OVD and OID integration

Hi all,
How to do OVD-OID integration?
Version 11.1.1.5.0.
I am not clear in the steps Which is mentioned in the Oracle Document. Please anybody give the steps.I will follow that one.
- Deena.

I would assume you are talking about creating virtual views in OVD for OID
You will have to create a LDAP adapter in OVD. Please see the OVD documentation for the same http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/oid.1111/e10046/basic_adapters.htm#CHDJFEJG
Hope this helps,
Sagar

  • EUS with OVD and OID

Has any one configured OVD 11gR1 and OID 11gR1 with DB 11gR1 for EUS? Can you share your experience in configuring these components?
    Thanks,

    1. Extending Schema : Even though we have selected the 'auto-update schema' option during OAMIdentityServer installation, is it mandatory to explicitely extend the schemas of OVD and OID, as mentioned in the "Extending Directory Schemas" section in "Setting up OAM with OVD" chapter of 'OAM Installation guide'.
    - no, if you selected auto update (and it completed successfully), you do not have to extend the schemas manually
    2. Creating Mapping Files:
    a. Out of the box, if we try to create New Mapping, the FileTemplate listing does not have any entry that corresponds to OID.
    b. On the other hand, to load the Mapping Templates explicitely, plugins\OracleAccessmanagerOViDTemplates\mapping_templates folder does not contain the OID related mapping template files.
a - no, I do not see any templates that correspond directly to OID either
b - i do not see this directory int eh file system at all
What are you trying to map?

  • OBIEE OVD and OID

We are trying to setup OBIEE to hit against Oracle Virtual Directory to authenticate users. Oracle Virtual Directory sits on top of 2 physical domains. Corporate users (employees) and Agents (external users). We can setup OBIEE to search both domains when authenticating a user and that is working. However, we can't determine which domain it actually used to finally authenticate the user. We need to full DN for downstream authorization processes. Is there anyway to get the full DN that OBIEE used when they authenticated the user?
    Thanks,
    Kirk

OBIEE has to bind to OVD with a DN. If OBIEE first does a search in OVD for a DN and then binds to OVD with the found DN, then you can see the DN in OBIEE or OVD logs.

  • OAS and OID integration

    Hello,
We use OAS 10.1.3.1 with a OID to manage users and groups (the OID iis connected to a Active Directory) under Solaris SunOS 5.10
In our web application we use BASIC or FORM authentification and we have this strange behaviour :
When a new user or group is created in the OID, we must restart the OC4J instance on which the web application is deployed in order that the new user or group be available in the web (through the JEE roles association)...
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best regards,
    Dominique

Please provide me the metalink Doc.

  • OVD and Webservice integration

All of the profile information that I need access to is front-ended by Webservices and not inside LDAP. How well does OVD address this situation? Does the OVD attribute mapping, priority etc across many resources handle web services? If you needed to be able to aggregate profile attributes from many web services, defined by each application, would you use OVD or roll your own solution?

in my case LDAP is out of the picture - all profile attributes I need to aggregate are dispersed amongst many resources front-ended by web services (some SOAP, some REST). This doesn't seem to me to be a unique scenario as most companies I am involved with do not maintain their customer profile data within LDAP. I want to assess OVD's ability/offered functionality (UI mapping screens,...) to address my scenario.
    thanks for the reply

  • Integration and reconciliation of OIM and OID

I need to do integration with OID and OIM, when i import the XML file, there are two XML files,
    1) oimOIDuser
    2) oimUser
which xml should be used for the integration of OIM and OID.
and for the trusted source Reconciliation.
    -sudhan elango.

    oimOIDUser.xml
If you are using OIM 9.1.0 or later then you don't have to import the connector
You can install it by copying the contents of the installation in OIM_HOME/xellerate/ConnectorDefaultDirectory
and then Deployment Manager-> Install connector and from the connector list select OID connector and Load
    Hope it helps,

  • Unable to login into EBS and OID after integrating OID with EBS successfull

    Hi,
We have succcessfully Integrated Oracle 11i with OID (OAS 10g) as per the note 233436.1, but we are not able to login thru EBS other then sysadmin user. At present no one is able to login through OID and EBS.
    Regards,
    Maggi.

    Hi Helios,
Thanks for your reply, We have integrated OID with Microsoft AD and OID with EBS. When we try to create new users in both OID it was reflecting properly in EBS and even vice versa. But when we migrated the users between EBS to OID and vice versa using bulkload it completed sucessfully. Now at present we are not able to long through both OID and EBS. When ever we try to login, it asks for windows authentication by poping up a window asking for Username/Password.
    Thanks,
    Maggi.

  • How to Integration OVD and AD

    Hi All,
I was trying to integrate OVD and AD and I want it to be done with out using Oracle Enterprise Security.
I dont how could I finish the task...?
    Please help me guys
    Regards
    Sri

    hi Sir,
You don't need EUS to finish this. In the case of Active Directory, Oracle Virtual Directory can be configured to point to either the global catalog directory or to point to each domain controller in the domain.

  • Oracle Enterprise User, OVD and MS Active Directory (AD)

    Hi,
I need to authenticate Oracle Users from MS Active Directory.
If I create an Oracle Enterprise User, can I just use OVD or do I need also OID ?
If the answer is YES, I just need OVD do I need just to install OVD or do I need any other installation from OIM in order for it to work?
Thanks in advance for answering this post : )
    CMT

    Hi,
I am not sure that you are correct.
In the meantime, some one mentioned a white paper to read: "Directory Services Integration with Database Enterprise User Secuirty. In page 10 it mentions a scenario: EUS deployment using Active Directory and OVD
    (without OID).
The cons mentioned are: Need to extend AD schema to include EUS meta-data (which I am not sure how its done).

  • Sun Directory Server and OID Synchronization

I'm having a problem with synchronizing OID with our existing Sun Directory Server. This is a one way synchronization, using Sun DS as the source, and OID as the destination. I've successfully installed OID with SSL enabled (this is part of an Oracle Portal installation), and followed what docs I could find. I created an integration profile based off the iPlanet Import profile, and imported a custom mapping profile based off a differing DIT naming convention (o=company.com vs dc=company,dc=com). I have applied an ACI that should allow the synchronization profile user to update entries on the OID side, and a user in Sun DS that has access to the appropriate areas on that side. I was able to successfully bootstrap and import all of our users, and it was also able modify the last changelog number.
Having said all of that, incremental changes aren't propagating to OID. I'm not sure where to look or what steps to take to troubleshoot this, as I'm brand new to OID. There's an agent execution command that is blank in the integration profile, but according to what I've found that's the default and is acceptable.
Am I missing a step here? According to the docs, all I need to do is enable the profile, and away it goes.
One last thing I had to do to overcome an issue with the changelog number not updating was adding our internal root ca's certificate to the local JVM's cacerts file. I accomplished this with the keytool command, and it seemed to work fine. I'm unsure if it's the SSL config that is hosed and is causing this, or if it's a configuration parameter I'm missing.. but I don't have anywhere to start as far as troubleshooting is concerned.

On your integration profile, did you set the debug level to 63? You should have a _____.aud and a _____.trc file in your $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/odi/log directory that will provide more info. Did you start your DIP server (odisrv) with the oidctl command?
You might also look at downloading the "diptester" utility for troubleshooting OID synchronization issues.

  • Monitoring status of OID Integration Server

Does anyone know anything about the best practices of monitoring the status of OID integration server. I'm writing a small plugin for Nagios and I was hoping to be able to pull a single attribute out of LDAP that tells me the status of Integration server. We have it running against iPlanet, and we need to make sure it's always in sync (and when it's not, notification is sent.)
Is this what the attribute orclodipinstancestatus does? Anyone have any info on the possible values of this (I presume 1 means everything is OK, although this may be the wrong attribute.)
I could just look at the odi/log/AGENTNAME.trc file, but if OID Manager can see the status (sync success or failure) I'm pretty sure it's some value in ldap... somewhere...

I'll answer my own question... I believe this should do the trick.
    Using ldapsearch:
    ldapsearch -h localhost -D "<SOME ADMIN USER>" -w <PASSWORD> -b "orclodipagentname=<AGENT NAME>, cn=subscriber profile,cn=changelog subscriber,cn=oracle internet directory" -s sub "objectclass=*"
    A nice text attribute:
    orclodipsynchronizationstatus=Synchronization Successful
    reveals the status.
