Outlook tasks completed in iOS Reminders app regenerate 'orphaned' reminders endlessly in Outlook.

Our small business runs up-to-date (iOS 8) Apple devices that sync via MS Exchange with our email, contacts, reminders, etc.
I create a task in Outlook and include a reminder. The task and reminder sync to Reminders on my iPhone and iPad. When I mark a task complete on mobile, the reminder disappears there as it should... but it regenerates the reminder in Outlook! The Outlook task is complete, but the reminder pops up at the top of the list in the Outlook reminders pop-up window. Marking it complete there is an option, but it just regenerates a new reminder. The only way to remove this 'orphan' reminder is to dismiss the reminder or delete the task.
The iOS 8 Reminders app would be very useful but for this bug. It's even better that it puts my work tasks and home tasks (we use a Mac at home so no problem there) in one place. But as it is, the app is not a time saver, but a time-waster and a source of frustration.
Please advise!

  • Reminders app problem adding reminders

So with IOS 6 my wife could not add reminders, there was no plus sign. I changed the iCloud settings to reminders ON and then the plus sign was there and the reminder worked. I don't see why this matters but this worked for me.

Probably because at Settings > Reminders, the Default List for Reminders was set to iCloud and Reminders was turned off for over the air syncing with the iCloud account settings.

  • How do I get Exchange Tasks to display on the Mountain Lion Reminders app?, How do I get Exchange Tasks to display on the Mountain Lion Reminders app?

I am trying to get Exchange and iCloud to play nice. I am trying to get iOS Reminders and OSX Reminders to be in sync with Outlook 2011 Tasks.
    Here's the situation:
Outlook 2011 Tasks sync with iPhone's Reminders app (via Exchange), and vice versa -- this is a work account.
OSX Reminders syncs with iOS Reminders (via iCloud) -- this is personal account and Apple ID account.
OSX Reminders will NOT sync with iOS Reminders.
I don't care if it's through Exchange or iCloud, just as long as Outlook Tasks sync with iOS Reminders and OSX Reminders.

  • Reminders app issue following the clock change

    Hi
I've seen some Q10 users reporting this same issue but not for the Z10 but with no solution yet.  Since the clocks changed and we moved into Daylight Saving Time, I've found an issue with my Reminders app.  All reminders (including those set before and after the clock change) flash up one hour before the time I've set it for.  The clock is correct, as is the timezone, and the lock screen (which shows the next event) shows it at the correct time - it's the physical reminder which is one hour out.
I've tried a hard re-set, pulling the battery out, connecting to the BB Link on my laptop but nothing has sorted out.  I don't know if this is related or not but my phone also did not automatically update the timezone following my return from a trip away (even though it was set to automatically update).  I manually changed it and it now shows correctly as 'Dubline, London).  But, if I turn the 'automatically update timezone' off, and then back on again, the phone automatically shows as Brussels time ie. one hour ahead.  As with the above issue, phone re-sets did not resolve this issue.
Any advice on either, or both, issues would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks

  • Tasks/Reminders added from Outlook (iCloud Control Panel synced) can't be checked off as completed on iOS

I have Outlook on my PC, and can interact with the iOS reminders/tasks through syncing with the iCloud Control Panel. However, if I add a task/reminder this way I have been unable to mark the reminder as complete on my iOS devices (iPhone and iPad). The reminders show up, but clicking on the circle to the left of the task just updates the UI (fills in a circle). If you exit the reminders app or Today screen and go back, the task still remains uncompleted in the list.
Has anyone else seen this? Right now, from iOS, I can only get rid of the reminders by deleting (instead of completing) them ... which is not ideal.
    Current Configuration:
    iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1
    iPad Air with iOS 7.1
Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 with iCloud Control Panel 3.1

    Hello desert_dweller5,
It sounds like you art trying to access a Shared Photo Stream, but you do not have one of the devices to enable your Apple ID as an iCloud account.  The following article provides information on how Shared Photo Streams work:
    iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486
The article states that for privately Shared Photo Streams to work, the recipient will not only have to have an Apple ID, but it will have to be an iCloud account:
Friends and family with iCloud accounts can view your photos in the Photos app on any device using iOS 6 or later; on a Mac in iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later; on a Windows PC with Windows Vista or later and iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later installed; or on a second generation or later Apple TV with software version 5.1 or later installed. They can also view your photos on the web if you enable Public Website in the settings or options for your Shared Photo Stream.
Since you do not have an iCloud account and just and Apple ID, your friend can share the photo stream as a public website so that you can view it, as stated in the same article:
Can I share with people who don't have an iCloud account?
Yes. If you enable Public Website in the settings or options for your shared photo stream your photos will be published to a website that anyone can view in an up-to-date web browser.
To be able to change an Apple ID to an iCloud account, you would need an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later or a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later as stated in the following article:

  • Some Outlook tasks only showing up in Outlook Web App, even if they were entered in Outlook 2013 or on the iOS email client.

A user creates tasks in Outlook 2013, his Exchange email account on his iPhone and in the Outlook Web App (Not Outlook.com). A small number of these tasks will only show up in the Outlook Web App, though, no matter which platform he entered the
task from. He can enter a task in Outlook 2013 and it might not show up on the task list in Outlook 2013 or IOS after that, but WILL show up in the outlook Web App task list.
At first I thought sorting was the issue, but we compared all tasks in both Outlook 2013 and OWA, sorted by due date, and, sure enough, some were missing from 2013.
What I am not sure of:
If/how long a task will be visible on the platform it was submitted before it begins only appearing in OWA.
    How long ago this started
I couldn't find this issue in the community or with a quick google search.
I am going to see when he is available to sit down and go through tasks to see if there is a pattern and try replicate it so I can see how long it might be available on the submitting platform before disappearing.
I can provide any other info needed. Thoughts on this issue?

    Hi,
I would suggest you reset the view if you found some tasks in Outlook missing.
    VIEW tab -> Reset View.
Or we can simply start Outlook with the switch "/cleanviews"(Restores default views. All custom views that you created are lost):
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /cleanviews” in the blank box, then press Enter.
Check if this helps you find the missing tasks.

  • Reminders app with shared Outlook task lists

I am able to get my Outlook tasks list to sync with the Reminders app. However, if I receive a shared task list in Outlook from another user, I can't see it in the Reminders app.  This happens even if I am given "owner" permissions to the task list. Is there a way to get it to appear?

  • Ios 5 Reminders apps issue

Yesterday I upgrade my 3GS to IOS 5 and was fine, I tested every feature and not problem at all but today Reminders apps just show me up Completed screen, I can't create tasks anymore. Anyone knows what I have to do to back Reminders to life?

I attached 2 pictures that you can see there is no other screen than Completed even I swiping.

  • Synchronize Outlook tasks with iPad Reminders

How ca I do this? The iPad has been great with sorting Contacts and Calendar from Outlook. I cannot see a way to do this for Tasks. Is there a way? Is there an iPad App that. Fixes this?

Are you using Exchange to sync your other Outlook data?  If so, you can go into account settings and enable Tasks to sync with the new Reminders app in IOS 5.   I do this with my iPad 2 and it works great -- everything syncs in real time.

  • Reminders app iOS

First, where can a person post a wish list for an iOS app, such as Reminders?
For discussion: I really like how Reminders will put Tasks into Outlook, which I'm forced to use at work.
I would like the ability to reorder the Tasks by dragging and type in landscape mode.
    Thoughts?

I have a similiar but slightly different problem. My badge won't go away in iCloud unless I "activate" it. This affects both Calendar and Reminders apps and only in iCloud. When I first log in, if I have no reminders I get this odd default # of calendar alerts and reminders. If I create an event that sets off an alert, the badge for the calendar will reset to 0 like its supposed to.  If I do the same with a reminder, then the badge for the Reminders will reset to 0 like its supposed to.
Really, really annoying for apps that I use constantly. Unfortunately there's not really a good, simple replacement that doesn't require some other cloud service. Also, I do have one shared calendar and one shared reminder list.

  • How can I sync my Microsoft Outlook tasks with my Ipad reminders? I dont want to use Icloud or an exchange

How can I sync my Microsoft Outlook tasks with my Ipad reminders? I dont want to use Icloud or an exchange

Plug it into your computer. Tell it to sync with "this computer" instead of iCloud. You shouldn't have to remove any apps. Otherwise, you can save the app data by using i-FunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com/ ) just go to the "devices" tab and select 'user applications' and select all of your apps and tell iFunBox to "copy to pc" you're done! You have them all backed up.

  • IOS 5 Reminders App Bug

I would like to report a bug with the Reminders app on iOS 5.1. I had this issue on iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1, but thought it should be fixed by now.
Here are the steps I take and what happens:
I create a new reminder, let's say "Pick up stuff from locker" on a certain day at 3 PM, and set it to remind me every day until I do it.
It reminds me every day at the right time, with no problems.
I finally get the reminder done, and pick up stuff from my locker. I then open the Reminders app.
I check the checkbox next to "Pick up stuff from locker", and wait a few seconds.
The reminder stays on the Reminders page. I swipe to the right to reveal the Completed page, and I see "Pick up stuff from locker" there.
I swipe back to the Reminders page, and STILL, the reminder "Pick up stuff from locker" is there, and this time it's unchecked.
I repeat steps (4) to (6) with no end in sight. At this point, I have duplicates of "Pick up stuff from locker" in the Completed page, but the reminder still will not disappear from the Reminders page. It's not until I actually have to manually delete all the duplcates AND the original reminder from the Reminders page do I see things go back to normal.
I think this is a serious bug, and I would like to see it finally fixed in the near future.

FYI, Apple doesn't read these posts.  You can give them your feedback & suggestions here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • How to syn outlook tasks with iphone reminders

I use a PC with Widows 7 and MS Office 2010
Outlook Contacts, calendar and notes syn with iphone 3 (vers 4.1 software) BUT
Why do Outlook TASKS  NOT SYN with REMINDERS (which seems to do the same function in iphone)?
This is my first discussion question.
Please offer any comments that may assist in finding a solution.
    thanks

Hmmm. I do believe that Apple has set it up so that tasks sync in reminders in my iOS device, so that would be something to do with Apple, don't you think?

  • Reminders App in iOS 7

Is anyone else having MAJOR issues with the iOS 7 version of the Reminders app?
Here are some things i've encountered.
    1. In settings, when you set the default 'list', and then go to reminders, it always goes to the last list you were on, not the default.
    2. (and i'm shocked that apple messed this one up)... There is no longer a "+" sign to create a reminder.  You have to scroll down to the bottom of your list in order to add a reminder.  And when you are in the 'scheduled' reminders, the 'return' key does not allow you to create another reminder.
Has anyone else had these problems or know a solution?  I just feel like this app took two giant steps back instead of any steps forward.

Same problem. I contacted Apple and a customer service agent tried to help me. I had them go through the same process and they agree it is flawed. They put in a request to management to fix it but who knows how long that will take. Ios7 made reminders worse.
Also everytime I delete a reminder instead of marking it complete, it scrolls up to the top of the page. Little thing but so annoying. Have to scroll all the way back down.
Becasue you cant edit in the notes areas of Reminders, another pain is trying to copy any text from. You cant even do that if you want to bring it to another app to edit, without having a headache.
