When I Plugged in my iPhone 5 into my computer it said a new update should be installed. So of course I installed it But When I went to look at the music to play a song over 150 songs were deleted from my iPhone 5 and my computer. That I bought. So I was wondering is there anyway I can get my songs that I paid for back.

The same thing has happened to me!!! I recieved the "ipod selection" because my ipod nano library was bigger than my ipod storage space, but I deleted many of the songs since then. My nano hold 500 songs, and I have 498 songs now. I thought that by deleting the "ipod selection", the 498 songs in my library would be the songs on my ipod, but now I have nothing on my ipod and all the songs remain in my music library! I NEED them back in my ipod as soon as possible!!!!!

Since update, all songs have been deleted and i can't turn ipod off. HELP!!

since update, all songs have been deleted and i can't turn ipod off!! I updated the itunes software last week and the next time I synced the ipod, it immediately deleted all songs. After further investigation, i realized that my songs are still in itunes. Under the music tab, it shows the capacity and the content of the ipod. It used to have 4 gb of audio on there and now it have no audio and 4 gb of 'other' files. what does this mean? i can still see the songs in the library list, but i can't even make a playlist with them. When I click on playlist, nothing happens. Also, I can't turn the ipod off since the update. Please send any advice my way.

yes, and the problem is unresolved. i really feel that the problem is occuring with the itunes program and not the ipod. thanks, though.

All but 5-6 of my songs have been deleted from my ipod shuffle. I can find the list in purchased but can't get them on my device.

Allbut 5-6 of my 44 songs on my Ipod shuffle have been deleted. They all show up on my purchases but I can't transfer them to my Ipod shuffle device.

Try:

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

What exactly did your friend do ? Did you or he take a backup of your iTunes library before updating your computer ? Have you checked to see if your music is still on your computer ? By default your iTunes library is stored under :
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes
If it's there then you can add it to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library.
If not then do you have a copy of your library on a backup ? If you do then use File > Add To Library to add it back.
If you haven't got a backup then you might, depending upon what country that you are in and if the music is still in your country's store, be able to redownload your iTunes purchases via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.

Could my missing songs have been deleted by iMatch?

I am missing a large chunk of some of my artists music, and I was just wondering if iMatch could have decided that I shouldn't have put them on my pc or something? I own all the cd's that I have put on my pc.

itunes match doesn not delete music off of your harddrive.
It does not have that ability. It could have deleted them out of your itunes library for I've heard of this happening but have not had it happen to me.
Try going to your itunes media folder and reimporting them. You shouldn't have to rerip them. They should be stored on the harddrive that you had them on originally.

Ever since I updated iTunes on my computer all my songs have been deleted off my iPhone and it won't let me re-download them !

OK, so uncheck that option and sync your device.
Once the sync is complete, check that option again, and sync to see if it syncs up.
Also, make sure that on your Summary page, you don't have Sync Only Checked Songs selected.

ITUNES 11 IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. having severe crash issues and 3000 of my 11000 songs have gotten up and entirely disappeared.

Anyone else having to deal with this? im losing faith in apple everyday

It is beyond bad. It is full of bugs, on Windows it freezes constantly when connecting and syncing, it does not sync photos as well as music, even if you tell it to.
What complete idiot at Apple let this piece of s**t get out. iTunes 11 is as buggy as Microsoft software if not worse. This is not why I use Apple and unless it is fixed I will leave Apple and go Android.

The songs that I bought first with my iPod touch (4th generation) have randomly deleted themselves. How can I fix this?

I first got my iPod about two years ago and recently when I got an iPhone 5s, I noticed that some of my songs have been deleted, randomly. I looked under my purchased songs and there is no trace that I previously bought these songs. Another problem that I am dealing with is that some of my songs are being cut off. The song will start out fine, a few days later it will be cut off, and a few days after that the song will be cut off even more! I went through iTunes to see if I would be able to rebuy the songs (ludacris, I know), but each song is labeled as purchased. Are there anyways that I can fix these problems?!

Do you have any Restrictions set that would prevent those songs from being listed under purchased? Go to Settings>General>Restrictions and check/change.

The itunes library file cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation" I restarted my computer and opened iTunes, only to find that all of my apps and songs have been deleted. When I plug in my iPod, it says that this iPod is registered with another computer. My computer, however, is recognizing my iPod as a digital camera, with the name of my father's iPod. I have no idea how to fix this and get all of my songs/apps back. Someone please help!

Check your iTunes version - although your 5th gen works with older iTunes versions, at least 7.4 is required for the IPT - older versions will not even recognize it.
As for the Apple site not working, there have been sporadic reports of that, no known reason, usually resolved in a few hours.
You could also try updating using Apple Software Update (usually found in Start > All Programs), or from within iTunes (Help menu > Check for Updates).

I had the same thing happen to me! It totally wiped out my iTunes balance and there isn't any way to contact anyone at iTunes to dispute the charge! ExpressLane is totally useless! Can't someone help!

I have an iPod Classic and when I try to move songs from my library to my iPod, my iTunes freezes. When I tried to eject my iPod, nothing happened and I had to force quit iTunes. When I unplugged my iPod, all of my songs had been deleted. What can I do?

Are you using a Macbook?
If all your songs on the iPod are deleted, most likely the photios are gone too.
Unless you put the photos, via Diskmode.
To recover the photos that you've put in Diskmode, use Finder to locate where it is in the iPod.
Try also if iPhoto can locate those photos.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.
