Output Preview & Pages Scrolling

Hi!
When i turn on/off any ink in Output Preview, this window become active and i can't scroll document with keys "Page Up", "Page Down".
How to solve this problem?

Correct, in Acrobat 7 the focus did not change. However there have been a lot of changes to the functionality of the dialog itself, especially in Acrobat 9, it's possible something there has required this focus change. However currently we need to change the focus ourselves in order to scroll through the files in the way you describe.
There's also a bug report form if you want to report this directly to Adobe http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • How do I set the Simulation Profile to CMYK by default in the Output Preview Window

I've just upgraded to Adobe PDF X Pro from Acrobat 6 Pro. In Acrobat 6 I could just go to Advanced> Separation Preview and it would let me check off colours in CMYK, this was useful for me to check that Blacks were full black and not registration. I work in Newspaper media and always check if Ads are using the correct colours in the Ads they supply us.
Now here's my problem, every time I open up a new pdf Ad from clients and go the output preview it always shows me the colours in Adobe RGB by default. This is very annoying especially when I have to check a ton of Ads by clicking and scrolling down to say 'Photoshop 5 Default CMYK' just so I can check the Black. Is there any way to have it like it was in Acrobat 6? And just have it always show me the output preview in CMYK by default?
    Edit: Typos.

Ok, after fiddling around I've figured it out. Edit> Preferences> Colour Management> Under Working Spaces Change CMYK: PhotoShop 5 Default CMYK. Now all pdfs show up as CMYK when I click on output preview.

  • Acrobat 7 Professional Output Preview Preferences

I think the new "Output Preview" tool in Acrobat 7 Professional is GREAT! Especially the ability to check "Total Ink Coverage".
But, what I would like to see is the ability to set a preference for this tool. Seems it always defaults to 280. In our shop we are perfectly able to handle 320, so it would be nice to set it up to that instead.
The tool seems a wee bit buggy when switching totals sometimes.
And could Adobe also add this "Total Ink Feature" to inDesign CS as well.

Agreed again. I work for a newsprint publisher, and it's a pain to have to reset 280 to 240 over and over again for each page or file opened. Either a way to remember last setting or reset the default would be much appreciated.

  • Acrobat X Pro Output Preview

I just upgraded to Acrobat X Pro and I'm running it on Max OS X 10.5.8. When I click on the check boxes of the color separations in the "output preview" it doesn't do anything. Instead I have to hold down the mouse button for a extened period of time, let go and then it will work. I do prepress work and I use the color separations in "output preview" to make sure blacks are truly going to be black. I go through a number of pages in a day and having to hold down the mouse button, instead of just clicking the checkbox can be time consuming. I have never had this issue with Acrobat 9 or any previous versions. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
I found a thread similar to my issue, but the suggestion was to increase the double click speed in the preferences, this did not help.

I also have to make sure gray images are real gray not cmyk gray. Is there a preflight for that?

In the PReflight tool there is a checkup that can automaticaly control black texts, this is less time consuming than doing it manually…;-)

  • [IN CS4] Proof Colours - that can be used to preview pages in print Greyscale?

    HI!
Although I have the library Greyscale ICC profile can not I use it in the option Preview Colors.
Can be used this options to preview CMYK pages in print Greyscale or other monochrome prints?

No. ID doesn't have a grayscale space. You can force a conversion to grayscale from the print dialog, but you can't get a color conversion to grayscale inside ID. Placed grayscales are color managed as if they are on the black plate of CMYK when Proof Colors is turned on and embedded grayscale profiles are ignored.
You could export a CMYK PDF and then preview the conversion to grayscale in Acrobat via the Simulation Profile in the Output Preview panel.

  • Output Preview showing confused results

Hello all, Please bear with me as I attempt to explain a very odd occurrence I am seeing in Acrobat X. Also, my assumption is that this is something in the authoring tool confusing Acrobat, as if I attempt this using only Adobe products I cannot replicate the weird result. However, I don't know enough about PDF authoring to know what could possibly be in the file to confuse acrobat so much as to give these inconsistent results.
I have created a very simple PDF with 2 pages. Each page has a black box that was created with 100% black. If I open the Df in Acrobat X and set the view to Two Page View and then bring up my Output preview and turn off black both pages show as blank (as expected).
However, if I open the page in Single Page view, then when I go to Output preview and turn off black page 1 is completely blank (as expected), but when I go to page 2, there is still a gray box and the values are showing me this is built with a 4-color black.
And then, if I use the Object Inspector tool, it will tell me that the black box is 100%k. And then this changes things when I go back to separations. Now separations shows this box as gone with black unchecked.
Here is a link to the example pdf if anyone is able to find the issue causing this strange behavior. Thanks,
    http://107.1.178.195/test-K.pdf

I think you are measuring the image preview from Photoshop when you open your rastered Photoshop file in Acrobat. You should probably save your original Illustrator file as a PDF (not print to PDF). When you open the PDF in Photoshop, you are converting your vector file to an Image, which I think also creates a low-res preview of the actual image (which has various uses). If you check your Photoshop preferences, you might be able to turn the preview creation off, but I really wouldn't worry about it. As a test, save your original Illustrator file as a .tiff and see how that works. Unless you are adding something in Photoshop that can't be added in Illustrator or InDesign, it's usually better to keep everything vector, as much as possible.

  • PDF Output Preview Inconsistent

I have created a document in Framemaker and printed it out to a PDF.  When I check the PDF Output Preview to see if there is any color by turning off Process Black, I find an image that shows up as gray.  If I then scroll to the bottom of my PDF and then come back to this image, it no longer shows up.  I've had another person in the office check the file and the same thing happens.  The image in question was created in Illustrator before being imported into Framemaker.  All the colors were set to black.
Is this a bug in how the PDF is displaying the Output Preview?  Or is there an issue with the image?

I ordered a book a couple of weeks ago with the advice of AppleCare people responsible for printed product, that the PDF which is seen in the purchase process is what the final output would look like.
However, and to my disappointment, it was not the case. Indeed, the PDF was cropped on the edges. The AppleCare people ordered a reprint to see if any change would appear, but unfortunately it was not the case.
Now the matter is within AppleCare quality control's jurisdiction and I do not know yet what will be their conclusion. I'll keep you posted if you are interested.

  • Output Preview Simulation Profile Automatically Shows Embedded  Profile

I am curious if there is a way to have the embedded profile in a PDF to be the 'default' simulated profile in the Output Preview?
Without thishappening faulty percentages may be shown, or if a BW file has an embedded BW profile, but the simulated profile is a CMYK profile the file is now 4-color (in the preview only, obviously the file is truly BW).
Yes, I know we can look at the 'Object Inspector' to find out if, and what, profile is embedded (if any) and then change the Simulation Profile to match, but it would be nice to have that done automatically if possible.

My point is that, to start with, what should the profile be if the PDF contains 17 profiles? What if it contains 2 different profiles with the same name? Your task may be simple, but designing it in the software is anything but. Also, getting all the profiles could take many minutes for a PDF with tens of thousands of pages.

  • Output preview works only when preview dialogue box is open?

The output preview setting certainly takes effect, but only when the output preview dialogue box is open, so that accurately previewing images in reading mode is not possible; it's only possible to see a preview by going to an image and opening the OP dialogue box. As soon as the OP dialogue box is closed, the image reverts back to its pre-preview state. This can't be right!

Thanks for your feedback. I had tried to navigate with the dialogue box open using the "hand", which didn't work; I see now that you can still go from page to page with the box open using either keyboard command or menu arrows.
I was actually incorrect in referring to "reading mode"; I meant to say "full screen" mode. And again, since the cursor doesn't act as a cursor but rather as a pinpoint when the dialogue box is open, I incorrectly assumed that all navigation (including full screen mode) was disabled. This, I now see, is not the case.

  • Ere is the output preview dialog?

I was wanting to check for ink coverage, but the help page says  go to output preview dialog. adobe help pages are a challenge because they tell you to go to places and don't tell you where they are.

    What version of Acrobat Pro?

  • On the Comcast email site, on the "Inbox Preview" page, if I click on "View Entire Inbox" or on a particular message, Firefox will just return me to the Inbox P

On the Comcast mail site, I cannot get past the "Inbox Preview" page. If I hit anything, including "View Entire Inbox" or on a particular message, or anything else, I'll just be returned to the "Inbox Preview" page. This only happens on Firefox. When it started happening, I finally gave up and tried Internet Explorer, which works fine. I'd prefer to access email on Firefox, so please tell me how to correct this.
I don't know if this is related, but immediately before this started happening, I may have hit something on my laptop, which caused the Comcast email screen to magnify to the point where I could not view the message window on messages. I couldn't figure out how reverse this, so I did the above (went to IE, which was fine). When I next attempted to access Comcast email from Firefoxe, the site was no longer magnified, but I had the above problem with being unable to get past the Inbox Preview page.

  • How do I access the iTunes Preview page with a web browser?

Does anyone out there know how to access the iTunes app preview page with a web browser?  So far the only way I've been able to get there is by Googling the app with the term 'iTunes preview'.  Is that really the only way?  The iTunes page itself has no obvious link to the app list.
    Thanks.

Thanks, but I should have been more specific.  I was trying to access the iTunes app preview page on my PC through Chrome.  While I have an iPad, it's not convenient to have to refer to it every time I want to discuss an iOS app.

  • I can no longer open my Comcast email when I launch from Firefox - it takes me to the email preview page but will not allow me to open the inbox . Does not happen with Internet Explorer.

This started last month - when I go to my comcast account, I'm able to log on and view my account but can not open my email inbox. When I enter my user name and password, I'm taken to the "Email Preview" page so that I can see a partial view of the inbox but when I click on "View Entire Inbox" it jumps to a page showing that it's loading but goes right back to the preview page - I can't open any of the emails. This does not happen when I use Internet Explorer or Firefox on my older laptop.
