Over-riding automatic save/copy of "sent" e-mail ??

Is there any way to over-ride (for a single message) the automatic save/copy of "sent" e-mail ?? ie there are occasions when I DON'T want to keep a copy.....

As far as I'm aware, you can choose to either save a copy or not.
This is set up in your Account Settings> copies & folders for the mail account.
I'm not aware of any method that lets you preselect to not save a particular email. Other than changing the Account Settings prior to creating the email and then resetting them again after sending.
The only option would be to save all as auto and delete what you do not want.

  • Automatically Save Local Copy of Sent Mail (IMAP)

Hello - I use an IMAP account (several, actually) but want to save a local copy of all messages (incoming & sent). Mail seems to do this easily for incoming mail but not at all for sent mail, which seems odd and makes me think I'm just missing something. Am I?
To be clear, the IMAP sent mailbox and its corresponding folder in Mail work fine (I know how to set up "use this mailbox for..."): what I want to do is duplicate the contents of that mailbox on my mac automatically (i.e. don't want to continually have to copy messages and remember what's copied and what's not etc.).
Also what's up with not being able to apply rules to mailboxes? Is that fixed in 10.6 version? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Mike - I find the bcc option kind of inelegant and overly elaborate for what should be fairly simple, but in the absence of anything else I guess it's worth a try. On the "rules don't work" front what I meant was that there is no apparent option to apply rules to mailboxes: this issue would be solved if I could say "if mailbox is sent/imap, copy message to sent/on my mac" but the available conditions in rules don't include mailboxes. You know of anything I can do about that? I'd love it if I could get this worked out without having to create 2 copies of every sent message just to save one...

  • Save a pdf file without Adobe automatically adding "-Copy" to the end

How can I save a pdf file without Adobe automatically adding "-Copy" to the end of file name?

If you have actually made any changes (e.g. adding a Sticky Note or filling out forms), the Save button will appear in the bottom toolbar.  It will save it as the same name.
"- Copy" is added only when you tap/click the Save As button.  You can change it to something else, if you'd like.

  • On IMAP email, is there a fix for not being able to save to the SENT or DRAFTS folder?

    Dear Support,
Recently I switched from POP to IMAP email. Now the IMAP account does not save Drafts or Sent folders. The POP account is still set up and does save. I love using Thunderbird and have used it for over 10 years. This bug is very annoying to me. Can you please tell me if a fix is in the works? From the chat boards it seems like many users do have the bug.
    Thank you,
    Chris

Wrt the drafts folder, try to use the local one instead of the one on the server.
Problems with copying messages to the Sent folder on the server may be caused by an unreliable Internet connection. I'm afraid there isn't much you can do about this. Have you checked with your email provider?

  • Is there a software program that automatically save stills from a QT video?

Just wondering if there's any software out there that will automatically save stills from a QT video? There's a program called Image Grabber by Cliprex that does this but it only works on PC's. You run it and it makes like 100 imge captures from the video clip and lets you go in and pick the best ones. Anyone know if there's a Mac equivallent out there that does this? Right now, the only way I know to get stills from a QT video is to manually go through it frame by frame and copy/paste, which is obviously very time & labor intensive. I would love to find something that does it for me automatically.

    Hello Doug,
My first recommendation is to take a screen shot of your QT movie using not Preview but Snap Pro X. (You already know: you must pause the QT movie before taking the screen shot of the target frame.) Snap Pro X is the equivalent of Image Grabber for Windows machines.
SPX offers a choice of what size image (10% to 400%) you want and where to save the image (which you name in the window provided). I usually take screenshots with this app @ 100% and select "Save to Clipboard" because then you can open the clipboard image in GraphicConverter or PhotoShop Elements or PhotoShop and then set ppi resolution, adjust size or make any of the modification features available with these applications.
    <http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/>
Also, I'm not certain but I "think" GraphicConverter can select a single frame from a QT movie. The best little trick is use is to open the clipboard mounted images using one of the "New from Clipboard" menu options. There is now a separate manual in pdf for GC; there've been so many new features added that it's wise to spend the extra money. GC is one of the best deals and best supported-by-author applications you can buy.

Both apps are shareware. Updates are free for GC but I'm not sure about Snap Pro X.

  • Opening up PDF in browser window automatically saves it to temp file

    Hi,
In our application, we send pdfs to a popped open browser window for the user to access.
One of the access features is a "Save" button on the pdf that will send an xfdf post of the form data back to the server. (we have the server url embedded in a form field an Acrobat JavaScript attached to a button does the "post").
This usually works fine.  However, we have a few customers that complain the "Save" doesn't work.
Turns out that the "Save" doesn't work because when the pdf is first loaded, it is being saved to a temporary file on the disk (and not held in the browser memory), so the authentication cookie of the browser session is now no longer retained with the "Saved As" copy of the pdf.  Thus, the pdf "Save" fails.
So the question is, why does sometimes, the pdf automatically "save as" to the temporary directory, and usually it doesn't have this problem?
We've seen this both with Acrobat Reader 8 and Acrobat Reader 9 (including the latest 9.3.).
    Thoughts?
    Thanks!

    Hi Bill and Dave,
    Thanks for the thoughts.
I'm confident that this pdf is getting opened in IE (see attached screenshot from a customer).
As far as additional clues...  I was banging on this on my machine (Windows 7, IE 8.0.7600.16385), and I did see it occur once.
Thanks for the thought on the browser.  I'll query the problem customers about their IE version (the site only allows using IE).
When it occurred, (later it dawned on me...but not at the time), the "plug-in" that opened appeared to be Acrobat Standard window (because in hind-sight, I realized that the "Save As" button was available).  The way I seemed to cause it (but cannot reproduce it now) was to change the "Documents/Save Settings/Every X minutes (to value of 1 minute)", and also the Security(Enhanced) to "Enable Enhanced Security" to "true".
note:  I have both Acrobat 9 Standard, and Acrobat 9 Reader installed on this machine.
When I went an reset those values to the original, it was still "stuck" in the "saving to temporary disk" mode (great because it reproduced the problem, but then I seemed to have my machine stuck in this mode).
So I rebooted, and then the IE plug-in seems to now always run Acrobat Reader...and I had the problem no more.
I have not yet been able to get this stuck in this mode again...
    Any thoughts would be appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Andy

You haven't mentioned which mail it is,
If it is G-mail go to settings --> general tab--> default text style , you can change your font size & then save at the bottom of the page

  • Option for Photoshop CS6 to Automatically Save a TIFF or Photoshop RAW?

I was wondering if there is setting so when you save a picture file, Photoshop will automatically save a copy of the the image in TIFF or RAW format to prevent the loss of picture quality when it is saved as as JPEG. I have one photo editing software that when I saw an open image for the first time, it automatically creates a digital native folder for me with the RAW or TIFF file in it. Can Photoshop do the same thing and if so, how please?  T hank you! Kirsten

What version of Camera Raw are you currently using? You need at least version 8.3 but the latest version is 9.

  • Copy of sent messages?

Is it possible to set up Mail to keep a second copy of a sent message, other than the one in the "Sent" folder? Specifically, I'd like to have a second copy placed into a separate folder. There are other family members who use Mail and who inadvertently delete some of my sent messages when deleting their own, before I've had a chance to go into the Sent folder and manually move the ones I want to keep.
While I know Mail rules don't apply to outgoing mail, I was hoping maybe there was another way to tell it keep a secondary copy of sent messages.
If not, is there anyway to retrieve sent messages if they have been deleted (and also deleted from the Trash folder), other than software like FileSalvage?
    Thanks

Thanks for the input....I don't think that's the right solution for me at this point, but I appreciate the advice.
How about creating a separate computer login/user
account for each family member that uses your
computer so no one else accesses your messages or
email accounts or other any data stored in your Home
    folder/directory?
Besides a Smart Mailbox (which is not an actual
mailbox), there is no way that I'm aware of to keep a
2nd copy of sent messages in a separate mailbox and
even if possible, what will prevent other family
members from deleting messages from this 2nd mailbox
    also?
Separate computer login accounts without admin
privileges and disabling automatic login is your
    answer.

  • Does Lightroom automatically save pictures after editing?

I just started using Lightroom with Creative Cloud and am very new to digital photography having just gotten a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 for my birthday.  When using Lightroom to edit the pictures, does it automatically save the picture?  Does it overwrite the original photo?  If not, how do I find where it is saved to?
Sorry for the noob questions!  Thanks in advance for any answers.

Yes. LR stores each change you make to an image in its database. The actual
image is NOT changed however. LR keeps a separate file of previews in the
catalog. As you edit your image, each chafe is recorded as metadata and
these changes are also reflected in the preview you see. This is true for
RAW, JPG and TIFF files. The changes are only applied to your image when
you export it. This is known as parametric editing and allows for the
creation of multiple versions of a photo from one master copy. The catalog
is then the location of all changes as well as the location of the original
image and the preview. There is nothing to save as each activity is
    recorded and saved automatically.

  • Automatic blind copy to myself

    Hi,
how do I set-up an automatic blind copy to my main email account, when i sent an email from my BB Z10 device?
or is there any other alternative function that I store / have the sent emails from my BB Z10 in my outlook inbox / sent folder?
    many thanks
    IG

Are you using an IMAP email server, if so, those sent from the Z10 emails should appear in your server in the Sent folder.
If not, check your server for any Auto BCC settings... most have them.

  • How to automatically "save" email when viewed?

I'm migrating to Mail after 14+years on AOL where they had a preference to "save email that I read" to an incoming/saved mail folder. Is there a way to do this in Mail automatically so when I open an email to read it, it's automatically saved in an incoming/saved mail folder? I want to MOVE (not copy) every message to a different folder once it's read, for archiving purposes, sort of like a personal diary/journal/blog, as I do a lot of "chatting" in email that documents my life and that of my children.

    Ziv Jacoby wrote:
Let me explain how I tackle this and maybe, if you like it, you can do the same.
I hold several mailboxes on my Mac each has its own rule. Apart from that I have a smart mailbox which only holds my unread mails. When my emails arrive I always read them from my smart mailbox and deleting them if I want. If I want to retrieve them I go to the desired mailbox on my Mac.
I hope this will solve your problem,
ok, that sounds like it might work--but how do I get the emails into the 'on my mac' folder since I can't find a "if mail is read/unread" condition in the rules?
    thanks!

  • Automatic Save Preference

    hello,
Have a small problem as we are now working from a server.
However, Illustrator has problems saving an opened file in the same place with same file name.
Think it's proberly down to automatic saving in a local computer causing problems. Is it possible for someone to tell me to locate the automatic save preference? As I remember with previous editions of Illustrator you were able to state how many automatic saves in a given time aka photoshop. Can't find it in Illustrator CS 3.
    cheers me dears,
    cas

There is no such thing in Illustrator.
Photoshop's history states are not saved versions. They are only present when the document is open. They are more like "undo's" than save states.
You're issue is that you are working across a server. Adobe has always suggested that users work locally then copy to a server. Never open and save from and to a server.
