Outlook13 with 8.1 will not send but will receive email

I can receive messages but get an error when trying to send email... I have a private domain email (not gmail, yahoo, etc.).. server is network solutions....
they wanted me to pay for tech support , so did microsoft... there has to be an easy fix... My old xp computer with outlook works fine with the same settings...

In order to resolve the issue more efficiently, I'd like to collecting the following information:
What error message did you get when sending email?
Do you have a webpage interface? Can you send email from there?
When did this issue happen? Does your email account ever work when configured in Outlook 2013?
How did you set your email account in Outlook? Via POP3, IMAP or others? You should contact your provider and make sure you have enter correctly in the "Outgoing server (SMTP)" field.

    First thing to try would be to double-check the "Outgoing Mail Server" settings in Mail, Preferences, Accounts.

  • Cant send, but can receive email

    Every since I downloaded update, I can not send email from my bizpop account using my contacts list. I get the error message that the email address is invalid. If I hand enter the email address I get the same error.
    Sending email from my pop3 account using my contacts list I ge the same error, but if I hand enter an email account it sends. Any way to uninstall "the fix"?

    Being bizpop you must have created it by hand so I would check your outgoing server is entered correctly -settings, mail contacts and calendar, [your id]@bizpop.com (or whatever), SMTP and check all the servers are entered correctly. If still no luck I would delete the account before backing up and restoring from the backup but you may still need to do this without restoring from backup and selecting new iPhone when it asks if it is hopeless; after restore create the account again.

    I am unable to receive work e-mails but I can sent them.  When I try to sync my inbox it states that unable to connect to server.  However, this cannot be since i am able to send through the same server?   Any ideas?

    Send and receive server parameters aren't the same (ports used, protocols,...) therefore you may want to check your incoming mail parameters are properly set.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

    I have spent the majority of today re-installing OS X and all necessary updates, music, data after the death of a hard drive. Luckily everything went perfectly, except for the same problem I had with Mail even before the 1st hard drive died. Mail will not send mail, only receive.
    All efforts time out and give me this message: "The connection to the server mail.earthlink.net on port 25 timed out"
    Mail used to send messages, but stopped suddenly in 2004 and has yet to start again. Any idea guys?! I can't figure it out, under Account settings I have necessary fields filled in: Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) is set to "mail.earthlink.net", Server Port is set to 25, and Authentication drop menu is set to None.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    This is NOT a problem with Mail or OS X. This is an incorrect settings problem - garbage in = garbage out and this information is certainly available at Earthlink's website and Earthlink also provides technical support.
    Earthlink has an authenticated SMTP server they changed to long ago.
    SMTP Server: smtpauth.earthlink.net
    Server Port: 587 but 25 should work if you are using Earthlink as your internet service provider for connecting to the internet.
    Use SSL: Off or not selected.
    Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response
    User Name: Your ENTIRE Earthlink email address.
    Password: The account's password - the same password used to check the incoming mail server for new messages.

    I have been having problems with addressing  group emails I think only since Maverick. I have been unable to drag the group or copy the addresses into the "To" or "cc".
    However if I have 2 groups (Say "Family Close" and "Family Others" if one TYPES  Family in the "To" space the alternative are shown and when one clicks on one of these the "Bolded"  group is shown and can be expanded etc

    Try going menu>applications>manage applications > menu>filter all.. then go to Gmail and Gmail storage and clear cache. This will clear your outbid that's trying to send. So make sure to save emails you need first before starting this process.

    i am trying to send email notification via workflow, but i am not able to do so. anyone can help to troubleshoot this?
    below are the steps i have carried out for email configuration:
    1. i have added the mail server on mds.ini, MDS is restarted after every changes.
    2. requester and approval has correct email setup at console.
    3. a notification is added in workflow.
    4. telnet ping to mail server with port 25 is fine.
    when i check the log, i have the error :
    "Could not send e-mail [10013 : email : Notify] [Mail server:xxxxxxxxx] [From address:xxxxxxxx] [To address:xxxxxxx
    i know the guidelines and steps for configurations, but apparently it does not workout, so any troubleshoot guideline will be more appreciated.

    Hi Shanti,
    I am sure you must have checked all this but then again would you please check following things and let us know ?
    1) Please check the SMTP Server Name in your Outlook Express if you are using Outlook
    2) Please log into MDS file and go under that particular Repositoy and check what details you have given for Mail Server
    3) Please give SMTP address in mail server line
    4) Log into Console and check if you have alligned Users and Roles to each other correctly or not.
    5) log into Data Manager and open the workflow and check the properties of Mail notification stencil and check if correct proertise are set ot not.
    Once you have made the changes at server level please restart the server again and then please let us know if this problem exist or not, may be we can more troubleshoot it further.

    You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
    They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.
