Over 24 hrs to perform a 10 gig back up?

Fios for the most part has worked well for me until lately....I have a BIG issue with the proported speed that I'm supposed to be getting 20 down and 5 up. If that is the case, please tell me why it has taken me WELL OVER 24 HRS to perform a 10 gig back up/data transfer? At that rate, I can't imagine how long it would take to try to backup my whole hard drive.
The slowness can't blame on my computer it's working fine and has been "optimized" using your verizon tool. It also can't be blamed on MY server in Houston where I'm downloading from. I've had a server admin at the colo stand by and had him run connectivity tests. I've had them reboot the ftp server just in case. No....my equipment is working fine. The problem/issue I believe is Fios CONNECTIVITY speed. I was told by Verizon that you do not throttle the bandwidth. It sure doesn't appear that way. Please advise and thank you in advance.

Downloading works the same as uploading, if you are downloading a lot of small files its going to take forever. such as my site I am running now. Its about 15mb+ give or take. But if I have my FTP set to 1 at a time. It will take a good 30 min or more. Your best bet is to use a FTP client and up the Max transfers. But downloading should be faster then uploading.
And there is no way someone can transfer 10gb (individual files) over FTP in a short time.When I download a OS from Microsoft it takes about a hour at Max speeds for a single, 4gig file.

The restore is not completed. You will have to re-try the restore process again.

If the messages are stored on the device and you can power the device up you can use the application posted at https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/770529 , the application has a screen capture option and you can use the screen as a guide to install MyBackup from Market or a number of backup apps from Market and then you can run the applications and backup data to your SD Card to restore to the replacement device.

If the iPhoto Library is still 130 GB large, your photos are probably still inside; perhaps the library has a corruption.
Or the iPhoto Library is on drive, that is incompatible with iPhoto. Where is your iPhoto Library stored?
To check for a library corruption: Ctrl-click or right-click the iPhoto library and select "Show Package Contents". This will show the folders inside the library package.
Are there folders called "Masters" or "Old Masters"?
If there is a folder "Old Masters", you are having a problem with recent bug, that corrupts iPhoto Libraries when upgrading. In that case, it would be best to restore your iPhoto Library from a backup you made before you upgraded to Yosemite.
Or, if no backup is available, copy the "old Masters" folder to a folder on your Desktop and create a new iPhoto library and import the Old Masters folder.
If there is no folder "old Masters" try to rebuild your iPhoto Library with the First Aid tools :
Make a backup copy of your iPhoto Library, but don't overwrite any older backups.
To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the options-command keys ⌥⌘ while double clicking your iPhoto Library.
Keep the keys held down firmly until the First Aid panel appears.
Select "Rebuild Database".

Look at this knowledge base article on iOS backups to iTunes, note where the backups are kept for your type of computer, Windows or Mac, go to that Library location and see if there are any other files with the same name as the current backup but with a different extension and date/time stamp. If so you can edit the extension of the current backup and then change the extension of the previous backup so it looks like what was on the current and the do a restore. iTunes will think the older backup is now new and use it to restore.
If there are no such files then you over-wrote the backup and it is gone.

Plug it in to wall power. If it doesn't automatically come on within 15 minutes, try a Reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings. You might need to hold the buttons for as long as a minute.
If it still doesn't turn on, you likely have a hardware problem.

ITunes on Lion taking over my MBP (90% CPU, 3+ gig ram)

I'm having troubles with iTunes taking over my computer. If I leave iTunes running and walk away from my computer for more than a few hours, when I come back my computer is unusable. The mouse responds, but that's usually it. The keyboard either doesn't do anything or is hugely delayed. I can't switch windows or interact. I almost always have to reboot.
I've left activity monitor running 4 times now and it's always iTunes taking it over. Today, the CPU for iTunes was at 90% CPU and its was using about 3 gigs or ram (I have 8 total).
Any ideas on how to fix or debug iTunes?

Are all of the RAM modules the same brand from the same source? You might try removing one RAM module & see if the problem persists. Then cycle through each RAM module.

I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.

and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.

FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your comptuer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

I set up iCloud on pc, ipad etc was asked to copy contacts to iCloud and have lost all the settings and groups that they were in for over 2000. Can I get it back?

I have Outlook on my PC and thought it would be smart to have my contact in the Clouds where my ipad, work pc, home pc would be updated etc. So I was asked I though to copy my contacts from Outlook to iCloud. Instead it moved them and in doing so lost all the settings like Categories and reset how they are listed (used first name because have a lot of drs, phds, msws etc) now listed with last name and so I have a lot of people with md as last name. This is an organization list and is about 2000 contacts so having to go back and fix it will be a nightmare and unnecessary work.
Is there any way I can fix this easily instead of correcting each contact one at a time?

Taking over 24 hours to restore from a back-up

I have an iphone 3G; It got unplugged while it was updating the new software and would not turn on. Itunes support walked me through plugging it back in and trying to restore it and then back it up from a previous back-up. Unfortunately, at this point, all data has been erased and it has been restoring from a back-up for many many hours. It was progressing slowly, but has not moved at all in the past 9 hours. What is going on? I need my data!

Possibly a corrupt backup. It should not take nearly that long (less than 30 minutes, or up to an hour if you are re-syncing a lot of music/video).

I have rebooted my computer over 20X and performed the soft reset and the option command p.r. my iMac still gives me the gray screen with the file and question mark.

I have been having issues with starting up my computer for the last 5 weeks it started with a loud clicking sound when starting up and it use to only take turning the computer off and on a few times to get it running. You can get a decent new hard drive for $100, plus labor to install it if you're not comfortable doing it on your own. In contrast, a new computer will cost quite a bit more than that. Of course, if that iMac is very old at this point - like, say 6 or 7 years old - the new drive may be worth more than the computer, and you could use this as an excuse to buy a new one!
