OutlookSoft annual conference

It looks like SAP isn't going to continue OutlookSoft's annual conferences. I thought they would integrate OS into SAP Sapphire, but i couldn't find BPC on the agenda. Does anybody have any info on the subject?
Thanks,
Roman

There will be a few BPC related items at Sapphire.  I found 4.  I have heard they do not intend to continue the OSoft conference.

    Thierry,
I am curious to know about Fusion. I heard that Oracle Reports and Forms will not be used from R12 onwards. Is it so ?
And anything new that we need to improve ourselves against the Fusion Application ?
Any interesting new features for HRMS in Fusion ?

  • ASUG 2008 Annual Conference, request for info

    All,
I am very excited about the upcoming ASUG 2008 Annual Conference in Orlando, May 4 - 7, and I hope to see many of you there.  For registration info, please visit:
    http://www.asugannualconference.com/
Meanwhile, we are planning a new session, 'How to Manage Organizational Change in WF/BPM-Enabled Organizations'... quite a lengthy title, but a very important topic.  As a workflow developer and administrator, I constantly struggle with users who transfer and no longer want to perform the workitems left in their queue, users who want substitutes set up (but refuse to log on), and other organizational/infrastructure issues.
It would be great if you could post your thoughts, questions, and concerns (or even your solutions!) to these type of issues.  For example, if you are running multiple platforms (4.6 and SRM, or whatever) how do you ensure consistency in the assignment of substitutes across platforms ?  What part does the HR organization play in managing the creation of new users ?  Transfers ?  Terminations ?
We have many other exciting sessions planned for this conference, so I hope you will make plans to attend.
    Cheers,
    Sue

As far as sharing material, ASUG has a non-disclosure agreements, which prohibits me from sharing the materials to the world at large.  I agree that it would be nice to share ASUG presentations with everyone here at SDN/BPX, but I am not allowed to do so.
Thanks for the pointer about stickiness.

The 2006 ASUG Annual Conference will be held May 14 - 17 in Orlando.
The call for speakers has been open for a while now and will close on 11/21. If you have a topic that you would like to present at conference, I encourage you to submit your abstract before the deadline.
I encourage everyone who has given a presentation in the past, whether at Annual conference, at one of the forums or during an outreach call to consider giving a presentation at the 2006 conference. I also encourage those of you who have not had the opportunity to share with the ASUG community to also consider submitting an abstract.

  • Usability Testing : My #1 "Value-Add" at ASUG Annual Conference & SAPPHIRE

There are dozens of reasons to go to ASUG Annual Conference & SAPPHIRE every year -SAP Education, Networking, Best-Practices and "Real World" SAP Customer Stories and Lessons Learned can easily fill your day...BUT my #1 "Value-Add" every year is to carve-out some time to take part in SAP Usability Testing sessions.
It is a great opportunity to get "Hands-On" with Future-Releases of SAP Products, and help guide the User Experience of SAP tools.
SAP Usability Testing sessions run for 60-minutes, and need to be booked in Advance, as you need to sign some non-disclosure and feedback documents.
You are partnered-up with another Customer/Client of SAP and walked through some different scripted-scenarios (eg. Enter a Travel Approval Request, Run a Report for your Division, etc) based on the Module that you are looking at. There are a couple of SAP staff with you - and they are also recording your Mouse-Clicks, Screen-Captures and everything you say as you walk-through the process.
This Feedback process is REAL - and it actually works to improve future SAP tools. Suggestions that we made about SAP Business Object Central Management Console in 2011, became the SAP BOBJ BI 4.1 System Configuration Wizard in 2013.
Sometimes there are "follow-up" calls (or web sessions) after the Conference where the team will show you how the processes have been changed since your SAP Usability Testing session.
The Full-List of SAP Usability Testing sessions in Orlando is listed below...Sign-up Early as Spaces are LIMITED.
    Topic Overview:
    1. Ariba® Network Spot Buy
    2. BI Reporting and Analytics App for Mobile
    3. Common Visualization Object Modeler, Business Charting Library: Business Data Visualization
    4. Rounds Management on Smart Glasses
    5. SAP Design and Prototyping Tools
    6. SAP Fiori® Apps for the Contract Account Manager
    7. SAP Fiori Next Generation Concepts
    8. SAP Fiori Object Page and Draft Handling
    9. SAP Fiori Overview Page
    10. SAP Fiori Wizard and Notifications Concept
    11. SAP Mobile Place (Cloud Solution)
    12. SAP Multichannel Foundation for Utilities with Simplified and Engaging Out-of-the-Box B2C Apps
    13. SAP S/4HANA – Runtime Authoring for SAP S/4HANA
    14. SAP S/4HANA Social Media Integration – Social Timeline for SAP S/4HANA applications
    15. SAP Screen Personas 3.0

    17. SAP Simple Finance – Simple Payments
    18. SAP Smart Business for the Internet of Things
    19. SuccessFactors® Employee Central – Global Benefits

  • Design Studio 1.3 - Concern

    Hello Community,
With the release of Design studio 1.3 - the client expectation has gone up. There are few question that need to be addressed.
How feasible is Design Studio 1.3 over SAP Dashboard designer in adopting and in implementation ?
If the client is having only BW with them without any BI/BOBJ landscape in picture, can design studio 1.3 be a wiser choice over Dashboard designer? If Yes then why ?
In BW landscape what need to be done to get mobile access of design studio dashboard ?
Does Design studio support Data caching for offline report access and for faster report access - considering back-end as BW not running on SAP HANA ?
How complex is the coding with respect to custom development ?
    Awaiting detailed answers.
    Regards
    Kumar

    Kumar:
How feasible is Design Studio 1.3 over SAP Dashboard designer in adopting and in implementation ?
It depends on your requirements and needs.  SAP has said many times this year if your data source is BW, HANA or a universe that Design Studio supports, start with Design Studio.  Otherwise, per SAP, you have an automatic migration project.
Q: "If the client is having only BW with them without any BI/BOBJ landscape in picture, can design studio 1.3 be a wiser choice over Dashboard designer? If Yes then why ?"
A: How would they use Dashboard Designer in BW only?  Where would they deploy?  Not following.
See previous answer re: automatic migration project if you start with dashboarding on BW.
Q: In BW landscape what need to be done to get mobile access of design studio dashboard ?
A: BW only? Question came up at ASUG Annual Conference. In the SAP Enterprise portal there is a Design Studio iview and a portal mobility pack
Q: Does Design studio support Data caching for offline report access and for faster report access - considering back-end as BW not running on SAP HANA ?
A: It does not support offline today.
    Q: How complex is coding?
A: I am not a coding expert, but I am able to apply SDK components.  We heard customers at conference say they deploy without coding too.  If you know JavaScript, you will be comfortable with Design Studio is what I have heard.

  • Image rotation working in template, but nowhere else

    Hi,
    I'm relatively new to Dreamweaver.
I have a page with some rotating images, created following a Communitymx recommendation (http://www.communitymx.com/content/article.cfm?cid=651FF).
The website template (http://www.johnaverill.com/templates/main_template.dwt) seems to rotate images perfectly; however, image rotation on index.html and the others will not work.
Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Paul

    osgood_
ah, you are correct.  sorry, I didn't catch that I was i am just posting the same old apparent bad code (index.html).
I did create index_2.html and rename it to index.html per your instructions of Mar 5 (i've actually done it twice now). Pictures not rotating with the index_2 or the new index.html either.
Also noticed recreating the index continues to get me the extra:
    function randomImages(){
    if(counter == (imgs.length)){
    counter = 0;
the template seems to be putting this in there new index for some reason.
    New index here:

<p align="justify">Welcome, this is an online bio for John C. Averill.  This site also has a description of my capabilities, services offered and successes</p>
      <p align="justify">FIDUCIARY ROLE</p>
<p align="justify">My team and I take our  fiduciary role as insurance brokers and risk consultants seriously. I am held  accountable to a select group of risk management professionals who have an  enormous amount of wisdom and knowledge about the property and casualty insurance  world, providing my team and me consistent guiding principles. Due to our  fiduciary role, we do not publicize our clients list but we do have several letters  from clients on file as part of this site, see Client Testimonials.</p>
      <p align="justify">CONFIDENCE IN THE PROCESS</p>
<p align="justify">The process of  designing a risk management strategy and purchasing insurance should be  comprehensive. The focus should be on pre-engineering claims payments. You should have  total confidence in your broker and insurance company. After a claim has  occurred is not the time to second guess the dollars you spent on insurance  premiums and the commissions or fees you paid a broker. </p>
      <p align="justify">PHILOSOPHY</p>
<p align="justify">Our philosophy and  goal is to never have a client have an uncovered claim that he / she failed to insure. We have developed   processes and procedures to determine exposures, forecast claims and efficiently  purchase the needed insurance coverage.</p>

  • Spry tabbed panels display

I have Spry Tabbed panels and all my content is suddenly displaying in the first, default tab.  Also, the turquoise "Spry Tabbed Panels" is missing from the top of my widget. This has happened on three different pages so far, and all I have found is that I must insert a new tabbed panel.  My <div> codes all match up, so I'm stumped.  Any help would be really appreciated.

  • ODTUG 2006

With ODTUG Kaleidoscope 2006 right around the corner, I thought it would be interesting to see who from the Forums will be attending.
For those who don't know, ODTUG is the Oracle Development Tools Users Group. Their annual conference will be in my backyard this year - Washington, DC, at the Wardman Park Marriott, just south of the National Zoo. The conference runs from 17-JUN through 21-JUN.
Hope to see some of you there!
    Thanks,
    - Scott -

    Hi All,
    I will be attending.
It will be great to meet some of you in person. We can get together to share ApEx insights, tips and tricks etc. It should be fun.
    Cheers,
    Patrick Cimolini
