I must buy a digital video camera recorder of the Canon mark, on APPLE Store
for example.
Models presented on the site have a very precise denomination on the output of the signal.
I see that models precise: output DV (Firewire - IEEE 1394).
Others precise only left DV (in/out).
does it have a difference which would make that I cannot
import with my video camera in iMovie HD?

the model Canon MVX 45i, it is not mentioned only: output DV (in/out).

You want a camcorder with DV or Firewire in and out.
Some European camcorders have DV-in disabled due to tax regulations so they have DV-out only (i.e. the camcorder is nEUterized . You can't export the iMovie project back to such camcorder!

I have a columns in a database with data the could have been transpose meaning the keyer might have entered. 1234 and someone else could have come in and put 2134.
the characters are the same but the numbers are in a different order. Is there any function that would allow me to query just based on characters? hence bringing back the 1234 and 2134 rows?

You can use CONNECT BY to re-arrange the characters in a string in ascending order, then use that value to compare strings.
For example, in the following sample data:

How do i get my contacts to sync so they are the same on my computer, Iphone and Icloud?
from over the years I had a lot of information in my address book that was not relevent anymore, was incorrect or incomplete or a dupluicate. I went through all of them on my mac computer and updated all of the information. As soon as I pluged my iphone in to sync it I ended up with more duplicates, some contacts on my phone not on my computer and vise versa. I checked Icloud to make sure that one was ok but it is different from both my computer and my phone. Now I have 3 different versions of my contacts. How do I sync all three so they are the same so I can start cleaning it up again? Does i matter where I make the changes (phone, computer or cloud)? After I clean everthing up again how do I make sure that the most current and correct contacts are in all three places? Please help it making me a bit crazy at the moment.
That's your problem. You must have 10.7.5 or later installed to have iCloud. Upgrade your computer:

My iphone / mac no longer recognize they are the same Itunes library. When I try to sync my phone now, it wants to erase everything and replace it with the computers itunes library. I have purchased items on the phone I don't want to erase them from the phone. The phone backs up fine, but won't sync.

I changed my Apple ID. What can I do to change my icloud ID also so that they are the same.
If you used the "Manage your Apple ID" login at https://appleid.apple.com to simply change your primary email address of your existing AppleID, then all you need do is log out of iCloud and then log back in with the new email. If on an iOS device, go to settings, delete the iCloud account, and then log back into it with the new email address.
If you actually created a wholly new AppleID, then you cannot change that for your existing iCloud address. You can make a new iCloud account with the new AppleID. But your current iCloud login would continue to use the same AppleID as its login. -
I forgot my security question and my rescue email are the same as Apple ID so cannot reset my security question. Any advice on how to reset m security or add a rescue email ? Thanks
If you don't have a rescue email address then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

I have an Apple TV . My husband has an I-pad 2 and I Have an I-Pad 3. When my I-Pad 3 is used we have no problems. However when we try to use my husbands I-Pad 2 video mirrioing lags behind for minutes. We checked settings and both I-pads are the same. What can one do to use the I-Pad 2 without any mirroring lag. You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.

My email password and my verizon account password are the same? Are you SERIOUS?
The other day I did something I never do, actually log into my verizon account. I hate the verizon interface, I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than use it, but every now and then I have to use it to handle a bill. So, of course the password that I remembered setting on it didn't work. So I jumped through the hoops to reset the password, conducted my business, and left the site, hopefully not to return for a year at least.
Lo and behold, the next time I tried to access my email (which I use Thunderbird for, and don't tell me it's not a supported client, it works fine, and no I'm not going to use Verizon's webmail interface), it won't accept my email password. Now, this password HAD always been distinct from my verizon account password. But...telling myself, "Oh no they didn't," I tried using the new password that I'd set for my online account. Surprise! It let me into my email!
Now, this morning, neither the new password nor my old email password are being accepted.
So, I have two questions, apart from the existential "why does Verizon feel the need to torture its customers like this":
1)Are they SERIOUSLY requiring you to have the SAME password for your email AND your My Verizon Account?
2)If, as I hope and pray, the answer to 1 is "hellz no", how can I change just my EMAIL password?
Anticipating a reply of, "No, it's just one password, because we've decided that's MORE secure, and your whole problem is that you're using Thunderbird, because ummmm somehow Thunderbird renders passwords into ancient Greek before it submits them and so it won't work, but of course some dull-normal client like Outlook WILL work, and don't ask me the details because I'm really not very technical, but apparently I'm technical enough to tell you that your client is no good"...Yes, the passwords are the same now. Verizon made a big push a while back to give customers a single login. They merged everyone's accounts, not because it is more secure, but because they think customers will find it easier. No, there is no way to change just your email password.
And no, there is absolutely nothing wrong with using Thunderbird. Many of us have it configured for verizon.net addresses, and it works just fine.

All apps are tied to the apple id that it was used to purchase or download the app.

My iPhone has two identical options under "iTunes wi-fi sync" that are the same computer. I only have one user on my computer, and I tried moving my iTunes file in Finder to organize it and now my library's not synced with my phone. Help?
I have the same problem. Right now my iPhone 5S shows 3 instances of the computer to which it is connected under Settings » General » iTunes WiFi Sync. I'm having problems connecting and syncing, and this is probably the cause: the phone chooses one of these connections, and it isn't the one that's actually in use. What's probably happening is that the phone and computer establish a connection using a dynamic IP address, the address becomes "disassociated" due to error, another address is associated, the phone retains each address/link, and each link is displayed as if it represents a separate computer (the fact that the name of the computer is identical is ignored, as the only thing that is considered important is the IP address). But that's all conjecture. More important, I'm not sure how to fix the problem. A network reset doesn't do it.

*Fix* Usage and Standby Times are the same - iPhone 4S 7.0.4
I'd like to share my experience here because I actually found the solution on here but I'm actually having trouble finding it again.
I had three problems:
1. My standby and usage times were always reporting the same values, thus draining my battery faster than usual. This is not normal behavior; whenever the screen is off it should report standby times, and after the phone is unlocked it is considered usage. They should never be recording in tangent.
2. Whenever I would try to turn off my phone by holding down the power button, the phone would basically restart itself, showing the Apple logo boot screen and then restarting. The only caveat was that it would turn off if it was plugged in and being charged. But take it off the charger and try to replicate it turning off and it would restart.
3. The sound would sometimes think that it was connected to a Dock, so when I went to the Airplay options, they were listed as Dock Connector, Airport Express and Apple TV. There would be no volume slider in the Control Center, and when pressing the volume buttons, there would be no dots, just the bell with a line through it.
Many people might be having genuine battery issues, where you have an older phone and your battery is just really bad and needs to be replaced. My 4S was still under AppleCare in December 2013 and the battery was pretty bad, so I had it replaced in an Apple Store. So for me, the battery life itself was not the problem.
I tried a lot of things to try and fix the above problem but none of them helped. This includes chatting with Apple support (I was surprised they didn't steer me in an obvious direction, considering the large amount of folks who were having these kinds of problems, but they played dumb), restoring fresh and restoring icloud and itunes backups, all kinds of combinations of settings for Mail, iCloud, etc., but nothing worked. I probably restored my phone at least ten times in my troubleshooting efforts. The isolated test of restoring my phone fresh, setting it up to the start screen, making sure the battery was charged 100% and taking it off the charger waiting about 10 minutes. Then I would check standby and usage times.
I had read about fixes for the phone not being able to turn completely off, and it had something to do with cleaning the charging port. I attempted to clean the port with compressed air and other methods, but it never fixed this problem. Then I read a post on Apple Support about a guy who had the exact same problems as I did, then said he changed out his charging port and this fixed it. Well, it was $40 so I paid someone to do it in 45 minutes.
After I got my phone back the problem didn't appeared to be fixed, but after a restore and even with an icloud backup restored with it, I looked down at my phone and presto chango, the times where separate and working as they should. Last night with wifi off while I was sleeping, the battery only went down 3%. I know this is turning out to be a narrative, but I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the problem was and it was a frustrating process. I'm happy it's resolved.
Apple Support thought it was a corrupt install package from iTunes, or some kind of software glitch or maybe some part of iCloud constantly trying to call home, but it was a combination of both hardware and software. Because of the bad charging port, for some reason the phone thought it was still being used and thus was still treating standby as usage.
I would encourage those that are having this problem to do a test and see if your phone will turn off when you want it to. If it resets automatically and if your standby usage times are the same, replacing the charging port might fix it.Ever since iOS7.0.6. and still on iOS7.1 both me and my wife had huge battery drain on our iPhone 4S and stand-by was equal to usage time. We finally found the solution to a post of another user on the Dutch Tweakers forum. There seem to be a bug within a certain Dutch coupon app called 'Scoupy' which drained the battery completely although GPS setting was turned of and also 'refresh on background' was off.
Scoupy said that a fix for their app is send for approval to the App Store. We removed the app and our usage/stand-by time is again as normal (higher stand-by time then usage time) and best of all a 'normal' battery use as it was the case on iOS7.0.4. I hope this could help someone. I'm wondering if the iBeacon changes in iOS7.0.6/7.1 together with a bug in the Scoupy app could be the cause? Maybe this is also with our similar apps you have on your phone. -
When I am manually backing up folders from Macbook Pro Mountain Lion to an external drive, the dates for folders are being misread? It will say "An older item named.." every time. I checked the dates and times and they are the same on Mountain Lion and the External drive for the files and the folders. It should send me back a message saying "An item named “” already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the one you’re moving?"
When I try to move an individual file to the external drive and the dates are the same, I get the correct message - "an item named "" already exists..." so the issue is only with the folders.
I have only had this issue since the update to OS 10.8. Any Suggestions? thanksThe modification date of a file is stored internally in seconds. The Finder rounds off to the nearest minute. If the age of two files differs by less than 30 seconds, they'll seem to have the same modification date in the Finder.

The ipad won't sync some photos, saying the file can't be read by the ipad, however it will sync some photos taken at the same time which are the same size and file type. Why does it reject some and accept others?
Hi there. I'm having the same problem: my iPad won't import some photos from a folder, saying that they can't be read. They are all JPEGS and some photos taken at the same time have synched fine, but out of a folder with 200 photos, it only lets me synch 37. I'm synching albums created via Photoshop Elements 6, which has worked fine until now.
I've tried deleting all photos and re-synching, and have also deleted the iPod Photo Cache, but it hasn't made a difference.
The iPad auto-updated to the latest version of iTunes, so maybe that's what's causing it?
