Output Designer version 5.6  vs. 5.5

Hi there,
I am new to Output designer. I opened a .ifd file that was created in version 5.5 and tried to test presentment(the data file is a xml file) and i got error: #2210 unable to open data file. it can be successfully tested in version 5.5. Please advise.
Thanks.

Hi
I had a similar problem and was given this suggestion
Update the winmerge.ini file
When attempting to use an XML data file in Test Presentment, the error #2210 Unable to open data file will appear.
This problem occurs because several areas in the file winmerge.ini are not updated properly during installation.
You can rectify the problem by updating these areas. The file winmerge.ini is located in the Output Designer installation directory, by default C:\Program Files\Adobe\Output Designer 5.6.
The first area is in the [Paths] section.
As shipped, this section specifies:
[Paths]
ExePath=[EXEPATH]; Full path of directory holding executables
EtcPath=[SERVERDIR]; Full path of directory holding configuration files
LibPath=[EXEPATH]; Full path of directory holding DLLsUpdate the three pathing values to point to the installation directory.
For example, if you installed Output Designer to the default directory, update the [Paths] section as follows:
[Paths]ExePath=C:\Program Files\Adobe\Output Designer 5.6; Full path of directory holding executables
EtcPath=C:\Program Files\Adobe\Output Designer 5.6; Full path of directory holding configuration files
LibPath=C:\Program Files\Adobe\Output Designer 5.6; Full path of directory holding DLLs
The second area is in the [XftMdf].
As shipped, this section specifies:
[XftMdf]
JfXftMdfCommandLine=[EXEPATH]\JfXftMdf @P1. @P2.
Again, update the pathing value to point to the installation directory.
For example, if you installed Output Designer to the default directory, update the [XftMdf] section as follows:
[XftMdf]JfXftMdfCommandLine=C:\Program Files\Adobe\Output Designer 5.6\JfXftMdf @P1. @P2.

  • Adobe Output Designer Migration

    Hello,
our customer has implemented Adobe Output Designer version 5.6 in Poland. We were asked for outsourcing of their Adobe printing solution. Could somebody help us please to answer the following questions:
    1) Is it possible to migrate content of Adobe Central Output Server resp. Adobe Output Designer without physically moving hardware? If yes, how can be such migration provided?
    2) Do we need to install the same version 5.6 of the Adobe Output Designer or we can install the version 5.7 and migrate the Adobe Output Designer content?
    Thank you

  • Output Designer 5.5 and 5.6 Compatibility

    Hi,
I want to purchase the Output designer Software, just wanted to confirm few question:
    1. Files(IFD) created in Older Version like 5.2 can be opened without any problem in latest Version?
2.Can the files created in Output Designer 5.6 can be opened in Output Designer 5.5?
3.What all other software is required to create a Form based application through Output Designer(like Output Server)?
4.Is there any relation of Output Server and Output Designer Version Compatibility. What I know Output Server run the compiled file which are created by Output Designer.Does the Software version of Output Designer and Output Server should be same.
Your help will be very much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Tarun

Older files can be opened in the latest version. If the ifd is older than 5.3 and has the "Filler" aspects included, these Filler features will be removed.
I would not expect 5.5 to open a 5.6 ifd.
Output server includes printing, faxing, email, pdf, data transformation and along with the design tool is all you need to create a document generation application assuming the data is available. Output server uses a watched folder approach and will not go and get the data from a legacy application, the data must be pushed to Output Server.
Output Server will happily process forms from older versions of Output Design. They do not need to be the same version but I would not trust a 5.6 design to a 5.5 server. Upwards compatibility yes, downwards compatibility no.

  • Problema output designer y simbolo euro

  • Adobe Output Designer 5.7 or later Trail version

    Problem:
Need to convert IFD file to XDP. Using Live Cycle Designer ES2 try to import the IFD file, following error occured "To import IFD, Adobe Output Designer 5.5 or later needs to be installed".
    Need Help:
What is the current Version of Adobe Output Designer?
is there any trial version avilable for it?
is there any alternate solution for conversion of IFD to XDP?
will be greatfull if you help me to resolve this issue
    Regards,
    Srikanth.

Hello Srikanth; I will contact you separately
    For others reading this thread
Most customers that need to convert an Output Designer IFD form for use with ADEP/LiveCycle Designer have access to Output Designer; the tool that originaly created the IFD files.
Current version is 5.7; the import feature in ADEP/LiveCycle Designer is the only conversion that Adobe offers.
The import requires Output Designer to be installed with ADEP/LiveCycle Designer for it to work.
The product is unfortunately not posted as a trial in a public place. To use the importer a licensed copy of Output Designer 5.7 should used.
Check around your organization for a copy; check your organizations S/W entitlements in Adobe LWS.
If you have an old version 5.4 and need 5.7; if you have current Adobe support; request an upgrade to 5.7 from Adobe Customer Care
The product is still available for sale and as a discounted license upgrade for customers that do not have current support.
If you have a regular Adobe representative for you account – a trial version can be ordered for you in a pinch – but this may take a while.
Adobe Partners with appropriate privilages can acess Output Designer 5.7  as a download on the partner portal.

  • Can Output Designer be used without installing Output server?

    Hi,
Is it possible to use Output Designer independently of Output Server? I cannot find any detailed documentation on the Adobe site and it is not possible to download a trial version.
I want to create a form that we ensure users entered mandatory fields and that has dynamic sub forms. I do not need to do any further electronic processing of the data in the form once it has been filled in.
    Thxs

    Hi,
Yes you can use the output designer without the output server.
We are using the Jfmerge to merge the text file( a temp file to manupulate the data) and .DAT files.the output will be a PCL file. This PCL file you cn send to printer or you can convert it to any other format. We are converting it to PDF file using PCL2PDF file.
    Thanks,

  • Anybody know where I can find tutorials and training materials for Adobe Output Designer

    Hi everybody,
I am a graphic / web designer and newly appointed on a project requiring Adobe Output Designer skills. Now, I've already searched in a lot of places: but still couldn't find a reliable source of tutorials and training materials for Adobe Output Designer.
    Can anybody help?
    thanks a lot in advance,
    ovlique

The DJI cameras were first supported in ACR 8.3 and more support added in ACR 8.4:
    Lens profile support | Lightroom 5, 4, 3 | Photoshop CS6, CS5 | Camera Raw 8, 7, 6
You will need PS-CS6 or PS-CC or PSE12 with current updates on OSX 10.7.x or Windows 7+ to use this version of ACR.
However, even if you have an older version of PS or older OS, if you can install the Adobe DNG Converter, you can copy these lens profiles to the User's lens profile folder and they might be seen.  I can give more specific instructions about doing this if you are unable to update PS's ACR to 8.3/8.4.

  • New User to Adobe Output Designer

I've been using Output Designer for a year, and have been trained to do just the basic (using fields, logos, text). Is there a way to scan an existing paper form into Output Designer, without having to re-type all of the information? What are sub-forms, and tear-offs? Are they useful? Has anyone used the global function? Thanks for the assistance.

The field is global to the specific data file (xxx.dat file) and any form references (^form formname.mdf) within that data file. There wouldn't be a problem unless Output Designer forms and those from the other software were called forth by the same data file (and they both used the same field names).
FormBridge was extreamly useful to us for our conversion effort. We had several hundred forms and we used the software for most of them, particularly those with lots of lines & boxes. Our design person finally got very proficient using the software and stopped using FormBridge except for the extreamly complex forms.
You would have to judge the usefulness for yourself, comparing its cost to the time savings. It takes just seconds to do a form while doing it all by hand, even using cut & paste, could take hours if not days. At the time we go it the pricing was:
    ]25 pages for $495
    50 pages for $890
    100 pages for $1675
    150 pages for $2400
    300-499 pages for $15.50/page
    500-999 pages for $14.80/page
    and so on
I can't find any reference to "Output Distiller" in the help for my version of the software (Windows). I do know that there is an Output Distiller as a part of Adobe Acrobat but I don't know anything more about it.

  • Designer Version for O9i ver.  9.2.0.1.0 ?

    Hi,
Where can i get Oracle Designer version that goes with Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 for Win2K ?
I have downloaded the ones currently available -
    A99230-01.zip
    A99231-01.zip
But these are for 9.0.2.0.1 and while installing this on top of 9.2.0.1.0, it gives error "Oracle9iAS cannot be installed into an existing Oracle9i 9.2.0.1.0 or higher Oracle Home"
There seems to be a version mis-match. Where can i get the latest one for my 9.2.0.1.0 ?
    Thnx.

    Hi Suneet,
There is actually no 9i Designer version 9.2.0.1.0.
From the information you provided, it seems you are
trying to install the full 9iDS pack (9.0.2.0.1) on
the top of a 9.2.0.1.0 database, which I would not
advise. Install the products in this way:
    1) 9i database 9.2.0.1.0 into one home
    2) 9iDS 9.0.2.0.1 pack into a separate home
    3) 9i Designer 9.0.2.5.0 into the iDS home
9i Designer 9.0.2.5.0 is available from our Designer
    pages here on OTN.
    Hope this helps.

  • Issue with Output designer and  Konica bizhub Pro 920 Driver:

Hi, i would appreciate if someone could help me with the following issue:
I have designed a document using Adobe Output Designer and need to print it on Konica printer which uses above driver. Konica is not included in Adobe Presentment Target List so i am trying to use a Generic Postscript L2 - (PSLEVEL2) presentment target. I want to make few changes to this driver to match it with destination printer settings. e.g Output Order should be Face Up, Input and Output Tray should be Auto, Print position should be Left etc etc. I have tried to edit ICS file but it's not making any sense to me as i dont's know the PCL. Could anyone familiar with a similar situation help?
    Thanks in advance

  • Output Designer Executable Problem When Compiling

I am currently experiencing a problem compiling some templates, where the Output Designer crashes with the following message 'Output Designer Executable has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
I have been working with a number of templates and most have compiled successfully without any problem. However occasionally they are crashing where they previously worked before. I also experience this problem using Test Presentment.
This crash is happening intermittently, but often enough to be causing me problems.
My feeling is it something to do with XP and memory allocation for compiles but I have not got to the bottom of this.
Can anyone give me any advice over this problem. Have any of you experienced this problem, if so how did you resolve it ?
Is there any settings that would solve this ?
    Thanks
    Stephen

    Stephen,
I am having a similar problem. Have you been able to figure it out yet?
    Thanks,

  • Can Output Designer 5.6 compiled templates run on Jetform Server 5.4.1?

Has anyone tried to run templates compiled in Output Designer 5.6, on Jetform Server 5.4.1 (i.e. Central Pro Server)?

Best try it, to be honest. Whether the class files are compatible is only part of the equation. Other things can go wrong, too. For example, we had a similar situation a few years back, where the vendor had a bunch of packages with 'enum' in the name. Bang. Falls over on anything 1.5 or later, when enum became a keyword. There are quite a few open-source libs with the same problem, various Apache Commons libs leap to mind. If your vendor's used any of them, you'll hit the same problem. There's no way you can really just expect it to work, you need to either persuade them to build it on 1.6, or run some exhaustive testing on it yourself, which of course would be a good idea regardless....

  • Documentation required on Output Designer

    Hi,
I am new to Adobe Output Designer development.
Can someone please help me by sharing documentations or some useful links on Adobe Output Designer?
    Thanks in Advance.

There is documentation for Output Designer in the installation directory where you installed it (e.g. C:\Program Files\Adobe\Output Designer 5.6\Documentation\). The DevelopingTemplates.pdf has Section 9 - Advanced Template Concepts and Appendix A - Intelligent Pagination Reference. These two explain the use of the Preamble in Adobe Output Designer forms.

Read this - LiveCycle ES2 * Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2
It says that 'you must install Output Designer 5.5 or later on the same computer as LiveCycle Designer' . Do you have Output designer also available on the same machine>
