Output errors, Transmit discards and big buffer errors on 1121 AP

I have a AIR-AP1121G-A-K9 running c1100-k9w7-tar.123-7.JA2 (Autonomous)
We have monitoring setup with Orion NPM and we consistently see output errors, Transmit discards and big buffer errors
The users at the site have not reporting any issues but was wondering how to prevent these or are these normal?
What causes the output errors on Wireless Radio ? How to troubleshoot further ?

    Maybe your firewall or security software are preventing the download from finishing. You could try disabling them until you finish the download

  • AP1242 Excessive Transmit Discards and performance complaints

    I have an AP1242 near a couple of conference rooms.  I get complaints when we have a large contingent in there
    and some try to download documents.  The bandwidth consumption is meage - less than 2Mbps.  But there
    could be say 50 people in those training rooms.  I see no errors at the FE interface on the AP but I do see
    a good number of Transmit Discards.  A few questions from this..
    Are 50 users connected to an AP1242 simply more than should be expected of the device?  802.11g is the radio.
    Are transmit discards indicative of some kind of configuration problem?  The users in these cases are
    generally very close to the access point - within a few feet even.
    If it is indicative of a configuration problem would that be an issue of the configuration of the laptop wifi
    cards or a problem at the AP?
    Thank you for any insight.
    Michael

    I have an AP1242 near a couple of conference rooms.
    You have a SINGLE unit serving two conference rooms.  How big are the conference rooms and what signals do the AP detect the clients?  What kind of antennas you using?  What radios are enabled?  What data rates are enabled?
    I get complaints when we have a large contingent in there and some try to download documents.Are 50 users connected to an AP1242 simply more than should be expected of the device?  802.11g is the radio.
    50 users???  That's too much clients for a single AP.  You need to understand that wireless behaves like a hub:  One talks, everyone else stops to wait for their turn.  And this is on a 100 Mbps ethernet.
    Are transmit discards indicative of some kind of configuration problem?  The users in these cases are generally very close to the access point - within a few feet even.
    Discards mostly mean signal issues.  Possibly interferrence.  Bluetooth, microwave ovens, old DECT phones, wireless from nearby blasting at the same channels can potentially cause slow responses and discards.
    I've got some solutions for you:
    1.  Add one or two APs;
    2.  Disable 802.11 b/g data rates from 12 Mbps and below.  Make 18 Mbps mandatory and above 18 Mbps as Supported.
    3.  Use 802.11 a (less channel interferrence).
    4.  DO NOT be tempted to use high-gain antenna.  You're inviting more trouble than solution.

  • Windows vista recovery error CTOERROR.flg and following that error 0x643 while installing update

    Hi All
    system info : HP LAPTOP DV6 -1256tx , windows vista sp1 32 bit
    When I am trying to install windows vista sp1 from recovery disks/partition I am getting the error from recovery manager prompting me to choose either to retry or see the details for failure : CTOERROR.flg in form of notepad on my desktop. I have done retry 100 times but to no avail. I cannot restart after this recovery failure message as it shows dialog box on restart: windows security update is not installed successfully or is not trusted.So, i have to go through recovery process again to see the desktop (everything functioning - internet,video, music all) but only once.
    Last time i got this message too . When i did installing windows from recovery disks few months back, that time  i figured out to install all imp. updates  through  automatic  windows update.All the updates were installed successfully and then it restarted and gone through process of language settings,time settings and all....
    But this time when i am trying to update windows, i am getting windows update error 0x643 which is for security update for .net framewrok 3.5 sp1 and family update.I do know the answer how to get away with this error from "windows help" and also from this forum too, which asks for installing .net framework updates from windows update site directly. But the problem is:
     Windows update ask me to restart after automatic or manual windows update installation takes place and restart causes problem as it shows dialog box - windows security update is not installed successfully . I need to install all updates in one go like last time from my understanding.:
    1. So if i install windows update (to try my luck as last time) it shows 0x643 error for .net framework and asks to restart and after that when i try to manually install failed updated 0x643 it asks me to restart the windows for pending updates.
    2. Alternatively, If i try to install failed update first just after recovery failure it won't allow me to install important updates for vista sp1 and asks to restart windows.
    All i need is to successfully update all updates through windows automatic update which is not happening at the moment.
    Not even able to upgrade to sp2 bcz it too restarts for installing.
    Please Help.
    Thanks in advance.

    and it some times show in browser 403 Forbidden error and some times 503 server error
    when i check in event viewer i got this below errors
    adil

    That particular 'error' is OK. It just means that a non-Farm Admin service account doesn't have the rights to run that sproc. Normal with best practice security in mind.
    You may want to check the IIS logs to see what the
    subcode for the 403/503 errors are.

  • TechComm2: 9004 error for FM and 'stopped working' error for RH8

    I have been running the demo versions of FM9 and RH8 under Windows 7 for three weeks with no problems - for no apparent reason both apps stopped working this afternoon.
    'Internal Error 9004, 6919244, 9675646, 0. FrameMaker has detected a serious problem and must quit.' error at the Localization phase when launching FM.
    'Adobe RoboHelp 8 has stopped working' at the Loading Components phase when launching RoboHelp.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled the applications with no change.
    Any ideas?
    Coincidentally, I purchased and registered the TechCommSuite 2 upgrade this morning, about two hours before this mess started. I have a documentation and Online Help project due today - what a mess.

    Pieter,
    Simply navigate to c:\users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe and rename the 'Linguistics' folder (Framemaker should NOT be running - otherwise, the folder will be write locked and unable to be modified). As a precaution against doing more damage to my installation I renamed the 'Linguistics' folder instead of deleting the folder (for example, Linguistics.bak). When Framemaker opened it automatically recreated the 'Linguistics' folder as well as the dictionaries, at which point I deleted 'Linguistics.bak'. Since then I have had no problems. By the way, I am running Windows 7; if you are running a pre-Vista version of the OS you will find your 'user' folder under c:\documents & settings. Good Luck.

  • FAX Error Codes 349 and 351

    I try to fax my daughter in Florida which is area code 941 and I live in area code 580 (Okla) and I constantly get
    Error Codes 349 and 351.  I called her numerous times and she is receiving faxes frin all over the country with no problem.  Why can't HP find this problem and help me resolve it.    I was on the phone over 4 ours with a tech rep and she was unable to resolve it and said she would refer it to her case manager who would not be able to fix it, but would call me sometime on Monday.  This is a ridiculous situation.  I can send faxes locally with no problem.  I have a fiber optics telephone connection.  Does anyone have a possible solution.  I am really fed up with HP and having to try to explain situations to someone in a foreign country where everything I say has to be repeated back to me takiing up more time.

    Hi nmcclell,
    I am sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. I am sure after spending 4 hours on the phone with HP tech support the last thing you want to do it more troubleshooting but I have some information specific to those error codes if your interested. In the unlikely event that maybe something was missed here is the definition and solution for error code 349 and 351.
    Error Code: 344, 345, 346, 347, 348, 349 ECM, 350 ECM, 351 ECM, 352 ECM, 353 ECM, 354, 355
    Definitions
    The remote machine failed to respond to a fax command from the local machine because the connection was interrupted. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the area to be faxed are old or there is noise (static on the phone line). Other reasons can include power outages and other power-related problems.
    The call-waiting service can cause this error. The click, heard for an incoming call, is actually a momentary disconnect of the line.
    The remote user pressed the Stop key while the reception was in progress.
    Under rare conditions, incompatibility between the two machines might cause the remote machine to abandon the call.
    Solutions
    Retryt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.
    Disable ECM. Errors might still occur, and might result in a degraded image quality on the received page. However, the ability to send the entire document will be improved.
    Try sending at a lower transmission speed

    I hope this helps. I understand if you are not interested in more troubleshooting but thank you for taking the time to reach out to the HP Forums. We are here to help.

    Hi,
    As per your thread it seems that PR has been generated automatically while creation of Sales Order and you have converted it to PO. (Same as Third-Party Sales Process). If yes then read following carefully.
    If a PO has not yet been created, to confirm the quantity change in the requisition, change the sales order with transaction code VA02. Select the item and choose Schedule lines for item. Double-click the schedule line with the confirmed quantity. Choose the Procurement tab, choose Edit and check if the quantity for the purchase requisition has also been updated.
    If a PO has already been created, to confirm the PO change, change the sales order with transaction code VA02. Choose Document flow. Select the purchase order and choose Display document.
    Result: - The sales order quantity has been changed. If a PO existed, you have changed the PO quantity. Otherwise, you have changed the requisition quantity.
    In short, first change the Sales Order quantity and then change the PO Quantity.

  • Error Opening Address Book, iChat, iCal and Big Bang Board Games

    Hello,
    I mistakenly trashed the applications list. In order to restore the applications list, I pulled the list out of trash to the desktop and then back to the sidebar. At this point, the applications were not available to the other users of the computer. I then copied the list to the universal applications folder. Now, all but the Address Book, iCal, iChat and Big Bang Board Games work. These applications close "unexpectedly" when I try and open them. The following is the header of the report for the Address Book:
    Date/Time: 2007-07-06 10:46:34.136 -0400

    Hello Mike:
    Welcome to Apple discussions (from where you were on the dark side):
    Try a couple of things.
    Run repair disk from your software install DVD (until it reports no errors).
    If that does not work, I would opt for an archive and install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
    A&I installs a pristine version of OS X (which would have to be updated, of course) while preserving your files, programs, and settings.

  • 8540w no display port video output and strange LED error code

    Greetings,
    my HP 8540w (I5 M 560, Quadro FX 880M) recently started acting a bit strangely.
    First the graphics card driver started crashing.
    A couple of days ago it started showing this strange I presume it to be an error code:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/29403117/IMG_0902.JPG
    And today the display port output doesn't detect any monitor (VGA works). The laptop is docked on a HP basic docking station and out of the three display output options only the VGA works.
    I've searched the web and found that error codes are displayed only via the blinking num lock and caps lock LEDs. The amber Wi-Fi and HDD LEDs turn on when the laptop is turned off and operate with normal colors while the laptop is turned on.
    Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before, will the graphics card have to be replaced or can this be fixed?
    Thank you for your replys and best regards.

  • Java seems to be having a buffer error....

    Ok let me start by saying I do not know any JAVA programming. I just trying to fix something that some dump programmer charged me a ton of money for and it does not work right...
    The program reads a XML stream and creates XML files... The read works great!!! I had someone help me figure out how to get rid of the write code to make sure the read was working and it works great. The problem exists when the files seem to happening when the files are being written... A 1mb file can take up to 8 hours to download and write to a file. But if you get rid of the write the stream can read that entire one meg in 15 seconds. So something tells me its some sort of buffer error or something like that. Here is the code...
    import java.io.BufferedReader;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.InputStreamReader;
    import java.io.PrintWriter;
    import java.net.ServerSocket;
    import java.net.Socket;
    public class SocketReader
    ServerSocket server = null;
    Socket client = null;
    BufferedReader in = null;
    PrintWriter out = null;
    String line;
    String strTotal="";
    public void listenSocket()
    try {
    server = new ServerSocket(9600);
    catch (IOException e) {
    System.out.println("Could not listen on port 9600");
    System.exit(-1);
    try {
    client = server.accept();
    catch (IOException e) {
    System.out.println("Accept failed: 9600");
    System.exit(-1);
    try {
    in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(client.getInputStream()));
    out = new PrintWriter(client.getOutputStream(), true); //Getting client's output stream coz its up for grabs
    catch (IOException e) {
    System.out.println("Accept failed: 9600");
    System.exit(-1);
    int iCount=0;
    int iChk=0;
    try {
    while ((line = in.readLine()) != null) {
    System.out.println(line);
    if (line != null)
    iCount=line.length();
    if (iCount==3){ //(line.startsWith("<?xml")){
    if (iChk!=0){
    //XMLWriter.writeXML(strTotal.substring(5, strTotal.length()).trim());
    strTotal="";
    iChk=1;
    strTotal=strTotal+"\n"+line;
    out.println(line);
    out.flush();
    //XMLWriter.writeXML(line);
    //Send data back to client. Not required. Just writing back to the client coz u have his output stream!
    //out.println("Received string" + line);
    catch (IOException e) {
    //e.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println("Read failed");
    System.exit(-1);
    protected void finalize()
    //Clean up
    try {
    in.close();
    out.close();
    server.close();
    catch (IOException e) {
    System.out.println("Could not close.");
    System.exit(-1);
    public static void main(String[] args)
    SocketReader frame = new SocketReader();
    frame.listenSocket();
    }

    A ton of money? Hopefully not too much money, as that code shouldn't have taken more than one hour to write. And it could have been done better (although consultants ALWAYS say that about the previous guy's code).
    However if I start telling you what to fix, then I'm going to get into remote debugging and I really don't want to do that. Besides there's a lot of stuff in there that leads me to believe there's some strange requirements. Let me just say that a StringBuffer would have been a much more effective tool to accumulate a big string, if you want to get the original programmer back to fix the code, although that isn't going to help you as a non-programmer.
