Outsourcing of Garnishment to ADP

Hi,
I am new to SAP HR. In a company, Garnishment has been outsourced to ADP. What does it really mean? What processes are involved, I don't have understanding of them. Can somebody please explain to me?

Outsourcing Tax Remittance to ADP

Our end users are talking with ADP about having them (ADP) handle our tax remittance. ADP has stated that there is very little that our IS&T department needs to do because everything is handled on ADP's end. How accurate is that statement? I want to be prepared incase something gets dumped on our (IS&T's) lap that needs to be done "yesterday". How does the information get sent to ADP? Is there any configuration that needs to be done?

Hi,
ADP and SAP Interfacing is a common interfacing in US and its happening for years. There are not much things in the ADP tax remittance, they will provide a ABAP code for the remittance program and all you need to do is to copy the code and create the program. Everytime whenever there is change in the format or tax remittance legal requirements , ADP's will team develop the ABAP code in their systems and provide to the client and you have copy paste. Compile and execute.

Outsourcing GP to ADP Payforce

Is anyone outsourcing their Gross Payroll to ADP Payforce?
If so, I am trying to understand what you did in SAP to satisfy the master data IDOC requirement for tax data as required by Payforce.
Specifically when there's a change in Federal Tax, that not only is that information sent in the IDOC but also State Tax Information and State Unemployment Insurance informaton is sent. Likewise wihen there's a change in State Tax, that not only is that sent but also State Unemployment Insurance sent. In addition, the effective dates of all the tax segments sent in the IDOC have to be of the same begin and end dates.

Yes, ADP is not going to help you with retroactivity, at least from the idea that if you were running SAP payroll and now needed to change a historical record, SAP would automatically help calculate a comprehensive correction. When you sign-up to outsource payroll from SAP to ADP, you are losing that ability and have to figure out how you will manually accomplish achieving a similar result. Example: So if I've underpaid you by $500 each of the last 3 months, how can I now manually see that your paid out a one time payment of $1500.
Prorating payments, again I would say here that unless you can get SAP to help you calculate this through a report or enhancement, there is nothing ADP can do to help you out of this one. Here, honestly I have no experience, I'm just being logical and stating what I think is common sense.
Whoa!, no import of infotype 0015. This is wrong. As we all know what is in 0015 is not much different than 0014, i.e., it's just a wage type. Now the one issue here I've seen is that the IDOC from SAP does not carry what is found in 0014 and 0015, so generally speaking one has to run a separate interface just for the EDT found there. You should be able to pass over one time earnings to ADP without any issue.

Outsource payroll. Split of master data among 2 system

We run SAP for our HR master data and outsource our payroll system to ADP.
We aim to input data in SAP opposite to input it in the ADP system. But we want to do that only if there is not a risk that the infotype to store the data in SAP might eventually need a Legal Changes update (to update logic or check tables) that would force us to apply the most up to date Support Package (or CLC...) to bring these legal changes into our system.
In this context we want to asses what is the risk/probability that the use of the following infotypes could need at some point the "timely" application of legal changes for them to work (notice that infotype just need to be able to store the data; further processing of the data is to be done in ADP) Please provide an answer for each of the groups of infotypes as some of them can be moved to ADP while others stay in SAP:
1) Infotype 207 and 208: Residence and Work tax area
2) Infotype 210: W-4 witholding information
3) Infotype 234: Withholding Overrides
4) Infotype 161: IRS Limits

Though the operations are doing in multipule location but data will be saved in single Central data base.
this central data base is placed in a secured location and will be tested properly before placing i.e. it will not impacted with calamities like cyclone... etc.
Transaction data is done only at front end but data will entered in the frontend will be updated in back end data base.
Note: we may have 2 servers data bases which will placed in different loaction this will be used if once gowes down,other will start working with out any imact.
With respect to Sync.. 2 server data bases will be automatically where ever is some change in db1.

Our client has decided to perform Gross payroll inhouse and outsource Net payroll to third-party company ADP in US. what are the pre-requisties for this requirement. Please advise ! How complex is it please advise.

This is not a complex process, Interfacing with ADP is very standard in US. But you need to understand, your clients requirement.
Understand the SOW with ADP, what all work they would be doing and how much will be done in SAP?
Where do they want to see the results?-RT or Infotypes or both.
Do you have BI system for HR? - Net payroll data also has to be loaded
Whose does the bank transfers, Payslip print out?
Does the client require payslips on portal?
Client requirement of payroll posting to SAP FICO?
Post payroll data to Benefits vendor and other HR 3rd party softwares like recruiting systems, time, commuter benefits,...
Use the ADP interfacing tables in SAP for custom program, PA/PSA mapping to ADP data.

Garnishment PCR

Hi,
I am running the Canadian payroll outsourcing schema. When i create a Garnishment (IT 66 & 67) with a "Percent of Net" option it calculates the amount off my gross. Ideally i would like it to only show the percentage in the amount field as our third party payroll comapny will be the one to calculate this deduction.
I tried creating a PCR and quering the table with the command TABLEP0067 AMT= IDOAP. This didn't work.
Any ideas?

Also i noticed that the Garnishment Schema KGRN is not added into the standard outsourcing schema. Is that normal?
I added it and now what it is doing is running the schema fine except if i have a garnishment that is % of Net it calculates it based off the gross and adds it to the tabe GRDBT.
Ideally i just want to outsource the percentage and when the Net results are imported, i want the new amount value to be reflected in the GRDBT table.
Is there a way i can overwrite what is in this table?

ADP and BSI

Hi Team,
Is BSI same as ADP ??
ADP is a third-party payroll processing company in US.
BSI is also a third-party payroll processing company??
As for my understanding BSI is used to calculate taxes in SAP .And ADP also calculate the net amount which will surely calcuate the taxes and deduct them form the gross pay.
If a client implemented SAP and it outsourcing payroll to ADP.My question is does it use both BSI and ADP ??

By the above answers given by you i can say that BSI is used to calculate the taxes and this amount is again transffered to ADP in case client is outsourcing payroll to ADP.
or
If the client is outsourcing payroll to ADP there is no need of BSI calculating the taxes.ADP only calculates the taxes and process the net amount.
One last question is if client is outsourcing payroll to ADP does we need to do any configuration related to payroll in SAP or not ??
My understanding is we have to calculate the gross amount in SAP and give to ADP then ADP process the net amount,thirdparty payments to benefits,Garnishments etc and deposits the amount in the banks.
Correct me if i am worng.

We want to receive G/L data back from ADP in standard SAP IDOC format. I have posed this question to ADP support with no luck.
Has anyone imported G/L net payroll data back from ADP as an IDOC? Is this considered a different product than web-based Infolink G/L?

Android orientation lock does not work within the ADPS App

Hi,
and another Android App Bug for today. The Android orientation lock feature does not work in Apps created with ADPS. If orientation lock is enabled and I turn the tablet, the orientation off the ADPS Apps will turn with the tablet.
My Test Tablet is an Acer IconiaTab A510 with Android 4.0.3

When you say that the orientation lock doesn't work, we have no way of knowing if that means that the screen is locked in one position only, or that it will not lock in one position only. So try something g very basi and reboot your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
In the camera app, you have to swipe up and down on the screen to move between photo, video and the square photo mode options, so are you even in the correct mode to take videos?

Problem with ADP in Oracle Enterprise Manager

I have a issue with ADP installation in OEM 12c.
I installed manager and agent successfully, but through the OEM console i'm not able to see any performance and load inside ADP.
It only shows the servers and deployed application in target (agent) at the left side of the ADP window (in OEM console) except that it doesn't provide any information related to war, ear files and its servlets and jsp pages.
Do anyone know why my ADP is not providing information related to the applications.

Outsourcing of vendor payments

I need some undertanding
Currently we make payment to Vendors either thro f-53 / f-58. We intend to outsource cheque printing externally to the third party now.
Please let us know if it is possible in SAP. If yes please provide us with the process and the procedure to be followed to achieve the objective.
In my testing stage I have been using F110. The external parties say's that they will access our system and take the data. Due to security reasons we would like to avoid giving access to our system.

How steps for convert an old adp file to accdb in Access 2010/2013

I have a client with an old adp file they are running in Access 2010. Some of their users have moved to Access 2013 and the adp format is no longer supported in that version of access. I have tried searching the web, but I have not found a definitive
set of instructions on how to migrate the content of this adp file to the newer accdb format. I have created a new .accdb went to External data, Import, Access and pulled over all the objects found in that ui. It pulled in tables as well, but it
was my understanding with the adp format all of the tables were in sql server, not access.
Any help would be greatly appreciated to help me figure out how to migrate this content and get rid of the adp file as I am admittedly not very knowledgeable of this adp file format as well!

Thanks for the help Stefan. I was actually able to do this pretty easily by doing a couple of things:
Created a blank new Access DB (MyAccessDB_new_format.accdb)
Opened it and went to the External Data menu, then imported all the objects from the old Access file (MyAccessDB.adp)
Went to View code to see the VBA code and then added the reference to the ADODB library for the code.
Created a new ODBC connection on the PC to the local SQL Server database (called MySQLServerAppDB).
Deleted all the local tables that got imported in the Access db.
Went to the External Data menu, then added all the db objects as linked tables (All the tables now in the access db with the globe icon next to them) and renamed them in Access from default naming schema of "dbo_TableName" to just "TableName".
Tested it and was getting some weird dbo message, so looked at the VBA code and all the queries had schema qualification (i.e.: select * from dbo.table1), so I did a find replace and got rid of "dbo." (found
10 occurrences) and changed any form or report references in their property sheets with dbo in the name and removed "dbo."
Tested it again and then got some weird unique table error message. I just commented this line out and it works fine in my app.
