Output type question

Hi Friends,
I need your help. Currently I need to analyse what are the output types for print output and fax on production. I did that and I noticed that the Output type is NEU for both the mediums, i.e Print output and Fax.
My questions is if NEU is the o/p type for both, then how do we differentiate that a supplier should be only faxed, or only emailed, or both ?? What setting/ config could it be ?
Your ideas will be appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Max

@ kalyan Gorla -
Sorry but this is not what I am looking for. Let me explain once again.
I have a production system right now in which NEU is being used for both Print and Fax at the same time. i want to know how are these both being used at the same time. for example, I have a purchase order with 2 output types in the message tab. i.e NEU with print and NEU with fax. Now in our project we want to use this NEU but the business requirement is to just send a  print and not fax by using NEU to the suppliuer. So I want to understand how are 2 NEUs being used at the same time.

  • Question reg. output type

I copied and modified sapscript MEDRUCK for three forms RFQ, Scheduling agreement and Contract (all are MM module). Now I am trying to set up output type for these forms in NACE transaction. Can you tell me what applications and output types to chose from there?
(I know for RFQ, it is application EA and output type NEU, what about for the other two?)
    I appreciate your input.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks Anurag. I too think it is EV. What about the output type?
The forms I modified for Scheduling Agreement and Contract are almost the same. I think just by assigning to a different output type, the data flow can be different for these two forms? Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Thanks a lot.

  • One question on triggering output type....

    Hi Experts,
If we configure the output type with option u2013 4 (SPRO)u20184 Send immediately (When saving the application)u2019 and then in the condition record (NACE) we maintain option u2013 3.
So finally which one will be taken in the document??
    Thank you very much.

    Hi there,
As per the system logic, anything maintained in condition technique, system will default the values from the condition records. So in your condition records in NACE, change the transmission medium inthe condition records.
One thumb rule. , whatever the settings are there in the condition type, maintain the same in condition records sothat system doesnot behave in a peculiar way.

  • IDoc output type not getting configured in IDoc-File scenario

    Hello
I am having IDoc to file scenario where I want to post Delivery Document to legacy system. For this I have configured following EDI configuration for Delivery through NACE transaction
    1] Created output type
2] Created partner function as EDI LS for this output type
3] Configured RSNASTED as Processing Routines for output type
4] Included this output type in the Header output procedure
5] Configured XI system as the partner in partner profile with appropriate Message control
Still when I attempt to include this output type in the Delivery it gives me "Output for partner could not be configured". The detail message says "In Customizing, the 'CannotBeChanged' indicator has been set for output type".
I checked in SPRO but could not find such flag.
Does anyone had came across such output type configuration.
    Thanks in advance.
I know this question might be not appropriate in XI forum as it comes under EDI but it has become necessary for XI profs -:)

    Hi,
    Please check the following
    1. Condition Table
SPRO > Material Management> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Condition Tables->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    Select:
    Purchasing Doc. Type,
    Purch. Organization,
    Vendor
    2. Access Sequences
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Access Sequences->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    3. Message Type
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Types->Define Message Type for Purchase Order
Copy NEU to ZNEU or YNEU
    4. Message Determination Schemas
    4.1. Message Determination Schemas
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Maintain Message Determination Schema
4.2. Assign Schema to Purchase Order
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Assign Schema to Purchase Order
    5. Partner Roles per Message Type
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control-> Partner Roles per Message Type ->Define Partner Role for Purchase Order
    6. Condition Record
    Navigation Path: SAP Menu-> Logistics -> Material Management -> Purchasing-> Master data->Messages-> Purchase Order-> MN04-> Create
Now you create PO (ME21N) and save it. Go to ME22N and print the PO by giving output type ZNEU or YNEU.

  • MM - PO - new output type

    Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to give the user the possibility to mail/fax/print a PO. Printing is no problem, I linked the smartform to output type NEU and that works as a charm, but I don't get how to give the user the choice...
SOmeone out there who can help ?
    tia !
    Björn

    ok, thanks !!
Still have one question : mailing won 't work. I did all necessary steps (I think) : defined in nace type 5, mail address for the vendor, mail address for the user who prints/mails the PO. But when I change the message to type 5, and do print preview, the system always asks me for an ouput type and so on..
I guess I'm doing something wrong, but I don 't have a clue what...

  • Can you tell the output type within template?

    Hi all,
we're using Oracle apps 11.5.10 and we have the usual leading zero problem when exporting to Excel.
From what I've read, Excel uses the 'TypeGuessRows' registry setting to read through a specify number of rows to decide whether a column is numeric and then drops the leading zeros. I've also seen the proposed solution of putting a quote mark to trick Excel. We have a requirement to display the right numbers including leading zeroes in both PDF and Excel. So now I'm down to 2 choices.
    1) create a separate template for PDF without the quote or my question
    - Within a template, can you tell what the runtime output type is? Does the XML Publisher engine provide a way to obtain this value within a template?

    Hi Mike,
    I used
    <fo:bidi-override direction="ltr" unicode-bidi="bidi-override"><?D_INVOICE_NUM?></fo:bidi-override>
and it still didn't work. The invoice number is alphanumeric an sometimes just contains numbers with leading zeroes which is what I'm testing with.
    Cheers

  • How to extract error message for each output type.

    Hi All,
Need your advice on the problem that I have.
    Expected Solution:
    1. Create an extra column for displaying header output error message from VF02 into a report program.
    Steps that i have did:
    1. Go to transaction VF02.
    2. Enter a billing document number.
    3. Hit enter. Click "Goto" > Header> Output
    4. Click on the status that is red colour. Click on "processing log".
    5. Press "F1" on the red colour message type. (Found out that it is a structure).
Need your advice on the question that I have:
    1) How do we know that which "not successfully" process output type belong to which error message class?

    Hi Brad Bohn,
Thanks for your advice. I am so sorry about that. Thanks so much for your advice. And i have follow your advices and steps given by you. Appreciate it very much.
But for this issue about how to extract message for each output type. I have follow your steps by using SE30 to trace VF03 and I managed to found out that they are using this function module "WFMC_PROTOCOL_SHOW". Need your advice on this, how do we know each different output type with different error message is pulled from?
From my further research and in depth debugging into this function module, i  manage to find this global internal table "PROTO_TAB" which stores all the text messages for each output.  How does this internal table is populated?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to display error message in Billing Output Type (VF03).

    Hi,
could anyone suggest how do i display error message via billing (VF03) output type?

i want to display an error message from my sapscript program.
    *determine discount
    it_zmas-discount = it_zmas-gross_value - zkwert.
    MODIFY it_zmas.
    ELSE.
MESSAGE ID 'Z0' TYPE 'S' NUMBER '999' WITH 'Please maintain cust pricing grp 34 for ' wa_zmas-matnr.
    p_proc_screen = 'X'.
    ENDIF.
when user enter billing doc no in vf03, user will click 'issue output type' and select their output type to be printed out.
if there's an error in the print program, it should promt out an error message and do not allowed user to print preview and print the form out.
what i had did previously, i prompt the error message and disable the print preview button. i think its not a good solution and i am not sure how to stop the form from not printing it out.
i was wondering is there any user exit of the output type, vofm (which i had this solutions from my previous question, but unsure how to use it) or any other solutions.
    please help.

  • Triggering output type when sales order is saved

    Hello all,
I have a small question. Whenever I create a drop ship sales order it triggers a custom output type and prints the form by default even though this output type hasnt been saved in the sales order messages. Similarly from a drop ship PO when it is created with reference to the drop ship order and a requisition it tries to call this cusotm output type and prints the form.
Please advice how to find the settings and make it not print this form.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
There are few other custom output types configured for a sales order. I wonder why it picks this particular output type and prints the form.
If I uncheck 'Print Immediately' then would it stop from just printing or even calling the form too.
Please advice if there might be any other config which tells to call this particular form whenever a drop ship sales order is created.

  • IDOC output type configuration

    Dear All,
We are integrating with another system for warehouse management and delivery note print out will be taken from third party system once delivery is created in SAP. When delivery is created, and IDOC DESDAV will be sent to third party system which carries all necessary information for delivery note.
My question is, to trigger DESDAV IDOC  I have copied LALE output type and changed some setting. I have maintained condition record .
The settings are : Access Sequence  : 0008, Access to condition, Send with periodically scheduled job, Tran mission medium: Distribution ALE,
Since the process is as i am sending to third party system not to a specific partner , i have deleted the partners assigned in the standard " SP" and left the field blank in partner function.
When i create delivery, this output put is appearing twice in Determination analysis,  and not appearing automatically. when i maintain manually, system is asking for partner(SP).
How do i maintain the third party system as my partner. I have two questions here
    1) Output type is not appearing in Delivery
    2) should i maintain the third party system as sold to party SP or LS(logical system)
    Kindly guide me.
Note: I have maintained the output type in IDOC - DESDAV and when IDOC triggered manually, IDOC is getting generated.
    Regards
    Fazal

    Hi Santhosh,
I am able to trigger IDOC now and below are my setting.
Maintain Partner function LS in output type
Maintain partner role "LS" in WE20 which i have not maintained.
Creation of condition record with Dispatch time - Send immediately
Now i am able to trigger IDOC when Delivery is created. Thank you for help.

  • Output type not created for outbound delivery while using SHMNT05 idoc type

    Hi Experts,
Please help me to solve the below issue.
Problem:- I want to to generate an IDOC(using type SHPMNT06) once the PGI is done for an outbound delivery.
Already it is working fine when used DESADV.DESADV01 or DESADV.DELVRY07. But now the output type is not getting created when used SHMNT.SHPMNT06. I have created a separate output type ZPJ7 just as a mirror copy of the earlier output type(ZPJ6) used for DESADV.DELVRY07.
Question:- Is it possible to use idoc SHPMNT06 instead for DESADV01 or DELVRY07? If yes then what are steps to be followed?
The reason why SHPMNT06 idoc is planned:- We have a scenario to send outbound delivery to 3rd party system via XI. If the outbound delivery is for National(Not for Export) and PGI is completed then send the idoc straight forward to XI otherwise DO NOT generate the idoc, but just create the delivery. Collect all the deliveries in a transport and send it in a shipment. The shipment details can be sent using SHPMNT idoc. Now from XI perspective, if we can utlitze the same SHPMNT idoc for the National delivery(1st case) then perhaps this will require less effort. Hence shipment idoc is required to be generated when the delivery is created and PGI is done.
Also it would be great if you can advice some better way to solve above mentioned scenario.
    Many Thanks,
    Sanjay

There could be several reasons. Go to the document and in the extras-output check output determination analysis in the processing log.
If the output has been created successfully then you need to see your printer determination. Ask basis to check it up. If the problem is that even the print preview is not coming. Check your communication in the output analysis and ensure LOCL is selected. Any other printer will need to be configured.
If thats done already then check whether you have maintianed the condition record.
If that too is done then check whether your output type has been assigned to the output procedure and that the output type is listed in the procedure.

  • EDI - 753Routing Request and 754 Routing Instructions transactions- what SAP ECC6 EDI output type, msg type, msg code, basis idoc is best practice to generate the idoc?

One of our Trading Partner wishes to implement the 753 Routing Request and 754 Routing Instructions.  Can anyone give me best practice answer the following Questions?  We are on SAP ECC6 R3
    What Application? i.e. V2, V7?
What output condition to use?  i..e. LALE, LAT2, SEDI????
    What Message type?  i.e SHPADV?
What Basic Idoc Type? i.e SHPMNT05?
    What Message Code?  i.e. SHPM?
    What Process Code?  i.e. SHPM??
    What Function Module? i.e. IDOC_OUTPUT_SHPMNT??
Does the SAP Transpotation Module have to be configured for this to be implemented?
Your comments are greatly appreciated, we have until Nov 1 to be compliant?

    Good Morning,
While I did not get any responses from my question, yes, I was able to determine what needed to be configured.   I hope the below will help you: This is for SAP ECC6
The output application for the 753 Routing Request is "V7"
    The output type is "SEDI"
    Transmission medium is "6"
The Basic Idoc type is "Shipmnt05"
when setting up your Partner Profile (WE20) add:Message Partner Role "SP" with Message type "SHPADV', Message coed "753", Basic Type "SHPMNT05", Message Control add Application "V7", Message type "SEDI", Process Code "SHPM".
also http://scn.sap.com/thread/698368 pages 14 and 15 were helpful.
I have not configured the Inbound 754.  For now the inbound 754 Routing Instructions will be emailed to our traffic department.
    Thank you,
    Have a great day,

  • Default output type in purchase order

    Dear All
i have short  and easy question:
how can i set one output type(like NEU) as default in purchase order as when create P.O output type automatically comes from customizing?
    best regards
    R.T

    Hi,
If you have done all customizing setting & maintain condition record for message type in t.code : MN04. Now Just fine tune the output (message) type in following path:
SPRO>MM>Purchasing>Message>Output control>Message tyoes> Define message type for Purchase Order-->Fine-Tuned Control: Purchase Order
Now here select the check box corresponding to your output(message) type NEU to have print output for this message type is automatically displayed & save.
Now try creating PO & u will have default message type.

  • Purchase Order Output Types

    Hi,
My requirement is that clients needs different header in Purchase Order Printout based on Plant. Means for each Plant we need a particular Header in Purchase Order.
I have found that for Purchase Order, Standard Output Type NEU is there and we attach either the standard Layout 'MEDRUCK' or custom layout to it.
Now I am thinking of making multiple Custom Layout(Copies of MEDRUCK). And also making a separate Output type for each Plant. then I will attach the appropraite Layout to each Output Type created.
    1. My Question is can we create multiple Output Types?
    2. And also attach multiple Output Types to a PO. And select any one(based on the need) at the time of Printing?

    Hi Nitin,
    1) You can create multiple output types for a purchase order and each output type will have different layout names when use assign outtypes through transaction NACE.
2)Yes,You can select a particular output type for a PO.
Just specify a parameter in your driver program which will accept output type(KSCHL).
I recommends you not to create multiple layouts based on each plant. Try to create a Pagewindow in your layout which can hold PO header data.Based on your plant you can pass values through text elements to Pagewindow. You can simply write code for this in your driver program.
Note:Plz award points if is is helpful
    Thanks,
    Vinay
