Outlook2013 EAS connection

Hi,
I am using Outlook2013/Exchange Mail app in mobile devices to connect to Office365 in cloud. In doing this, I'm using my own relay server in between Outlook 2013 and Office365. The relay server accepts HTTP requests.
Mobile clients are working fine and I'm able to connect to O365 successfully. However, Outlook2013 is unable to connect.
Outlook2013 configuration:
a. Manual setup
b. Selected Outlook.com or EAS compatible service
c. Entered User credentials
d. Mail server: Relay server IP:port
e. Clicked Next
Can someone put their thoughts on this issue? I assume Outlook is sending HTTPS and not HTTP packets. Is there a way to uncheck SSL during EAS configuration?
Also, if relay server details are given does Outlook still tries Autodiscover?
I also need details how initial connection from Outlook is made.
Thanks

Generally, we configure Exchange account in Outlook by using autodiscover service to finish Auto Account Setup.

  • Unable to Connect to my organization's EAS using MS Mail app since upgrade to Windows 8.1 -- certificate error

Last November, my ASUS laptop forced me to update to Windows 8.1.  Since then, I cannot connect to my organization's mobile EAS using the Mail/Calendar/People app.  The Mail app says "We could not connect to .... because of problems with its
digital certificates.  Contact your system administrator for info."  I also tried to delete the account and recreate it.  At the account info screen, it gave a related error message, stating "To connect to this account, you need a
valid certificate on the PC. Contact your system administrator for more info."
In trying to recreate the account, I note that the 8.1 Mail app appears to have combined all EAS connections -- I seem to recall different options for connecting previously, including one that was more specific to mobile EAS connections.  My organization
only supports connection to mobile devices, and I continue to be able to connect via Windows phone, Android (iOS devices also supported).
I have done some digging and see that in my Windows Certificate Manager, there is a Personal Certificate with an error message. It's a "Token Signing Public Key" for "Client Authentication" using an RSA Public Key, but under the Certification
Path tab, the status states "The issuer of the certificate could not be found."  I suspect this is the certificate that my organization's server is sending but is no longer being recognized by Windows 8.1.
My organization has been unwilling to support me on this.  They point to the fact that all other devices work, my connection worked with Windows 8.0, and they don't have enough users that connect via Windows 8.1 laptops/tablets to troubleshoot on their
end.  They also don't want to change setting that then cause other users to lose connectivity on the more commonly used mobile devices.
So, to trouble shoot myself, I have looked up posts on related issues and I have done all of the following to no avail:
    - Make sure my Windows is up to date, including that latest Certificate/Credential update;
    - Uninstalled the Mail/Calender/People App, restarted, and reinstalled it;
    - Had MS Online support try to trouble shoot.  They created a test account and tried to connect using that to no avail.
Notably, I have two Windows 8.1 machines -- my wife and I got matching ASUS laptops that both upgraded to 8.1 from 8.0  -- and I am unable to connect to my organization's mobile EAS using either machine.
To me, this is clearly a Windows 8.1 issue.  The Mail/Calendar/People app should interface with mobile EAS exactly the same way that other mobile OSes do.  Apparently this was the case with Windows 8.0, but no longer.
The last thing I'll add is that my organization requires password and remote wiping when connecting to the mobile EAS.  But, this wasn't an issue when I had Windows 8.0 -- it connected fine and mandated password and remote wipe features.
NOTE: I originally posted this question on the Windows 8.1 Tehchnet forum and was told by an MS Engineer Soumya Sunda Debroy to repost in this forum.
PLEASE ADVISE.  YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED.

Per the post above, I was pointed to Microsoft's remote connectivity analyzer and it appears to me that the GoDaddy Certificate -- which was compatible with Windows 8, is not compatible with Windows 8.1.  (See results below.
I've also seen posts in other threads to "Ignore SSL errors" -- my Mail app doesn't present me that option, even though I uninstalled and reinstalled it.  So, can anyone help?

  • EAS LOGS for indidual Users

    Hello Team
is there any way to pull out the EAS logs for individual user from the IIS directory, instead of searching the user in each log files?
Am using exchange 2007 and i would like to review the EAS connectivity for one particular user who is having the problem in viewing his inbox in mobile.so that i would like to look the LOGS for any errors for the particular users

You could import the file into Excel and sort through them.  Or maybe the log parser tool might be helpful.

  • Outlook 2013 Accoutn Creation Wizard falsely claims to not find the EAS server.

We have an ActiveSync Protocol 14.1 compliant Server. Once an account has been configured to use EAS to Sync with our server, it functions flawlessly. The problem is that the Account Creation Wizard falsely claims that the server could not be found. I see
it make the http OPTIONS request to the server, and hte account is in place in the account list... At this time, however, it then claims that it can't find the server, and hitting cancel results in the wizard deleting the account from the accounts list.
By terminating the process prior to hitting cancel, the account remains, and Outlook functions wonderfully with it.
What is Outlook looking at to block EAS connections to actual Exchange Servers?

The ActiveSync Server is returning the minimum HTTP Headers on an OPTIONS request to be EAS 14.x compliant. Obviously, Exchange is sending much more in the http headers. I know this, I was a Senior Escalation Engineer for Exchange in Microsoft's Las Colinas
facilty for 11 years... I used to write fixes for Exchange (5.5 through 2007 and worked with the 2010 Beta).
The OL2013 Client is mistakenly thinking that our ActiveSync Server is actually Exchange. Therefore, IF we were to mimic Exchange more, it would only exacerbate the issue with more data that makes the client think that it's an Exchange Server, and recommend
    using Exchange MAPI Connectivity.
With this in mind, flagging this as an Answer is illogical and errant. Recommending that we mimic Exchange even more by adding data that Exchange is sending, would be counter-productive, as OL2013 has been documented that it will connect to any EAS 14.x
compliant server as long as it is NOT Exchange Server itself

  • Need assistance to setup wi-fi connection on MB Air

I got some problems with connecting my MacBook Air to my home Wi-Fi. (OSX Lion last version)
I got a casual Wi-Fi without any protection. But this Wi-Fi require PPPOE autentication. Special login and password from my internet provider. I'm not sure how i can make it on Mac OS-X, because i never use this operation system before.
I easely connect my PlayStation 3 to this Wi-Fi and another notebook with Windows XP. But can't figure out how to make it on Mac OS-X. Spend almost 4 hours of trying to make it, nothing.
Someone had this problem if past?

    Hi...
Go to system prefernces / network.
Click the padlock to unlock and then the + sign.
In the interface drop-down select the PPPoE item and hit create.
Enter the proper credentials in the form, and you should be up and running.

  • Z10 on EAS Remote Search not performing.

    Hello there!
I have a Z10 that is connecting to our Exchange Server via EAS.
Because of the 30 day limitation on emails we are wanting to use the Remote Search function in order to retrieve older emails from the server. However, it only seems to retrieve result that are ~45 days old.
There don't appear to be any configuration issues with the phone and there are no configuration issues with the server as our iPhone and Android clients can retrieve emails of any age via an EAS connection.
My clients require the ability to search for older emails on the server; up to 3 years worth.
According to Blackberries official statement on searching for emails older than 30 days: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33742
    Workaround
Attempt a remote search to retrieve older emails. "

    Hello,
I have a 3G and after upgrading to iOS4, whenever I delete messages from an Exchange mailbox on my iPhone, I get the message 'Unable to Move Message - The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash'. • Exchange 2010 Autodiscovery & Outlook Anywhere kind of but really not working

This is driving me nuts. We have a single Exchange Server 2010 running (everything is on one box). It works fine internally (all Outlook clients can see and grab the login info from the user login). OWA works from outside, mail delivers nicely. My problems
all seem to stem around some mysterious problem in autodiscover and outlook anywhere.
Our domain is internally like this: mycompany2.com and outside like this: mycompanyllc.com
So the mail server inside looks like server1.mycompany2.com and outside: mail.mycompanyllc.com - from what I can see it's all set up correctly in both.
I've run the connectivity analyzer and apart from a minor certificate warning ('Your certificate may not be trusted on Windows if the "Update Root Certificates" feature isn't enabled) it passes every test on the site for EAS and Outlook Anywhere
(and for good measure I ran everything, all green checks!). Autodiscover works in the test, everything gets found and pointed to the right place.
When I have a user that wants to configure Outlook 2010 or 2013 outside
the org. they start the wizard, type their name, their email, their password. The server or user can't be found and no matter what they do it won't find it. If you go in and manually configure the
internal server name, domain, username you can connect. It just won't set it up automatically. The odd thing is, in the analyzer the autodiscovery XML is found and downloaded fine, all the server name info and detail is displayed.
In Outlook 2013, both Exchange and EAS connection doesn't work even though phones can be set up through EAS (although they require the same kind of manual setup--autodiscover doesn't seem to work even though it keeps telling me everything
    is fine).
I'm at wits end, all the tests show it's working, but in the real world the server can't be found. It's right on the DNS servers, it's right in the tests, it responds correctly manually. I'd love users to be able to set up their own mail without a 10 page
printout of all the manual settings. It's all relatively late model hardware, Outlook 2010 or 2013, and a fully patched up to date Exchange 2010 server. Anyone have an idea?
    Curt Kessler - FLC

We don't use TMG we use a WatchGuard Firewall and it is configured to allow all traffic to this server (that's why manual works fine with Outlook and OWA).
When I run the get-autodiscovervirtualdirectory it returns my internal server under the Server, and nothing more, so this possibly could be it?? I'm definitely not good at IIS at all, I would need guidance to investigate that further...
This is my EXRCA results, the first fail is because it tests the root of mydomain.com rather than mail.mydomain.com which is a different server. I've replaced some names for security purposes:

  • Calendar modify by an attendant problem

    Hi ,
I've got a problem with ceo calendar update via active sync.
Everything works fine if a new appointment is inserted on the ceo's calendar by his secretary.
(she has editor pemission on the calendar). If Ceo's secretary changes an existing appointament modification aren't replicated on ceo Iphone.
I checked IIS log without notice someting strange.
Also check didn't show any issue.
What are the further troubleshooting that I can take to investigate the issue
    Thanks a lot
    Luca Pozzoli

Hello, we have similar problem which we discuss in thread Calendar not syncing on iPhones
with iOS 8.x.x. We manage to open case to Microsoft, but we not find issues at Exchange side. So we discuss option to open case at Apple.
Reset sync (remove and add sync profile) on device solve problem only temporary.
Hello, we currently encounter some problems with Exchange Active Sync (EAS) with iOS devices.
We manage to find some cases, when meetings are not updated properly in EAS connected devices after complaints from user side. This devices are heavily used by higher management, so we
take this as our priority to solve as IT department.
Broken scenarios which we manage to identify are based on situations when mailbox “Manager” has set delegated access rights to his calendar “Assistant” with Outlook:
Manager create long recurring meeting in his calendar. Assistant open and change one occurrence date or time. This occurrence is not synced to device and stay in original date and time. – FAIL
Assistant create long recurring meeting in Manager calendar. Manager open and change one occurrence date
or time. This occurrence is synced to device properly. – OK
Manager create long recurring meeting in his calendar. Assistant open and change one occurrence date or time. Manager open and change same one occurrence date or time. This occurrence is not synced to device and
stay in original date and time with first change from Assistant. – FAIL
Assistant create long recurring meeting in Manager calendar. Manager open and change one occurrence date or time. Assistant open and change same one occurrence date or time. This occurrence is synced to device properly
and stay in original date and time with first change from Manager – FAIL
We also find out that the last two scenarios show in Outlook calendar incorrectly from which this update came. Assistant see that change was made by him. Manager see that change was made
by him. But time is same in both.
In OWA are meetings displayed properly. Also if we reset account on device, it syncs properly last change. Side problems is, if this meeting is broken this way, is broken also reply’s for
another’s persons which are invited to meeting.
    Our environment:
Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3 with Update Rollup 7
Office 2010 Professional Plus Service Pack 2 with all updates from Microsoft Update
iOS devices with current latest update 8.1.1
We tested turn off Outlook Cached Mode and make test with EAS sync logs, but we don’t find anything strange based on
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563324. It seems as error at 7.1.
    We also find article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3015401 but it states different problems. We run Exchange Calendar Repair Assistant, and mailbox repair and move to another database, but without success.
We tested also Windows Phone and Google Android devices with this scenario, but there was no problem and meetings was updated correctly. It seems to be only problem with iOS devices.
Now we want to test, if we encounter this behavior also with Office 365 Exchange Online. If there will be no problem, we will try to push fast to migrate there.
In environment wad one only minor changes by regularly patching Outlook clients and Exchange server. We encounter this problem mostly after upgrading iOS to version 7 or higher with one
person only. After upgrading to iOS problem start go even bigger and all manager encounter him.
After finishing tests with Office 365 we have this matrix of situations and resolution on device end:
    Exchange (On-Premise 2010)
    Test 1:
Manager > Change Assistant = Problem with iOS
Assistant > Change Manager = OK
    Test 2:
Manager > Change Assistant > Change Manager = Problem with iOS
Assistant > Change Manager > Change Assistant = Problem with iOS
    Test 3:
Manager > Change Manager mobile > OK
Assistant > Change Manager mobile > Problem with iOS
    Office 365 (Cloud 2013)
    Test 1:
Manager > Change Assistant = OK
Assistant > Change Manager = OK, only attendants with Windows Phone see right time of changes meeting only with acceptance first invite.
    Test 2:
Manager > Change Assistant > Change Manager = Problem with iOS, only attendants with Windows Phone see right time of changes meeting only with acceptance first invite. If they don’t
accept, changes are not synced properly.
Assistant > Change Manager > Change Assistant = Problem with iOS, only attendants with Windows Phone see right time of changes meeting only with acceptance first invite. If they don’t
accept, changes are not synced properly.
    Test 3:
Manager > Change Manager mobile > OK, iOS warn, that we changing recurring appointment, also WP and Android.
Assistant > Change Manager mobile > OK, iOS warn, that we changing recurring appointment, also WP and Android. But Android change it incorrectly.

  • Error when i trying to Preview Data in some database (Essbase 11.1.2.2)

I made Rapid Deployment of essbase as described in this article(but i chose Oracle Database 11g EE)
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_essbase_rapid_deploy_1112200/epm_essbase_rapid_deploy_1112200.html
There were no errors in installation and Diagnostics. I started EAS, connected to essbase server, saw all default applications, but when i was trying to preview data it was an error:
    Cannot Connect to Essbase Server.
    Error:(1042003): Network Error [11001]:
Failed to retrieve name information for
    [EssbaseCluster-1]
    What is it?
    Opmn is starting...
I havent fount the describtion of this error...
    Thanx for helping

    Hi Sri,
Please look into the below forum.. Hope it might help you...

    Ref: http://www.network54.com/Forum/58296/thread/1185858760/Unable+to+Load+Database
The best solution I have found so far is to stop the application and delete or rename all .ind, .pag, .esm and .tct files for the troubled database and restart the application.
It will create these files from scratch and you can load your data.
Note: Please take the necessary backup before trying..
    Thanks

  • How to configure an account to have only debit balances

    Hi
How can I configure a GL Account to always have only debit balance or zero balance. It should reject any transaction which will lead to a credit balance.
The scenario is petty cash accounting in which I want to map a GL account as a petty cash account. Since Petty cash account cannot have a credit balance, I want to prevent this account from having credit balance. Is this possible? how?
    Regards
    Ramaswamy

On a similar note, is it possible to manually configure iPhone to connect to Exchange ActiveSync if EAS also requires client authentication?
I am able to configure the iPhone to connect to EAS if I use the iPhone Configuration Utility to package the PKCS #12 message and the Exchange connection information. However, I can't for the life of me figure out how to get iPhone to work with EAS if I install a PKCS #12 over-the-air and manually create an Exchange connection. There doesn't seem to be anything on the iPhone user interface that allows one to associate a PKCS #12 with an EAS connection's client authentication requirement.
Has anyone managed to manually create an Exchange connection and get it to sync with EAS if EAS requires client authentication?
