OVD adapter in distributed mode fails to connect to secondary AD
We have 2 AD domain controllers configured on the OVD adapter in distributed (load-balancing mode). The secondary LDAP server fails on a user bind request but the primary is fine. If we remove the primary we get very few, if any, connections. Any known issues with 10g and AD in fail over mode?
Thanks
Hi everyone, I got it finally after some more headbashing! It turns out I can't run networkmanager along with wpa_supplicant at the same time. I don't understand why though.
Before I happened to install networkmanager along with network-manager-applet via pacman.
# pacman -S network-manager-applet
# pacman -S networkmanager
# systemctl enable NetworkManager
# systemctl start NetworkManager
So I just stopped it
# systemctl disable NetworkManager
# systemctl stop NetworkManager
and then uninstalled it
# pacman -R networkmanager
# pacman -R network-manager-applet
Then wpa_supplicant works! Thanks.

WLan fails to connect after sleep mode - Satellite T110-10x
Hi,
Everything works fine, wireless connected.
After sleep mode - it fails to connect although it detects my wireless network.
I've tried the latest Realtek driver, still no good.
I've verified that my setup is not to turn down wireless in the power options.
Any idea?Hi
Where did you find the latest WLan driver?
Here on this Toshiba driver page you can find the latest Wlan driver:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
I recommend uninstalling firstly the old driver and then to install the newer version.
Furthermore its necessary to update the BIOS. I read in the forum that similar issues could be solved by BIOS update.

Hi my iphone 5 is on recovery mode and I connect it with the computer but it's failing to restore the device the message is showing iphone restore failed!!!!!
Hi Bobi1346,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities and for including the error number you are getting.
There's an article for troubleshooting that error.
iOS: Restore errors 4005, 4013, and 4014
Try these steps to resolve the issue:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Restart your computer.
Make sure your computer is up to date. If an update requires a restart, check for updates again after you restart.
Learn more about updating OS X.
Learn more about updating Windows.
Restore using another USB cable.
Restore your device on another computer.
If you continue to see error 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your device, contact Apple for support.
Take care,

ASMCMD-08103: failed to connect to ASM; ASMCMD running in non-connected mod
Hi,
I am facing below problem.
ASMCMD-08103: failed to connect to ASM; ASMCMD running in non-connected mode
ASMCMD-08102: no connection to ASM; command requires ASM to run
Probable reasons are:
1. ORACLE_SID is not set properly
2. ASM instance is not running.
But my ORACLE_SID is set properly and ASM instance is also running...
What else i can check?

Hyper-V Remote Admin on a Domain - Failed to connect to root\cimv2
I'm trying to configure our Hyper-V server so that a user on our domain has administrative control. Our Hyper-V server is on the domain running 2008 R2 (named SERVER85 below), and the client is on Win 7 Ent x64 (named DEV03 below, username accuraty\jkessel).
In the output below you can see that it appears we might have a problem with this user's access to the WMI path root\CIMv2, but if I pull up the advanced security settings for that node in WMI, I see:
Name: Justin Kessel ([email protected])
Apply to: This namespace and subnamespaces
Permissions allowed: "Enable Account" and "Remote Enable" (no others, no denies).
IMHO, the server, the desktop, and user are all fairly "vanilla" with nothing unusual going on. Maybe one thing worth noting: our Small Business Server 2008 (i.e. domain controller) is running as a VPS on SERVER85, so SERVER85 never boots with the
domain controller on. This hasn't ever caused problems except that the machine always thinks it's firewall should be in the "work" configuration instead of the "domain" configuration. I tested running the HVRemote script while the SERVER85 firewall
was turned off, and I get exactly the same results below.
One more note: this user currently can logon through RDP to SERVER85 and administer Hyper-V just fine. This user is *not* a domain admin or an admin on that server - I've simply provided him with the right permissions to be able to RDP and admin Hyper-V
only.
We used HVRemote and it output this info when run on the client:

New install of sqldeveloper 3.0.04.34 fails to connect
I exited the running sqldeveloper 3.0.03.45, and started the sqldeveloper exe for 3.0.04.34 which I have just downloaded and unzipped.
It asked to import settings.
When I try to open the imported connection to scott/tiger@//lambda/ora10 (where lambda is my local db server), I get this error text in a dialog box.
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
|
| An error was encountered performing the requested
| operation:

| oracle.jdbc.driver.T2Connection.getLibraryVersionNumber()
| I

I'm sure that means something to a java developer, or perhaps even a jdbc developer, but it is meaningless, and absolutely useless to me.
My connection properties are
user: scott; password: tiger; save password: checked; connection type: TNS; role: default; connection identifier: //lambda/ora10
I am running Win7 on a AMD 64, using the 32 bit instant client and 32 bit sql developer
When I start sql plus:
..>which sqlplus.exe
E:\Oracle\x86\instantclient_11_1_0_7_0\sqlplus.exe

I think I have a very recent version of the JDK
D:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_23\bin>.\javac.exe -version
javac 1.6.0_23
How do I make this version of sqldeveloper work? What can I try next to help diagnose this problem?I downloaded and installed a fresh copy of Instant Client 11.2.0.2.0 and added it to my path in place of the 11.1 client.
sql_developer 3.0.04.34 now works. However, sql_developer 2.1.1.64.45 now fails to connect with this error dialog:
+--------------------------------------------------------------

| An error was encountered performing the

| oracle.jdbc.driver.T2Connection.t2cCreateState([BI
| [BI[BI[BI[BISI[S[B[BZ)I

+--------------------------------------------------------------
I suspect this is the reason I continued to use the 11.1 instant client. I could not easily evaluate the two versions of sql_developer when I also had to switch the instant client. My perception of the early adapter label is that it was another name for public beta. And that means: have a fall back option.
What do you mean by a regular simple connect? The scott/tiger@//lambda/ora10 connect string works when i run .\sqlplus.exe from all four of the instant clients I have here (10.2.0.4.0, 11.1.0.7.0, 11.2.0.1.0 and 11.2.0.2.0). My db server is on a linux box, but I run the client on a windows box.
Sorry about the duplicate thread. -
XP mode looses connectivity periodically throughout the day on a daily basis but Windows 7 Pro host PC never looses connectivity. Problem is at its worst when the XP mode has been running all day. If XP mode is rebooted once daily, problem is
reduced but not gone. Some days are better than others. One day it will happen to one xp mode and not another. Another day one xp mode will fail repeatedly while another works OK. There is no rhythm to the failures. Problem
began with the 1st XP Mode environment.
I can disable and enable the virtual NIC and regain connectivity.
The problem occurs during batch processing of DOS based payroll software using many open files and handles. Software runs from XP Mode as shortcut to Mapped Server Drive letter.
Environment is small.
1 windows 2008 R2 Server as Domain/File server. Dell T420 Server
3 Windows 7 Pro with XP mode. All XP Mode fail periodically. All Dell PCs, one OptiPlex 3010, one OptiPlex 390, 1 Dell Dimension.
2 Windows XP Pro, OptiPlex 330. Real mode never looses connectivity.
All drivers up to date.
Router firmware up to date.
Power management disabled.
I disabled the Servers Auto Disconnect.
XP mode Network settings using physical adapter, not NAT.
I've been reading forums and troubleshooting this for months. I've tried everything except recreate the VHD.#1 Do you have any supporting articles you can point me to?
#2 What do you mean by "Temperature"? Physical heat? The offices are kept at approx 75°.
#3 Will look at them again. As I said, I've been troubleshooting this for quite a while. I don't recall any Eventviewer errors related to this but I will check again.
Thanks again for your input.

ColdFusion 8 - 64-bit in distributed mode?
We have been running 32-bit in distributed mode since 2004
using the J2EE WAR deployment on JRun 4. With CF8 Updater 1 we
would like to migrate to the 64-bit version. Is it possible to run
a cluster of two physical servers with ColdFusion clusters on Jrun
server instances where one host OS and member server instance is
32-bit and the other host OS and member server instance is 64-bit?
We are trying to figure out a migration strategy that will permit
us to extend the current infrastructure cluster horizontally, viz.
add the new servers to the current cluster with minimal impact on
performance and code changes.
Any advice with such a migration issue would be welcome.
Thanks,

This will not work. All your .cfm files must be on the server
that has
JRun (server1).
In order to set this up:
1. Install JRun / CF on server1. It is highly recommended to
choose the
buildin webserver so you can verify your installation is
correct.
2. Copy wsconfig.jar to the webserver on server2. Make sure
you have a
JDK installed (same version as CF/JRun uses).
3. Run wsconfig.jar and specify connection parameters to
connect to
server1:
http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/6.1/htmldocs/websera7.htm
4. Plcae your .cfm files in the CF wwwroot
(...\???.ear\cfusion.war\
folder) on server 1.
5. Test.
This should work, but IIRC Adobe will only support a
configuration where
you also have your CF code on the webserver and the path to
your IIS
wwwroot on server2 is identical to the path to the JRun
wwwroot on server1.

Failed while creating virtual Ethernet switch. Failed to connect Ethernet switch port
Hello Folks
I am completely stuck with the configuration of my virtual networks. I have one logical switch left to add to one of my Hyper-V 2012 R2 hosts when I started getting the error below when I try to add logical switches to either Hyper-V Host. I have been using
the document. 'Hybrid Cloud with NVGRE (Cloud OS)' to implement the virtual networking. Basically using the exact configuration that is in the document. I have added the PA Logical Network and the Network adapters and added the logical switch for it to my
hyper-v 2012 R2 host and everything was fine. I am now trying to add my ISCSI Logical Switch to the host and this is the error I get. My other Hyper-V host I get this error for any logical switch I am trying to add. Can someone help me with this error. I haven't
been able to find any information about it.
Also a some quick info on tracing an error like this so I can figure out what is causing it.
Thsi is my configuration so far
So as far as I know everything is peachy untill the error below. Dead stop now

Christopher Scannellnotice your GUID? you may want to consider ensuring that is the same GUID associated in your database. Sometimes during data corruption theres a smidge of a chance your sql database kind of either pulls old guids esp if this was reverted to snapshot
without it being powered off etc.
I would try that first. then i would consider if you get to configure that with your current liscense associated with the host. I would need way more info to help any further -
Distribution manager failed to connect to the distribution point
After upgrading my distribution point to windows server 2012 standard I can't distribute content to my distribution point.
I see the following error.

The firewall is not enabled.
wbemtest is able to connect to the remote server that has the distribution point role installed.
The network access account is working.
How do I fix this?but why does it most of the time work? I did inplace upgrade at least 6 times from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2 and every DP except one works fine.
I'm not completely sure, but I think, my faulty one, that I'm trying to get working, was working correctly after the inplace upgrade. But as I said, that is only a theory, I'm just curious if that's possible.
I have the same issue as described above.

BIDS would not let me save the package with ProtectionLevel of ServerStorage giving error...
Failed to apply package protection with error 0xC0014061 "The protection level, ServerStorage, cannot be used when saving to this destination. The system could not verify that the destination supports secure storage capability.". This error occurs when saving

(vbTestsmall)
...but it would let me change the ProtectionLevel to EncryptSensitiveWithPassword so I did that and provided the jobstep in the agent with the password and the agent was able to run successfully.
Thanks for all the help...I will follow your blog, Roscoe -
SMD agent not starting correctly FAIL: NIECONN_REFUSED (Connection refused)
I am getting the following message when I start the agent. I don't see any errors except for this, and when I try to connect it in agent_adminstration, it never connects. Just eventually times out after 30 mins.

JDBC fails to connect to 8.1.7.0.1 on Linux
Hi,
I compile and run the sample JDBCVersion program on a Win98 client PC. It works ok connecting to a Sparc 8.1.7.0.1. However, when it connects to 8.1.7.0.1 on Redhat 7.3, it gives the following error.
D:\Programs>java JDBCVersion
Exception in thread "main" java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection

at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:512)
at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:171)
at JDBCVersion.main(jdbcversion.java:10)
The strange thing is if the same program is run on the local Redhat 7.3 machine, it works fine!
I checked the listener.log file. The log message for the successful and unsuccessful cases are the same (of course except the HOST= field).
Is it a bug?
Regards,
John LeeHi Rahul,
Thanks for your response. I'm using Oracle Java Thin client. Environment is J2SE SDK 1.4.1_01 (uses classes12.zip from Oracle).
Successful cases
- Win98 can use ODBC and SQL*PLUS to connect to the remote Oracle8i
- Win98 can use JDBCVersion program to connect to a remote Oracle8i on Sparc and another Oracle9i on RedHat 7.3
- JDBCVersion can successfully connects to Oracle8i on Redhat 7.3 if it is run locally on the database server
Failed cases
- When JDBCVersion runs on Win98, it fails to connect to remote Oracle8i on Redhat 7.3
The log from listener.log shows that nothing special happens when JDBCVersion runs on Win98 to connect.
Any clues?
Regards,
John -
