"over quota" message listed as cause for Failed Delivery

Trying to send two or three medium sized iPhotos through .mac mail desktop and getting delivery failure with "over quota" message : Diagnostic code: lmtp;550 5.2.2 Delivery failed: Over quota
What is going on?

But don't "over quota" messages pertain to your recipient's mail server and mail account? I've never heard of the sender's mail account kicking out a "sender account over quota". Read the message carefully. I suspect that it says in there somewhere that your recipient's imap or pop server reported that the recipient's mail account is over quota to the .mac smtp server, who reported it to you. The recipient needs to clear some mail off his/her mail account, to free up enough space. The mail message may have been queued in the .mac smtp server while redelivery attempts would be tried periodically for some finite amount of time. Many mail servers will temporarily queue mail that cannot be immediately delivered. Once your recipient made adequate space, then at the next periodic delivery attempt, .mac smtp server could send them because the recipient's pop or imap account now had adequate storage space.

Senders to my Email get "Over Quota" message

Suspect "over quota" message senders are getting is a function of icloud backup. How to get email working again? (Receiving; sending is working just fine).
Have already deleted all but necessary messages, emptied trash, restarted .... thanks for help! KKRP

It is a combination of how much email is avaiable on the server in all server stored mailboxes along with all other data stored with iCloud including your backup.
With an IMAP account, you can store sent messages on the server as well as drafts and trash.

Mail Message list sort order for Applescript in ML

Hi All,
I recently upgraded from SL to ML. I'm having a few issues with an applescript i use to flag/unflag emails for later handling.
Basically, the script does the following:
- get the message list from one of the inboxes/smartboxes. These are ordered by time and grouped by thread.
- compare one message with the next one
- if some criterias are equal (thread ID, subject, ...) then the second email is unflagged
- repeat until end of list.
It was working fine in SL, as a result, i only had the first email of threads with a flag, so the others could be forgotten.
In ML, it looks like even though the emails are displayed in a specific order (date/thread), using
messages of first message viewer
does not fetch the messages in the same order, so matching cannot happen.
Is this the expected behavior in ML ? Is there anyway to have the list of messaged sorted as displayed ?

I found a workaround, though there must be something neater.
I added this before my script

Report for failed delivery with reasons

Hi all,
Maybe i am blind, but I cant find a way to do an automatic report or email a report for bounced emails with details.
So I need to get a report with the email address, message number and the reason for the bounce or failure for Example: bounced by destination server. Reason: 5.1.0 – Unknown address error ('554',
Any where I can do this?
I see the bounce logs have this information, but short of ftp'ing this daily then writing a script to email this out I cant see how to do this.
It would be nice to just have a daily email report

On box - no easy way that I can think of other than what you've mentioned. You could however accomplish this (as well as any other custom reports you would want to create) with SawMill (https://www.sawmill.net).
This used to be used heavily back when the WSA was first released as on box reporting wasn't up-to-par. However, it can be used for the ESA as well.

In this case, original sender want to don't receive over quota message.
How to configure for this case.If you are using the mailforwardingaddress: method of forwarding, then the original envelope sender address will remain, therefore the original sender will get bounces.
If you have the most recent Messaging Server 6.3 patch installed you could use the sieve redirect :resetmailfrom parameter which will cause the envelope sender address to be reset to the current sieve owner. That way bounces go to the sieve owner.

Bug: The message list doesn't refresh SOLVED caused by HWA (hardware assist)

I am using the latest Thunderbird from the beta channel, v38. I was seeing this in the stable release channel as well, so I thought I'd try the beta channel to see if it was fixed there, but it was not.
The issue is that the message list doesn't refresh all the time when switching folders. If I an in my Inbox folder, for example, and then select my Junk folder, the message list will not update/refresh, until I drag my mouse over the message list. Then, it will refresh line-by-line as the mouse enters each line.
I am on Windows 7 64-bit, with an i5 processor and 8 GB RAM. Nothing else on my system is running slow. This will happen when Thunderbird is the only app running. I also have a skin applied to my UI. I've tried a few different skins, and this behavior happens with all of them.
A second issue I noticed this morning was that when I received a new email, the entire app seemed to freeze momentarily while the notification for this new email was spawned. As soon as the notification became visible, the app because responsive again. Perhaps a threading issue here.

Yes, it is intermittent for me as well. I just recalled that the last time I saw it was when I changed folders. It may not be limited to that situation.

TS3899 Over Quota

My iCloud storage is showing 3.8gig used for my emails, I've deleted all my mail on the server but when someone tries to mail me they still receive an "over quota" message. I must mention that I do though still receive the mail.

It's not documented anywhere (for good reason, so spammers can't figure out how to avoid it), but they seem to do a pretty good job of blocking known spam entirely, and marking suspicious stuff as Junk. I know I get far less spam or "Mail thinks this message is Junk Mail" on my Apple accounts than others, even though I use the others very little.
We can only presume that it's based at least partly on how many reports they get with similar attachments.

Doubtful. Most spam has either bogus or false "from" addresses (often real addresses, perhaps even yours, collected from various places). And much of it is actually sent from "bots" -- user's PCs that have been taken over by spammers, so even if you click "All Headers" so the actual sender is available, it doesn't help much (but is still worth doing). Anti-spam software is extremely complex, and quite good at intercepting it. There are reports that at least 95% of spam sent is intercepted and trashed, not delivered.

Handling over quota mails

Is it possible to move over-quota Messages held in a channel to a different custom channel?
This requirement is to help keep the over-quota mails for a week in a custom channel

Mail message list and preview pane no longer in sync?

I'm having a strange problem with Mail. When I select certain messages in the message list, a completely different message is shown in the preview pane. It seems to be a problem with specific message, perhaps they all arrived with in a few days of each other. It's predictable in that the same message always has the same heading information in the message list and causes the same message to show in the preview pane, it's just not the right message (the one that corresponds to the selected message header in the list). I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone how difficult that makes it to find anything. It happens with the effected messages regardless what mailbox or smart folder they are in.
I'm thinking I need to tell Mail to recreate some kind of header cache or something but I don't know where/how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

have you tried to rebuild the offending mailboxes? select a specific mailbox, then go to the mail menu, mailbox>rebuild

The list of extensions for InDesign now have a yellow triangle warning symbol in front of a good many of the extensions and when moused over i get one of two messages:
"Extensions may not function properly because it does not meet the dependency condition."
OR
Extension Status is not consistent with extension set configuration."
The reason I opened the Extension Manager in the first place was to check to see if I had installed a third party extension. And I was presented with these warning symbols. I haven't added anything, I haven't done anything that would cause this.
Does anyone know how to fix this???
I am running OSX 10.9.5; Indesign CS6 version 8.0.2 And Adobe Extension Manager version 6.0.8.28.

Many InDesign pre-installed extensions (Those extensions you have immediately after InDesign installation) define dependency rules in their mxi files. Dependency means that one extension works well only if one or more other extensions are installed and enabled. If this condition is not met, the yellow triangle warning will be shown.
You can select an extension with warning, click "Advanced" tag page in the lower right panel. You will see "This extension has dependency on: <extension name> ...". Check whether every extensions listed here are available and enabled. If not, enable them. Repeat these steps for all the extensions which have warning.

Blocking messages for over quota users from the frontend

Dear All,
Is there a way to bounce back messages from the frontend for users who are currently over quota instead of accepting the message, then routing it to the storage mailhost and then bouncing it from there? We have multiple storage mail hosts and multilpe inbound & outbound servers. All servers are running iMS 5.2 with latest patches. Due to the fact that most of the received messages are spam sent using fake addresses, bounce back messages queue up on the outboud mail servers until they expire.

after reconstruct -q
user/mmmm: fixed quota root usageThis can occur overtime. It is usually not a big issue. Does user 'mmmm' reflect one of the 'problem' users? If you run recontruct -q again, do you still get these messages?
test user was able to receive mail again
(mailuserstatus=active) until overquoted again. Than
same thing happen (empty mailboxes overquoted users)Could you please provide the output for the test user for the commands I mentioned earlier (ldapsearch/imquotacheck).
Is it a good idea to cron recontruct -q?This shouldn't be necessary. If your quota database keeps getting 'out-of-sync' then this would need to be investigated.
During reconstruct -q we also got a number of these:

user: xxxxxxDid the user in this example exist in the directory or are they 'orphan' accounts?
Can you see an LDAP search (access logs) which correlates to this date stamp which returned an error?

Q1: I am new to SAP-XI. So I have no idea about TCODE-SXMB_ADM. Could you introduce more details about it?
Q2: The XI system I am using is running on SAP-ICC's machine. The tools I can use are:
1.Builder for Integration Repository
2.Builder for Integration Configuration
3.System Landscape Directory
4.Runtime Workbench
5.Administration System (for Repository, Directory, Runtime)
Please note that I do not have a complete control on this SAP-XI. Do you think whether or not I can set the timeout parameter by following the instructions provided in your Weblog?
