Output controller question

Hi,
In the output controller (sp01), when i select a spool request and click on the print icon, i see a message "output request created". Instead i want to see a pop up window that shows parameters like 'Print immediately' etc. Please suggest.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Check in the O/p type --> Default values --> If send immediately when saving the applicaton is selected or not. If not select that option.
Also check in condition records Time shoould be option 4 send immediately while saving the application.
Then try SP01. It should work.

Sivanand

  • Oracle Reports 10.1.2.3 output shows question marks, parameter form shows correct Arabic

    Hi
    Following is our environment
    Oracle Application Server     10.1.2.3.0
Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition Service Pack 2
    Oracle Database 11.2.0.2.0
    NLS_LANG     AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSWIN1256
When client runs the report on browser (IE), the parameter form appears fine with Arabic characters.
Inserting the parameters in Arabic also look fine and characters display in Arabic but when report is generated, the output shows the inserted parameters as ????
On server, regional settings are ALL Arabic. Also the registry has NLS_LANG setting of AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSWIN1256.
Report output is same for both html and pdf formats. For PDF subetting, uifont.ali file has been modified but the issue does not seem to be PDF related since the html format reports also shows ???
It is a 3 tier setup hence there is no question of having NLS_LANG registry settings for client PCs that are running Windows OS with Arabic regional settings that match the server.
Interestingly, the same report when run from a different application server having same architecture runs fine. The other application server has exact same version of OAS. Database supports Arabic and is configured as such.I tried comparing the different configuration files on both servers but apparently I cannot find the place where I should change something for the reports to show correct Arabic.
    SELECT * FROM NLS_PARAMETERS
    WHERE parameter IN ('NLS_CHARACTERSET','NLS_LANGUAGE');
    NLS_LANGUAGE
    AMERICAN
    NLS_CHARACTERSET
    AR8MSWIN1256
I am writing this after doing quite some research but seems like I am unable to find a solution to this.
    Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you Paul for your reply.
I think you misunderstood me. I understand that it is all volunteer work and I never said I was looking for "quick" or "sure" response. I did not even use the words IMMEDIATE or URGENT in my post. I found it strange because I personally believe that there are many volunteers providing great support to others and yet my post somehow went unnoticed. In my personal opinion, however, if you do not wish to reply then you should just ignore rather than being rude. No one can force anyone to do the good work that people are doing here at oracle forums and they are all doing this out of choice. Let me also assure you that me and people like myself really appreciate their efforts.
Having said that, I wish you had taken time to read about my issue. There is infact a registry setting that specifies the NLS_LANG and it is already set under both Infrastructure and Middle Tier in the registry. I mentioned it earlier. The value is AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSWIN1256 and I believe this is correct for Arabic characters.
What is confusing for me is the fact that if browser was not capable of showing Arabic characters then the static Arabic words in the reports layout (field name for instance) would also show as garbage or question marks. They appear to be fine. Since we are just passing some parameters in Arabic language and not saving anything in the database, the DB characterset does not come into play for now. Although the DB characterset is also set to store Arabic data. We are displaying the parameters that we are passing through the parameter form in the output of the report and this is where we see question marks (????).
Finally, if it was a browser issue or a DB characterset issue, then in my limited knowledge, I believe that the report that we are running using the other Application Server that is pointing to the same database should also show the same behaviour. That is not the case as it displays the same report perfectly. Client machine is the same in both cases using Windows 7 and IE as browser.
http://appserver1/reports/rwservlet?admin/myreport           (connecting to db1)    works fine
http://appserver2/reports/rwservlet?admin/myreport          (connecting to db1)     show question marks
Above URLs are examples. The point I am trying to make here is that the issue has to be with the new application server and it cannot be registry settings as I have double checked the entry and it exists in all Oracle Homes ie Infrastructure and Middle Tier. So maybe it is some configuration file setting that I am missing here.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Handling unit output determination questions

I have configured a new output type for a custom label we need to implement for handling units.   It is assigned as V6, for Ship-to Party/Shipping Material.
In VL01N or VL02N, I am able to create the handling units and pack the delivery line item materials into them.
I am able to manually assign the output type to the handling unit in VL01N/VL02N, but have not been successful in getting the output type to auto populate.  I have verified that it is not populated after packing the HU and saving from VL01N, or when doing from VL02N, or after PGI.
I have been searching the forums and have not found the answers I need.
    1.  Is it possible for the output type to automatically populate for a handling unit?  If so, at what point should this happen?  I would think based on how our custom label output types for delivery documents behave, it would assign after save from either VL01N or VL02N.
    2.  When I create the HU, I specify a VERP packaging material number that represents the carton in order to create the HU.  I do not have the material on the sales order or delivery as a line-item, and I am not getting any error messages indicating that it should be.
If this should work the way we expect it to, any suggestions on what I have overlooked that would prevent my output type from automatically assigning?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Dave

    Hi Joan,
Thank you for your answers.  They were most helpful.  I was finally able to get the new Output Type to assign after I created the HU's and saved the delivery.
Hopefully you won't mind if I ask some related questions.
    1.  If I went to VL02N for a delivery where I had already created the handling unit, it did not automatically get the Output Type assigned when I saved.  (Like it does for our delivery based labels when I add a user in NACE that previously wasn't identified to get the label.)   Is this the normal behavior for HU-based output or am I still missing something in my setup?
    2. I did the VHAR step and specified both the Output Determination Procedure and the Output Type of my new label,as suggested.   This did work once I finally tested by creating a new HU for a delivery, rather than checking an existing delivery/HU.  Is entering the Output Type here critical?  If another customer has a different label format, I think assigning the Output Type here this will cause a problem for us.  (I haven't had a chance to change the config to remove this and see if the Output assigns based on references elsewhere, now that I know it seems to assign only when the HU is initially created.)
    Thanks again!
    Dave

  • Windows Server Primary & Secondary Domain Controller Question

Right now the DHCP is assigning 192.168.200.1 (DNS server) and 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS) as DNS servers for each client. I don't necessarilly want to change these assignment settings,Yes, you do. This is absolutely the worst thing you can ever do with DNS. More details why here -> Ramblings of a Sysadmin: How to do DNS correctly
Primary and secondary DNS should ALWAYS be internal.
Your DNS Servers should use FORWARDERS go go out to google. That's the only place that should see google DNS servers in your environment.

Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to listen.
I have successfully implemented an Active Directory setup using a Primary DC and a Secondary DC with Windows Server 2012 R2.
EL1 is my PDC and EL2 is my BDC.
Active Directory is in sync among the two Domain Controllers. Here is my question:
If I were to have a policy (Group Policy) that sets the wallpaper of each client machine to whatever is in the "\\EL1\Wallpaper\wp.jpg" - what would happen if I were to have that Domain Controller fail? That directory is no longer available due to the outage - even though the Backup Domain Controller will still be pushing out the policy (pointing to the down server).
My idea was to have that directory replicated on the Backup Domain Controller, "\\EL2\Wallpaper\wp.jpg" however - the policy will still be looking for the file in the Primary Domain...

  • Upgrading Domain Controller Questions

Hello, we currently have 2 domain controllers in our environment, both with Server 2003 R2. We are looking to upgrade them one at a time to 2008 R2 but I have some questions.
    Here's the environment:
Server 1 (the one we are going to upgrade first):
    Server 2003 R2
    Domain Controller
    DHCP Server
    DNS Server
Server 2 (we will be upgrading this in the near future but not just yet):
    Server 2003 R2
    Domain Controller
    DHCP Server
    DNS Server
File Server with most of the company data
We also have DNS replication set up between the two servers.
    My questions:
Will we run into any issues having two domain controllers with different Operating Systems?
We would like for the domain controllers to keep the same names and IP's. Any issues with that?
How will we stop, then re-setup DNS replication between the two servers?
Any other 'gotcha's' we should be aware of?
    Dan Chandler-Klein

I don't see any reason why not keeping old name and IP.
Before upgrading make sure AD has no issues:
look at the event viewer, run DCDiag, replication runs clean (repadmin /showrepl) etc.
    OS has no warning/errors.
Not  must but I would move the FSMO roles to another DC before demote.
Make sure applications installed on the new DC's (AV\Backup agents etc.)  support Windows 2008 R2 OS.
Make sure all your network applications in your environment support working with Windows 2008 R2 DC - I recommend test it in lab first.
Make sure that the DC you are about to demote not holding CA role.
    Most important:
Make sure you successfully demote the old DC and no records left in DNS.
I'm not agree with evrimicelli about DC's naming and I wouldn't go for CNAME record - this can get you in many troubles in the future.
after demote the old DC, I would rename it or remove it from the domain, than you can rename the new server with old Dc name and promote it to DC with old DCs' IP address.
I didn't understand the question about DNS replication.
What kind of DNS zone do host?  if its AD integrated (and thats what you should have), you don't need to configure any replication, AD integrated DNS zone replicate as part of AD replication between your two DC's.

  • Cisco Aironet 3502i and Virtual Wireless Controller- Question

    Hello everyone,
As soon, I purchased two Cisco 3502i and Cisco 1142 however, two issue are that I don't have controller and smartnet. As my purpose, it using for Home Use but house with 2,500 Sq ft with two floor and new 24x24ft garage with two floor. I put two Cisco 3502i for garage and one cisco 1142 in house on second floor. Separated for multi media, gaming, streaming high resolution video, parts, and downloads programmings online. It will run with Cisco Catalyst Express 500 with 24 ports (4 POE) and two gigabit ports. In house, it have Dell Poweredge 2850, Cisco Catalyst Express 500 with 24 ports POE and 2 ports gigabit.
I thought to make my own developing with my first time using Wireless Controller. I wanted to try out with Virtual WLC on Dell Poweredge 2850 running ESXi 4.1.
    Specs for Dell Poweredge 2850:
    - 2x Intel Xeon Dual Core 3.8 GHz
    - 4GB RAM (Will upgrade to 12GB soon)
    - 2x 146GB and 2x 36GB SCSI
    - 2x 1 Gbps built in and 4x 1 Gbps PCI-X
Developing with Untangle and pfSense to make it support with LADP and VLAN to both Cisco Express 500 using 4 gbps PCI-X. I have read the requipment list to use Virtual WLC but it seem met the requipment for my 2850. If someone offer me to get Virtual WLC and IOS from their, I accept to "borrow" it. I do go college which is Rochester Institute of Technology at New York and my major is Applied Computer Technology. I live here at Hampton Road, Virginia. Just in case if you might know about RIT. I just start to learning myself with Cisco books.
    I have a question:
    - Is there possible to get trial or full version of Virtual WLC?
    - Is there possible to get Lightweight or Autonomous IOS for Cisco 1142 and 3502i?
    -  Does it supported Dell PowerEdge 2850?
    - Does 3502i support Autonomous? (Not actually but I have researched around online about that it will work with 1262's IOS)
    Thanks

    I have a question:
    - Is there possible to get trial or full version of Virtual WLC?
No.  You will need a SmartNet contract (or a freshly purchased device) to obtain software from cisco.  Nobody will provide this to you.

No.  You will need a SmartNet contract (or a freshly purchased device) to obtain software from cisco.

    -  Does it supported Dell PowerEdge 2850?
Cisco doesn't go in to great detail regarding the actual Hardware requirements of the vWLC (as far as ESX Host requirements).  Primarily, making sure you are running ESX 4.x/5.x is necessary.  The vWLC provisions 2Gb of RAM and 8GB of thick provisioned storage, so if your host can accomodate I don't see any reason it wouldn't work.
    - Does 3502i support Autonomous? (Not actually but I have researched around online about that it will work with 1262's IOS)
Yes, with the latest versions of IOS 15.2(2)JB, full functionality in autonomous can be achieved on the 1550, 3500, and 3600 series APs

  • PID VI - Output Range Question

I have a question concerning the PID VI and it's output range option.
"What is gained or lost from using 0-100 versus -100 to 100 for a default output range?"
    My application:
My application provides the PID VI a setpoint and a process variable, both in degrees Celsius. I see that the output from the VI has a default range of -100 to 100. The power supply that I want to power accepts an input range of 0.0035 - 0.020 mV.
If I simply enter that range into the VI, the output is either zero or 0.020.
I can get other values if I use the larger scale and then convert them to the smaller numbers. I am trying to decide between using the range 0 - 100 or going with the default range of -100 to 100 and simply cutting off anything below zero in the conversion to mV. What is gained or lost from using 0-100 versus -100 to 100 for a default output range?
    Thank you

Here is an example of the four situations.

  • Sequence and Output Settings Question

    Hello all,
I'm know this is a rookie question, but it's often hard to find a definitive answer to these types of things.
    Here's my specific situation:
99% of my final output will be SD NTSC DVD-progressive for corporate shows, and I create almost all of my own content, or use stock animations from companies like Digital Juice. Rarely do I ever deal with DV captured from tape.
Given the final output, and given that my generated media can be basically whatever codec I want, what's the best sequence settings to use in FCP, and the best way to output it for nice, crisp, progressive DVD playback?
    Thanks!
    SyddyS

Mac Pro 2x3.0 Dual, 4GB Memory, ATI Radeon 1900
Also, on another note, I'm currently in a REALLY rare situation for me where I'm recording to DV tape. Everything looks great except for all titling created by FCP. Does FCP titling just suck? Anything in red or green hues has vertical lines running through it.
    Thanks!

  • Output type question

    Hi Friends,
I need your help. Currently I need to analyse what are the output types for print output and fax on production. I did that and I noticed that the Output type is NEU for both the mediums, i.e Print output and Fax.
My questions is if NEU is the o/p type for both, then how do we differentiate that a supplier should be only faxed, or only emailed, or both ?? What setting/ config could it be ?
    Your ideas will be appreciated.
    Many Thanks,
    Max

    @ kalyan Gorla -
Sorry but this is not what I am looking for. Let me explain once again.
I have a production system right now in which NEU is being used for both Print and Fax at the same time. i want to know how are these both being used at the same time. for example, I have a purchase order with 2 output types in the message tab. i.e NEU with print and NEU with fax. Now in our project we want to use this NEU but the business requirement is to just send a  print and not fax by using NEU to the suppliuer. So I want to understand how are 2 NEUs being used at the same time.

  • Vbscript for sending output of question by emails

    Hi,
I need a script that will have several questions , and i want to take the answers and send it by email(using outlook software) in the body and not with file attached .
I got a script to the questions and answers , and i have the script of sending an email with outlook , i just dont know how to link the output to the body.
here are the example i own (suggestions and adjustments will be welcomed):
    script for the mail :
       Set objOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
       Set objMail = objOutlook.CreateItem(0)
       objMail.Display   'To display message
       objMail.Recipients.Add ("*****@****.**.**")
       objMail.Subject = "Mail Subject"
objMail.Body = "This is Email Body"
       objMail.Send
       Set objMail = Nothing
       Set objOutlook = Nothing
    script 1 for q/a :
    Const ForReading = 1, ForWriting = 2, ForAppending = 8, CreateIfNeeded = true
    set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
set file = fso.OpenTextFile("output.txt", ForAppending, CreateIfNeeded)
    dim fname
    fname = inputbox("Hi! What's your name?")
    dim fname2
    fname2 = inputbox("And what is your job ?")
    file.write fname
    file.write fname2
    file.close
    script2 for q/a :
' Input Box with a Title
      a=InputBox("question1","Enter Value")
      msgbox a
' Input Box with a Title
      a=InputBox("question2","Enter Value")
      msgbox a
' Input Box with a Title
      a=InputBox("question3","Enter Value")
      msgbox a
' Input Box with a Title
      a=InputBox("question4","Enter Value")
      msgbox a
' Input Box with a Title
      a=InputBox("question?","Enter Value")
      msgbox a

    Here you go:
    'Input Box with a Title
    sText = InputBox("question1","Enter Value") & vbCrLf
    'Input Box with a Title
    sText = sText & InputBox("question2","Enter Value") & vbCrLf
    etc.
Now put your E-Mail code here, including this line:
    objMail.Body = sText

  • Multiple USB keyboard controller question

hey everyone ... Happy new year by the way !
quick question .. i want to use 2 USB controllers to play one source ( software synth )
I have a USB audio interface with a midi keyboard  controller patched in the mdi input jack and would like to use another USB keyboard ( in another available USB port ) to access the same source track .
When I record enable the track with the instrument , my midi controller can the synth but the USB one won't
I checked the audio midi setup utility and coreMidi recognizes both midi inputs but Logic Pro X won't
Does this has to be set up through the environment window of Logic ? I thought that coreMidi would take care of things automatically for me .
    thanks for your help !

    Hi
Under normal circumstances, 2 keyboards that show up OK in Audio MIDI Setup should work fine.
In Audio MIDI Setup (MIDI Window), click the "Test Setup" button and play some notes on each keyboard. You should see a blue flash on the Interface Icons in AMS, and you should hear a beep through the System Audio when you release the keys. (Turn this off when done).
In Logic, check the MIDI transmission channels of each keyboard (some instrument plugs are channel-sensitive).

  • Fan controller question

This is probably a quick and stupid question, I am running some vantec 80mm tornadoes which are a bit loud. Well actually if you can imagine a boeing 737's engines powering up you know how load these fans are. Seriously though they are about 71 Dcb. So I would like to control their rpm depending on my needs. My question is, can the K7N2-ILSR only support two fans directly off the motherboard (the nb fan and cpu). And I have to buy a fan controller right? Or is there another way I am not aware of.
Im sure some people will tell me I shouldnt have bought these fans, but they really do push a lot of air,
    Thanks everyone

I have a CoolerMaster Aerogate II control box.
It looks neat, it monitors temperatures of 4 devices and you can run your fans to it and control the speeds with a dial, as longs as the fan supports speed control.
The temps are accurate, while I'm in the bios screen I saw that the Aerogate was reporting the exact same CPU temperature as the bios was, but Aerogate was refreshing faster.  (it's a real time).  I have the Aerogate's diode run underneath the heatsink, right next to the CPU die.
The Aerogate has a LED screen that's blue, and the devices are selected through "channel switches."
The Aerogate cost 45 dollars (USD).
    It's my new favorite toy.

  • Approver Determinator CUP (Controller) Question

Hello, I had a few questions when trying to use the (Controller) as Approver Determinator for our SPM work flow.
Everything is working perfectly fine using a CAD as the approver. But when I switch it over to the (Controller) I'm having some issues.
    Questions:
    1) Where would you configure the Controller's email address for approval notification? Guessing the SU01 record?  This is different from other approvers who are configured within the UME
    2) Won't the (Controller) need a CUP UME role to enter through the approval link sent out via email? Currently we only have controller in the backend ECC systems and view access to SPM reports through a UME view FF role.
    3) Do we need to run a background job to send emails for the controller in the ABAP system or just the standard one in CUP?
    Thanks!

There are "controllers" in SPM that you add to an FF_ID which then monitors logs. There is also a "controller" within the approver determinator drop down in a stage. I was wondering if these are the same. So if you use "controller" as your approver determinator for a certain FF ID in CUP will send for approval to the person define against the ID in the FF table.

  • Backup Metadata Controller Questions...

I have two questions regarding the Backup Metadat Controller for Apple's XSAN.
Question 1: Do I need to purchase an XSAN client ($999) for the Backup Metadata Controller AND the primary? I was hoping the backup used the same client as the primary.
Question 2: I'm having trouble finding the hardware requirements for the MDC. I was hoping to use a single cpu G5 Xserver as the primary and a dual G4 Xserver as the backup. We plan to only have a handful of clients and will only be working with DV-25 and Mpeg-2 files, no HD stuff here. Will these Xserves do the trick?
    Any ideas would be great!
    Thanks!

The licensing confused me at first too. Until you realize that every computer that is direct-attached to fiber and mounts the Xsan volume directly is a client and needs the software, and therefore needs a separate license. That's the way it works. Computers which connect via a re-share (AFP/NFS/SMB) do not need an extra license.
Doing a google for the Xsan mdc requirements brought up this page:

  • MSI Neo2 865PE and SCSI Controller Question

    Hi All,
Im new here so be easy on me
Anyways im currently building a new system P4 System based on the new 800FSB, i have all the parts ready, ie. CPU, DDR400 RAM, Case, Adaptec SCSI Controller, HDD etc etc, but believe it or not i havent purchased a motherboard yet. The reason being i want to get clarification that my setup will actually work with the motherboard before i go out and buy it. WHAT SETUP you ask, please read on
Now the reason im posting here is because from what i can see on the internet this is a really top notch board (best performer in the recent THG test) so naturally its one of the boards im considering.
Now to the my QUESTION: I want to use my SCSI drive connected to the Adaptec as the OS drive and boot from it. However my main concern is that the Neo2 865PE wont let me boot of the SCSI Hard Disk attached to the Adaptec SCSI 21960 controller. Ive been told that certain motherboards eg. ASUS wont detect a SCSI controller on boot up because it will only detect the onboard RAID controller as the SCSI controller, therefore not letting you use the SCSI disk at the boot device.
Can anyone ease my mind and tell me the MSI 865 Neo2 will let me do what i intend??? ie. Boot of SCSI disk.
    Any response/comments is appreciated
    Cheers

    Hi Domino,
Thanyou for testing the setup out for me.....
When you tested it did you have your onboard Intel S-ATA RAID controller enabled? because i believe this is where the problem will eventuate, when you enable the m/b's ONBOARD RAID controllers.
    Cheers
