Output file is in slow motion

hello,
When I render my video in after effects the output file is in slow motion, its not the render settings but something else.
Anyone can help me?
thanks

What do you mean that it's in slow motion? Are you sure that the problem isn't that you created a file so large that your video player and computer can't play it in real time?
See this page:

  • Working with Slow motion (240fps) Sony F55 Raw mxf files

I'm working on a project that uses both 25p files and 240fps slow motion files from a Sony F55.
The problem is that when I add the slow motion files to my file list everything gets media pending, even the normal 25p files. If I delete the the slow motion files from the list the normal 25p gets back to normal behaviour, withous Media Pending.
It seems that Premiere Pro cannot work very good with Sony RAW 240fps files. Is that I known bug? Is there a way to fix it?

My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion and staggers into normal play. The clips are slightly cut as well, the clips do not roll continuously.  I'm taling about videos that are no more than 2 minutes long.  I'm frustrated and I could really use some advice-my kids basketball games is what I'm recording and I'm trying to send them to my family (they are not very tech savvy). Thanks

Not it's only function but one for which it was most admirably suited, which is why I really hope someone can find a work around. I am hoping my post to the Apple feedback may prompt a useful response from Apple and I live in hope that my post here will elicit a useful response from another user. I did not miss the the text at the top of the feedback form but you presumably missed my initial text, 'someone here can explain' or my subsequent 'work around from another user'
Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)
Yes I know it does other things but the purpose I bought it for doesn't work anymore

  • Compositing Motion output files

    Hi all-
I asked a question and many chimed in, but the answers didn't quite rectify the issue. I re-read my post, and I think the issue could have been better explained. Here goes:
We are producing an animated trailer for our film.
In Motion, we created a snowstorm (Motion project file #1) and a 3D words that fly over head (Motion project file #2-7).
The quality of each of these files looks GREAT when viewed in the Motion canvas on my 30" Studio display at 100% (great crisp edges).
I outputted each of the motion project files to a quicktime movie with an alpha channel using the ANIMATION codec set to 100%
The quicktime files, when viewed in quicktime look great -- just about as good as they look in the Motion canvas.
Now I need a solution to composite all of these ANIMATION quicktime files into a movie.....Final Cut, right?
So I did that and here is the result:
    http://rccm.org/longago.jpg
The top image is a still exported from quicktime using one of the individual motion project files
The bottom is a still exported from FCP after the composite...
WHERE AM I GETTING THIS HORRIBLE LOSS?
I've read the article on why images look bad on the FCP canvas, but the lower speaks for itself when compared to the upper.
HOW CAN I BEST COMPOSITE THE QUICKTIME FILES?
    Here's our workflow
    1) Create in Motion
    2) Output each element to a ANIMATION file
    3) compile all output files in FCP (in a 1920x1080 sequence using the Animation codec at 100%)
    4) Output from FCP using (????)
Using the latest versions of FCS
    Thanks!
    Many thanks!

OK....I changed the Field Dominence (in FCP's Sequence settings) to Upper (odd) and it now looks good.
    I tested the output.
I checked and rechecked -- I am outputting from Motion with no field dominance.
I'm glad we found this solution...but why is this happening???

  • When I view or upload files (such as on You Tube) there is no longer normal image movement. All action has a "strobe" effect as in slow motion, but audio seems normal. Is this a plug-in problem?

All of a sudden when I view a file that's been downloaded, or viewed on line, whether in Windows Media, or on You Tube on line site, or Power DVD Play program, the image appears as if it was in a slow motion "strobe" effect, while the audio sounds consistent, (barring the frequent stalls). If I burn a DVD, it has the slow motion strobe effect burnt into the disc as well & is difficult to view on a DVD player. Is this a plug-in problem that has suddenly manifested, and is there a way of getting the system back to it's normal operation??

    Hello Joe.
Try disabling all add-ons (that's extensions, plugins and themes, go into ''Tools > Add-ons'') except for Flash and see if the problem persists. If they don't, enable one add-on at a time until you find the problem. If they do, try a new [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles Firefox profile] and see if it has the same issues. If it does (make sure other plugins aren't enabled), you need to contact Adobe for support on their Flash plugin ([https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ updating] it will be the first thing they tell you to do). If it doesn't, please tell me.

  • How to Play Slow motion FLV File

    Hi,
I would like to play a Slow Motion FLV File in Flex using Action Script but unable to find any way to do so. I have looked into the Action Script API proposed by Adobe but couldn't find any way. Can you people please help me in this regard?
    Thanks in advance...

Well I guess you can't do it with play() since it will go real time speed so if thinking out of the box you could edit the movie itself or pause the video and set a timer to move to a specific time location of the flv so it will act like a slow motion. I guess that would require for you to export your movie with a lot of keyframes and I still can't be sure if it would work Good luck with that!

  • How to properly timewarp 59.94 footage for slow motion effect for 29.97 output

I have footage filmed in 59.94 that I want to use for slow motion effects and output to 29.97. Using timewarp I seem to get duplicate frames at times. What would the best workflow to accomplish the cleanest result? I've tried interpreting the footage at 29.97 and keeping it at its native 59.94. At this point I feel like I'm just confusing myself further by just trying random things. Thanks!

Always interpret footage as what it really is. If it is really 59.94 progressive then that's what it should be interpreted as. It will play at the right speed in any comp of any frame rate. IOW, if the footage is 10 seconds and you put it in a 99fps comp and play it back at full frame rate the clip will still be 10 seconds long. If you put it in a comp that's 15 frames per second, the clip will still be 10 seconds long.
    Make sure you understand that.
There is a chance, and a good chance, that your footage is actually full frame 59.94 fps video. That's why I suggested putting it in a comp that's also 59.94 fps and checking for duplicate frames.
There is also a chance that your footage is actually 29.97 fps interlaced. If you separate fields and look at the footage in a 59.94 fps comp you won't see any duplicate frames.
To change the speed of the clip you just need to apply Time Remapping, Time Warp, or any of the other Time Time tools in AE. It doesn't make any difference what the frame rate of the composition is, you'll be changing the length of the clip.
To keep from creating duplicate frames you either need software that interprets the new, extra frames or you need to use an exact whole number multiple of the frame rate for rendering.
Where did you get the footage? What Camera? What are you trying to do with it? What is the final destination (delivery) for your project.

  • HT204076 Slow motion files not playing in slo-mo after 8.1.1

I had some slow motion video clips I made of my grandson with iPhone 5S with iOS7. After upgrading to IOS 8.1.1, they will not play in slow motion on the iPhone or in iTunes on my Mac Pro 5.1 (2010). In the 'Master' file I found the clips and the size of the file is much bigger than non slow mo clips of the same time length. Also, when the info tab is selected and I scroll through my photos, the info does list the frames per second as 120 FPS. I cannot find a way to play the clip in slow-mo as I haas before the update. My Mac Pro is running Mountain Lion.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • 16:9 JES deinterlacer slow motion

I am trying to use JES deinterlacer to slow down a clip but cant seem to get the output in 16:9. I have followed the instructions below and keep checking the 16:9 box but the output is always squashed 4:3. I've tried fiddling with the options and cant seem to find an answer.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    From JES instructions.,..
Slow-motion and fast-motion: In JES Deinterlacer's Project tab select "Project kind: Standards conversion". Select "Custom" and set "Movie speed: 0.5" for 0.5x slow-motion, 2 for 2x fast-motion and so on for other speeds. You can select speed ratios in the range of 0.1-10x with 0.01 decimal precision (with v2.7.1 the 0.1x may stall and with 0.2x the audio is out of sync. 0.25-10x are OK). THEN set the other options:
For NTSC use "Settings/Height: 480, Width: 720, Frame rate: 29.97".
For PAL use "Settings/Height: 576, Width: 720, Frame rate: 25".
Check "Blend" and let "Scale only" remain unchecked.
In the Output tab set "Video output/Compressor/Export: DV Stream.../DV Format: DV, Video Format: NTSC/PAL, Scan Mode: Interlaced, Aspect ratio: 4:3/16:9, Audio Format: Unlocked/Locked, Rate: 48.000 kHz".
Let "Progressive (out)" remain unchecked. (Leave the other options as defaults).
Select the output folder via "Put..." and click "OK" to start processing.

I exported the clip as a full quality clip from iMovie5 (had to go back to it after audio trouble importing from my HDR-HC1). I get a .mov file and then use that as an input file for JES. The 'converted' file is a .mov.proj.dv file which looks like a squashed 16:9 in 4:3 window in QT. I tried importing it back into iMovie and it imports as a 4:3 with black side bars - no letterboxing. The project I am working on is a 16:9 HD format.
I havent tried any other exporting yet as I'm fairly sure if they look that way in QT and imovie then that's probably how they are.
I do notice that when I make all the settings in JES, as I outlined in my question post, once I change the aspect ratio to 16:9 and then close that window and open it again, the setting seems to have defaulted back to 4:3. I tried it several times... (Ver 2.7.3 - I think that's the latest)
    I really appreciate any advice.

  • Problem slowing down Sony FS-700 slow motion video

Now that I've had to use third party software (another topic for another day) to get my slow motion footage onto my computer, I want to slow it down even further.  I can shoot 120, 240, 480 or 960 fps on my camera and it lays it down to my card as 60fps video.  Obviously, the image quality degrades each time a step up the frame rate while shooting slow motion.  My thought is to thak my video shot at 240fps (recorded as 60fps) and place it on a 30fps timelined, thus doubling the slow motion effect, yet keeping the image quality higher and preserving each individual, uniqued frame of video.  I've tried several different ways of doing this but I keep getting the same result.  When I change the speed to 50% on the timeline, I get the frame blending effect (1 - 12 - 2 - 23 - 3 - 34.)  When I turn the frame blending effect off, every other frame is duplicated.  In other words, when I click through the video frame by frame, they play like so...  1 - 11 - 2 - 22 -3 - 33.  That's a long way to go to say that I need help dropping 60fps video onto a 30fps timeline and preserving each and every complete frame.  When I use it in my 30fps project, I will double the slow motion effect while maintaining the higher image quality of the lower setting.  I've been editing on FCP for years and I'm sure I'm missing something really simple.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the cam output is 60p, convert it to ProRes first, then open up the file in Cinema Tools and conform it to 30p (or 24p).
When played on a 30p (29.97) timeline, the file will play at 1/2 the speed of the 60p original file with all frames intact.
Something to keep in mind - Cinema Tools changes the file you bring in (destructive edit) so don't do this on the original.
    Best,
    x

  • New Sequence Question - for slow motion video

    Hi,
I'm a very new user of Premier.  I've recently had issues with choppy playback of my preview videos.  After much research I believe the issue was down to two things.  Firstly my sequence did not match my input clip, I had it set to my desired output.  Secondly, I was editing video across my network, rather than bringing it locally to my PC.  I've fixed the latter issue by copying video files to my local machine and then moving them back onto the network once I've finished editing.
The advice out there essentially seems to be to match your sequence to your primary input video.  I've done that and it helps.  However, it's raised a big question for me.  My input video is from a GoPro and is at 1080p 50fps.  I ultimately want my output video to be slowed down to 25fps (resulting in a constant slow motion effect throughout the entire sequence).
If my sequence settings are set to match the input clip (50fps) and I slow the video down by 50%, will that result in an unsmooth video?  My basic understanding is that if I slow 50fps video down by 50% then Premier will have to double the amount of frames.  Where as previously, if I slowed it down by 50% Premier had enough frames to play with as the output video was 25fps.
Hopefully my question makes sense!  Any advice on what the best approach is?  Or is this a complete non-issue when it comes to exporting the video (providing I export to a 25fps formart)?
    Thanks,

I think you said it OK, you are just missing the right words to do what you want. Let's walk through this for you, and for others that might read it later.
If you take a 50 frame per second video and put it into a sequence created from it, then slow it down 50% it doubles up each frame to achieve slow motion. Not what you want.
If you take a 50 frame per second video and put it into a 25 fps sequence, it drops half the frames to play at normal speed. Not what you want.
What you want to do is interpret the 50 fps video to 25 fps, then drop it into a 25 fps sequence. Each frame will play at 25 fps and generally be smooth as silk.
I don't have any 50 fps clips handy, but here are examples of taking 60 fps to 30 fps. (Excuse the idiot way that we Americans do things. Our 30 is actually 29.97 etc)
First, right click on the clip in the Project Panel, select Modify, and Interpret Footage. Then change the 50 to 25 - similar to this image:

  • Weird Slow motion effect with Motion4 and FCP7.

    Hi everyone,
I was testing a simple slow motion clip when I encountered a weird issue with it.
Basically the clip of a person running in a room where there is a bookshelf and the weird effect is that it looks like there is an "halo" around the person and within such "overlap" everything on that path looks "melted/vibrant" distorted.
To better clarify the issue I uploaded a sample clip here:
    http://www.vimeo.com/5891093
After doing some tests I've found a workaround to this. So the sample clip shows the problem and the portion without any problem.
The clip was shot in XDCAM EX 720p 25fps.
After ingesting and importing the MOV file into Motion I had exported the slowed clip out of Motion using the same codec XDCAM EX 720p VBR.
When I imported that MOV into FCP I got that weird effect on both canvas and final export to H.264.
As second test, instead of using the export from Motion, I decided to use the Motion project in the FCP timeline. Once rendered (as the motn clip was in the Motion Codec Decompression) as XDCAM the same issue appeared on both the canvas and final export to H.264.
At this point the strange thing was that if I opened the Motion project in the viewer it was working perfectly fine.
I then decided to export within FCP the Motion project to XDCAM 720p before instantiating it in the timeline.
So did that and I got a 720p clip that I imported in the timeline without any rendering needs.
With that clip the canvas was playing ok and so was the final export to H.264.
As the initial work in Motion 4 was ok and I didn't see any issue, I thought this might be some sort of FCP 7 issue (or some bad settings that I have on my system).
Anyway I've found my work around and just decided to share here just in case someone else could understand the behind the scene of this.
During these tests I have tried to place the Motion project on different timelines (in ProRes 422, ProRes 444) just to see whether the issue was due to a combination of factors including the XDCAM codec, but didn't fix the problem.
    Cheers,
    Armando.

Just for the record, I made another test with a different material and now I start thinking it could be a Motion4 weird behavior than an FCP7 issue.
I have shot another clip this time with an in camera slow motion (shot @60fps in XDCAM EX 720p 25pfs format), then applied to Motion4 for another 50% optical flow time remapping.
This time after checking well at Motion results, I can see the issue in the bookshelf area with vibrant/melting spots.
After importing the Motion project into FCP and then exported as self contained MOV in XDCAM EX 720p, the issue is gone as in the other tests.
I went back to the previous tests I made and checked better in Motion; the problem was slightly noticeable even there in one test.
So I guess it is Motion producing that weird output and not FCP, which seems btw fixing the issue.
    Regards,
    Armando.

  • IPhone 6 Plus IOS v8.1 Slow Motion BROKEN

Film in either of the two slow motion speeds and plays back ok on phone.  I put the files in the computer (grab the raw file via explorer), on Win 7 Professional, and played with both windows media player AND Quicktime player (up to date players) and the videos play either no slow motion, plays alternating between fast and slow, one time it played slow but had normal voice pitch, other times played slow with low voice pitch.  On youtube, they don't play in slow motion.  One I shot vertically (which I did just as a test) and it was sideways in the computer, however, youtube rotated it so it's vertical but it is not in HD and it does not play back in slow motion.  This same file that was sideways in my computer stopped playing after about 2 seconds in the computer, but played through ok in the phone.  I noticed that as the video plays in the phone, there are blue vertical lines below the left/right scrub/scroll bar for the video.  This can be set to play only a portion in slow motion.  But WHY does it start each video with the ends nudged in so the first 3 sec is regular speed and the last 2 are also reg speed also w/the slo-mo in between?  It defaults to this each time an you have to spread it out to get all slow motion..
In Win XP, some of the video files don't show up.  It shows .aae files with corresponding numbers to the videos, but most of the videos are not there.
I think this is a huge software bug that needs to be tested.  I updated the os on my new phone before I put anything into my phone.  Everything else has been perfect till this.  HELP!

You said, "...plays back ok on phone."  That's where Apple's software stops.  Your problems with Win 7, Win XP, Quicktime, and YouTube need to be addressed on forums for those programs and/or sites.  Presumably the issue has already been resolved by users on those sites, with different solutions for each.

  • Quicktime plays video in slow motion

Quicktime plays my video from a Sony NEX-3 camera [H.264 MP4 files] in slow motion. The images plays at a reduced speed, while the sound plays at full speed. One consequence is that image and sound is completely out of sync. The video plays fine in iMovie and MPEG stream clip.
I tried in two Macs: a Macbook Air (10.6.6) and a Macbook (10.6.5) and on both the video is slow motion, but on the Macbook it is extreme slow motion, while on the Macbook Air it is slight slow motion [mainly noticeable through lack of sync between image and sound].
Video from iPhone 4 plays without problems in Quicktime.
Since iMovie plays the Sony video fine, I would assume it is not a Sony video problem, but a bug in Quicktime. How do I get Apple to fix that bug?
