Outlook webmail times out every minute or two

Hi, we use Outlook at work and use webmail for Outlook Express at home. After signing in at home, I am timed out every minute or two, and I have to copy and paste every email because it won't send when I click send, it just sends me back to the login. I am clicking the option for "private computer" and am definitely not inactive at any point before being logged out.  Any suggestions?!

Jon,
1. Since your computer "crashed" updating software use Disk Utility as specified in the Try Disk Utility paragraph of Mac OS X 10.4: About the utilities available on the Mac OS X 10.4 Install DVD. When you get a clean bill of health, restart from your Hard Drive and run "Repair Disk Permissions" from the Disk Utility application which is in your Utility Folder.
2. If those procedures do not solve your problem, find the com.apple.finder.plist file in your ~Library/Preferences Folder, drag it to the Desktop and then log out/in or restart.
3. If that is unsuccessful reapply the Mac OS X Update 10.4.5 Combo.
Let us know what happens.

I dropped my iphone 3gs in water and grabbed it immediately out. It gave me a charger not supported sign every minute or two. I decided to turn it off for the night and the next morning it worked fine and only the bottom sensor was triggered. Why does it still work and how long will it last?

Water in itself will not kill electronic components if you let it dry out.  Your first reaction to turn it off was a good one but you could have waited even longer.
It also depends what's on your water that will stay after the water itself had dried; like salt. Anything that iseither acid or conductor left on the circuit board will reduce the life of the board.  Given said this, no one could state how long your iPhone will work since no one will know for sure where the water had time to infiltrate before you removed your device and no one what's may left there.
Consider yourself lucky.  I don't understand however what you mean by a sensor triggered.

About a month ago, I began periodically getting the spinning wheel while trimming, adding titles or transitions, etc.  It lasts for about 15 seconds and then goes away.  This seems to happen once every minute or two.  I have more than enough RAM/Power, etc.  About every other time I use FCPX it will spontaneously close (typically when editing a title).  None of these things were happening previously.  I have lots of projects that I store on Promise Pegasus drives via Thunderbolt.  I only keep a few projects and the associated events open in FCPX at a time, otherwise I use Event Managaer X to keep track of them.  Can anybody give me any suggestions as to why this is occurring and what I can do to remedy it?  I have the latest version of FCPX as far as I can tell.  This is driving me mad and costing me significant time while editing.  By the way, I am doing just basic editing.  Essentially trimming, cutting and adding some transitions and a few title screens.  Thanks in advance for your help.

These apperarances of the spinning wheel tend to be related to some io operation that takes too long. Maybe the finder is trying to reach a network server that became unavailable.
I would try clearing caches and do an overall maintenance with an utility like OnyX.
Also, trashing preferences does no harm and is often the first troubleshooting measure when FCP X misbehaves.

  • Finder in restarts every minute or two

I was updating software, via software update, when my computer crashed. I restarted, and finished the installation. But now, my finder quits out and reopens every minute or so. It disrupts all work. Especially my attempts for a frantic back up in case the harddrive has gone south. Does anyone have any thoughts on this one?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • HT1218 after Lion update my airport get a time out every 3 min. and loos connection - how can i fix it?

    Hej
After I updated to Lion OS my airport get time out and I loos connection al the time . can you help med to fix this problem?
    Thanks

I turned on data roaming like you had said. Still didn't work. I tried calling the customer service support number with Verizon the other day. I was told by technical support to head over to a local Best Buy and have the reps at the Samsung Experience uninstall the updated software and install it again but on ground not over the network. I went and did that today and still nothing. I'm still on 3g. The rep was puzzled as to why my phone was on global network instead of the LTE/CDMA. I also performed a factory reset on my phone and still nothing. Its frustrating a bit because i specifically bought my Galaxy S5 with Verizon so i could be on 4G LTE and now i cant get it anymore. If Verizon cant seem to figure out my problem with my phone, is this covered under the warranty? I just bought my phone in may 2014.

  • Fire fox times out every time I do Google search, I have Juno as a dial up for a spare and I get Norton with that.

Since reinstalling Juno i have not been able to use search from Mozilla, It times out all the time. The juno site allows the search to continue. I would like to stay with Mozilla since all my favorite are there. My favorites do not have this problem only when I google a new inquiry.

Unfortunately, using a Dial-up connection will result in alot of time-outs in this day's internet. However, I'll post a few potential fixes below, that might help alleviate the issue.
First, try to reset Firefox. [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]. This simple step will eliminate many Firefox problems with only one click.
A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this:
Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.
Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Update all your plugins (Flash, Java, etc.): [http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/].
Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.

  • Connection Times Out Every Time!!!

Every time I try to publish my Muse site I get an error saying that the connection has timed out.  Why is it doing this?  I really need to publish the site!  Please advise.

Yes, but in fact the message is this:
Three days now.  It gets stuck on the same image every time.  It's a big file, and I know this has happened to other people but I don't know how else to upload.  I've heard some people say using the admin console or FTP, but I don't know how to do that.

  • Despite trying troubleshooting tips I just cannot get Firefox to connect to Facebook or YouTube at peak times ! The connection times out every time. please help as I am a novice at this.

For about the last 3 weeks - since I think I updated Firefox, my laptop just will not connect to Facebook or YouTube. A couple of friends who know more about computers than me have tried to clear caches and cookies, and have tried the other trouble shooting tips, but to no avail. My son cannot connect on his I-Pod, and a friend cannot on his mobile either. Yet there does not appear to be a problem with my broadband connection, and it does sometimes connect in the very early morning, albeit slowly. I have 2 very disgruntled children who cannot talk to their friends and I cannot keep in touch with family etc.

Hi judy. I feel your frustration and anger. I had placed an order with B&N and got billed twice. I called them and i let the rep know i had just checked my acct and saw i've been billed twice. The rep checked and sure enough their records showed i was billed twice.
Then the rep apologized, which is always cool for a corp to do, and i was told that the money would be credited back to my card within 3 to 5 business days. And sure enough that's what happened.
Why Verizon can't do the same thing is...

  • Draft mail messages are being saved every minute!!

How do i stop Mail from saving Drafts every minute?

I received the identical message as you did. Hope someone can help us. I've posted several times detailing the timing out message and so far have had no responses.
Each time this message appears, every minute or two, a draft appears in the Drafts mailbox. If I send the drafts to myself or delete them, whenever I log on to Mail again, the problem will again develop.
From what I've read, numerous people are having this problem. I hope Apple can soon fix it with an update. My Mail on my G4 and G3 works perfect, using the OS Tiger. It was when I installed Leopard on my G5, and downloaded their update 10.5.1 that this developed. The draft that keeps appearing is one of the stationary templets that I looked at after I updated.

  • Recurring ping timeout to certain IPs every minute

    Hi all,
Had BT broadband for a month now and have been getting chronic lag when playing online games and surfing the web. The same issue seems to manifest when pinging certain IP addresses using "ping -t" in command prompt. I consistently get two consecutive timeouts every 55-60 seconds to IPs located USA, France and Sweden.
Here's an image showing what I mean:
I experience the same issue with two devices, my PC connected using the ethernet cable to a home hub 3.0 (plugged into master socket), and my phone connected wirelessly to the device. I have also tried a different router, a draytek vigor 2800v and have experienced the same issue.
One thing to note is that not all IP addresses produce this problem. I've performed a tracert to eu.battle.net which is the first server that I noticed the problem with. If I  go down the list and ping each of these addresses in turn, I find that the issue begins at core2-pos1-0-0.telehouse.ukcore.bt.net [62.6.201.86]. However, I go through them in order of least ping, indicating the route that my network packets are following, the issue actually begins at ldn-bb1-link.telia.net [80.91.252.197].
This result is backed up by someone elses findings in a similar thread.

I was pinging some more addresses and found that www.google.co.uk was also timing out every 60 seconds, so I got this trace route:

  • Connection time out

    Hello everyone,
I'm using modem PK5000 from Century Link. My other two desktops are using Window and in the same room w my modem.
I got connection time out every time my computer started playing the screen saver.
All I have to do is restarting my modem but it's so unconvinience.
I called Century Link customer service and all they told me is changing the channel but it didn't solve the problem.
At school and other people's places, my wifi works just fine.
I used cleanmymac about a month ago and this problem started a week ago.
Can cleanmymac cause the problem? If so, how can I check and fix it?
I check the apple store to update my software but everything is up to date.
Can it be the firmware of my modem? My brother who uses the two desktops (and they connect to the modem with LAN cables) upgraded firmware last week and it seems like when the problem started.
And when my Mac loses the wifi signal, my printer still has the signal, but my desktop cannot log-in to page 192.168.0.1 which manages the modem and wifi even though the desktop connects w my modem by LAN cable and it still connects to the internet.
If you have any clue, please help!
    Thank you so much!

    Thanks Todd, Wayne,
this network timeout sure seems to be the guilty one!
I've changed it, lets see if it's fixed but sure looks like it.
The thing is that I was looking for GWWS tuning here :

  • WiFi on 2nd generation iPod Touch times out

The WiFi for my 2nd generation iPod Touch is connected, but the internet is either excruciatingly slow, or times out every time I try to use it. I have a full signal and I've tried resetting the network settings as well as the iPod setting, but neither has made a difference. How do I fix this without spending money?

I took it into the Apple store and was told it could be a hardware problem, and (of course) I'm out of warranty, so tough cookies. How does something like this happen? I haven't dropped it or spilled anything on it. All I've done is listen to music, download apps, play games and surf the internet -- why am I told "tough luck," because it decided to stop working after two years of gentle usage? Ugh. Hope this serves as a warning to others: Apple products are not really worth the pricetag if they give out after 2 years, so be weary.

what are your firewall settings like? sometimes this can cause problems when downloading upgrades, try switching it off while you download (might want to try the same with your anti-virus software).
