Over a week, still can't reply to posts...

Like many, I've been unable to reply on my laptop (Dell PC) since the introduction of the new format.  Chrome, IE, Firefox ... makes no difference.  I can start new discussions, so until this gets fixed, I will keep starting new discussions to reply and hope the ones I am replying to will see.

(japetty) - You stated " It looks like VZW has struck back at those that they don't like what is being posted by that individual.  VZW should not be so hateful towards its customers"  I highly doubt this is the case.  I think it's simply a matter of launching a new platform without fully testing it out, and some of us got caught in the misfires.
@john51  - I feel the same frustration - and I don't think it had to do with changing your screen name - I've use this same one since I joined the forum several years ago, and it made the transition from Lithium to Jive, but from Jive 5 to Jive 7 it's been bumpy.  I would hate to have to switch names now...  and I don't think you can delete an account.  An admin or moderator can deactivate an account though.
mdxdx - I can still log in and reply to posts on my phone (Android OS) on the mobile version, but I don't like it.  I much prefer to participate in this forum via my desktop.
Perhaps if everyone who has problems replying can start a discussion here, we'll be able to figure out what the common factor is that's preventing us from replying, yet allowing others to do so.

Ha ha the common factor is Verizon screwed up and never tested the site before they put it out as "New and Improved"
Nothing should be changed with the forum posters, it has to be fixed by the Technology Unit at Verizon. However I highly doubt they are going to figure out the problem in any quick hurry.
Replying from Apple iPhone 5S is the only way I can reply to a post.

    Did you reinstall using the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger)?
    Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

    Indeed, your way works also.  It would make sense my way doesn't work for you if you seperated your forum from your main account.  Ironically, I have other sub accounts that have no issues login in to the verizon.net site.  It is just the primary account.

  • I can't reply to posts on any forum, website, or blog. I can open a reply window, but as soon as I click "post" the window closes. Any suggestions?

    Started happening today, after the newest version of Mozilla downloaded (automatically on restart). Never happened before. It's not the mouse.
    For instance, if I go to my favorite forum, open up a reply window, I can type a response just fine. When I click the "post button" the window closes. I can open the same reply window, but it just won't let me post my reply.
    Just tried clicking on a response in the "This happened" window below, and guess what? I can't click on any of them......

    No idea how to fix that. Try preview first, you will still have to post though.
    If you can post sometimes before it fails, I would recommend --- forget the if, you'll need it anyway for mozilla sites, and occasionally for other sites.

  • Render a trending line chart that tracks 5 values over 13 weeks

    I want to create a line chart that display a trend for 5 categories over 13 weeks. Can someone give me an idea of how the view context would be designed for this at design time?
    I'm new to web dynpro so i hope this makes sense. Would the view context appear similar to this?

    Crystal Reports is a database reporting tool, thus Crystal's charting engine plots data FROM the database.
    Excel is not; one can manually add values to Excel then plot those values on a chart in Excel.
    So if they only have 5 weeks worth of data being pulled in to CR they'll get a chart for 5 weeks.
    Suggestion:  Report off the excel spreadsheet and pull that data in along with the Excel chart.

  • I haven't been able to open Firefox for over a week. I would like to uninstall it, but I can't because it says it's open, but I don't see it is. Please tell me what to do.

  • Over a week and still no broadband?????

    I wonder if anybody has had a similar experience?
    I signed up for the BT boradband and call package (10GB) on August 23rd. I was told that my activation date would be September 13th. I was a bit miffed that I'd have to wait three weeks to be able to call out from my new home, but I was patient. When the 13th rolled around, my phone was switched on, but not the broadband (I had received the hub earlier that day). I tried everything and still nothing. Called BT and was told it could take up to midnight. 
    14th came. No broadband. I was told 'it should be on tomorrow'.
    15th.
    16th.
    17th. I was told 'by Saturday, for sure'.
    18th. 'By Monday, or anytime before then. We'll call you'.
    19th.
    20th. 'Tuesday by close of business hours'.
    21st...guess what? Still no broadband.
    To be honest, I'm pretty shocked. It's been over a week. The worst part is, the only contact I've had has been by my instigation....Only one person called me back to say it'd be on today. And since I've had to haul my laptop to my parents house just to type this, you can guess I'm still not connected. The funniest part of all this, is when I load up my Mac, I can see that my neighbours have also got BT broadband, so we obviously share an exchange. But they're online and I'm not. I've been told repeatedly that it's some issue with the exchange.
    I don't really know what to do now. I'm pretty close to calling the whole thing off, but if I call again and another person tells me 'tomorrow' or 'by midnight', I think I'd go ballistic.
    As far as I know, all the equipment is working fine, I have a dial tone, I can make calls...just the silly hub blinking that annoying broadband light (orange) at me. For those who have experienced this, did it ever get resolved? How long did it take? What happened in the end?

  • Saving Documents, can't find using Finder, over last week.

    Over last week, I've been creating documents using 'Pages' from iWork09,
    then (apparently) saving them successfully in 'Documents' in 'word' format(.doc).
    When I attempt to find them again, either using 'All Documents' or 'Today'
    or 'Last Week,' these documents aren't present.
    This is true for 'newly created' documents or modifying 'older' documents,
    then saving the 'modified' documents with a new 'name' still in 'word' format.
    Today, while attempting to 'save' a document, I saw in lighter text, the files/documents
    I'd 'saved' over the last week. I couldn't recover them, however.
    I run OS 10.6.8(Snow Leopard) with last updates from May 2014. I can't always
    successfully download and install updates; I get a message which reads, 'to install
    these updates, first restart computer, then install.' When I attempt to do so, I can't
    install the updates. I'm successful in installing updates ~ 1/6 times if I first show details.
    The biggest problem is loss of 'saved' documents.
    Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
    PS I run Firefox 30.0, as my bank suggests.

    If you open a Finder window (File > New Window) and navigate to Documents, do you see the files you created?
    Sort in List view. Click on Date Modified column.
    Let's start by running the combo updater over your install to refresh your files. Since you are having issues updating, you might want to start in Safe Boot mode to run the installer.
    Combo updater: Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update v.1.1 - 1.09 GB

    *  shutdown
    *  start the Mac and *wait* for the startup chime to sound
    *  after the sound, press and hold down the shift key
    *  keep holding and *wait* until the grey  Apple logo appears
    *  now release the shift key and just wait (it could take a few minutes)
    *  eventually the login screen appears with the words SAFE BOOT
    *  login and run the combo updater.
    Next, we want to reindex your Spotlight cache files.
    Open System Preferences under the Apple in the Menu bar.
    Select Spotlight.
    Click on Privacy tab.
    Add your Macintosh HD to Privacy. Wait a few minutes as this deletes the cache files.
    Remove from Privacy. This will cause your drive to reindex. This could take some time depending on size.
    MORE INFO ON WHY RUNNING COMBO FIXES ISSUES
    Apple updates available from the Software Update application are incremental updates. Delta updates are also incremental updates and are available from Apple Downloads (software updates are generally smaller than delta updates). The Combo updates contain all incremental updates and will update files that could have become corrupted.
    Combo updaters will install on the same version as they're applying--no need to roll back or do a clean install. So if you think you've got a borked 10.6.8 install from a regular update, just run the 10.6.8 Combo Updater on that system.
    "Delta" updaters can only take you from one version to the next. For example: 10.6.7 to 10.6.8. If somehow the 10.6.8 is missing something it should have, and that something isn't changed between 10.6.7 and 10.6.8 it will still be stale after the delta update.
