Output report format rtf  in IE5

Hello.
I want to run a report and have the output in RTF format.
This works fine, but when Internet Explorer
ask me where to save the file the filename
is rwcgi60, not myrep.rtf from the parameter
desname=myrep.rtf.
I have version 6i.

hello,
that's how it works if you do destype=cache ! the desname
parameter is ignored if destype=cache and the browser interprets
the fact, that rwcgi60 is the "source" of the file as the fact
that this must be the file-name.
this behavior is true for all content that is streamed through a
cgi-executable or similar technology.

  • EDQ  Deduplication Output Report Format

    Hey,
    My questions pertains to the outputs that can be generated from the Deduplication processor.  For our project, we are looking at duplicate records based on numerous rules.  We will then need to analyze the relationships of the dedupe process to figure out if various records are a Match or No Match.  Now the only thing that we will be doing in EDQ is having someone go into the tool and specify relationships to be No Match.  We will never go in and say Match as this is being done behind the scenes by inactiving a duplicate account.  By doing that, it will then (99%) of the time never turn up on the new report when we re-run the process again.  With that being said, the business has informed me that they don't like the Relationships Output as it is confusing and when numerous relationships occur for 1 or more records, it can be cumbersome (see attachment).  They do however like the Match Groups Output.  However, to do get a report for the Match Groups Output you need to specify relationships to be Match which they will not be doing.
    With that being said, is there a way that we can generate an output that looks like the Match Groups Output even though we will never actually go in and Match within EDQ?  Let me know if this makes sense or if additional information is needed.
    Thanks,
    Jordan

    There is also a Review Group Id, which will be common for all linked records in a review group, whether linked by Match or Review decisions. Obviously as soon as a decision is No Match, the match groups output changes.
    Are you using Match Review to make the No Match decisions?

  • Generating BIP report in RTF format generates blank report

    Hi all,
    When generating a BIP report in RTF format the report output is blank!?
    If I run the report in any other format the report displays the data correctly.
    We're running siebel 8.1.1.2 and BIP 10.1.3.4.1.
    When looking at the size of the report when the 'File Download' window appears it seem like the report contains data as the size is 62KB, compared to the pdf format which do display data is 20KB. The output generates the amount of pages that is needed for the report, but all pages are blank.
    The report is an activity List report with just one for-each statement in it.
    Has anybody come across the same?
    Regards,
    Hakan

    Hi alka,
    To invoke Word automatically, use command
    line options DESTYPE=CACHE,
    DESFORMAT=RTF and MIMETYPE=application/msword.
    This is an example URL: http://webserver:80/cg-bin/rwcgi60.exe?module
    =test.rdf&userid=scott/tiger@mydb&
    destype=cache&desformat=rtf&mimetype=application/msword&server=myrepserver
    1. Check the appropriate mimetype setting for Word by Starting Windows Explorer,
    choose View -> Options from the menu, go to the File Type tab, find Microsoft
    Word Document in this list, click Edit, and get the value for Content Type
    (MIME). This is the value that needs to be used in the MIMETYPE command line
    option, and it will typically be application/msword, but may differ on
    different machines.

  • BI Publisher -RTF Template issue: Output report not maintaining text with bullets and numberings.

    Hi All,
    I am currently working with generating reports using BI Publisher. My issue is that when I will preview the output(in PDF and RTF) format's  of the newly created template, then, if the data coming from DB have some bullets or numbering, then the BI publisher output will ignore the same and will show the complete data as one single line.
    For example if the data in the DB Field is like below:
    The XYZ has the below sub-parts:
    ABC : This again has two parts:
    abc1
    abc2
    CDE
    FGH
    Then  this data will appear as below in the BI Publisher output report's:
    The XYZ has the below sub-parts: •   ABC : This again has two parts:  o     abc1  o   abc2   •    CDE    •   FGH
    I want the format of the data (with bullets and number's) should be maintained in the BI Publisher Report as well, but I am unable to find any solution for the same.
    Any help on the same is much appreciated.
    Deep Bhoj

    in your query will u get all the columns always null when column1 is null
    in your template for each group u can write like below
    think G_1 as group in your xml
    <?for-each:G_1[COLUMN1!='']?><?COLUMN1?><?COMMENTS?><?end for each?>
    or if u are not sure u get null in both places every time u can write like below
    <?for-each:G_1[COLUMN1!='' and COMMENTS!='']?><?COLUMN1?><?COMMENTS?><?end for each?>

  • XML publisher output report in excel format

    Hi
    I have created reports using XML Publisher, the default output preview format was PDF. While submitting the program, in the layout, I changed the format to EXCEL,it give me output in Excel. Now I need to send the output report as an attachment through e-mail.For this I have used a UNIX shell script to send the mail using uuencode and mailx commands.
    I have fetched the name of the report from table using the following command.
    SELECT file_name
    FROM FND_CONC_REQ_OUTPUTS
    WHERE FCR.CONCURRENT_REQUEST_ID = p_req_id;
    The name of the report is : XXBG_PO_IFACE_SO_RPT_8556321_1.EXCEL
    Following is the command to send the e-mail.
    (cat $MAIL_BODY; uuencode XXBG_PO_IFACE_SO_RPT_8556321_1.EXCEL XXBG_PO_RPT.xls) | mailx -m -s "$MAIL_SUBJECT" $mail_id
    I am receiving the mail with the attachement, but when i am trying to open the attachement it is throwing an error and nothing is displayed in the excel sheet.
    Note: When I am sending the mail,in similar way, with 'PDF' attachement it is perfectly fine and the attachement is opening correctly.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Madhu kumar

    Hi schavali,
    The error message is as follows
    Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file "https://xxxxxxx/Inbox/XXBG_PO_RPT.xls.
    There are several possible reasons:
    --The file path doesnot exist.
    --The file is being used by another program.
    --The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
    After throwing the error, it open s a balck excel sheet.
    Hi hsawwan,
    I have gone through the thread. I am able to see the report when I click the output tab on the concurrent request screen.
    But the problem is, when I am sending the output report as an excel attachment then I am facing the problem.
    There might be some problem with uuenocde or mailx command.
    Thanks
    Madhu Kumar.

  • Report in RTF format not displaying

  • WebI report in rtf/doc format using BO XI R3

    Hi,
       Is it possible to generate webi/deski reports in rtf/word doc using Report Engine SDK(Java). I am able to generate pdf and xls using OutputFormatType.PDF and  OutputFormatType.XLS like below.
    binaryView = (BinaryView)documentInstance.getView(OutputFormatType.XLS);
    binaryView = (BinaryView)documentInstance.getView(OutputFormatType.PDF);
    I think i can generate XML too using the above method. But i would like to generate word/rtf and if possible TXT too.
       I am using BO XI 3.1.

    Hi Shameer,
    Unfortunately, RTF or Word is not a valid format with WebI or DeskI documents.
    Please kindly refer to the SupportedViews Interface documentation of the API Reference for the Report Engine Java SDK.
    The Report Engine Java SDK API Reference for XI 3.x is can be downloaded from the following link:

  • 3.0 Shared Component - Report Format - all PDF

    Greetings,
    Details
    I have been working with the REPORTS - REPORT QUERIES section of APEX 3.0
    The testing I have been doing is very simple, but I am running into a bit of a stumper.
    I have created 4 report queries on the EMP table (SELECT * FROM EMP) that all use the same REPORT LAYOUT. The RTF file which is the template is a very simple - show all columns and rows for the EMP table (14 rows).
    I have set each of the 4 report layouts to a different format.
    1 - PDF
    1 - EXCEL
    1 - WORD
    1 - HTML
    I am NOT using the ITEM to dynamically set the format.
    I can TEST each of the reports in the shared component area, and they test OK with a success rate of 75%.
    The EXCEL format does not export correctly. (using Excel 2002 on the client) It is a bit of a mess. (Works in the XML publisher template builder on the client.. so the format is not the issue.)
    More curious is the behavior when I put this application. I have created a LIST of the 4 report formats. All 4 return the PDF format when used.
    To see the Application:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=34096
    Question Summary:
    1 - Has anyone run with and tested the RTF style report layouts out to Excel?
    2 - The approach described usees 4 report queries against 1 layout. Is this a VALID use of the report functionality?
    3 - Why would all the reports try to use PDF when they test in the correct formats?
    Best Regards and Thank You.
    -- Tim

    Tim,
    The Excel output is not strictly XLS, it's actually HTML formatted in a way that Excel understands and through setting the MIME-types we make it open in Excel. I have to try reproducing your specific problem with Excel 2002. If you could send me your RTF layout and the end-result ([email protected]), I can take a look.
    Your approach using 4 different queries with the same layout is perfectly fine. Ideally of course, you would not have to replicate them same query four times, so we are considering a shared query concept for future version of Application Express.
    You specific problem with the output format being PDF at runtime appears to be a bug, I'll investigate further. Meanwhile one work-around would be to use a report region instead. If you're using the same SQL query as the source, you can associate the same report layout (on the report print attributes page). You could also create a "container" page for that report region, that's never actually called by the end user, and then have a button pointing to the URL below for printing. It would then work just like your report queries, only that you now would get the requested format:
    f?p=&APP_ID.:[REPORT PAGE ID]:&SESSION.:FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R[REPORT REGION ID]
    so if your app ID is 34096 and your "container" page e.g. 99, and on page 99 your report region ID would be 1234567890, then use this URL as the button target:
    f?p=&APP_ID.:99:&SESSION.:FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R1234567890
    Hope this helps,
    Marc

  • Cross Tab report in RTF

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a cross tab report in RTF, it is a time sheet report and the data needs to be print based on the days of week
    the report should print in below format
                                  Week: Dec 08 TO Dec 14
          Employee                 Sun          Mon          Tue          Wed          Thu          Fri          Sat
                                         Dec08     Dec09       Dec10     Dec11         Dec12     Dec13     Dec14
              EMP1                    0                0               8            0                8
              EMP2                    0                0               8            9               10
    I could get the correct grouping of week range and dates, however the number of hours are not printing in correct cell,
    for ex. EMP1 has worked 2 days (dec 10th & 11th) but my rtf output is printing that number of hours under Dec 08th & dec 09 th respectively.
    Need your help in understanding what is wrong with my RTF template.

    The RTF and XML is available in below link,
    https://app.box.com/s/vk2tb5xpuce9ccyvpz0c
    In the XML the data is available for only a few days for each user, however when there is no working hours for a user in a day of the week we have to keep 0 hrs else the number of hours worked on that day.
    Thanks

  • Difference between pdf and html report format

    Why HTML report printouts truncate from the right-end side, compare to the pdf report format ?, do i need to change anything
    while running report through HTML format

    The printing from html output is majorly affected by browser settings. Once you try to change the left and right margins in page setup before printing, I solved this problem in this way , it may work for you. Let me know if it works or if you overcome it by other ways.

  • Report format is not changing in IE

    Hi All,
    I am working with Report Designer. when i am executing the report, initially report is executing properly for the first time and givining define format. but if i am doing any change in report format in report designer the executed report do not capture the changes. the report generated on the web portal showing me the same output generated for the first time. if i am creating another copy of the same report by "SAVE AS" and then executing it, then again it is showing me the proper output for the first time only but it is not working if i am doing any changes in format.
    Kindly guide for that.
    Regards,
    Kaushik

    Hi Kaushik
    maybe you've already solved your problem, otherwise here's a program which most probably would solver your problem:
    report  zicm_cache_invalidate_all.
    call function 'ICM_CACHE_INVALIDATE_ALL'
      exporting
        global              = 1
      exceptions
        icm_op_failed       = 1
        icm_get_serv_failed = 2
        icm_no_http_service = 3
        others              = 4.
    if sy-subrc <> 0.
      message id sy-msgid type 'E' number sy-msgno
              with sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
    endif.
    Setting global to 0 would invalidate only local... It's the same like invalidating the cache thru SMICM

  • PO Output Report

    HI Gurus,
    we need a report for the PO Out
    Example for every 4 hrs, the buyer what to know, whether all is PO has be sent to the vendor by email/fax ?
    In short, Output log they want in a report format?

    ME9F transaction itself can be used to find out this information. If a proper formatted report is required, you can modify the output of ME9F to the way your customer wants..
    Alternately you can also execute SOST transaction where-in you would find the status of the e-mails & faxes and when it was actually sent out of SAP. You can preparea report out of this in a proper format that will be value add to the purchasing department
