OutlookSyncClient.exe error message and iTunes 7.3.2

Hi All,
I have Windows XP and MS Outlook 2003. My MS Outlook 2003 calendar has never sync to the iPhone or ITunes. I was able to synch form my iPod. Does anyone have some helpful hints? I was able to sync my contacts from Yahoo.
I tried almost all of the items in the Apple KB article 305845.
-- Martin

I was able to sync successfully with 7.3.2, and then I started getting the OutlookSyncClient error message. Here's how I worked around it:
I went to Edit->Preferences->iPhone and clicked Reset Sync History. Then I want to the Info tab of the iphone in iTunes and I scrolled to the bottom and checked "Calendar" and "Contacts" under the Replace information on this iPhone section. Then I did a sync. It worked fine, and everything syncs now.
Some people have reported that 7.3.2 is corrupting their Outlook data. As a precatuion I disconnected my network cable -- all of my data is stored on a server and I can just blow away my OST file should iTunes destroy it. If you're using PST files so all your data is local, you'd be wise to back it up first. I didn't have a problem, but a helping of paranoia here is probably a good thing.

  • Error message  - and iTunes will not play anything at all

After scouring forums for similar issues, I have tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of iTunes with MacAfee firewall disabled. Nada. iTunes starts with an error message saying 'Configuration error, audio and video files may not play back correctly' (or similar). Library comes up and I can see my recent purchases, but nothing will play. Frustrating to say the least.
I am Windows 7, I have McAfee and Malwarebytes running.
What else can I try? This is extra infuriating as I have just purchased five albums of new music.

  • The instructiion at 0x5de7cfe3 referenced memory at 0x00000004.  The memory could not be read. I keep getting this error message, and iTunes keeps opening automatically.

I upgraded to 10.5 last weekend, and since then my iTunes keeps popping open.  I get the error message above, but sometimes the first "code" is different, the last time it was 0x6473cfe3 instead.  So irritating....

Try updating your QuickTime Player to the most recent version. Does that clear up the launch errors in iTunes?

  • ***? Error message and itunes not opening

I just installed iTunes, and it will not open. I get an error message saying:
"The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder."
What does this mean and why exactly is is popping up? How do I fix the problem so I can open iTunes? I've been surfing the net for about 4 hours trying to find solutions and can't find anything. I'm getting aggravated.
    Please help!!
P.S. I've unistalled both iTunes and QuickTime, reinstalled them both first as a combo pack then separately, restarted my computer several times, and made sure everything wasn't a "read only" file. Nothing seems to work.

  • Error Messages and iTunes

I have been using iTunes for years, but have recently been encountering several problems since upgrading to a new tower. A computer geek friend of mine (his term, not mine)transferred everything from the old tower to the new one. I have no issues with iTunes opening, playing music on my computer or purchasing music BUT only some of my files will sync with my Nano. I can buy two new songs and one will sync and the other will not...and I always get the erroe message "iPod cannot be synced. The required folder cannot be found". I attempted to restore the Nano to the factory settings but received the error message "firmware file could not be found". My Nano is being recognized by iTunes (the library pulls up, you can view it under devices etc.) but something is obviously wrong and I can't figure it out. Do I uninstall iTunes and reinstall? Will I risk losing music that way? Any help would be much appreciated!

Interesting ... it looks like two different problems at once.
    The first message:
"iPod cannot be synced. The required folder cannot be found".
... I tend to associate with photo syncing. Are you set up to do any photo syncing to the nano? If so, perhaps try deleting your photo cache as per the instructions in the following document:
[iTunes: Photo sync creates iPod Photo Cache folder|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314]
Can you sync without that error after deleting the photo cache?
I attempted to restore the Nano to the factory settings but received the error message "firmware file could not be found".
That can be produced by a damage .ipsw file ... in the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you tried the following document?
[What to do if iPod can't be updated because the firmware file was corrupt or not found|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1813]

  • ITunes will not open (no error message and not running Norton 2005)

I have recently upgraded to iTunes 7 and I now cannot get it to open after clicking on the icon. The iTunes.exe process comes up in the task manager briefly then disappears. There is NO accompanying error message and I am NOT running Norton Antivirus 2005. I have already tried reinstalling the standalone version of quicktime and I have used msconfig so that I essentially have only the necessary iTunes/quicktime processes running (no antivirus/antispyware/anti-popup software is running in the background). I have Windows 2000 and I have never had a problem with iTunes until now. Somebody please help me out here.

    wapierce,
It looks like we have covered all the bases here. Unfortunatly it looks like The computer cannot run iTunes or the OS has an issue that may require a reeinstall.
Lets verify the Hardware and OS one more time. Click Start> right click My Computer> Properties(you can also open My Computer then click view system information on the left side of the window.) What does the processor and Memory say here? Also what is it saying aout Windows.
Make sure there are no upadtes available for the computer.
When you installed iTunes did you make any registry changes? It sounds like the next step would be doing a restore or re-install of Windows on the computer.

    Many thanks.
With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I want to Sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes however I get an error message from iTunes each time I connect the phone to the PC saying that I should restore to factory settings. Frustrating because it's already annoying enough that I can't drag and drop mp3's!!!

I have never been so frustrated before in my life with any phone. I find it obnoxious as it is that I cannot simply drag and drop files (especially MP3's) straight from my PC directly into my phone, which I have been used to doing up until now. Everyone who convinced me to get the iPhone has instructed me that my frustration can be fixed by downloading iTunes and syncing it all up via that program (which I have never used before). So, I downloaded the program successfully, however when I connect the iPhone 4 to the PC and iTunes is open, I get an error message that 'iTunes cannot read the content of the iPhone "iPhone" and that I should go to the Preferences tab of the iPhone and select 'restore' to restore this phone to factory settings. First of all, I don't understand why I need to do that. I have already downloaded apps and other important things in the 2 days that I have the phone. I am also scared that it will erase my contacts. This is such a headache. Music is very imporatant to me, but I am getting so frustrated that I don't have freedom over the phone which I thought was supposed to be one of the best out there. I would really appreciate help in this matter. I am sure the phone is great but I am on the verge of taking it back and getting something else.

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    or here:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Perhaps check to see if you're accidentally running two different versions of iTunes. There's some information on troubleshooting that in the Opening iTunes section of the following document:

You are not able to view purchase history on your iOS device.  You may only re-download previous purchases from the iOS device.
