No. The VGA adaptor is an analog connection and the only inputs are digital Mini Display / Thunderbolt ports depending on your model. It maybe possible with a conversion box of some sort or maybe trying an HDMI to mini display port cable ($44.95) and an iPad 2. The 27' should be able to be used as a second display but the 21 is not. If you have the iPad 2, pick up the cable and the HDMI adapter and try it out. If not, return the cables within two weeks.

You'd need something to redirect the VGA signal to a DisplayPort connector on the iMac. Your other option is VGA is easily adaptable to S-Video, though its resolution is not as great as VGA and using http://www.elgato.com/ 's hardware for that. A third one is using a Remote Desktop app for the iPad. Several exist.

Yea rudegar its weird. I dont have sound either. I have read to put airave behind router but I cant find anywhere how to hook all the wires up. I have 2 ports in the back of the airport express(1 wan and 1 ethernet), 1 port on my modem and 3 ports on the airave(wan and 2 lan). I dont know which cable goes where, wan ,lan, ethernet, back of computer etc. Im an idiot when it comes to all this stuff but Im sure its simple fix but obviously not for me. I read people put modem to router to airave but dont say which port to put them in.

Actually it does. I JB'd my iPad for the sole purpose of VGA mirroring and it works GREAT, but I'd rather not have to JB with ios 5. It obviously works, Apple sells a VGA adapter. What is the big problem with making this happen.

I have now transferred another keynote file containing the unedited video to my iPad and this runs OK, so there must have been something wrong with my edited file. Next step is to re-edit the video; better luck next time.

HT1657 Using a VGA adaptor with iPad 1 for iTunes movie rentals?

I have an iPad 1 with a VGA adaptor to display supported apps on external displays like YouTube and GoodReader. I tried to use this with a rented SD movie from iTunes and I got a warning along the lines of "output device not supported for protected material." Is there a way to do play iTunes rentals on an external display from the iPad? This is simple on a MacBook.

If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.

Disable video card driver and use generic VGA

Is there a way to just use a generic VGA driver for the macbook pro? I'm having problems with my macbook pro regarding display issues and crashing. It works fine in safe mode, which disables the ati video driver. Is there a way to have the macbook pro disable the default video driver and just use a 2d accelerated generic driver?

RE: Video problems after disconnecting DVI to VGA adaptor...

I was playing a game (C&C Generals) the other day on Vista with an external monitor connected via the DVI to VGA adaptor. During the game, I decided to move my MBP so I disconnected the adaptor. The screen started flickering and I had to reset the MBP. After resetting, I tried to re-launch the game, but an error popped up saying that I don't have DirectX 8.1 or greater (actually, I have DirectX 10) or don't have a supported video card (I have Nvidia 8600 GT). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Bootcamp drivers and resetting my PRAM, to no avail. Any ideas? I tested my MBP on other games (e.g. Company of Heroes) and it works fine -- the only time the video card gives me trouble is when I try to launch C&C Generals!

Yes blaming your MBP is your first step, but completely illogical. Have you checked the System Preferences>Display? Have you set it up correctly?
Plug and Play, does not mean that an ancient monitor (anything on VGA is several generations ago) will automatically take over your MBP to create the perfect profile. You need to fix things.

I can't export ipad video to my imac

When i connect ipad 2 to imac i can see all photos and only short video( less than 20 min). the other ones, maybe more than 30 minutes, i can't see them and export them.
Why the ****? They took so much space and don't want to delete them!

Have you thought about using Photo Stream? I don't use it - you need to enable iCloud if you want to use Photo Stream. This article has a link to it at the end.

I suspect - as you probably do as well - that the issue might be due to the size of the files. Have you considered a third party app? Look at PhotoSync - I don't use it, but you can check it out and see if it will work for you.

Its too bad that your phone is out of warranty because this is most likely a manufacturer fault. You need to take it back to Apple. If it is not a manufacturing fault, then go to any shop that your network owns and talk to them about this problem.

Rental movies not showing in Ipad Video App after moving to Ipad in Itunes

Despite having completed this process successfully a number of times before, my Ipad and/or Itunes has suddenly decided not to show my rental movies. I've tried the following;
1. checked I'm up to date software wise
2. rebooted Ipad & itunes
3. deleted and then re synced
4. checked home sharing address
5. rebooted again
6. search the whole Ipad

In which format have you published the output? Is it HTML 5 or MP4 Video format?
And, what kind of video is it? Is it recording done in captivate or have you inserted the video in ypur project?

I am using ArkMC app to play music from my iPad on my sony bravia tv. But when I come out of the app to say use safari, the music stops streaming. I really want to play music and use my iPad together. Any ideas?.

the app have to support background play or when one move on it will stop playing
if you use an appletv you can use airplay but it will not just play the music it will play any sound your ipad would otherwise play so if you start the music and expect to be able to play a game on the ipad while the music play you will be disappointed
