Outlook sync problem : calendar is not complete...

Hi all,
i have connected and synchronized my Ipod Touch with Outlook2003 SP3, under XP PRO, Itunes version 7.4. Contacts are ok, but my appointments on calendar are not all synchronized.
For example, today i have 4 meetings on Outloo, only one is present on the touch. The 2 meetings for tomorrow are all present...
I have tried to repair my pst file, but the result is the same.
Can anyone help me ?
Thank you

Finally, It WORKS !!!
I followed instructions from http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306666
I have removed an application (Genesys Meeting Center) that causes problems with syncing (it works for my Pocket PC but not for Itouch...). I have never seen until yesterday that new default class value for my meetings was "IPM.MeetingCenter"...
I have deleted each appointment then created same again to obtain a class "IPM.Appointment". I change also my PST file in Outlook properties (changing default value "when publicating" to IPM.Appointment).
And now it works. I can't use Genesys but i can synchronize ;-)))
Thank you for your support.

  • New Outlook sync problem after update!!!

I had the 'original' Outlook sync problem, which went away after the iTunes update to 7.3.1, but now, after the iPhone update last night, I have an entirely NEW Outlook sync problem!!
When I sync the iPhone, right when it gets to the 'syncing contacts' part (that you see in the top box/window in iTunes) I get an error message that I haven't seen before. It says "AppleMobileDeviceHelper has encountered a problem and needs to close..." and it gives me the option to send an error report. I dismiss the error box, and the sync process hangs, and iTunes becomes unresponsive.
If I open Outlook, the two Apple sync oblects are still enabled, and get no error message. If I re-open iTunes and try to sync again, it only syncs iTunes content, and never even tries to sync my contacts or calendar.
Anyone having anything similar since last night? The only thing different is the iPhone firmware update.

I just cancelled the sync by using the slider. I didn't realize I could do that. The phone seems fine. I may try it again and see what happens.

  • Local Sync of Calendar etc not working on Mavericks

I upgraded to Mavericks back when it was first released, but after discovering the unpleasant surprise that Apple secretly disabled local syncing of Calendar/Reminders/Notes, I had to wipe my MBP and reinstall the old OS from a backup. (My company prohibits cloud-based products of any kind.)
Recently an Apple employee told me that Apple had restored local sync in the newest version of Mavericks, so I upgraded again (this time to 10.9.4). Though it appears the local sync option has been restored, it's not actually working.
Mavericks recognizes all my Calendar data that existed on the MBP, but when I connect my iPhone to my MBP and sync it, no new Calendar events sync. (I created a new event on the MBP and a new event on the iPhone. Neither event synced with the other device.)
Oddly, the Reminders app on the MBP is showing some very old Reminder lists -- none of which are currently on my iPhone. And all of the Notes that were previously in Mail came over to the Notes app on the MBP, but when I created a new Note on the MBP and a new Note on the iPhone, neither Note synced with the other device.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Trashing my Calendar prefs and restarting. The MBP recreated all the Calendar events but still won't sync new ones. (Plus — same problems with Notes and Reminders)
There's a System Pref that wasn't on my previous OS called Internet Accounts. I've played around with the checkboxes on various email accounts I have, but that hasn't gotten any new Calendar events (or anything else) to sync locally.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to amend my previous post, but I got an error message saying I'm "not allowed" to edit it.
I solved the Calendar sync issue — for some reason iTunes had turned off all the Sync options. That's a weird default for Mavericks. Anyhow, turning them back on got Calendar events to sync.
But still no syncing on Reminders or Notes.

  • Outlook Sync - Multiple Calendar Problem

(I am not sure whether this belongs in this Forum or would be more appropriately directed to my Device (Curve 8900) forum or Desktop Software.  Please advise or re-direct if that is the case.)
I am having a sync issue with Outlook, and it revolves around the issue of having multiple calendars on the Device, each of which is associated with an e-mail address.  I understand this has been a relatively common question; however, although I admittedly may be looking in the wrong place, I have yet to come across a comprehensive solution.
I understand how to switch the "default" e-mail associated with scheduling items on the calendar, and I believe I'm correct in thinking that this is what syncs with Outlook.  I've noticed that when I try switching the default, Outlook wants to delete all other appointments which are NOT associated with that device calendar.
So I guess my specific questions are:
    1) Is there a way to have Outlook sync with ALL calendars on the device, i.e. not just the default?  It's easy enough to make all appointments from here on out with a single account & have that be the one that syncs; however, it doesn't seem possible to do that without having Outlook want to delete all other appointments.
    2) Is there a way to change the associated email/calendar for events on the Device?  When I open an event, I can see which email/calendar it is but I don't know how to *change* it -- I only seem to have a choice when scheduling new events.
If either of these was an option, I think that would solve my problem -- I could either go through the device & convert everything to the default email/calendar & everything would be there upon sync, OR Outlook would just pick up everything from all calendars when I sync.
I don't understand why it's so complicated to have everything in one place!
Thanks in advance to those willing to share their wisdom & advice in this matter.

  • ITunes8.2 might not sync contacts, calendar and notes with Outlook 2007

My ipod touch has been synching on a Windows XP machine with Outlook 2003 and iTunes 8.2 nicely for a few weeks. Now I need to move to a different computer.
That one had Outlook 2000 this morning. The sync that was intended to move the contacts and calendar information from the ipod touch to this machine failed.
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2051 I learned that I can't use Outlook 2000.
So I actually bought Outlook 2007 and used that.
    Bummer - no luck!
After trying out a few things:
    http://www.zolved.com/synapse/viewcontent/30722/Microsoft_Outlook_Contacts_and_Calendars_are_not_Syncingwit
    did this - doesn't help
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1347
    empty file?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1324
    Unicode!
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692
tried out all four tipps ... no change
    http://nickvt.blogspot.com/2009/01/iphone-outlook-calendar-and.html
    I did a few experiments.
On another PC syncing works another ipod and the same software Outlook 2007 + ITunes 8.2
On another PC syncing works with my ipod and the same software Outlook 2007 + iTunes 8.2
On my PC using another user's windows account syncing does not work with my iPod and the same software Outlook 2.7 and iTunes 8.2
On my PC syncing does work with Windows Address book
On my PC accessing Outlook via COM via software does work with another application.
So again none of the tipps in
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692
    1) Reset Sync history
    2) Disable third party addins
    3) Attempt to sync content in a new Windows user
    4) Reinstall the itunes software
helped. The best I can get is a very long sync session that "feels" as
if the synching went on but in the end there is no result at all.
Copying the outlook.pst file from the machine where things worked and trying
to override the ipod's contact content also failed. It looks like there is
some kind of interfacing problem that does not openly lead to an error message
but still makes sure the whole synching procedure fails. Unfortunately I didn't find any clue on how to setup debugging or logging options to better catch what is going on.
At this point I'm out of options and hoping for help via this forum.

I've had this problem for 3 months! Here are things I've tried which didn't work (my Outlook 2003 calendar still won't sync with my iPhone so my iPhone essentially does not have a working calendar)...but they might work for you:
delete everything off the calendar on your iPhone & check the "override your calendar the next time you sync" button & sync
try setting up a new user on your computer and syncing to that (make sure you've unchecked that "override everything on the iPhone at next sync" button) to see if things will move from the iPhone to the computer

  • How to un-sync a calendar and NOT delete ANY events?  Please help!

    Hi,
I seem to be the only one with this problem. I search all over and can't find information for what I want to do, everyone wants to do the opposite.
So basically I had a job and an iphone. I used my calendar at work for personal events and so forth. I synced the calendar on my work's exchange server to my iphone. Then I lost my job. My password no longer works, so sync fails and it keeps asking for my password and draining my battery. I try to cancel sync, and the iphone threatens to delete all my events. I don't want to delete my events, i just don't want it to keep trying to connect to my old job. How can I keep all my calendar events and not get nagged every 10 seconds to enter a password?
I do not have outlook on my home computer either.
    Thanks!

OK, so i bit the bullet and canceled my sync to my calendar at my old work.
My old calendar events are now gone. All of them. The stuff added through my outlook at my old work is gone. The personal stuff added on my iPhone directly is gone. The stuff added on my phone after it stopped syncing with my old work is gone. My calendar is COMPLETELY EMPTY now.
Can someone explain this to me?

  • Exchange vs. Outlook Sync for Calendar/Contacts

I currently sync my iPhone with Outlook 2007 calendar and contacts, and (with the notable exception of the 9.1 fiasco) it has been great.
This week, they migrated us to an Exchange server. I'm still syncing via USB (everything stayed with the same name in Outlook, so iTunes was fine) but am considering switching to Exchange for contacts and calendar (I don't use the email address on the exchange server on my iPhone - long story).
What I was hoping for is to find someone who has more familiarity with Exchange on iPhone to answer a few questions.
    1. If I setup Exchange on the iPhone, that means contact/calendar changes made in Outlook (to the exchange account) automatically update on the iPhone, right? Can I control how often this update happens? Does it use heavy data amounts every time, or just the updates? (In other words, if I add a phone number to a contact, does it send my whole contact list, or just that contact?)
    2. Is there any harm in leaving iTunes configured to sync to Outlook? Logically, it's syncing the same data (like I said, the pointers are to the exchange items), so I can't see if there's a reason to remove it. But at the same time, I don't want to mess up my contacts/calendar by leaving it on.
Any help or advice anyone can offer would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think I can answer your first question (assuming you're on iOS 4.0.1 like me
When using Exchange ActiveSync on the iPhone, you can independently set which of the following you want to sync: Mail, Contacts, Calendars. This means you could choose to sync mail and calendars, but not contacts (or any other combination of 1, 2, or all 3 services).
I have all 3 set to sync, and I find that any change I make to my inbox, contacts, or calendar, in either Outlook 2007 or on the phone itself, is generally synced the other direction within 30 seconds (sometimes as fast as 5 or 10 seconds). While I haven't done a controlled test of the data transmitted for each sync, I would be very surprised if it sends anything other than the actual changes.
So far, my experience with ActiveSync on the iPhone (for all of 2 weeks) has been quite positive. I can only think of 2 problems:
    1. When a meeting reminder displays on the phone, it gives me all 3 buttons (Accept, Reject, or Maybe) even though I had already accepted the invitation when I first added the meeting to my calendar.
    2. When adding an event to the calendar on the iPhone, it always sets the status to "Busy", even if I marked it as Free. I have to edit the event and re-save to get the status corrected.
    Hope this helps.

  • I FIGURED OUT MY OUTLOOK SYNC PROBLEM.  TRY THIS.

I spent about 5 hours on the phone with 3 different apple tech specialists with no luck on how to get my iPhone to sync with outlook. My calendar and contacts would not come over to the phone. This morning I was trying to figure it out and I DID!
    In Outlook:
go to tools->options->other tab->advanced options->COM add-ins->then check the box "outlook itunes sync add-in". Please post comments to see if this helped.

I saw this in another thread but it's worth duplicate
threads. Anyone with sync problems needs to do this.
Yes but Outlook 2003 disables one of the add-ins which causes Outlook to crash when you load program. Then the add-in is disabled and you can't enable it just by selecting the box in tools>other>advanced>com add-ins because it won't happen. It just keeps unchecking itself.
Here's what to do: with outlook open go to "about Outlook" You'll see a button "disabled components" under that will be the offending iphone addin. RE-enable it. Then do the manouevre I mentioned in second sentence. Then sync iphone and all contacts, calendar etc will sync to phone. BUT the next time you start up Outlook it will tell you that the addin causes a serious error and will disable it. I guess we will have to enable it each time we want to sync for now -Microsoft had no idea (nor did Apple) after several hours on support lines. God only knows when and who will fix this. This seems to work for now however.

  • Unique iphone/Outlook sync problem ???

    Hello all,
I have followed posts for over a month now (since I got my phones) and have yet to see this specific problem. I even spoke with the 1-800 people but their insight was limited at best. So I decided to sign up and place this post. Any help would be appreciated. I too, like many others have had problems syncing my iphone with Outlook (2003) both ways. I use Outlook express for email/contacts (via WAB) these sync fine. I just have to open my email a/c (since both my wife and I have iphones and separate emails). Never get any error messages for Outlook calendar when I sync; in fact occassionally get the "you are about to change more than 5% of what is currently there." When I open Outlook though nothing comes up. Same thing with Outlook; if I place new appt then sync; it does not show up on iphone. I have read and tried every suggestion within these posts to no avail and pretty much had decided I would have to live with just using the calendar on iphone alone. Here is the kicker; my iphone crapped out a week ago; top third of touch screen would not work; called the 800# went through all their template troubleshooting; tried to resync everything again so I could load it on my loaner. Never could pull it up on Outlook though. Accepted the fact I lost my calendar; however when my loaner came to me when I placed my sim card in and synced it; much to my amazement the calendar popped up on my iphone. Still having same problem of new items entered either on iphone or Outlook not syncing either way. BTW have received a new phone now; just wondering if anyone has any insight to this problem and what I could possibly do to fix it.
Things I have already done (from posts read):
    Uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes
Have most recent software on iphone
    Added sp2 for Outlook
    Added sp3 for Office
    Inactivated my Norton's when syncing
Checked and made sure I do not have Windows Live loaded
    Confirmed PST file accepts unicode
Anyone that has any help for me; it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Nandan

I had the same problem when I first got the phone when they first came out and I spent a few hours on the phone with them. I had reoccuring events set up in my outlook that were scheduled with no end date. Apparently it caused some sort of sync problem. I had to go into the event that I scheduled to occur every third day with no end-date and I scheduled it to end around the year 2010. Anyways, I don't know if this will help but it worked for me.
    good luck!

  • More outlook sync problems

Has anyone figured out the sync problem with Outlook. After my 1st sync, like others, I had two calenders +(home and outlook calender+). I just synched again and now I have three (+home, outlook calender, and calender+). Data is not being transferred between iphone and outlook.

Once we get this figured out, I guess the next question will be how to merge all these iPhone 2.0 newly created calenders...

  • SUP sync problem: Category products not found on WSUS

    Hello,
Updates stopped working suddenly for clients, and the clients reported back with message: "Client check passed/Active".
I can't say much about it because I have to be honest, I didn't do much troubleshooting.
    I went straight to re-configuration of SUP/WSUS.
So I removed the SUP CM role, and WSUS and re-installed everything again.
I did this several times now and followed similar procedures, but slightly different.
    Basically:
    Remove SUP
    Remove WSUS
    Restart
    Install WSUS
    Install the two famous updates
    Restart
    Add SUP role
    Environment (one machine):
    Server: 2008 R2
    SCCM: 2012 SP1 - 5.0.7804.1000
    WSUS 3.0 SP2 with both KB's
    Syncing doesn't work.
From the wsyncmgr.log I'd say that SCCM is unable to communicate with WSUS.
From the wcm.log I'd think that Category Products are enabled on SCCM which cannot be found on WSUS, which I find a strange reason to block the whole Updating process but who am I to critisize. :-)
The problem is that I can't find these products in SCCM, let alone disable.
I really hope someone can help me out with this as this is starting to drive me crazy.
Also tried to run the WSUS configuration wizard partially until the products but that didn't help either.
Each time I restart the whole configuration, when I add the SUP role it seems to remember my settings. Is there a proper way to completely remove SUP?

After 3 days of screwing around and one afternoon being sure it's related to the two category updates, I have been able to find a way to fix this situation. Not sure if it's the correct way, but it IS a way.
I'd still be grateful if anyone can explain how it could happen, since this fix is not really supported I guess.
But here is what was wrong.
At a certain point in those 3 days I was getting following error in WSYNCMGR.log:
Sync failed: WSUS server not configured. Please refer to WCM.log for configuration error details.. Source: CWSyncMgr::DoSync
    SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER
    08/12/2013 23:40:04 4720 (0x1270)
I went into the DB, in the CI_UpdateSources table and changed the value for IsExprired from True to False.
Then I got the error from my original post:
Sync failed: WSUS server not configured. Please refer to WCM.log
for configuration error details.. Source: CWSyncMgr::DoSync
I made sure all category products were disabled (I think they were at this time) and went in the DB to the table CI_UpdateCategorySubscription and found that there were two rows with IsSubscribed set to True. What a coïnsidence the error in WCM.log gave
two category products thta could not be found in WSUS.
I went ahead and set them to False and there you go, sync is doing fine now.
Now I'm going to enable some products and check if sync is still ok, and ultimately check if clients receive the updates.
    Questions are:
How could this UpdteSource be flagged as Expired?
How are those two Subscriptions enabled?
The SUP and WSUS have been removed and re-installed at least 3 times or so.
Cheers, hope this can help someone else!

  • Outlook sync problems with iTunes 7.6

After I upgraded to iTunes 7.6 and iPhone 1.1.3, I couldn't sync Outlook (2007)contacts or cals with my iPhone. I reset, uninstalled iTunes/reinstalled, etc, but nothing worked. Then I uninstalled iTunes 7.6 and reinstalled iTunes 7.5.02 (a copy that I found on the web) and everything works well now.
It looks like 7.6 has problems with Outlook syncing. Do not upgrade if this is important to you.

To download iTunes 7.5, go to:
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/11/07/direct-download-itunes-75-to-activate-i phone-anywhere-internationally/
You first need to uninstall 7.6 as well as the Apple Mobile Device support program. Then empty your trash and reboot. Install 7.5. When you try to start 7.5 the first time, it will give you an error related to the library file. Search for that file and trash it (I didn't empty the trash at that point to be safe). Try to start 7.5 at that point and it should work fine. It did for me.

  • Outlook Sync (Contacts/Calendar) Issues - Progress today........

    Folks,
I posted another earlier discussion on this topic over the weekend, but since I got my iPhone on Friday, I have probably burned about 20 hours working trying to figure out why I cannot sync my calendar and contacts from Office 2003 "OR" 2007 into my iPhone. When I started this process, 584 of my 1310 contacts did sync, I had NO luck on getting any of calendar items to sync.
Today we resolved the Contact issue!!! Still working on the calendar issues and if anyone has any further ideas, I am open to it, but it appears for both the contacts and calendar issues, I had corrupt data. You dont know it until encounter it this way.
Here is what you need to do in order to get the contacts to sync, it worked for me, hopefully it will work for many after me:
    1. Export "ALL" of your contacts to a .CSV (Comma Separated Value for Windows) file. Just export them to your desktop or somewhere easy to find them. As an extra safety net to ensure you dont lose your contacts, back them up also to a .XLS file as well as a .PST file.
    2. Delete "ALL" your contacts out of Outlook. Sync Outlook, especially if your like me and have your contacts and calendar on a corporate exchange server. Be sure you clear your iPhone so there is no contacts on it.
    3. Import the .CSV file to a VCARD file, sync to your coporate server, sync your iTunes and you should now see all your contacts.
Again, it worked for me and hopefully it works for you.
    Good Luck!!
    Alan
Dell D420 running Win XP   Windows XP Pro

    Everyone is waiting for this.
Right now you cannot sync locally between your phone and your desktop. You are forced to upload your contacts to another company's server (read "the cloud") and then download them from whatever device you didn't upload them from.
Still waiting for this fix please.

  • Problem about "Checkpoint not complete"

    Dear Friends ,
I got the following error in my database 2 or 3 times a day . The error is :
    Current log# 1 seq# 4127 mem# 0: /dbfs/oradata/ababil/redo01.log
Thread 1 cannot allocate new log, sequence 4128
    Checkpoint not complete
I am using Oracle 10g database server where each redo log file size is 512 MB , and each of the file contains ONE member .
Our production server is used in a Private BANK .
In this moment How can I resolve this problem ?

    Hi,
Girish, I will try to figure out and you tell me the which is best.
Adding the Space or Size to the Existing Redo Log File Size, it will be effect the some time slack for performing the
Checkpoint as the Case concern with OP.
While comparing with scenario where we are adding the Extra Redo Log File, where the one extra Check point will increase in Cycle and as with respective need size/ space is increased (in terms), but the size of existence file is not changed.
I think better to add an Extra Redo Log File, Instead of increasing the Size of present Redo log file.
Let me know what you think... and please post your concerns and Suggestions.
