Output Window (by default should be maximized)
Hi,
When i generate the html file and view the final ouput, i
need the window to be maximized by default...i've tried to change
several options in the "Window properties" but failed.......what
settings do i need to include for it....pls help me
out......

1. I've checked the help file outside the robohelp (but didnt
achieve what i want)
2. I've also ticked the "Maximize box" in the Advanced
properties.
3. I'm able to set the maximum "height" as "768" and width as
"1024" and not more than that....
4. Eventhough i set maximum height and width in the window
properties... it is just the "Restore" window settings i'm
mentioning here.
5. When i open the output file, ofcourse i'm able to view it
in the full window (with the specified height and width), but by
default "maximize" button appears in the middle (instead it should
be the other way....restore button should be in the middle)" and if
we want to restore the window, then i should be able to view the
window settings which i've specified in the window properties)....
Hope i've not confused.....

In output window password changes
In the output window the password for website upload changes as soon as I place the cursor somewhere else like to start the upload. There are 3 more characters added. If I click in the space to delete the 3 characters, the password is deleted.

Be default you should be able to see all the containers. Please check whether did you embed the view in first container.
I think you know, how to check..
window->expand view->select first container then you will get the embedded view container details......if not , embed the view again.

Don't know what I clicked accidentally, my dbms output window is screwed up. I can not see its top end . So I can not close it or see /change the db connection. Only thing I can do with this window is to change its size from bottom edge or from sideways.

Failing that, you could delete windowinglayout.xml which will reset the windows to the defaults.

When I click on any Bookmark, how do I set it to open in a new window by default?
Right clicking an icon in the Bookmarks Toolbar provides a drop down menu. That menu has "Open" as the Default and "Open in a New Window" as the second choice. I'd like to make "Open in a New Window" the Default. In other words, I'd like to be able to click on a Bookmark icon and open a new window. Is there a line in 'about:config' that I can change to accomplish this?

Here you should see two columns: Content Type on the left, Actions on the right.
Find and select excel spreadsheet or any other content type in the left column. There should be a corresponding action in the right column. What is it? You can use the drop-down list to select the option you want:
Always Ask - Firefox will ask each time: What do you want to do with this file?
Save file - Firefox will save this file to your computer
Use - Firefox will give this file to the program to open it

In Lion, the default of pressing a link on a web page, is to open the page in a new tab. In itself, I do like this because this is what I did for 19 out of any 20 links, which I command+clicked in previous Safari versions.
However, there is a snag to this behaviour. Most (all?) secure site do not like links to be opened in a new tab. For example, when I am doing Web banking, The the linked page doesn’t open in new tab. Rather I get a page telling me my login session is expired. Probably a security measure instituted by my bank.
I since found out, that a command-click opens lings in the same window. Theoretically that solves the problem, if I would think about this all the time. I don't. Old habits die slowly.

I got it figured out today, basically you have to load the Parallel Flash Loader first into FPGA ram. It is a special .sof file (pfl_epXXXX.sof) based on your FPGA. Code is actually pretty straight forward, using the Sys Exec VI. Use the windows based programmer to generate the .cdf file that identifies your FPGA, attached Flash and .pof file .
Syntax was odd going into Sys Exec. Note the extra "C" in in front of the "quartus_prm.exe" I have no idea why that was needed, but I was getting an error until I just happened to put it in there (Blind Luck :-))
I used a 2 element array going into a four loop
cmd /cquartus_pgm.exe -c USB-BLASTER -m JTAG -o P;pfl_epXXXX.sof
cmd /cquartus_pgm.exe -c USB-BLASTER -m JTAG S_FPGA.cdf
Defining the working director C:\altera\12.1sp1\qprogrammer\bin
And added match string with "Successfully performed operation" on the output in the loop to make sure everything loaded correctly then adding the array to give me a overall P/F
To anyone doing this same thing Altera's documentation is poor to say the least. It took most of a week to figure this out Not allowed to upload code, so anyone wanting details just post here and I will try to help. This was painful, with lots of lessons learned.

Since yesterday, when I click to read my email I get a blank window instead of the usual window with the email itself. The same is happening with windows where data should be entered, like those virtual keyboards for online banking login, or windows where you can add records (like daily electricity and gas consumption). In all these situations, a window should pop-up and pop-up it does - but always blank.
I already unistalled/reinstalled Firefox and reset it "to its default state".

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

I would like create an SP which will return the records from the table and also return value to my c# client application.
For Example:
Select * from employee returns all the query results in output window.
Now I want to create an SP

Why? and No!
Why? Your procedure generates a resultset of some number of rows. You check the resultset for the presence of rows to determine if "anything is there". You don't need a separate value to tell you this. Note that it helps
to post tsql that is syntactically correct. While we're at it, if you just need to know that rows exist there is no need to count them since that does more work than required. Simply test for existence using the appropriately-named function
"exists". E.g., if exists (select * from dbo.employee).
No! A stored procedure does not display anything anywhere. The application which executes the procedures is responsible for the consumption of the resultset; it chooses what to do and what to display.
Lastly, do not get into the lazy habit of using the asterisk in your tsql code. That is not best practice. Along with that, you should also get into the following best practice habits:
schema-qualify your objects (i.e., dbo.employee)
terminate every statement - it will eventually be required. -
Best way to implement a basic text output window

I want to monitor the activity of an hardware devices which sends text, in some case, a lot and fairly fast. So far I send this to the standard output and this is fine.
Now I need to support several devices concurrently so I need to create a very basic window which just display some read only text with a scroll bar (I must have only one instance of my app running on a system). As there are hundreds of ways to do that in Java, I would like some advice to make something which minimize latencies and resources consumption (e.g. using a JTextPane with a StyledDocument might not be optimal for this...)

Using the JTextArea/PipedOutputStream, times fall down to 22 seconds !! (I made it to accept up to 8MB of data and to keep at least the last 4MB chunk of data)

Note for those who do similar things: the PIPE_BUFFER_SIZE is a key parameter for the speed of operations, the bigger the better. For example, when I double its size, the times fall down to 15 seconds !

I see the same thing on my own server, so it appears to be "normal". I don't know why this would be so, though. Logically, these should be on the system segment. I suspect it is a minor bug of some kind in the bootstrap install/upgrade code. I do not believe it will cause any actual problems, even if you were to take the unusual step of separating the default and system segments on different devices.
I'll post a followup if I can find an actual explanation.

DBMS OUTPUT window add behaviour
Using Version 2.1.1.64, when you click on the 'add' button in the DBMS output window, you are prompted for the connection to add.
I have upwards of 30 connections defined and the default connection rarely happens to be the one I want, so I have to scroll to find it, which is a pain in the neck. Especially when I'm only opening it to fake a keep alive function in the first place.
It would make sense for the "Select Connection" dialog to
1) Default to the current connection (lets say the one in use by the window that has the focus) and
2) By default only show connections that are currently open
For bonus points, I'd like to be able to default DBMS_OUTPUT to open whenever I open a connection.

When I try to open an image by double clicking on it in Bridge, I get a message telling me to log in to Creative Cloud. I am running CS6, and the default should be to open files in Photoshop 6 or in Adobe Raw (if it's a Raw file). I don't want to log into CC since I am not a subscriber, and this means that I have to work around, and go back to Bridge, and tell it to open the file in Adobe RAW. However, this does not work for older psd files which for some reason cannot be opened in RAW. How do I return to the process of simply allowing RAW files to open automatically in Adobe RAW, and simply right clicking on the image in Bridge to bring up the option of opening it in Photoshop?

Can I set Firefox as my windows 7 default mail client?
I've already set Firefox's mailto/send etc email program to Gmail, but I want to also set the Windows 7 default mail client to use FireFox (which knows to use gmail). For example, when in Windows Photo Viewer I click "email" and then "attach" I get an error: "Either there is no default e-mail client, or the current client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default email client" What is the equivalent way to run FireFox and set it as the default Windows 7 client? I want my OS default e-mail to open Firefox and then use the e-mail settings already setup in FireFox.

Photoshop CS v.8 open windows in Windows 7 cannot be moved, maximized, or closed
I just installed my Photoshop CS Version 8 into Windows 7 on a new PC. When the program is opened, the File Browser icon does not toggle, and I have to go to File menu to open Browse. The browser window now cannot be moved, maximized, or closed. The same applies to any image that is opened. Notwithstanding, all the functions of Photoshop are working OK. Since Adobe no longer supports this version, I need solution advice from anyone.
