Outlook Web Access (OWA) - Sidebar has vanished.
I am having trouble with my Outlook Web Access (OWA) which I use to access my work email from home. Unfortunately, I am not able to access the same functions like flagging emails ect. More importantly, I can't seem to get the sidebar to show. This is the sidebar that I use to move between folders ect. I am only able to see the list of emails. Anyone have any ideas on what I need to do to fix this? I can't even find the Logout button. Thanks so much for your help!
Hi,
maybe you can do a little trick on the HTML page:
1. Display it as an URL iView
2. Instead of deleting the button in the HTML, take a look at the HTML code, the CSS is .nbButton. Maybe you can change this for the logoff Button (eg: to .logoffButton, with the same properties as .nbButton)
3. In the portal, overwrite the logoffButton CSS so, that visibility = false. Because the portal CSS will only be used in the portal, you can maintain just 1 version of the OWA HTML file and still have the ability to "hide" the logoff Button.

Need help accessing Outlook Web Access (OWA)
I want to be able to to access Outlook Web Access (OWA) from my touch. It was part of the reason that I bought it. I don't want full crackberry functions, just the ability to see my email on OWA and shoot off a short reply. When I try to log in, I get the user name and password prompt, but then it just hangs. I saw on a prior post that someone said it just takes a long time, so I left for several hours and no movement. Our OWA is mail.company.com with normal user name and password. I have tried logging in using [email protected], domaine/username and tried accessing though OMA (which it turns out we do not have). Any help, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I would also appreciate anyone telling me what info I need to get from my IT guy as he is less than helpful on this issue (He thinks that screen is to small to be useful so why should he bother trying to help).
ThanksSorry you're having trouble... Here's my experience so far (1 week with IPT)
I have used the IPT to access to separate OWA servers with good results. It's actually more usable than I expected.
Via Outlook Web Access 2007, the Use Outlook Web Access Light checkbox is automatically checked for me when I access via the IPT.
Via Outlook Excahnge Server 2003, I use the 'basic' option.
Neither server takes more than 10-15 seconds to log in.

Outlook Web Access (OWA)
My company uses an Exchange Server with Outlook Web Access enabled, but I'm not sure of the other settings (IMAP?)
When I got my iPhone I could not set up a link to the main server, but after some research discovered I could retrieve and send mail if I set up the account like this:
webmail.companyname.com
username: first.lastname (as my company designates us)
password: as required.
This worked fine until the company turned off some function of the server so that we can only access mail by signing into webmail with a browser (very cumbersome). However, users of Sprint Instincts can still access their mail by using the Instinct's mail setup and specifying an OWA account. Their mail is not "pushed" to their phones, but they can still access it by going to their mail function similar to us iPhone users just touching the mail icon. They are not looking at a website like through a browser, but rather just like any other synched mailbox.
Why can't the iPhone still access webmail like the Instinct? Is there a way around this or an App that makes webmail accessible without going through the browser?
Thanks,

IPhone cannot connect to Exchange Outlook Web Access ( OWA )
Let me start by saying that my company will not activate POP or IMAP on their Exchange mail server. I am stuck with using their OWA interface into Exchange. However, when I enter the web address for OWA it never gets there. The iPhone will get to the login screen, but can never access the web interface.
Hi,
If you browse to the OWA address from a Microsoft Windows system using Internet Explorer, does it bring you to a web form to login or do you get a Windows login popup (NTLM)?
I have tried accessing OWA where Exchange is not setup for a "forms" web page login, but rather popping up a windows login box to enter username and password.
It worked. -
Safari displays messages in Outlook Web Access (OWA) incorrectly
I use Safari on my Iphone to view/process my Outlook email. It is a bit cumbersom, but works. However, just recently, it changed. Now, when I open an email, if I press "Reply" (agian this is an OWA) button, it creates a reply, but only shows the orginal message, regardless of how long the string is. So, if sent an original email, got a 'reply' response, then I did a 'reply' to the 'reply', my new message would only contain my original message.
This seems to have changed since the upgrade.
Not sure if this is a natative Safari, or Iphone issue.
I welcome any suggestions as this has made my phone useless for replying to emails.Does anyone have any insight on this?

Paste screenshot in outlook web access - OWA
Exchange server 2007
IE 8
Hello,
Is it possible to paste/embed a screenshot into a new email through OWA ?
Maybe in exchange server 2010 ?
regards,
wim.Hi Wim,
Yes you can embed a screenshot or any other picture into a new email in OWA; however you cannot use cut/paste to accomplish this. You must press the add picture button in OWA's compose message window, which allows you to select an picture and embed it inline.

Email body of HTML or RTF messages are rendered in ASCII characters after upgrading to Firefox 5 when viewing email in MS Outlook Web Access (OWA) light from MS Exchange 2007 servers. Issue is repeatable with two entirely different Exchange systems.
Text email renders OK. Work around is to forward email (in use MS-IE).You are welcome. I'm glad you got it back up.
(1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
(2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
(3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
(4) Add some SARE rules:
Visit http://www.rulesemporium.com/rules.htm and download the following rules:
70sareadult.cf
70saregenlsubj0.cf
70sareheader0.cf
70sarehtml0.cf
70sareobfu0.cf
70sareoem.cf
70sarespoof.cf
70sarestocks.cf
70sareunsub.cf
72sare_redirectpost
Visit http://www.rulesemporium.com/other-rules.htm and download the following rules:
backhair.cf
bogus-virus-warnings.cf
chickenpox.cf
weeds.cf
Copy these rules to /etc/mail/spamassassin/
Then stop and restart mail services.
There are other things you can do, and you'll find differing opinions about such things. In general, I think implementing the "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server" and adding the SARE rules will help a lot. Good luck! -
Outlook Web Access & User Mapping
Hello everyone,
I know this question has been asked often and I have attempted to read as many messages related to this topic as I possibly can but I haven't been able to locate an answer that works (or that I fully understand).
I'm running EP6.0, SP13 on a Windows 2003 server.
Our corporate email is running Exchange 2000 SP3.
I've been able to successfully setup my Exchange Transport in that I am able to successfully connect to the Calendar repository and I have been able to create my SAP-provided Outlook Web Access iViews.
My question/problem that I have is, is there a way to get around the fact that when a user first accesses the OWA iviews, they get prompted for their domain user ID and password?
I setup User Mapping for the Exchange server and figured that would get around a user having to enter their user name and password.
Is that not the case?
I've reviewed the documents: "How to...Create iViews to Access Exchange Data", "How to analyze Microsoft Exchange integration with SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0" and "Integration of Outlook Web Access (OWA) into SAP Enterprise Portal" but haven't found a definitive answer.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Cannot contact Exchange Server or open Outlook Web Access in Safari
I am a small business user operating in an Exchange environment and have been having some connectivity problems:
1. Mail: I have been able to connect to and download emails from my Exchange server in Mail (both public and private folders) but have not been able to send mails through the same account. The server address is the same address as we use for Outlook Web Access (OWA). We do not use POP or SMTP, nor do we have separate addresses on the Exchange/OWA account.
2. Safari: For some reason, it is not possible for me to open OWA; Safari just "hangs" indefinitely and does not prompt for password or username. The window just remains blank. My OWA works perfectly with Windows-based machines.
3. Address: it is not possible to contact the Exchange server from Address Book to synchronize contacts. I keep getting an error that "iSync couldn't connect to Exchange". As I have just purchsed an iPhone, it is critical to make this work, otherwise I have no contacts on the iPhone.
In all cases, my Exchange/OWA server address is *https://mail.servername.com/exchange/username* for both outgoing and incoming mails. I have checked that the password and username are correct.
Can somebody help me here? Is there a server or client side adjustment that needs to be made? Are there any special certificates that are required? Making this work is really important...
Thanks in advance for your help!

Outlook Web Access vs ActiveSync
Hi all,
Apologies if this question was already asked, but I can't seem to find it if so.
I work at a largish company who use Outlook Exchange for our corporate mail. One of the main reasons I got my iPhone 3G is so I read my work mail wherever I am without having to ask for a company Blackberry.
However I may have made a mistake as I didn't realise how worried about security the firm is. I cannot set up ActiveSync for the life of me - it just says wrong password even when it is correct - and this may be because:
1) The firm does not allow IMAP or POP access to Exchange
2) I do not think they have ActiveSync activated on teh server and I cannot change this
However, we do have Outlook Web Access (OWA) which I can access through a normal browser. In fact I can get this working on Safari but I have to enter the username/domain and password every single time which is unworkable. Therefore my question is:
- Can I access work email through iPhone native email client, perhaps by utilising the Outlook Web Access (or finding a way to still use ActiveSync)?
Thanks a lot for any help, I'm tearing my hair out here (in a newbie style of way)!!Unfortunately not, OWA using some fancy coding that means it will never store your password in your broswer. You have to type it in every time.
Your only choice is to yell and scream at your IT department until they enable ActiveSync.
Please note some key words that may help you achieve this goal:
*Remote Wipe* - This allows, in the event of the phone been stolen, for the phone to be wiped remotely.
*Limited Exposure via Limited Backdated Emails* - This means that if for any reason the person who stole your phone is smart enough to disable all internet access (WiFi, 3G, EDGE, GPRS) BEFORE turning (or the wipe command is issued) on the headset there will be a limited amount of mail in the box... the options are 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month (default), no limit.
And finally, *Increased Productivety* - You will be able to increase the produtivity of your working by getting mail on your phone. -
Portal and Non-Exchange Outlook Web-access integration
Hi, Expert,
the question concerns SAP EP integration with Outlook Web Access (OWA).
The problem is that OWA is not based on MS Exchange Server, but on CommuniGate Pro.
So I need any help, here are my question:
1. Did anyone integrate this 2 systems?
2. What is the point where I have to begin from?
3. Do I need any connectors for this activity?
For the completness of my problem: what do i really need is to use calendar (an other Outlook-like things) in my portal.
Thanks in advance! You could try this if you have Outlook Web Access already working, put the following into a html portlet and just replace the url with your outlook web access url.
Our admin guys have enabled automatic login to outlook if using internet explorer

OWA (outlook web access) server character limit
Hi,
When I try to add the server for my OWA account on the BIS account, it truncates the last portion, as it seems the server name is too long. Does anyone know what the character limit is set to (seems to only allow about 72 characters), or if BB has any plans on increasing this limit any time soon?
Thank you,
KenHi and Welcome to the Forums!
While I don't know the specific answer to your question, I can offer a potential workaround...
If you have been trying to configure using the device interface to BIS (Setup > Email Settings), then you might try (from a PC/browser) your carriers web interface to BIS. You can find it here:

And FWIW here is the OWA configuration KB:

Force Day View of Calendar Published from Outlook Web Access
Is there a way to force the view of the Outlook calendar published through Outlook Web Access 2013 so that it displays the day or week view without the user having to click on an icon to change the view? I want to display a day view calendar (or week
view) by default. I can successfully publish the calendar but a user has to click the icons to change the view. I want to display the calendar in an iframe on a digital sign and the user won't have a way to click or touch the icon. Are there
parameters that can be passed in the url?Hello Brian,
I'd suggest asking OWA specific questions on the
Exchange Server for Developers forum instead. Also you may find the
Exchange Server 2010 Outlook Web App Customization SDK helpful.
As for Microsoft Office Outlook you can use the
CurrentView property of the Explorer or Folder classes which returns a View object
representing the current view. To obtain a View object for the view of the current Explorer,
use Explorer.CurrentView instead
of the CurrentView property of the currentFolder object
returned by Explorer.CurrentFolder.
The View object allows you to create customizable views that allow you to better sort, group and ultimately view data of all different types. There are a variety of different view types that provide
the flexibility needed to create and maintain your important data.
The table view type (olTableView) allows you to view data in a simple field-based table.
The Calendar view type (olCalendarView) allows you to view data in a calendar format.
The card view type (olCardView) allows you to view data in a series of cards. Each card displays the information contained by the item and can be sorted.
The icon view type (olIconView) allows you to view data as icons, similar to a Windows folder or explorer.
The timeline view type (olTimelineView) allows you to view data as it is received in a customizable linear time line.
Views are defined and customized using the View object's XML property.
The XML property allows you to create and set a customized XML schema that defines the various features of a view.
