you’re through.
Solution: First, I tried this Palm KB Article: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/NUA/launchKB.asp?c=31167. After this didn’t work for me… I did trial-and-error. I believe the problem is that each recurring event, which you set up as ‘All-day’, must be changed to have a duration of 0 minutes from within Outlook. I was able to change some events directly, but I found that some of the records had corrupted, and would just revert. My fool-proof solution was to recreate EVERY problematic event (yes, one-by-one) using the following steps:
    Open Outlook
Go to your default calendar, where your events are synced
In the top menu choose ‘View’ > ‘Current View’ > ‘Recurring Appointments’
    Open a ‘New Appointment’
Enter subject and other options, such as Categorize, Importance, Time Zones, or Reminder
Make sure starting and ending date & time are the EXACT same
Select ‘Recurrence’ & choose your pattern
I did not choose ‘No end date’ (hence the Palm article), but rather ‘End by:’ and typed in 2031, then pressed tab to auto-generate a suitable end date. I chose 2031 because that is last year my Treo’s calendar goes to. Click OK
Repeat for every event in your error log, until you get a clean "Desktop overwrites Handheld" hotsync (Outlook should be closed when you sync)
Switch Calendar in hotsync back to "Synchronize"
Even though I still get the message OLERR14:001, my syncs are successful. Now I will give my Treo time to see if the issue returns later. Until then, happy Outlook syncing and good luck!

  • Outlook Sync Error Message

I'm getting the following error message from iTunes syncserver when trying to sync up my Outlook calendars.

Some of my calendar entries seem to be getting sync'd but the VAST majority of calendar entries are missing. My environment is as follows...
    Windows XP Pro - SP3
    iTunes - 9.1.1.12
    iPod OS (32 Gig 3rd Gen) - 3.1.2
    Outlook 2003 - SP3
I've tried most of the suggestions found here in this forum related to Outlook sync problems but nothing seems to make any difference...
    Any suggestions?
    Cliff

O.K. Now a follow up....I just upgraded to iTunes 9.2.x and what seems to be syncing is reoccurring calendar entries only. I have tried turning off the calendar sync..which asks me if I want to remove all calendar entries previously synched, to which I say yes. My calendar entries go away. I then turned the synching of calendars back on and the only entries that I see on the iPod are reoccurring calendar entries. NONE of the single calendar entries are showing up. The error message is also no longer appearing in the synch log....very strange.

  • ICloud - Outlook sync error

Keep getting sync error "(0x800CCC0E) - ...Outlook cannot connect to server..": any clues as to the problem?

I have the same problem, but no error message.  I cannot add anything to my iphone and get it to the PC.  If I add in outlook on the PC, it goes to the iphone and macair.
I also have duplicate contacts on my iphone, no where else.  If I delete one it deletes all through Icloud including my pc.  If I change something on the PC it only changes one of the contacts on the iphone.  Go figure.

  • Microsoft Outlook sync error message

Here's the error code: 08004fd28. The sync is set to only sync the calendars. Blackberry Desktop Manager queries inconsistencies between the calendars, then shows the error message just noted. Can anyone help?

    Hi,
What Desktop Manager are you using? You can try to uninstall and reinstall DTM. Make sure to install the latest Device software as well. You can download these through the BlackBerry website.
So it also gives out this error during the calendar sync? It is possible that there is a corrupt calendar entry on Outlook. What you can do is to do an advance logging. The process is a bit complicated cause you need to edit some intellisync settings to extract the log files. By extracting the log files you will be able to pinpoint the corrupt calendar entry data.
For this it's best for you to contact you carrier and ask for support.
    Thanks.

  • Outlook Sync Error with Recurring Meetings on SharePoint Calendar

We have a SharePoint (Foundation 2010) calendar that users also connect to Outlook (2010/2013). We are experiencing a problem with emailing recurring meeting requests to the SharePoint calendar; the item is received and populated properly on the SP calendar
but Outlook fails to sync the item.
The Outlook client then displays a send/receive error: [ Task 'SharePoint' reported error (0x80004005) : 'Failed to copy one or more items. For details, see the log file.'
] The error in the log file reads: "Error mapping item #140"
This issue only occurs when recurring meeting requests are emailed to the SP calendar list. Recurring meetings sync properly with Outlook when the meeting is created directly on the SP site and when created directly on the calendar view within Outlook.
I will appreciate any insight to this matter.
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi,
This issue may occur if Outlook cannot connect to the Sharepoint List so that
Outlook changes cannot sync to the Sharepoint. Please try the following steps and check if it helps:
    1. This error message could be caused that the PC with the Outlook installation couldn´t access the CRL from the HTTPS certificated used on the SharePoint server. To check that open the sharepoint Web site, and check the SSL certificate. There is an entry
for the CRL. Now check from the affected PC if the CRL could be accessed.
    2. Check AAM configuration and we can try to browse the URL
http://intranet ; then we can recreate the connection to Sharepoint in Outlook, try to sync it and then check the result
See this thread with similar problem:

  • Outlook sync error

I have outlook 2002 on my laptop and computer. When I bought the iphone I activated it and synced outlook on my laptop since I was out of town and all was well but I actually sync on my home pc. So, I installed itunes 7.3 on my pc and when it opened outlook automatically I get the following error:
Outlook experienced a serious error the last time the add-in 'outlook itunes sync addin' was opened. Would you like to disable this add-in? To reenable this add-in, click about microsoft outlook on the help menu, and then click disabled items.
If I click no to not disable the plug in outlook restarts and gets the same error over and over. If I click yes it disables the plug in but I cannot sync with outlook then. I've tried reinstalling itunes, restarting and repairing office but nothing worked.
    Any advice?

The sync add-in does not work. Apple needs to patch this. See this thread:

  • Outlook Sync Error Code 0x80040fb3

I suddenly am having trouble syncing my contacts on my Storm.  Calendar syncs fine, but I get that error message for my contacts.  I've looked through the Knowledge Base and thus looked at the pttrace log, but I can't tell what contact is causing the issue.  HELP!  How do I determine by reading this log (or something different) which contact(s) is the issue?

Thank you for your response. I figured it had something like that but have been unable to identify the contact and have given up. Since the BB is corporate issue I wiped it clean once again and now synch it with GroupWise and have purchased an iPhone for personal use to synch with my Outlook contacts. Not as efficient some would say but a lot less hassles and the iPhone works so much easier and so far has been hassle free. We'll see if it continues to be. Again, thank you!

  • Outlook sync error/Uninstall Error.

I cannot sync with Outlook. I tried uninstall and reinstall, but get an error stating that I don't have access to data1.cab. I looked for it and don't have it. I am frustrated, because I have been able to sync before.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
If your system is giving you the error you indicate, that would be a system level issue rather than an application level issue. Perhaps some more details might help others to help you...
    1) Your PC OS and version
    2) Your DTM version
    3) Your Outlook version
Make sure that your account on that PC has admin level access. If you are running Vista or Win7, be sure to use "Run As Administrator" for everything you attempt.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Outlook sync error: invalid ENTRYID was passed in

Okay, I've looked through the forums for the last hour and can't find an answer:
When I got my iPhone and did my first sync all of my outlook contacts were moved to my iPhone just fine-this was 2 days ago. Today I wanted to sent an email to multiple contacts I brought up my address book. All the contacts that WERE there are not. It seems as though the contacts from my phone were moved to outlook so I lost some email addresses in the contact lists, but they are on my phone. When I double click on the contact to edit it I get this message: "The properties dialog ox cannot be displayed. An invalid ENTRYID was passed in." I tried going around this error and created a new contact with my name, number and email address. I saved it and tried to open the new contact I just made. It opened fine. I tried to open a contact I did not edit and I got the same error message again.
I did a sync with the phone again and the new contact I test created was no longer there. It is in my iPhone however. I tried to create a new contact again and now the new contact doesn't show up in my address book but they show up in my phone again.
So I can send info to the phone via my outlook 2007 addressbook but cannot send updated info from my iPhone into outlook.
I cannot use my address book to email a contact in outlook because of the above error.
Here are some the facts on my system:
I am running Vista on an HP notebook
    I'm using Outlook 2007
When I go into the Add in's section I only one add in from iTunes, "iTunes Outlook Addin"
Newly created contacts created in Outlook do not appear there, but show up on my phone when I sync it
Edits I create on my phone do not map into Outlook contacts.
Does anyone know how to fix this? The posts I read seem to handle not being able to sync contacts at all...and I keep reading about two addin's in Outlook and I only have one. Could this possilbly be the issue?
I did not do any resets on the phone yet because I don't want to lose the contact info in my phone since I don't have them anywhere else except Outlook, so I wanted to ask you guys first.
Thank you for your help in advance!

    Chocomonsters,
Have you tried the steps in article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692 to further isolate the issue, in particular testing in a new user? If the issue occurs in the new user as well, it could be damaged data on the iPhone. You might want to try syncing your known-good contacts to your iPhone opting to "Replace Data", and if that doesn't correct the issue, try a restore of the iPhone setting it up as a new phone.
To sync replacing data, simply check Contacts under the "Advanced" portion of the Info tab.
More information on restore process: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Hope this helps,
    Raleigh

This occurs if Naomi shares her Calendar with me, without granting me read "Full Details", if she changes the permissions and allows me to read Full Details, the sync error goes away.
It's repeatable, i have tested it with a few users sharing calendars with each other, and changing permissions.
The peculiar thing is that Naomi is in My Team, so her calendar is listed under Team Calendar,  I get no sync errors, it's only when I add Naomi's Calendar as a Shared Calendar and don't have read Full Access permission that the sync errors appear.
User's don't necessarily want to give Full Access to their Calendars, so that's not really a viable work around for us, this smells very much like a bug with outlook, is anyone else seeing this?

  • IPhone Calendar; Outlook 2007 Sync Error

I have an iPhone 5 with the 7.1.2 and the newest version of iTunes as well as the newest version of iCloud Control Panel.
Once I create a meeting|appt on my Outlook via computer (Win 7) it syncs to the iPhone calendar. (Good thing)
But if I were to change the day, time, or location from outlook .. it doesn't take effect on the iPhone and no point and time. (Bad thing)
    Thoughts?
    -Thanks in advanced!

    Hi,
For better assisting you on this matter, could you help me with information below:
What was the sync error was?
Is your software up to date, both Windows/Office/iOS?
What is your Outlook account type? IMAP, Exchange or POP3?
Are you using Cache mode or Online mode for you Outlook? When using an OST file, only information stored locally, or cached on your computer, will be available to sync.
Meanwhile, we can try to reset Sync history to see if the issue can be solved:
Back up your data, refer to
    this article for Backup details
    Open iTunes.
From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
    Click the Devices tab.
Click the Reset Sync History button.
If the issue continues and you know all of the data is on the computer:
Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" select Contacts or Calendars.
    Click Apply.
If the issue continues and you know all the data is on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
Remove all of the contact and calendar information from Outlook.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" make sure Contacts and Calendars are not selected.
    Click Apply.

  • Outlook client sync error

My iPhone was in sync with Outlook 2003, finally, found the post on the add-ins. After that I had no problems. I upgraded to Outlook 2007 recently. Yesterday I connected my iPhone, it upgraded to the itunes as well as a new iphone file???? I don't remember the file. I now receive "Outlook sync client" error. I looked at the add in page and under "Active Application Add-In" I have the "iTunes Outlook add-in" but I am missing the _"outlook iTunes Sync_ add-in". I have tried uninstalling itunes. It didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    challenger70,
The latest versions of iTunes do not use the "Outlook iTunes Sync add-in" anymore, and instead use the Outlook Sync Client. So you are not missing anything.

  • ICloud Outlook 2013 sync errors

    I'm using Win7 64-bit, Office 2013.
Group policy was updated on the domain, it redirected My Documents from the local c:\ to the server (2008 R2 domain controller), for easy backup.
Most Outlook files are stored in My Documents\Outlook Files, which are now on the server.
Outlook stopped receiving e-mail to the local .PST.  The repair was to recreate the Outlook Profile.
    After recreation, iCloud stopped working.
Uninstalling/reinstalling iCloud Control Panel has not worked.

I think it is a shame for Apple, because they are talking about business users. And considering the replacement design for ios 7, problems with sync some apps (iBooks for example), non-availability large-sized iPhone, it is all added more reasons to try go to Android or Windows Phone(
And there is no russian Siri, what a shame. However you are not speaking to Apple here, if you feel you need to feedback Apple it is done here.

  • Outlook sync issue--error  ModName:  applesyncmapiinterface.dll

just in the past week, I have been getting this error message (applesyncmapiinterface.dll) when syncing my iphone to my XP Pro PC. I just upgraded the new OS4 in I-tunes, and my sync still provides this error message. Any solutions?

The reason why the sync client error appears is because itunes will not sync a bad file from outlook (either a contact or a calendar entry) and so gives up on the operaton.
There is hope however! The only real way of getting this to work is to locate and delete/ replace the bad data.
There is no really easy way of scanning outlook for the bad data so this is the method that I use:
    1. first try and sync phone/ipod with itunes - watch the top bar in itunes and see whether the "outlook sync client not working" appears during the attempt to sync contact or calendar - then you know whether the bad data is in your contacts folder or your calendar.
    2. make a backup of yur contacts or calendar - file/ export to pst.
    3. go to tools/find/advaced find and put nothing in the search box but press enter. The resultant search will be all of your contacts/ calendar entries.
    4. now the clever bit: select all and delete - this will delete all of your entires (remember you have made a backup) but any corrupt files will not be deleted in this operation: thus you have identified the bad files (make a note of this file)
5 import your contacts/ calendar back from your backup - file/import pst.
    6. Now simply copy down (with a pen and paper!) the information contained in the bad file - they normally read okay, delete the file and re-enter manualy.
    6. hey presto.
